David Cross Accused of Racism; Amber Tamblyn Fights Back

So there’s been this thing going on for the past couple of weeks, don’t know if you’ve noticed, where all kinds of people are really opening up about moments when they were harassed. It’s like women started talked about their experiences with Harvey Weinstein , then suddenly everyone felt comfortable sharing some real deep, dark stuff. It’s actually been pretty inspiring to see. People have called out Harvey and other celebrities like Ben Affleck and George Clooney for their bad behavior , and now actress/comedian Charlyne Yi is doing the same with David Cross. In a series of tweets made on Monday, Charlyne recalled the first time she met David. It was about ten years ago, she explained, and “he made fun of my pants (that were tattered because I was poor). Dumbfounded I stared at him speechless and he said to me ‘what’s a matter? You don’t speak English?? Cing-chong-ching-chong.'” “Then after he saw I was offended he asked me if I was going to fight with him karate in a southern accent.” She said that a few years after that, she was introduced to him again after she performed a comedy show, and “he said ‘Hi nice to meet you.'” “I will say this,” she continued. “I can tell the difference between this man making a joke vs condescending me.” “This happened 10 years ago and I sure as hell hope he’s changed (or at the very least, he’s scared enough to not be his racist self.” “HOWEVER,” she concluded, “it is very uncool that a 40+ man was being racist towards me, being a young 20 year old woman who was clearly on the verge of tears from his first racist comment.” So that’s a pretty awful story, right? But in a Twitter post of his own, David suggested that perhaps Charlyne simply wasn’t remembering things correctly. He wrote that this “accusation” was “deeply upsetting,” that he would “never intentionally hurt someone like that,” and that he does not even remember any of this happening. However, he also tried to make it clear that he wasn’t accusing her of lying, “and I’m truly sorry if I hurt her, it was never my intention to do that.” David said that while he doesn’t remember doing any of the things Charlyne said he did, he reached out to her about the issue, and he also proposed “the possibility that perhaps we are both misremembering exactly what happened that night.” He finished up his message with “I can’t believe I have to write this but I am not a racist nor a bully and loathe them in real life.” But after mulling the whole thing over for a while, he came to the conclusion that he may have actually said those things, but he just said them as “some asshole redneck racist character.” Because he grew up in Georgia, see, and he’s frequently used that kind of character to make fun of those asshole redneck racists. Charlyne just didn’t get that, apparently. After explaining that, he wrote that he was “done with this,” and that he hopes the people who have called him a racist have to deal with a similar scandal, because “maybe then you won’t be so quick to judge.” Yikes. Why is it so hard for some people to just make a sincere apology for something they’ve done? Why is that such a task? Charlyne made it clear that David offended her and hurt her, and not for some ridiculous reason either — regardless of whether or not he was doing a character, he said racist things to her and it didn’t go over well. Why does he feel the need to justify it so much when a simple “Hey, I was trying to be funny and messed up, I’m sorry” would have done the job? Whatever the reason, David’s wife, Amber Tamblyn, has jumped into the fray, too. And if you’re remembering her amazing words about feminism and sexism and hoping she’ll make it all better … well, you’re in for a surprise. Not a good one, either. People were talking on Twitter about David’s lackluster response to Charlyne’s story, and someone said that it was unfortunate because Amber is so great. “He said he was sorry, publicly, several times,” she responded. Please don’t @ me in conversations dragging my husband. Thanks.” Several people called her out for that statement, because David never really apologized, and he certainly didn’t do it several times. Someone even pointed out that she dragged James Woods “like a dead body all over the internet for being a perv but ‘sorry’ is OK for your obnoxiously racist husband.” Enough people pointed out the problem that she reconsidered, and last night she revealed that she personally spoke with Charlyne, “and her feelings/safety are all that matter to me.” “We’re good,” she added. “I owe you nothing, Twitter. You’re lucky to have me.” “I’ll say it again,” she wrote when people still tried to criticize her. “I spoke to Charlyne. I believe her. I’m about HER feelings/emotional health right now, not Twitter’s. That okay with you?” “I will say this for the last time. Do not hold women accountable for the actions, decisions or words of their partners. Don’t. Do it.” What an emotional roller coaster. Kailyn Lowry and Farrah Abraham to Jenelle Evans: Shut Up, You Whiner!

