Vivica Fox is the latest celeb to take issue with Stacey Dash’s Mitt Romney endorsement , but it doesn’t have anything to do with which candidate she chose to support. During an interview with The Grio Vivica Fox gave her two cents on Dash’s endorsement saying: “I don’t know why she [Stacey Dash] had to do a photo shoot in a Baywatch red swimsuit with the boobs and the whole flag behind her,” Fox said. “And she doesn’t have a job or something to promote right now. I just didn’t get it. She’s entitled to her own opinion but it was just surprising that first of all she was a Republican, and that she did it the way that she did. Most politicians when you support them, you try to support them with class, you don’t need to do a swimsuit shoot.” Considering we’ve seen Vivica in some revealing outfits, is this a case of the pot calling the kettle black or does she have a point? Do you agree with her or is she hating? We had to go back and look at the original tweet for reference and while we don’t think the outfit is all that revealing, Vivica does kinda have a point.
We’ll give the man credit for trying to break out into a different role, but Tyler’s performance proved to be a disappointment. According to The Hollywood Reporter : You almost feel sorry for Tyler Perry, stepping out of his own universe for the first time to try to expand his range and finding himself in something as thoroughly dismal as Alex Cross. An unpleasant film from the sadistic behavior of its loathsome villain to the grubbiness of its visual palette, this stands as a substandard attempt to bring novelist James Patterson’s intuitive cop back to the big screen. All the same, it will be interesting to observe if much of Perry’s generally loyal audience turns out to see him in a major change of pace, as well as if nonfans are curious to check him as a potential action hero. Whatever the opening is, legs are doubtful. Among other things, Alex Cross features a mano-a-mano climax that is a strong contender for the title of worst major fight scene ever to grace a major motion picture. The lighting is dark, it’s framed so tightly you can’t tell who’s hitting whom or what’s going on, and the camera’s intense jitters make it a virtual parody of filmmakers trying to make something exciting by shaking the camera. It’s incredible one of the six producers didn’t notice this and demand a retake. Not directly based on any single one of Patterson’s novels about the brilliant investigator and forensic psychologist but credited nonetheless as an adaptation of Cross, the script by Mark Moss and Kerry Williamson takes the man back to his pre-Washington and FBI days, when he was a cop on the Detroit police force (though some might notice that, for financial reasons, the film was shot largely in Cleveland). This repositioning suits the fact that Perry is about 20 years younger than Morgan Freeman was when he played the role in Kiss the Girls in 1997 and Along Came a Spider four years later. Towering over the other actors (he’s 6-foot-5), Perry lumbers around with a degree of charisma but a lack of emotional range or variety in line delivery. Although watchable and certainly different from the usual run of leading men, he’s not really all that interesting in this character. Fox is plenty convincing as the cretin without the merest morsel of humanity, while the other actors just cash their paychecks, notably Jean Reno as a French industrialist with an unexplained penchant for turning the city of Detroit around. Britney Spears was smokin’ that Teena!?!? Former manager Sam Lufti claims the pop princess went the bald route to cover up her junkie ways… Via NY Post reports : Britney Spears didn’t shave her head in a fit of rage — she did it so there would be no way to trace her drug use, a lawyer for her former manager claimed in court. Joseph Schleimer opened Sam Lutfi’s libel case against Spears’ parents and conservators by showing dramatic photos of the pop superstar with a shaved head and striking an SUV with an umbrella. Schleimer suggested to the LA jury that Spears was afraid a judge would order a test of her hair. If drugs were found, the judge could take away her two sons and give custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline. Schleimer claimed Lutfi tried to save the meth-addled Spears from a mental breakdown but lost control — and was blamed for her being hospitalized and placed under a court-ordered conservator. During a break when the jury was not present, Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera warned Schleimer that his bold claims had to be supported by evidence. Schleimer said he would prove them through either “testimony or documentary evidence.” He told the jury that one of the first things he did when he was hired as Spears’ manager was to have drug-sniffing dogs scour her hilltop home — and they found crystal meth in a trap door. Spears almost certainly won’t testify because she remains under a conservatorship overseen by a judge who has ordered her not to appear for trial or a deposition. But Spears’ parents, Jamie and Lynne, both sat in the audience. Yesterday, a lawyer for Jamie told jurors his client went to heroic lengths to save Britney from drug addiction and mental illness. Lutfi agreed to work for Spears in July 2007 for 15 percent of her earnings — but only if she stayed away from drugs, his lawyer said. The court case is the culmination of a long-running battle between Lutfi and Spears’ parents. He is seeking millions of dollars from Spears and her family, claiming her mother’s 2008 book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” lied about him drugging and isolating the pop star. He is also seeking a portion of the singer’s profits, claiming he was a key player in her 2007 album “Blackout.” Yikes… But meth is such a trashy drug. Oh wait, this is Britney Spears we’re talking about right?

