Source: gradyreese/Getty / Getty A new dance challenge has taken off on Instagram by one of the most well-respected choreographers in the game. Chris Grant has made a name for himself choreographing iconic performances for stars like Beyoncé.  But with his new #WristwatchChallenge, Grant is taking on the choreographer and singer role for a new song that’s all his own. Grant shared his “Wristwatch” track on Instagram along with some fire choreography on November 1. Thus, the #WristwatchChallenge was born.   A couple of days later, Grant shared a lyrics video to Instagram…   Soon after, movers across social media were sharing clips of themselves dancing to Grant’s song. From bedroom finesse…   To dance studio greatness…   Even celebrity comrades were showing Grant some love with their own interpretation of the song. Brandy was one artist who happily put her own sauce to the choreo…   Grant’s influence is no surprise, considering his decorated experience in the entertainment industry. According to Billboard , famed choreographer and Beyoncé collaborator  Frank Watson Jr. helped Grant take his career to the next level when Watson saw him on Making the Band 4 in 2008. Grant was a contestant on the show and Watson peeped his talent early on. Eventually, Watson introduced Grant to Beyoncé and the Queen Bey was in awe of Grant’s skills. According to Dance Mogul , he became one of Beyoncé’s assistant choreographers during her “I Am… World Tour” and they kept the relationship going ever since then. Now, Grant has helped choreograph memorable moments such as Beyoncé’s “Formation” music video in 2016 and her iconic Coachella performance earlier this year. With his own new music on the horizon, it’s clear Grant isn’t slowing down his creative energy anytime soon. Hit the next pages to watch more #WristwatchChallenge clips making waves on the Internet!

Hailee Steinfeld Is Learning How To Work It

Hailee Steinfeld is really stepping up her game. Not only is she dressing down like a pop star should, her dance moves are getting better. Especially, when she moves her little booty. All she needs now is some better tunes and me as her choreographer. I think the whole concert should be done in a bed with me under the covers.

‘Mob Wives’ Drita And Carla Read ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’

‘What is this? This is dirty!’ Drita D’Avanzo exclaims after reciting a passage of ‘Fifty Shades’ for MTV News. By Rob Markman “Mob Wives” star Drita D’avanzo Photo: MTV News Filth or sensual fan fiction? It’s impossible not to have an opinion on E L James’ erotic New York Times best-seller “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Single ladies, girlfriends and housewives have all been drawn to the steamy novel — not to mention “Mob Wives.” VH1 reality star Carla Facciolo hasn’t read the current “it” book, but she gets the gist of it. “To me, it’s like a sex book,” she told MTV News in an attempt to describe the “50 Shades” phenomenon . “Grey is a guy that every girl wants; he’s like a dream guy and he seduces.” Carla’s synopsis was enough to whet the appetite of her “Mob Wives” pal Drita D’Avanzo, who immediately let her curiosity get the best of her. “I wanna read it,” Drita blurted out. Lucky for the reality-show beauty, MTV News had a copy of the book on hand for her to sample. “It’s very intense,” Carla warned. Still, Drita opened the book and began her moment of “Fifty Shades” discovery. “Get off the bed, stand over here,” D’Avanzo read from one of the book’s later chapters, in which playboy Christian Grey introduces his naive lover Anastasia Steele to a kinky sexual experience. “He holds out his hand and in his palm are two shiny balls linked with a thick, black thread,” Drita continued to read before she stopped herself, shocked by the sexual suggestiveness. “What the f— is this?” Drita questioned in her unmistakable Staten Island, New York, accent. “They’re ass beads? What is this? This is dirty — what the hell is this?” “Fifty Shades” wasn’t Drita’s cup of tea, but maybe she will change her mind when the book is adapted into a film (Universal Pictures has already secured the rights). “How do you even know about this, Carla?” she asked, chastising her buddy. “You, for even knowing about that book, I gotta think twice about you.” Carla had only one reasonable explanation: “It’s the hottest book out right now.” Filth or sexy fan fiction? What do you think of “Fifty Shades of Grey”? Let us know in the comments!