You have to know that you’re in the wrong when you’ve lost the moral high ground to Farrah Abraham. Though Kailyn Lowry has already dismissed the idea , the fact that remains that Jenelle Evans is threatening to quit Teen Mom 2 , alleging that the edits are making her look bad.  Now, both Kailyn Lowry and Farrah Abraham are weighing in on exactly what they think about Jenelle’s whining. Jenelle Evans, terror of Teen Mom 2 , might quit the franchise that she’s been with for, what, 8 years? In a bizarre case of a reality star biting the hand that feeds them, the Carolina Hurricane has been ranting about “unfair” edits that portray her and David Eason as bad parents. But Jenelle has also been refusing to film , so maybe she’s really sticking to her guns this time. Obviously, MTV and the producers and editors for Teen Mom 2 have to tell a story in order for Teen Mom 2 to be entertaining. Reality television is not a documentary, folks. But to hear Jenelle tell it, they’re publicly maligning her by only showing the bad things in her family. An obvious solution would be for her family to just … not have bad things to film, but maybe that just isn’t possible with  scary David Eason  around. Jenelle’s complaints that it’s MTV that’s ruining her life don’t really hold water, especially when you remember that people who know her in real life — like two grandmothers of two of her children — believe that her kids aren’t safe with her. Well, now not one but two of Jenelle’s costars are speaking up. TMZ caught up with Farrah Abraham , who, when pressed, was willing to discuss Jenelle Evans’ whining. “Look, here’s my thing: I don’t edit the show; none of the women do, so I don’t think that they should be talking about the edit.” In fact, Farrah is tired of the whole conversation. “That’s kind of a dead story. Some old topics.” Reality television is reality television. Farrah says that she focuses on being a star, on being “the talent.” “That’s my pay grade and I don’t like to edit, so I’ll leave it to them.” That makes sense. Everyone does their jobs and the show gets made and everybody gets paid. Farrah does have a fun suggestion for Jenelle: “Maybe she should just, you know, apply to edit the show.” Or she could just let qualified people do their jobs and maybe Jenelle could make a better effort to be a good mother. We would summarize Farrah’s attitude towards Jenelle and her gripes as … dismissive. “It is what it is. Like, who cares?” Kailyn Lowry also spoke to TMZ , and told them that editing just goes with the territory. “We all kind of have a storyline that they have to follow, and it’s up to us to change it if we want to better our image, or whatever.” Exactly. MTV can’t show only bad stuff if there isn’t any bad stuff, folks. “I can’t think of a time where they, like, edited my conversations like that.” Meaning that, in all of her years in the Teen Mom franchise, Kailyn hasn’t experienced anything like what Jenelle is alleging happened. That casts a lot of doubt on Jenelle’s claims. “But I meant here’s always times where we don’t like how they edit things.” Again, editing goes with the territory, but everybody performs their functions and gets paid. Only Jenelle seems to be losing her mind over it. “But, at the end of the day, that’s what we signed up for and it’s in our contract that they’re allowed to do that.” And then Kailyn talks about Jenelle, specifically. “I’m not going to say that Jenelle’s overreacting or being dramatic; I think Jenelle’s just being Jenelle.” That’s a nicely shady insult and also the total opposite of the 2008 meaning of she’s just being Miley . And Kailyn had a bit more to say. “Jenelle texted me saying to keep her name out of my mouth, so I’ll just leave it there.” View Slideshow: Jenelle Evans: Is She REALLY Quitting Teen Mom 2?! Yes, we’d heard that Jenelle told Kailyn to shut her “bitch ass” up or something along those lines (it was actually a demand that she end her “bitch ass comments”) Kailyn is then asked, in response to the news that Jenelle had texted her: “Are you guys friends.” Kailyn almost looks surprised by the question. ” Nope ,” she replies.

