Source: Jesse Grant / Getty Jesse Williams and his soon-to-be ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee have had a bit of a messy split. After previous reports that Aryn wanted sole custody of their kids and the reported backlash from Jesse , it seems the two have finally come to equal terms. According to TMZ , the estranged couple will have joint legal custody of their two children. This means that all decisions regarding their kids’ health, welfare, and upbringing will be made together. The documents for the agreement were obtained by TMZ, which reportedly says neither parent can make derogatory statements about the other in front of the kids. They also can’t use their kids as messengers. The agreement also states that neither Jesse nor Aryn “shall introduce a person with whom he or she has a romantic relationship to the children until the relationship has endured at least 6 months.” The agreement doesn’t describe the physical custody arrangement. Jesse has been romantically linked to Minka Kelly , who could part of the tension between Jesse and Aryn. But thankfully, when it came to their kids, they were able to put differences aside to equally support them. We’ll keep you updated if more divorce drama should surface.
In Real Housewives terms, Tamra Judge seems to be fighting a war on all fronts, at any given time. Her friend-turned-archenemy might still be Vicki Gunvalson, but Tamra seems to be always willing to go off on somebody else. Well, according to an insider’s report, it sounds like Tamra has been faking it all just to stay relevant. Sometimes, you hear a guy drone about how all of his ex-girlfriends were “crazy,” and by the time that he starts describing the fifth or sixth girl, you want to point out that the common factor in all of these relationships was the guy . Well, that’s how we feel about Tamra Judge. She does not get along with a lot of her fellow Real Housewives of Orange County . Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge’s rivalry is intense and an ongoing storyline of the series. Once, they were friends, but competition for the spotlight drove a wedge between them until they became enemies. It’s even been reported that Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson refuse to film together , meaning that their rivalry storyline became so real that it could damage The Real Housewives of Orange County . It was said that both women knew that they wouldn’t be fired and were leveraging their fame to avoid unpleasant encounters. But while you wonder if they’d both stay on top if the camera didn’t show them at each other’s throats, you have to remember that Tamra seems willing to freak out at anyone these days. We’ve all seen Tamra freak out, even at friends like Peggy Sulahian. Recently, we saw Tamra Judge eviscerated by her daughter Sidney Barney , who exposed her mother by revealing accusations of years of neglect, frightening emotional abuse, an inability to respect anyone’s wishes, and a willingness to exploit her children to feed her own fame. Well, it looks like that’s not all that Tamra is willing to do to stay famous. RadarOnline reports that, according to their source, Tamra Judge fakes fights in front of the cameras just to stay relevant. Isn’t that sad? “Tamra literally starts fights with everyone because she knows that it is the only way that people will keep talking about her.” Well, that seems pretty true. People are only going to have so much to say about Tamra’s, like, exercise recommendations or whatever is left to Tamra if you take away all of the fights. “It seems pointless to everyone on the cast and her friends. She claims to have so many issues with everyone on the cast, and insists that it is everyone else’s fault.” Isn’t that so typical? The thing is that, while playing up conflicts or even creating them just for drama and to continue collecting a paycheck would totally fit with justa bout any reality series … we’re not sure how deliberately Tamra does this. We’re sure that she exaggerates for the camera — who doesn’t? — but Tamra seems to have some issues that cause her to lash out hurtfully at people. Not all monsters are made by cameras, people. Now, let’s be clear: Tamra may be a less-than-likable person and, from what her daughter says, a truly terrible mother … (Tamra has been milking the estrangement from her daughter for sympathy for ages, which is the exact opposite of what Sidney asked her to do) … But we were saddened to hear about her skin cancer diagnosis . That’s no reason for anyone to try to guilt Sidney into trying to rekindle a relationship with her mother, though. And a melanoma diagnosis is not an excuse for Tamra’s bad behavior for the camera. Vicki Gunvalson isn’t exactly blameless for their feud, but Tamra can’t possibly be the victim in every single conflict. Either she has some serious social aggression issues … or Tamra is faking it to make it.