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Choreographer Gets 10 Years In Prison

Alex Da Silva was convicted of rape and assault against former dance students. By Katie Byrne Alex Da Silva (file) Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images “So You Think You Can Dance” fans haven’t seen Alex Da Silva on the show since season four back in 2008, and there’s a reason the choreographer has been off the radar: He has been in jail since being charged with raping a former dance student and assaulting another one. On Friday (January 27), Da Silva was sentenced to 10 years in prison for those crimes, TMZ reports. While the 43-year-old was accused of raping and sexually assaulting four women, he was convicted in September of only one count of rape and one count of assault with intent to commit rape; the jury was deadlocked on the other charges. He was arrested back in 2009 and charged with multiple felonies. Unable to pay the bail set at $2 million, Da Silva has remained in jail for the past two years. On top of his 10 years in prison, he is now required to register as a sex offender for life. Da Silva appeared on seasons one through four of “So You Think You Can Dance” as a guest choreographer specializing in Salsa dancing. In season two, eventual winner Benji Schwimmer named his Da Silva-choreographed mambo as his favorite routine of the show. After his arrest, Da Silva did an interview with SalsaFreak.com to clear his name, insisting that he had done nothing wrong with his students. “I know the truth, and I don’t even know who the others are,” he said, claiming to not even be acquainted with some of his accusers. “It’s all a bunch of lies, and people just want to bring me down. If something like that really happened, then they should have gone to the police that night, or the same day, but it was never that way. I have too much to lose. I don’t need that type of thing in my life.”

Michael Jackson ‘Wasn’t Right,’ Choreographer Testifies

Kenny Ortega takes stand in doctor Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial. By Gil Kaufman Kenny Ortega testifies during Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial on Tuesday Photo: Pool/Getty Images After dramatic opening statements from prosecutors and the defense, the manslaughter trial of former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray began Tuesday with gripping testimony from Jackson’s friend and former choreographer, “This is It” documentary director Kenny Ortega. “My friend wasn’t right. … There was something going on that was deeply troubling me,” Ortega said of Jackson’s demeanor on June 19, a week before the singer’s death . Ortega testified that although Jackson was “very excited” about his upcoming 50-date “This is It” series of comeback shows at London’s O2 Arena, the pop icon seemed ill in the days before his passing, missing numerous rehearsals from mid- to late June 2009. According to TMZ , Ortega said Jackson left rehearsals early on the 19th, after seemingly not eating anything all day, which prompted the director to send an email to Randy Phillips, the CEO of AEG Live, the show’s promoter. “There is no one taking responsibility, caring for him on a daily basis,” Ortega wrote. “I was feeding him, wrapping him in blankets … and calling his doctor.” Ortega described Jackson as “incoherent” and said he confronted Murray during an emergency meeting at the singer’s home June 20, during which the doctor became upset that the choreographer would not let Jackson rehearse and accused him of trying to act like a doctor. Ortega also said he thought Jackson was abusing drugs and that just four days after appearing so sick, the “Thriller” singer was back at rehearsals June 23 full of energy and ready to work. AEG co-CEO Paul Gongaware later testified that it was Jackson’s idea to extend his string of 10 sold-out shows with an additional 21 gigs to bring the total to 31 in order to beat longtime rival Prince’s record of 21 sold-out gigs at the O2. He also said that even after selling out all 50 shows, there was a list of 250,000 people waiting for tickets. And while Gongaware described Jackson as seeming a little “off” and speaking in slurred speech when he first met him in the early stages of rehearsal, longtime friend and fitness trainer Lou Ferrigno said he saw no signs of physical distress during workouts a couple weeks before the singer died. The former “Hulk” star said that two weeks before Jackson’s passing, he watched as the pop icon trained for an hour at his rented Beverly Hills mansion, doing cardio on a treadmill, working with light weights and doing core exercises. Ferrigno described Jackson’s energy level as very good, but did note that his friend complained of having trouble sleeping. Earlier in the day, prosecutors showed a previously unseen, graphic image of the 50-year-old Jackson’s body on a hospital gurney and claimed in opening statements that they planned to show that Murray repeatedly acted with gross negligence and incompetence in administering a drug cocktail to Jackson. Murray, who was working on a $150,000-a-month retainer, faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license if found guilty. Defense attorney Ed Chernoff countered by telling the jury that Jackson caused his own death by swallowing eight 2-milligram pills of the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepam, as well as injecting himself with a dose of the surgical anesthetic propofol that instantly killed him. Testimony in the trial continues Wednesday (September 28). Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Michael Jackson