Ben Affleck: Blasting Harvey Weinstein, Staying Sober (Report)

Over the past two weeks, there’s been a good deal of speculation about Ben Affleck’s sobriety . To bring you up to speed, Affleck checked into rehab back in March to seek treatment for an alcohol addiction he’d been battling on and off for over a decade. Over the summer, however, Ben appeared to relapse and was spotted drinking with girlfriend Lindsay Shookus on multiple occasions. Now, sources say Affleck is in outpatient therapy for further treatment, and is once again intent on staying sober. Shookus is a producer for Saturday Night Live, and sources close to the couple tell People magazine that Ben was on hand at 30 Rockefeller Center to support Lindsay over the weekend. Witnesses note, however, that the Oscar winner was not on hand for the weekly after-party, likely as a result of his efforts to abstain from drinking. So our congratulations go out to Ben for two reasons today: Not only does he appear to be recommitted to his own sobriety, he also his position of power to condemn the repugnant actions of disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein. As you’ve no doubt heard, Weinstein stands accused of sexually assaulting numerous women over the course of the past thirty years. Weinstein was instrumental in the production and distribution of Good Will Hunting , the film that made household names of Affleck and friend Matt Damon. But despite his longstanding ties to Weinstein, Affleck castigated the disgraced 64-year-old in a scathing social media post: “I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades,” Affleck wrote. “The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others,” the actor continued. It’s been rumored that Affleck’s statement was a response to a tweet from one of Weinstein’s alleged victims, actress Rose McGowan, who urged Ben and his brother Casey to speak out against their friend and former mentor. We may never know for certain if McGowan played a role in convincing Ben to speak out, but the important thing is that Affleck took a stand against Weinstein’s vile behavior. It’s been a rough year for Ben, what with a high-profile divorce, public struggle with addiction, and rumors of career difficulties. But he certainly seems focused on ending 2017 on a high note, and for that, we applaud him. View Slideshow: 25 Celebrities Who Have Been to Rehab

Terry Crews: I Was Sexually Assaulted, Too

Over the past several days, Hollywood has been rocked by an ever-growing scandal centered around Harvey Weinstein . The long-time movie producer was revealed by The New York Times last week to be a serial sexual harasser, as the newspaper revealed eight past instances in which Weinstein paid off alleged victims in exchange for the silence. Since then, Weinstein has basically admitted to many of the charges… issued a bizarre apology … been fired by the company he helped build… … and been accused of rape by seven different women . It’s an ugly, ugly, UGLY situation. However, if any silver lining can come out of this controversy, it’s the exposure of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry and how so many women have disgusting stories to tell. Numerous actresses have been coming forward of late with statements about their own sordid past with Weinstein and/or with some other high-powered male who put them in an awkward (at best) circumstance. Enough of this behavior is enough – and perhaps this bombshell of a report will help curb such gross behavior. But Terry Crews wants the public to know that women aren’t the only victims. He was once groped by a Hollywood executive. “This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME,” the Brooklyn 99 star wrote as the first of many Tweets outlining what happened to him. We’ll just let the actor take it from here. We’ll let Crews tell his own awful story… My wife n I were at a Hollywood function last year n a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates. (2/cont.) Jumping back I said What are you doing?! My wife saw everything n we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk. (3/cont.)  I was going to kick his ass right then— but I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear. (4/cont.) “240 lbs. Black Man stomps out Hollywood Honcho” would be the headline the next day. (5/cont.) Only I probably wouldn’t have been able to read it because I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL. So we left. (6/cont.) That night and the next day I love what I do. But it’s a shame and the height of disappointment when someone tries to takes advantage of that. (12/cont.)I talked to everyone I knew that worked with him about what happened. (7/cont.) He called me the next day with an apology but never really explained why he did what he did. (8/cont.) I decided not 2 take it further becuz I didn’t want 2b ostracized— par 4 the course when the predator has power n influence. (9/cont.) I let it go. And I understand why many women who this happens to let it go. (10/cont.) Who’s going 2 believe you? ( few) What r the repercussions?(many) Do u want 2 work again? (Yes) R you prepared 2b ostracized?(No)(11/cont.) I love what I do. But it’s a shame and the height of disappointment when someone tries to takes advantage of that. (12/cont.) He knows who he is. But sumtimes Uhav2 wait & compare notes w/ others who’ve been victimized in order 2gain a position of strength. (13cont) I understand and empathize with those who have remained silent. But Harvey Weinstein is not the only perpetrator. (14/cont.) Hollywood is not the only business we’re this happens, and to the casualties of this behavior— you are not alone. (15/cont.) Hopefully, me coming forward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless. (16/end) Wow. We admire Terry Crews for coming out with this story. Bravo, sir.