You be the judge. According to CNN , there’s a sense of disapproval in the Latino community that’s similar to what African Americans felt when Tiana (Princess and the Frog) debuted: Disney’s first Latina princess, featured in the movie “Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess” has received backlash as well as support from the media outlets, especially the Latino community. Is Disney’s new princess a milestone for Latinos or a culturally irrelevant character? Disney’s spokeswoman provided a recent statement to CNN to help clarify what exactly makes “Princess Sofia” Latina: “The range of characters in ‘Sofia the First’ — and the actors who play them — are a reflection of Disney’s commitment to diverse, multicultural and inclusive storytelling, and the wonderful early reaction to ‘Sofia’ affirms that commitment. In the story, Sofia’s mother, Queen Miranda, was born in a fictitious land, Galdiz, a place with Latin influences. Miranda met Sofia’s father, Birk Balthazar, who hailed from the kingdom of Freezenberg, and together they moved to Enchancia, where Sofia was born.” “Sofia the First” is a television movie and series set to debut November 18 on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior, aimed at children ages 2-7. Sofia is a regular little girl whose life changes when her mother marries the king. Ariel Winter from “Modern Family” will voice Sofia and Sara Ramirez from “Grey’s Anatomy” will voice Queen Miranda. When news first hit in December 2011 that Disney was going to introduce their new and much younger princess, there was no mention of Sofia’s Latina background, let alone that her mother was from “a place with Latin influences” until this week. Yet this week, Disney announced that Sofia was indeed Latina. During a press tour, a blogger asked why Sofia’s mother, Miranda, had a darker complexion than her mother, leading to the big announcement of the Hispanic background: “She is Latina,” said Jamie Mitchell, Disney’s executive producer, during a press tour to Entertainment Weekly in an article published on Tuesday. According the the vice president of Disney Junior original programming, “We never actually call it out.” “It’s sort of a matter-of-fact situation rather than an overt thing.” However, this isn’t the first time there is controversy surrounding one of Disney’s princesses. In 2009, “The Princess and the Frog” received criticism from parents and the media for being set in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, it’s voodoo references and Disney’s first African-American princess, Tiana, falling in love with a Caucasian prince. Most agree Princess Tiana was a step in the right direction but many said there was still work to be done. Some Latinos applauded Disney’s new milestone and welcomed her with open arms on Twitter stating, “#Disney comes out with its first “#Latina Princess.” Its about time. It is 2012. #Hispanics” and “#Disney finally comes out with a #Latina princess” Some criticized what they saw as a lack of cultural signifiers or ethnic identity in the Sofia character. “If Disney were truly to finally step out and directly cater to the Latino community that has been crying out for decades for a Latina princess to represent our girls,” said Ana Flores, blogger for Spanglishbaby, “She would be as Latina as Tiana is black or as Pocahontas is Indian-American.” What do you think about Disney’s portrayal of ethnic characters? Another republican man made an out of pocket statement on abortion ! Nice to know so many of these GOP dudes are OB/GYN’s all of a sudden. According to The Huffington Post : Republican Rep. Joe Walsh, running against Democratic challenger Tammy Duckworth in Illinois, told reporters Thursday night that there should be no abortion exception for the “life of the mother” because “with modern technology and science, you can’t find one instance” in which a woman would actually die, according to a radio station. Walsh, of course, is flat wrong. “There is no such exception as life of the mother, and as far as health of the mother, same thing, with advances in science and technology,” Walsh said. Walsh’s remarks echo Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.), who similarly relied on an ignorance of science and medicine to proclaim a belief that women’s bodies are able to prevent pregnancy in cases of “legitimate rape.” GOP establishment figures attempted to cast Akin as a lone extremist whose views are outside the mainstream of the party. But Walsh’s fresh comments make that distinction more difficult to maintain. Walsh and Akin, along with GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan (Wis.) cosponsored legislation that would have redefined rape as “forcible rape.” Walsh previously defended Akin during what he called a “pile on” in comments reported by HuffPost partner Elmhurst Patch. “What he said was offensive, insulting and wrong, but I’m bothered by this rush to pile on,” Walsh said. “And I’m bothered by the silence of members of our own party to stand up for him.” Walsh wouldn’t have to go far to find a counter-example that undermines his medical theory. Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) has spoken movingly on the House floor about needing an emergency procedure to terminate a pregnancy that threatened her life. Scary to think how many of these old azz white men who “speak for us” feel this way about women’s rights! Images via facebook

Don’t mess with the Mrs.! Keyshia Cole’s Husband Defends Her Against Gucci Mane Late last week, R&B songstress Keyshia cole got thrown into the middle of a petty beef between rappers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy that began on a Power 105 radio interview and has since escalated to the internet and even to the airwaves. At what has been the height of the beef thus far, Gucci released a Jeezy diss track on Friday which included lyrics suggesting that Keyshia let Diddy smash back in the day while she was dating Jeezy. Keyshia put Gucci on blast herself last week over and denied the allegations, but now her baller-boo hubby Daniel has some words of his own for the situation: Mr. Gibson even went on to show us all exactly why he thinks his Mrs. gets caught in the crossfire so often.
