President Obama Slams Kim Kardashian, Shift in Celebrity-Based Culture

Kim Kardashian may want to remain in hiding a bit longer. The leader of the free world just took shots at her and Kanye West. Sort of. In remarks made in front of Amazon employees in Chattanooga last week, President Obama used Kim and Kanye as examples of a “shift in culture” that is poisoning today’s youth and altering The American Dream. Obama argued that a few years back “kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.” The President added: “There has been a shift in culture. We weren’t exposed to the things we didn’t have in the same way that kids these days are… There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous.” In other words: perhaps it’s not healthy for young people – who follow Kim Kardashian on Twitter and think they are totally her best friend – to know that Kim and Kanye allegedly spent $767K on gold plated toilets . And it’s especially unhealthy when one considers just how Kim got famous enough to afford such items (we’re looking at you, Kim Kardashian sex tape !). Obama noted that he and wife Michelle are “constantly reminding Malia and Sasha of the slightly unreal environment that they’re in – and that that’s not the norm,” while it seems unlikely Kris Jenner is ensuring her children are equally well grounded. This isn’t the first time the President has called out Kanye. He was caught referring to West as a jackass a couple years ago. What do you think of these comments? Are they accurate? Off base? We’ll see how long this truce lasts. Dwade And Ex Wife Call A Truce We’re glad to see DWade and Siohvaughn finally get on the same page. Parents going back and forth in the media is not healthy for the children. According to Gossip Extra Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is satisfied with the decision by a Miami-Dade County family court judge that forced him to turn over his two boys to his ex-wife, a source close to Wade tells Gossip Extra exclusively. The reason for Wade’s approval? In the same order Tuesday, Judge Antonio Marin also ordered Wade’s ex, Siohvaughn Funches, to undergo a psychological evaluation with an emphasis on anger control issues. And Funches will have to attend family therapy with her and Wade’s 11-year-old son, Zaire. Said Evan Marks, Wade’s Miami lawyer: “We are satisfied with the ruling.” Marks declined to comment further after Wade and Funches agreed to stop talking trash about each other in public. Wade had Zaire and the little one, Zion, taken to their mom within minutes of Monday’s hearing, Gossip Extra‘s source said. The ball player received assurances from a neutral parenting coordinator that he’d be in touch with the kids on each day of their two-week visit. Hopefully everyone sticks to the agreement.

Drugs Are Bad M’Kay: Virginia Woman Jailed For A Year After Her 4-Year-Old Found And Sniffed Up Her Yayo Stash

These epitome of a bad mothers ain’t isht! Via NYDailyNews : A deadbeat Virginia mom, whose 4-year-old son found and snorted her stash of yayo, has been locked up for 12 months. Carrie Ann Billups, 26, pleaded guilty to child abuse after the toddler got high from $10 worth of the drug he discovered hidden under her bedroom lamp in Nov. 2012. Billups told cops she woke up one morning at her Chesapeake home to see her kid sniffing the white powder. Taking the drug away, she held off on taking him to hospital as she didn’t want to get into trouble. But hours later he started vomiting. She took him to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters where a urine test confirmed he’d ingested the drug. He was treated and released the following day, reports The Virginian-Pilot. Chesapeake Circuit Judge Marjorie Arrington sentenced Billups on Monday to five years in prison, but suspended four years of the term. “I don’t think a 4-year-old would know how to snort blow unless he’s seen it done somewhere,” Arrington told the defendant. “The court is concerned about what’s going to happen to this child when you are released if you continue to use yayo.” This is terrible. Helen and Les Brown, a couple of California sweethearts born on the same day and married 75 years ago, died earlier this month – one day apart. They were 94. “It was a real love match, wasn’t it?” their oldest son, Les Jr., told the Long Beach Press-Telegram . “They were together every day for 75 years.” The young Long Beach lovebirds eloped on September 19, 1937, and were married against their own parents’ wishes, according to their sons. Helen was from a working-class family, while Les was from a wealthier one. Both sides believed the love would never last … so much for that. She a housewife with a knack for buying and selling area properties while he owned a photography studio, serving as a photographer for the Navy. Despite being born the same day, the Browns were two different people, according to their sons. Mom was strict while Dad was more laid-back. Like all couples, their children said they had issues to work through during their years together but that the two constantly reaffirmed their love. At the time of their deaths, Les was suffering from Parkinson’s and Helen had stomach cancer, but they remained together and in love until the end. Helen passed away July 16; Les joined her July 17. Their youngest son Daniel summed it up best: “My mom often said she didn’t want to see my father die, and he didn’t want to live without her.”

