Jordin Sparks is featured in the new Americana issue of V Magazine on newsstands Thursday. Inside the magazine the beauty talks about her relationship with Whitney Houston, which was fostered on the set of their new movie “Sparkle”. Peep an excerpt below: Part musical, part cautionary tale, the movie tells the story of three sisters, Sparkle, Delores (Tika Sumpter) and Sister (Carmen Ejogo), whose successful Motown singing act disintegrates in the face of drug addiction and familial strife. Originally Houston had signed on solely as exectutive producer, but eventually agreed to also play the girls’ mother, Emma. “I think she was hesitant at first, and then she said, ‘Yeah, I really want to do that,” says Sparks. On set in Detroit at the first table read, Sparks, who has d worshiped the pop star since childhood, was appropriately tongue-tied. “She walked in and I was like, ‘This. Is. Awesome.’” But over time the two women grew close, bonding over a slavish devotion to the craft-services table and a near constant habit of singing under their breath. “One day, actually, she was walking behind me and singing ‘I Have Nothing,’” recalls Sparks. “And then she reached out and said, ‘I forgot I sang that. I was annoyed that day and just didn’t ant to do it. We ended up doing it in three takes!’” When Houston died unexpectedly in February, Sparks (who attended her memorial service) was grief-stricken. “She was always so full of light,” she says, choking back tears . “Every day… she would open the door and ask, ‘How are my babies this morning? Are my babies good? God is good. Praise the Lord.’” Still Sparks has no illusions about the demons that plagued her late costar (and, ironically, some of the films characters). “I can see how people can fall and people can flip or they can just get in with the wrong crowd.” Gotta love Jordin Sparks. We are really looking forward to “Sparkle” but we have to side-eye the writer for saying Whitney and Jordin had a “near slavish devotion” to craft services. Big SMH. Photo Credit: Mark Abrahams
BeyBey was interviewed on the red carpet of the Met Gala last night, and she said she definitely wants to give Blue Ivy siblings! Although some might find that hard to believe, the 30-year-old reveals that her recent fitness regimen consists of little time with a trainer. “I haven’t had much time in the gym [since the baby was born],” said Beyonce as she literally dropped jaws in a sheer, figure-hugging Givenchy Haute Couture gown. “I’ve been rehearsing, I have a show coming up and it’s my first show in a year.” At the very mention of her nearly four-month-old bundle of joy, Beyonce beams with pride, excited to talk all about little Blue Ivy, who she revealed was currently nestled safe and sound in the company of mother Tina Knowles and hubby Jay-Z. “I have such a full life,” she explains. “I feel like now I know the reason that I was born.” While she admits she isn’t sure when she might debut a new baby bump atop her already incredible figure, when that time rolls around, Beyonce isn’t ruling out a Brangelina size brood. “I definitely want to have more,” she proclaims. “I don’t know how many. God knows I dont know yet.” She actually said she doesn’t know how many, only God knows that. Can the world withstand another wonder of the likes of Blue Ivy? Guess we’ll find out soon enough. Any bets on when she’ll pop another one out? Source
We hope not either, cuz where is he gonna get some Grade A cous like hers if she leaves him? Chrissy Teigen Talks About Wedding Plans With John Legend Opening up to Us Weekly at Project Sunshine’s Benefit in NYC Tuesday night, the swimsuit model–who got engaged to love of five years John Legend during a Maldives getaway over the holidays–said she isn’t willing to let wedding planning take over her life. In fact, “I feel like the anti-bride, because I watch all those shows and I hate them,” she told Us. “I go out of my way to try not to be too annoying . . . my biggest goal in life is to not be annoying about being a bride.” Teigen, 26, says she’d rather focus on the fun stuff: food and fashion, stressing that her big day will be very “food-oriented”–and will involved multiple costume changes. “I love dress shopping and I love talking about the wedding food. That’s what makes me happy,” Teigen revealed. “If you tell me to do a guest list, I cry. I hate it.” The 5-foot-8 beauty says she also didn’t waste any time picking out her first dress for her nuptials–a “simple” but “stunning” Monique Lhuillier gown. “I had been looking at online for so long . . . since the day I got engaged,” Teigen shared. “It’s so beautiful. I loved it. That was my excuse for having not waited. I don’t know what part [of the wedding] it will be worn for, but it will be worn and I’m very excited.” Teigen might not have wasted any time settling on a dress, but in general, she says she and Legend, 33, aren’t stressed about when they’ll make it official. “We’re going to take our time with [the rest of the