American Horror Story Season 7 Episode 6 Recap: Mid-Western Assassin

Well, Ally should have trusted her gut and remained a lone wolf.  On American Horror Story Season 7 Episode 6 , Ally joined forces with Meadow, but there was a little too much crazy from each of them for them to function as part of a team.  Watch American Horror Story Season 7 Episode 6 Online Ally felt vindicated because she now knew she was not this crazy person everyone was painting her as, so she rushed over to find Meadow in the garage all tied up.  It was not long before Harrison, and his beau noticed what was going on, but Ally and Meadow were on their way to safety, apparently. All roads lead to the Butcher on Main.  What went through Ally’s mind for her to think that going there would solve any of the issues? Would that not be the first place for the cult to look if they wanted to dole out some horror? Anyway.  Meadow spilled the beans about everything, even going as far as saying that Ally was just one piece of the puzzle and that multiple different plans were going on across the city.  The end result? To scare everyone into thinking Kai was the man who was going to lead them through the fear. That’s not entirely a bad plan when you think about it, but it would take a master manipulator to carry it out.  With Evan Peters’ Kai in the mix, what could possibly go wrong? He has all the traits of Charles Manson and has already proven he’s willing to cut his team members out of the equation.  Meadow revealed that she loved Kai, but she quickly realized that was what he did to reel people into his cause before he ditched them and moved on to the next one.  “There’s only way to stop him,” Meadow concluded. “We have to kill him.” While all of that was playing out, Sally Keffler was trying her best to cause an uprising and take Kai down once and for all. After ridiculing him at a town meeting and gaining some support in the process, Kai knew he had to take her out.  While Meadow was left with the crazy therapist aka Kai’s brother, Ally went to visit Sally, and they bonded over their mutual love for imported coffee from Italy.  Sally agreed to help Ally prove what was going on in town, but they were interrupted by the cult. Sally was killed, and it was made to look like a suicide thanks to Facebook and Ivy gave Ally a last-minute reprieve.  “No one’s going to believe that,” Sally tried to tell Kai, but his response was epic: “Of course they will — it’s on Facebook.” This all came after Kai told Ivy he would help her get revenge on Ally for calling Ozzy “my son” after giving birth to him. So, are we to assume that Ivy still has some feelings for Ally? You bet.  We then picked up at the mass shooting and Meadow was the one firing the gun. As expected, it was all part of a ruse on Kai’s part, so Ally sounded crazier.  So, Meadow signed over her life in the hope of meeting with Kai in the afterlife because of course, she did.  Sigh. We thought Meadow was silly, but not this silly.  What did you think of all the drama? Hit the comments below! View Slideshow: TV Star Salaries: Who Makes The Most In Drama?

Rose McGowan Blasts Ben Affleck: You LIE About Harvey Weinstein!