CNN correspondent Rosa Flores asked a woman by the name of Danielle about her experience protecting her children in the flood waters just moments after she arrived at the shelter. To provide context, this was after waiting for 36 hours for help from emergency services which never came, forcing this woman to wade through 4-feet of contaminated flood runoff to a nearby gas station to hail a cab to the help center. SMH. This mother has been through the ringer with her two kids, and clearly wasn’t feeling being asked about her situation before having a chance to get her family settled in. Her frustration is pretty understandable. Twitter/Getty
When Angelina Jolie did her big Vanity Fair interview, she probably imagined that everyone would devour the quotes about Brad Pitt and the divorce and then move on. Except it hasn’t really turned out that way, has it? Sure, at first we analyzed the hell out of the quotes about Brad , but then we started to notice that there was something a little more scandalous tucked away elsewhere in the interview. Specifically, it seemed like there was a story about Angelina traumatizing some poor Cambodian children to cast her new movie, First They Killed My Father. And when we say the story was tucked away, we mean it — it was basically a short summary of a story she told, without many direct quotes from Angelina herself. According to the story as it was originally published in Vanity Fair, Angelina and the rest of the crew wanted as much authenticity as possible in the movie, so they looked for child actors in orphans and slums. When they’d gotten enough kids gathered, they played a “game” in which “they put money on the table and asked the child to think of something she needed the money for, and then to snatch it away.” “The director would pretend to catch the child, and the child would have to come up with a lie.” The story outraged many, many people — after all, the idea of dangling money in front of poor children just to snatch it away doesn’t sound like the kindest thing that’s ever happened. And when you throw in Angelina’s anecdote about the child they cast as the lead, a girl named Srey Moch, and how she cried and cried about the “game” because she imagined using the money for her grandfather’s funeral … Well, it’s just not great. In a statement released after the backlash began , Angelina insisted that the children were very aware that they were playing a game, and that the money used was obviously fake. “The suggestion that real money was taken from a child during an audition is false and upsetting,” she said. “I would be outraged myself if this had happened.” She said that every precaution was taken to ensure the physical and mental wellbeing of the kids on set, and that all the fuss was over nothing — the story was taken out of context. But now, Vanity Fair is backing their original story. According to the magazine, they were contacted by Angelina’s lawyers after the story began circulating, asking them to run a statement about the casting game, both on their site and in next month’s issue. The statement they submitted claimed that the crew “showed the children the camera and sound recording material, explaining to them that they were going to be asked to act out a part.” “The children were not tricked as some have suggested,” the statement continued. “All of the children auditioning were made aware of the fictional aspects of the exercise.” “We apologize for any misunderstanding.” So that’s what Angelina’s lawyers wanted Vanity Fair to release. But what they actually released was the full transcript of that section of the interview. And it’s pretty darn interesting. According to the transcript, Angelina began the story by explaining that they went to “what they call a slum school” to find the lead for the movie. “And I think,” she said, “I mean they didn’t know. We just went in and — you just go in and do some auditions with the kids. And it’s not really an audition with children.” “We had this game where it would be — and I wasn’t there and they didn’t know what they were really doing.” She explained that “They kind of said, ‘Oh, a camera’s coming up and we want to play a game with you.'” “And the game for that character was ‘We’re going to put some money on the table. Think of something you need that money for.'” Sometimes they tempted the kids with money, sometimes they did it with cookies, but then they would “catch” them stealing, and they told the kids “We’d like you to try to lie that you didn’t have it.” At no point did she say that the money was fake, and at no point did she stress that the children were well-aware that the game wasn’t real. Which isn’t to say that none of that happened — she also says that she wasn’t even there during all of this. But because of this, Vanity Fair’s official statement reads that they stand by the story as it was published. Sorry ’bout it, Angie. View Slideshow: 13 Reasons Angelina Jolie is the Antichrist