My name is Pia and I am 15 years old. I am from Germany and I met Justin on 7th June 2012. It all started with the fact that my little sister was diagnosed with cancer. It was really a difficult time with many ups and downs. Often I was afraid that I’d lose my sister one day, but there was this boy named Justin Bieber. He always gave me and my family hope. He always did so many good things for sick children. Often I had to fight the tears because I knew that my sister would never meet him. I thought, we’re just a small family from Germany, Justin doesn’t even know that I exist. The only thing I wanted was to thank him for everything he has ever done and to see my little sister smile. Days, weeks, months, even years went by. The day finally came when my sister was healthy again, she could laugh and play like other children and her hair began to grow. I had time for other things again and I believed in my dream someday to be able to meet Justin and to thank him. I’ve done everything but I never got a response, until that one day where everything changed. It was a Tuesday, the phone rang and I answered it. It was a man who told me he had received a letter from my sister and pointed out that he had phoned the manager of Justin Bieber, and we would meet Justin on the 7th June 2012 in Cologne! Tears were running down my cheeks. The day came closer and I couldn’t sleep anymore. When we arrived in Cologne, we went to Justin’s hotel. Suddenly Dan Kanter and Scrappy came up to me, I was totally speechless. Finally, I got brought up to Justin’s room and my heart started beating faster and faster. All things from the past two years went through my head. Justin walked in, it was like a dream. He was so beautiful! He ran up to me and I looked into his deep into his brown eyes. He said, “Hi how are you?” I was so speechless, I just said, “I’m fine, thank you.” Then he gave me a big hug. My whole body began to tingle, it felt so good to be that close to him! I was finally able to thank him for everything, that was all I wanted. I love you so much Justin. It doesn’t matter what you have, but what you make of what you have, that is important. Florida Crazies: Hostage Holding Gunman Kills 6 In Apartment Complex Before Being Shot Down By SWAT!

Florida Man Killed By SWAT After Taking Hostages In An Apartment Complex Via NYDailyNews A gunman holding hostages inside a South Florida apartment complex killed six people before being shot to death by a SWAT team that stormed the building early Saturday following an hours-long standoff, police said. Sgt. Eddie Rodriguez told The Associated Press that police got a call around 6:30 p.m. Friday that shots had been fired in a building with dozens of apartments in Hialeah, just a few miles north of Miami. Rodriguez said that when police arrived, they discovered an active shooter situation: “He’s inside the building, moving from floor to floor. Eventually he barricades himself in an apartment.” A crisis team was able to briefly establish communication with the man. Rodriguez said negotiators and a SWAT team tried talking with him from the other side of the door of an apartment unit where he was holding two hostages. But Rodriguez said the talks eventually “just fell apart.” Officers stormed the building, fatally shooting the gunman in an exchange of gunfire. “They made the decision to go in there and save and rescue the hostages,” Rodriguez said. Both hostages survived. Rodriguez said he didn’t have any information on how long negotiations lasted. If we didn’t know any better we’d say the mental health of people in America is rapidly deteriorating… He said police discovered two people, a male and female, shot to death in the hallway in front of one unit. Three more, a male and two females, were found shot and killed in another apartment on a different floor. Another man who was walking his children into an apartment across the street also was killed. Rodriguez said it wasn’t immediately clear whether the gunman took aim at him from an upper-level balcony or if he was hit by a stray bullet. Zulima Niebles said police told her that three of her family members were among the victims. She said her sister Merly Sophia Niebles, her sister’s husband, and her sister’s daughter Priscila Perez, 16, were all shot and killed. Lindsey Vonn is worried that Tiger Woods will cheat on her with ex-wife Elin Nordegren during a summer vacation with their children, a new report says. Tiger, who’s on good terms with Elin these days after his rampant cheating ended their marriage, is joining her and their two kids on holiday in Sweden. Elin Nordegren reportedly approves of her relationship with Tiger, and gave the lovebirds her blessing, but Lindsey Vonn is still concerned, sources say. Apparently, she fears that the one-time serial cheater will try to get with Elin behind her back, and would reconcile with her if his efforts are successful. Says a source of the couple: “Lindsey is convinced that Tiger still has feelings for Elin and, if he got the chance, he would dump Lindsey in a flash and get back together with her.” Given his history of cheating, it’s easy to see why Lindsey Vonn would worry … but it’s also hard to see how either Tiger or Elin would ever go for this. While he undoubtedly regrets his actions, Woods obviously reached a point where he didn’t want to be married to Nordegren the first time around. His philandering wasn’t a one-time lapse in judgment. Just saying. Having hit rock bottom and rebounded, reclaiming his world #1 golf ranking and finding love with Vonn, who accepts him for who he is, Tiger is said to be happier than ever. Obviously, being reasonable human beings, Tiger and Elin want the best for their young kids, and that means spending quality time with them. Whatever happened between them, the children come first, and they have a vested interest in maintaining an amicable relationship for their sake. It’s an unusual situation for Lindsey, but while Woods-Vonn-Nordegren tension may make for good gossip, we’re guessing it doesn’t go beyond that.