planning],” Teigen told Us. “We’ve been together for so long.” Joked the model, “Hopefully I won’t hate him by then!” These two have been together forever and hopefully the marriage will be even happier than the wedding planning! Scarlett Johansson Speaks About Divorce From Ryan Reynolds Poor thang! One of our favorite Hollyweird bangers, Scarlett Johansson recently admitted she still has bouts of grief and loneliness over losing her hubby Ryan Reynolds. Although the Avengers actress, 27, has dated other men after her late 2010 divorce from Ryan Reynolds — including Sean Penn and, currently, NYC ad exec Nate Naylor — the stunning star tells the May issue of Vogue that she’s still hurting from the end of her two-year marriage. Johansson calls the breakup “comically amicable,” but clarifies that it was still “horrible . . . Of course it’s horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn’t work out.” She muses that divorce is “like the loneliest thing you’ll ever do, in some way.” And while Johansson says she now feels “relative peace,” she confides to Vogue that the split from Safe House star Reynolds, 35, who has rebounded with Blake Lively, still gives her grief. “I don’t feel on the other side of it completely, but it gets better,” she says. “It’s still there. More than anything, it’s just that not having your buddy around all the time is weird. There’s no rule book. I think it’s just time.” Johansson is less descriptive when talking about her rebound romance with Penn, 51, with whom she was involved for five months last year. “We spent time together, yeah,” she admits. “I never put a title on it, really, but we were seeing each other.” Regardless, she and the Oscar winner/humanitarian are on excellent terms. “He’s a remarkable person . . . He really is.” It’s okay ScarJo, we’ll give you some lovin’! Source More On Bossip! Alicia Keys Covers May “Global” Issue Of VIBE Magazine, Talks Partnership With Husband Swizz Beatz Now ain’t this about an itchbay? Alicia Keys is all up in VIBE magazine talking about her marriage to that shady character Swizz Beatz… The issue won’t hit newsstands until April 16th but VIBE released this excerpt today: It’s probably not a coincidence that Alicia Keys and her husband, Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, are wearing matching pants. His: expertly tailored and trim, skimming his sneakers just so. Hers: a sexy waxed denim that hugs her in all the right places. Both are the color of a well-made cappuccino. They’ve agreed to be interviewed together over dinner, a double date of sorts. It’s one of those novel ideas cooked up by magazine editors, but Keys, who seems more open now than she’s ever been, was keen to participate. And what better way to convey closeness than with his-and-her trousers. But spend a couple of hours with them drinking cocktails that taste like tropical fruit juice, and it’s clear they don’t need color-coordinated outfits to get the point across. He’ll tug at the sleeve of her coat to help her shimmy out of it. Her hand will rest sweetly on his thigh. They’ll talk about their partnership in a way that says, “We want the whole world to have what we have,” and they’ll do it by telling you about the moment when they knew they were soul mates. “It was the craziest thing,” says Dean, leaning forward in his chair. “We had a work lunch with some people, and I get home and look in the back pocket—” “My credit card was in his pocket,” Keys finishes the story, eyes wide. “Why was my credit card in his pocket?” One explanation might be that he’d grabbed it by accident when they split the check, but that would be too prosaic. They saw the credit card debacle as a sign, the first of many. Well, second, if you count the time, 14 years ago, when they first met and Dean tried unsuccessfully to get her number from his friend. “It wasn’t our time yet,” he says with a smile. Maybe it’s the swanky lighting, the buzz from the booze or simply the glow thattends to bounce off of famous people, but now definitely seems to be their time. And hers, especially. At 31, Keys is among the best-selling recording artists of all time. She’s released five albums, won 14 Grammys and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. She’s now working on her sixth album, and yet she appears relaxed, approachable, easy-breezy. Of course, she’s sort of always seemed that way, even all the way back in 2001, when she was a new artist with plenty of Harlem swag (Keys’ roots are from Hell’s Kitchen, N.Y.) promoting her first album, Songs in A Minor. But let her tell it and this is the first time in her life when she feels comfortable in her own skin. It’s the pay off, she says, for making difficult choices, personally and professionally. “Let’s just say I’ve been very uncomfortable,” she’d said a few days earlier, curled up on a squishy red sofa in a recording studio. “I’ve been brave enough to be uncomfortable.” Yeah, cuz sleeping with another woman’s husband is some real “brave” isht!