Matt Roloff is not about to take a single moment of grandparent-hood for granted. At least not until little Jackson Kyle pees all over his brand new sweater. We’re just kidding. In all seriousness, the Little People, Big World star has shared a couple new photos of his grandson online, while also making it clear to followers that he could not be any more in love. “I’m the luckiest grandpa ever.. I get to see Jackson almost every single day.. often several times each day,” Roloff wrote as a caption to the Facebook photo above on Sunday. He then made a point of giving props to his son and his daughter-in-law for ensuring their child spends a lot of time with other members of the family. “Thank you, Zach and Tori, for coming to the farm so often,” Matt added. And just in case you thought it couldn’t get any more precious than the snapshot featured here, Matt went ahead and posted the following image on Instagram: HOLY HILARIOUS CUTENESS, right?!? “Forget about it!! Spoken in a deep raspy voice,” Matt captioned this picture. The veteran reality star previously gushed over Jackson in a video that featured the three-month old talking… sort of . He and his ex-wife, Amy Roloff, simply can’t get enough of the family’s first grandchild. And we can’t blame them! Not one bit! Just look at this precious little fella: View Slideshow: Jackson Roloff Baby Photos: OMG! He’s So Cute! Elsewhere in major Roloff news, daughter Molly is getting married on August 5. The ceremony and reception will take place at the family farm, with Radar Online warning that a bit of drama may ensue. Why? Because both Matt and Amy will be bringing their relatively new significant others to the event. Amy will attend with boyfriend Chris Malek, while Caryn Chandler will be on Matt’s arm when he gives his only daughter away. Will this really be a big deal, however? Amy and Matt split in 2015 after nearly three decades of wedded bliss and both have reacted to the break-up in mature fashion. “After 27 years of marriage, it is with great sadness that we have come to the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the Roloff parents wrote at the time. They continued: “We are proud of what we have accomplished together, including raising our four wonderful children, who have grown to become remarkable adults and building our strong and ongoing successful businesses. “Our kids and our ever-growing family, and the love and support we have for them, will be our priority. We will continue to work together side-by-side in the daily responsibilities for our many current ventures. “We would like to thank our family, friends, and all our fans for their continued support and understanding during this difficult time.” View Slideshow: Molly Roloff Celebrates Bridal Shower: Kiss the Miss Goodbye! [Photos] To date, Amy and Matt have stuck by these words. They’ve always put their children first and we see no reason why that will change on the most important day of one of their children’s lives. We just hope Molly shares a few wedding photos online at some point next week. We really want to see her dress!
Casey Affleck has been dogged by sexual harassment allegations for ages, and there’s no telling how much of a toll that’s taken on his marriage. When Casey Affleck and his wife, Summer Phoenix, separated in the spring of 2016, they did so fairly quietly and without the sort of scandal that you expect to see when Afflecks are having marital problems. Well, this situation is officially past “marital problems” … because Summer Phoenix has filed for divorce. Casey Affleck, who is 41 years old, and Summer Phoenix, who is 38, have two sons together. Children and concerns about their emotional well being and adjustments are a complication in a divorce, even after more than a year of separation. Indiana Affleck is 13 years old. Atticus Affleck is 9 years old. (You remember — the children Casey Affleck famously forgot in his Oscars speech ) Summer Phoenix is Joaquin Phoenix’s sister, by the way — Joaquin originally set the two of them up. Casey Affleck is, of course, Ben Affleck’s (worse) brother. Whatever sense of commonality the two felt as less-famous siblings in famous families clearly wasn’t enough to keep them together forever, though. E! reports that, in her divorce filing, Summer Phoenix cites “irreconcilable differences.” Honestly, it’s technically nobody’s business why people are getting divorced — to the point that it’s weird that couples even have to cite reasons that they’re ending their marriage unless it’s a contentious divorce. That said … “irreconcilable differences’ is vague as hell and could mean just about anything. Like it just means that they couldn’t get along, basically. That’s why people divorce in the first place, folks. But clearly they’re not entirely at odds. Summer Phoenix is seeking joint legal custody and joint physical custody of the boys with Casey Affleck. She is also seeking spousal support. Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix met in 1995 after their more famous siblings had worked together. They were engaged by 2003. It wasn’t until a couple of years after Summer gave birth to Indiana in 2004 that the couple married in May of 2006. They separated just under eight years after marrying. For Hollywood, that’s basically a 20-year marriage. Considering that their relationship began in 1995, they had a lengthy relationship by any standards. But even long-lasting relationships where both parties come from similar worlds, share similar values, and take years to get to know one another before getting engaged or married don’t guarantee happily-ever-afters. We can’t help thinking that a factor behind this separation and divorce may have been Casey Affleck’s alleged sexual harassment. The accusations that Casey Affleck used his position as director to sexually harass multiple women working for him got him slammed on Twitter , but Some of the accusations just sound like poor judgment — allegedly, Casey instructed one man working for him to show his penis to a woman who was working for him. Definitely inappropriate and definitely poor judgment, but when we’re talking about directors and sex crime accusations, that’s a far cry from Woody Allen. Some of the accusations were more serious, including allegations of him grabbing one in an effort to intimidate her into having sex with him in a hotel room. If someone feels that “no” isn’t a safe answer, then they cannot consent. Obviously. Even if Summer Phoenix heard these stories and thought to herself that all of these women were conspiring together to lie just for the fun of it, that Casey had just been innocently flirting with them … well, it wouldn’t seem innocent to Summer, his wife. And if Summer heard these allegations and thought “oh no, what sort of man have I married?!” Well, divorce sounds like exactly the right response to that. But, for all that we know, their divorce has been a long time coming. Sometimes couples just grow apart. View Slideshow: 27 Most Shocking Hollywood Divorces
Shannon Beador was stressed out, and put on some weight. She’s a human and it happens. In her unhappiness over the situation, Shannon seemed to be accusing The Real Housewives of Orange County costar Vicki Gunvalson of “causing” the weight gain, which did not go over well. Fortunately, Shannon’s nowchanged her tune, and she says that she knows exactly where to point the finger. Shannon Beador faced some backlash for blaming her weight gain on Vicki Gunvalson . “This is stress!” Shannon exclaimed, referring to her torso. “And that is Vicki Gunvalson!” We’re not questioning that Vicki Gunvalson might be stress-inducing. Or that stress can contribute to weight gain, because it absolutely can. But drawing a direct link between her figure and Vicki was pushing the boundaries of absurdity a little, you know? Like, Vicki Gunvalson is many things, but she isn’t a witch who goes around cursing her costars to gain weight. (As far as we know) So unless Vicki has been feeding Shannon in her sleep or interfering with her DNA (genetics are usually the real culprits behind fat storage, anyway), we don’t see how Fortunately, Shannon isn’t actually as disconnected from reality as she seemed. Shannon is taking full accountability, now, addressing her weight gain in an interview. Which is good, because she got blasted by people for deflecting the “blame.” “I just went off the wagon a little.” No, she doesn’t mean boozing it up, though that’s a great way to pack on the pounds. She clearly means food: “I’m the one that put the stuff in my mouth.” ( That’s a quote that could be fun out of context) She’s been fairly upfront about her struggle, and even released a statement about her weight gain over Instagram: “So let’s just get to it. Yes, I have gained weight. A lot of weight. About 40 pounds to be exact.” That was over an eight month period. Gaining five pounds in a month might not be a big deal, but it is if the next seven months go the same way. “I have not had plastic surgery or fillers, it’s just plain and simple weight gain.” Good way to shut down rumors of surgery-gone-wrong. “There are multiple factors that have contributed to my size and it will be addressed this season on the show.” That must be so hard, right? “To those people who intend to write cruel or derogatory comments to me, I want to let you know you will be blocked and the comment deleted.” That’s the best way to deal with body-shamers and trolls anyway. “Gaining weight and trying to take it off is a struggle that most women will face at some point in their lives.” Most men, too — but unlike women, men’s perceived value in society is seldom equated with their appearance. (Thanks, patriarchal cultural norms!) “I am hopeful that my fans and viewers of the show will be supportive of my journey.” Of course they should be supportive. Whether she’s successful in losing the weight (she’s already knocked off eight pounds through diet and exercise) or not, people shouldn’t body-shame her. “I am very grateful and thankful to those people that have already reached out to me with their kind thoughts” It’s good to have a support mechanism. If you’ll recall, the original source of stress for Shannon Beador was rumors that her husband was abusing her. Rumors coming from, or at least spread by, Vicki Gunvalson. (If true, that would be awful — and only further reason to support Shannon Beador, but Shannon seems horrified and enraged and calls the rumors “false”) Shannon was super upset about the allegations and how, if made public (and they were), they might impact her husband and her children. So she did some stress-eating. Vicki Gunvalson does seem like a toxic person who seems to create rifts with everyone she knows, even former friends like Tamra Judge . But the stress-eating was definitely Shannon’s doing. It was her choice, conscious or not, for how to cope. It’s good that she’s acknowledging that, because that’s the only way to move forward and return to the figure that she wants.