Following a few days of silence, Ben Affleck spoke out on Tuesday about Harvey Weinstein. The actor, who has worked many times in the past with the disgraced film producer, took to Facebook and wrote the following: I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades. The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power. Many had been waiting to hear from Affleck (and Matt Damon) after Weinstein played a major role in their careers by producing Good Will Hunting. Late last week, however, a bombshell report revealed that Weinstein has paid off eight women over the years in exchange for their silence regarding his alleged sexual misconduct. Then, a follow-up report claimed Weinstein has actually raped multiple young actresses and associates. He’s been fired from his company and his wife just announced she’s leaving him. The reverberations extend far beyond just Weinstein, however, as his behavior with women has been an open secret in Hollywood for decades. Who’s been helping him keep his horrible actions quiet? How deep does the cover-up go? We may find out more each day, but Rose McGowan has been one of the few people leading the charge against Weinstein from the beginning. She’s been outspoken on social media about his reputation and his inexcusable treatment of women… and now she’s here to call out Affleck. Shortly after Affleck issued the statement above, McGowan responded on Twitter. She flat out called Affleck a liar because she said she had a conversation with him many years ago in which she explained how Weinstein had sexually harassed her. Affleck’s supposed response? “Goddamnit! I told him to stop doing that.” The actress says this interaction took place while she and Affleck were at a press conference in promotion of a movie they did together, one she was “made” to attend even after an “assault” at the hands of Weinstein. McGowan concluded her Tweet in simple, straightforward fashion, by addressing Affleck with two damning words: You lie. Previously, McGowan called for all members of The Weinstein Company board to resign due to their silence over Weinstein’s treatment of women over the years. She’s doing all she can to lead this fight and to expose the rampant sexism in Hollywood. This is also known as doing the opposite of what Donna Karan is doing , as the fashion designer stepped into scalding hot water this week for suggesting Weinstein’s victims were to blame due to how they acted and dressed. Will Affleck response to McGowan’s harsh assertion? Will he have anything else to say on this controversial topic? And what disturbing piece of information will we learn next about Harvey Weinstein and/or those who know him well?

Dance Moms Season 7 Episode 24 Recap: Farewell, Abby Lee Miller?

It’s hard to believe that The Irreplaceables were once part of the ALDC. What a difference a few weeks makes.  On Dance Moms Season 7 Episode 24 , the two teams went head-to-head at the FIERCE National Dance Competition, and Abby Lee Miller struggled to come to terms with a significant betrayal.  Watch Dance Moms Season 7 Episode 24 Online When the episode got underway, Ashlee wasted no time in going after Camille to let everyone know that she is nothing more than a snake. The big issue stemmed from Camille apparently saying Brynn was lying about her and Camryn making an appearance at the ALDC.  The terrible thing about all of this was the message they were sending to the swarm of young fans who were looking at them swear at each other.  The ladies retreated to continue to press the girls to do well at the competition. The Irreplaceables’ moms wanted this to be the thing that defined them for being away from Abby.  They wanted to achieve a win without the influence of her. Things did not get much better when Aisha showed up to find that the girls were still defying her.  She thinks the girls are struggling because they do not know much about how the industry works. This was not exactly what they wanted to hear, and it caused a lot of drama for them.  Kira took issue with the way Aisha was talking about everyone and felt like she was too hard on them. In reality, Aisha wanted them to be a success because it would look bad on her if they did not.  Aisha then took aim at Kalani for not paying attention to what she was saying. She worried that the girls would not be able to separate themselves from the pack if they went to an audition without their mothers.  Elsewhere, Abby appeared to speak to the ALDC mothers and went on another screaming session about how she made all of the others a lot of money by letting them be a part of her team.  But, why is she blaming them when she’s clearly the one who cannot handle having some money without causing some drama for herself? Things then went into overdrive when Abby bickered with a producer because she did not want to be in the audience to face the other mothers and disappears.  While Abby is hiding in the shadows, everyone learns the ALDC is doing “Where Have all the Children Gone?” and everyone seemed mad about it.  Things took another epic turn when the mothers threw sass at one another and went as low as trashing their daughters. The Irreplaceables take second place proving they are not the force they were with the ALDC.  When does Abby Lee Miller really leave? Next week, probably.  What do you think about all the action? Kylie Jenner Hides Her Baby Bump!

