China’s One Dog Policy

World’s most populous nation China has tremendously reduced its population by 400 million. China’s “One Child Policy” was established by leader Deng Xiaoping in 1979 to limit population growth. This year is the eleventh year since the policy was erected.  The government was pleased with the result thus they have created another “One Dog Policy”. One-dog policy is a policy implemented in 2006, restricting residents of Beijing, China to one dog per family. It also prohibits families from raising large (over 14 in or 35.5 cm tall) or ferocious dogs. Only three percent of dogs are vaccinated in China.  Many people die due to rabies. Beijing announced a one dog per household in nine zones throughout the city. Anyone with more than one dog will be clubbed along with the dog. Non-dog owners seem to be in favor of the move. If people cannot manage their dogs properly, then unfortunately, someone has to tell them how to do it. China’s One Dog Policy is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

A Problem in Chyna: Joanie Laurer Accused of Assault

The United States might owe billions of dollars in debt to China, but the celebrity gossip world owes even more to Chyna. The former professional wrestler, whose real name is Joanie Laurer, made news in the past for multiple sex tapes and steroid allegations. She’s been a boon to tabloids around the country. Now, Laurer is making headlines again… for yet another scandalous incident: Gabriela Targos, a (former?) friend of Laurer’s, claims that Joanie beat her up Saturday night at the Sherman Oaks motel. According to Targos, she simply invited Laurer over for the evening – only to watch in horror as the troubled Z-lister snapped, allegedly punching Targos in the face, dragging her by the hair and beating her with a wire hanger. Targos escaped the room and immediately reported the incident to police. They are looking into it. They might also wanna look into the photo above. That ain’t right.

Beijing Uses Deodorants To Sweeten Foul Smelling Dumps

Beijing is using water cannons to fire smell-busting liquid on its worst-offending landfill sites. Because of the upcoming warmer weather in China’s capital, it caused garbage to rot even faster and leads to a nasty stench in some parts of the city. In one suburban area, workers filled 100 high-pressure hoses with liquid deodorant in order to lessen the awful smell. However, tactic appears to be having mixed results. Some of the local residents complain about the smell. It is still so bad that they are waking up coughing at night. Even they are soundly asleep, they can wake up coughing. Everyone opens their windows in the summer. The deodorant cannons are the inspiration of the Gao’antun Garbage Landfill Plant. After a dousing from the spray, which is made from plant extracts, the garbage is then covered with odor-eating sheets. A machine is also use to extract the gasses from the garbage and later on use them to generate electricity. This process reduces the pollution at the landfill to the lowest level. Beijing’s Gao’antun Garbage Landfill Plant Uses Deodorants To Fight Off Garbage Stench

Every country has a hard time battling with its waste disposal. In Beijing, China, uses giant deodorant sprays to the growing waste accumulation and its stench.  As the weather goes up,the more waste to rot and the fouler the smell gets. Gao’antun Garbage Landfill Plant employees uses more than 100 cannons for the job after local officials were forced to apologize for the foul smells coming from the waste dump. Officially termed “high pressure long-range deodorant sprays”, they blast a liquid created from plant extract onto waste arriving at the site and can reach up to 15 metres away. The biological compound neutralizes the smell. The fragrance-covered rubbish is then buried under odor-eating covering sheets and further deodorant is sprayed on top. Other devices also been introduced, including a machine that extracts the foul-smelling gases and uses them to generate electricity. But waste management experts have expressed doubts over the deodorant scheme. “The cannons are stench-neutralizing tools that should be used under special circumstances. But we cannot keep blasting all day long,” said Nie Yongfeng, Professor of environmental and engineering sciences at Tsinghua University. “If these cannons keep blasting every day, they will definitely cause noise pollution to the surrounding area.” Gao’antun landfill is just one of many sites struggling to process the mountains of rubbish produced by China’s heaving capital. Beijing’s 17.6 million residents produce 18,400 tonnes of household garbage daily, 90% of which is dumped in the 13 landfills dispersed around the city, according to state-run news agency Xinhua.
