Daycare Workers Fired For Refusing Transgender Child’s Name Two daycare workers are suing on the basis of discrimination, alleging that they were fired due to their Christian faith after refusing to recognize a transgender child’s new identity. Via MailOnline : Two Christian childcare workers who were fired after refusing to call a transgender six year old by a boy’s name are suing the center for discrimination. Madeline Kirksey and Akesha Bogany Wyatt were sacked from the Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center in Katy, Texas, a week ago after the pupil, who had attended school for four months as a girl, began identifying as a boy. According to Adam Taylor, Kirksey’s lawyer, the child’s parents – both of whom are male – took their daughter home on a Friday, and sent her back to school the following Monday as a boy. Taylor says the child’s hair had been cut into a masculine style, and the formerly female student had been given a more classically masculine name. However, Kirksey and Wyatt refused to go along with the name change, and said they felt uncomfortable speaking to other young children about transgender issues. Kirksey also apparently feels that the child’s gay parents are pushing their daughter into being transgender: Kirksey added that she feels the male parents of the student are forcing the issue of gender on to their child, which she disagrees with. Taylor said: ‘Madeline’s rights have been violated. Literally she was sacrificed on the alter of political correctness. “It is not just Madeline and it is not just this school that we are concerned about. We need to send a strong message that Christians need to push back on this agenda.” We understand people holding on to their own set of beliefs…but is it really this teacher’s place to grandstand on this child’s struggle? On the other hand, it doesn’t seem necessary to fire her for being uncooperative…surely the child could have been moved to another class. FoxNews

Former US senator and prolific actor Fred Thompson has passed away at the age of 73. His family broke the news in a statement issued to several media outlets earlier today: “It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief that we share the passing of our brother, father and grandfather who died peacefully Nashville surrounded by his family,” said the statement. “Fred was the same man on the floor of the Senate, the movie studio, or the town square of his home.” According to the statement, Thompson died following a recurrence of lymphoma. After beginning his career as an attorney, Thompson alternated between politics and acting for much of his adult life. Thompson served as a Republican senator for eight years. Once considered a rising star of the Senate, Thompson retired after his term expired in 2003, stating that he “didn’t have the heart” for another term. Thompson launched a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, but dropped out after attracting little support in early primaries. As an actor, Thompson is perhaps best known for his role as District Attorney Arthur Branch on Law & Order and its spinoff series SVU, Trial By Jury and Criminal Intent. In addition to portraying Branch from 2002 to 2007, Thompson starred in dozens of feature films, including Cape Fear, In the Line of Fire and Die Hard 2. Louisiana School Principal And Coach Don Racist Costumes Louisiana locals are angry after a racist photo featuring two educators at a costume party earlier this month. Via WTNH reports: Iota Middle School Principal Lee Ann Wall and her husband Jeptha Wall, who is a coach at Crowley High School, appear in the image. Their costumes are described as “People of Walmart.” Jeptha can be seen wearing a red bandana around his waist with a gun tucked into his belt and money coming out of his pocket. In front of Lee Ann is a basket full of black and white baby dolls and sign that read, “You wait on pay day, I be waiting for da first of da month!” The photo was sent to KLFY by a viewer who called it a “display of classism and racism.” But not everyone thinks it should be taken so seriously. Penny Fontenot lives in Iota and says sometimes a costume is just that: a costume. “If they’re teaching your children right from wrong in the schools, what does a costume have to do with it?” The news teams showed the pic to several other folks in Acadia Parish. They believe the costume choice crossed the line. “Wow, okay. So what is she trying to depict? Somebody who’s on welfare? If that is what she was trying to depict that’s even worse.” Alan Honersucker told KLFY’s Dalfred Jones. Nathan Kresge, who also live in Iota said, “To make fun of people that just can’t afford a better way of life, to make fun of them?