It’s no secret that Kylie Jenner is pregnant , but even though the entire world (barring those who’ve spent the past few weeks in a coma) knows it, she refuses to comment. But while questions linger over how long she could possibly avoid commenting on this non-secret, no one seriously doubts the reports of Kylie’s pregnancy. Especially not now that she’s starting to tease fans and followers with new photos where she’s hiding her baby bump! Kylie Jenner is going to become a mother at 20. Travis Scott is going to become a father at 25. While people have — and even still do — sometimes have children at even younger ages, that doesn’t mean that these two are necessarily at the optimal age to become parents. Thankfully, Kylie did not plan to get pregnant with her rebound boyfriend so early in their relationship. It just happened. (Based upon when she’s due, it looks like they were dating for maybe a month when Kylie got pregnant) There’s a lot of responsibility involved in becoming a mother that Kylie, who was just 19 years old when she got pregnant late last spring, hasn’t ever experienced before. Her maternal instincts are probably on point because, well, she’s the only one of the Kardashian clan who seems properly obsessed with her dogs.  But instinct isn’t going to make you a great parent. Experience does. Patience does. And so does knowing when to ask for help. We’ve heard a lot about how Kylie took all of those into account and will be relying a lot on her extended family for support, but until that Kylie pregnancy announcement officially comes , we still haven’t heard that in Kylie’s own words. But Kylie isn’t leaving folks empty-handed, because she’s sharing a couple of new photos and they are … conspicuously dissimilar to her usual pics. If we didn’t know that Kylie’s pregnant, we’d want to dismiss this as her being goofy — but we might wonder if she might be hiding something under that voluminous fabric. That shirt probably isn’t even all that large, but on Kylie’s tiny frame, it’s a circus tent. The perfect way to hide a baby bump while making absolutely certain that the entire world knows that you’re hiding a baby bump. It looks like, even though Kylie is several months into her pregnancy, she’s really not accumulating much weight gain around her neck and face. (And whatever pregnancy weight might be there, she’s concealing with angles and makeup and lighting — that’s kind of her area of expertise, or whatever) Baby bumps aren’t so easy to hide, especially when you’ve built your brand upon wearing curve-hugging outfits while sporting a super flat tummy. Honestly, this looks almost insanely comfortable. A lot of Kylie’s outfits (not all of them — but a lot of them) look like they’re great for photographs and general sexiness but not much else. This bigass shirt, though, looks all kinds of comfy. And, as Kylie makes clear in both of these photos, she’s still keeping up her nail game. We look forward to whenever Kylie shares her story about how this pregnancy is treating her and what her experience has been like. But we can assume that it’s, at the very least, not one of those awful debilitating pregnancies where you can’t even get dressed. It’s hard to see her going the extra mile to wear nails like these if she’s about to collapse back into bed or go running for the bathroom as soon as she’s done posing. Even though we know so much about Kylie’s pregnancy, a lot of questions linger. What we’re most eager to discover is what sort of ridiculous Kardashian name Kylie is going to choose, and if she’ll be starting a gimmick to follow with all of her children. Is a wedding in the future for Kylie and Travis? We’ve heard rumors, but we want to hear all of this from Kylie. For now, we guess, she’d rather just tease us all. Which might mean that she has something major planned for the big reveal. View Slideshow: Kim, Khloe and Kylie: All the Intel on ALL the Babies!

Go here to read the rest:

T he Amber Alert may have gone silent but the desperate search continued on Monday for 3-year-old Sherin Mathews of Richardson, Texas, NBC News Dallas-Fort Worth reports. She’s been missing since approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday when her father, Wesley Mathews , reportedly ordered her to stand next to a tree, located across an alley from their home, for not drinking her milk.