R. Kelly is accused of running a cult in which he keeps women captive in his Chicago and Atlanta homes, forcing them to provide him with sexual favors and controlling every aspect of their lives. So stated a bombshell report by Buzzfeed last week, which quoted parents of these women that were understandably concerned for their daughters’ safety. A lawyer for Kelly has said her client is ” alarmed and disturbed ” by these false allegations, vehemently denying any such cult exists. But here’s the thing: some thing is clearly going on. A woman named Jocelyn Savage has spoken out in defense of Kelly, claiming she is not banned from leaving his home and is simply staying their out of her own volition. She explained in an interview with TMZ this week that her own father even dropped her off at Kelly’s awhile back in order for the singer to help further Savage’s music career. But Savage refuses to state her actual location. Moreover, a relative of another woman under Kelly’s quasi control tells this same website that Kelly lures his so-called victims in by lavishing them with expensive gifts. Yes, this person claims, the women are free to leave. However, Kelly uses a “calculating, methodical process to groom naive girls” into becoming dependent on him. He also takes their smartphones, this person alleges. Are Kelly’s actions illegal? Maybe not. Do we know for certain what is taking place inside his residences? No. Is Kelly one effed up dude with serious character issues who has been accused on numerous occasions of sexual misconduct, nearly always with women much younger than he is? Yes. Along this latter line, a woman who refers to herself as “Kim” spoke to Jezebel about the entire cult rumor and outlined what goes on in R. Kelly’s shady universe. She says she met Kelly about a year ago and has flown out to spend time with him on about 10 occasions. They’ve carried on a sexual relationship. As a self-described “sometime member of his entourage,” this is what Kim has to say about Kelly’s harem: HOW HE CONTROLS HIS WOMEN: When we’re out, we’re not allowed to look at anyone. We have to keep our heads down. If we’re back in his studio sitting on the couches and he has friends across the room at the bar we can’t look at each other or communicate with each other… If we’re in an Uber and we chat up the driver we’re supposed to tell him this girl did this or that. He’s very controlling and manipulative. He likes to be in control. WHAT CAN THE GIRLS SAY TO EACH OTHER? No compliments are allowed, Kim says. I was looking at [a woman who walked by while out to lunch once] and he kicked my chair because I was looking up. Just super possessive. It’s a strange kind of dynamic. HE MAKES SEXUAL DEMANDS: He never makes threats, but the girls are so eager to do whatever he wants. He’ll wake us out of a dead sleep and say to this girl, ‘Suck my d-ck,’ or to these two girls, ‘Kiss on each other,’ and immediately without thought they jump right to it. It’s just bizarre. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before honestly. THIS IS A TYPE OF BRAINWASHING: It’s not non-consensual, I guess. But I don’t know if they even realize the situation they’re in is wrong. HIS PUNISHMENTS INCLUDE… … the following, apparently? We’re just going to copy Jezebel’s full entry for this example because it needs to be spelled out in detail: Kim said that she and the girl were instructed by Kelly to ‘take off your clothes and act like you miss each other.’ He got out his iPad and started filming, she said, but was dissatisfied by the 19-year-old’s performance. He told Kim to sit on the couch and took the 19-year-old into another room. Twenty minutes later, he called Kim in. Kim knocked in the proper way, then walked in to find the younger girl nude except for one of Kelly’s bigger pieces of jewelry, a heavy chain. He had his iPad recording and she was naked except for a big chain and she was running laps from one end of the room to the other. She was running laps around the room and apologizing. She kept saying, ‘I’ve been bad, I’m sorry Daddy,’ shit like that. And I’m standing there and she starts apologizing to me. No one from R. Kelly’s team has responded to these latest allegations. We’ll let you know if they ever do. View Slideshow: 21 Celebrities You Probably Want to Keep Away From Your Children
