That Shady Miami Dream Team Catches Another Last Minute “L”

Once again, the Heat thought they had a game in the bag, and managed to lose a double digit lead in the fourth quarter. The Mavericks defeated the Heat 86-83 on Tuesday to even the NBA Finals at 2-2 and, in the process, send the best-of-7 series back to Miami. But first there’s Game 5 at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. “Game 5, the swing game,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. Thursday’s swing game could have been the potential series clincher but Miami played too poorly in the fourth quarter to make the NBA Finals a short series like it did against Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. Miami went more than seven minutes without scoring a field goal before Dwyane Wade scored a dunk with nine seconds left in the game. It cut the Mavericks lead to one point, but Jason Terry made two free throws with 6.7 seconds left to force Miami into a three-point shot The Heat’s final chance seemed as broken as the fourth quarter. Wade mishandled the inbounds following a timeout but saved it by throwing a desperation pass to Mike Miller. Miller forced an awkward three-pointer that missed badly as time expired. The Mavericks outscored the Heat 21-14 in the final fourth quarter and forced six turnovers. Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 21 points — 11 in the final period. Wade had 32 points and Chris Bosh added 24, but Miami couldn’t overcome a poor shooting night by LeBron James. He was 3-of-11 shooting with eight points, nine rebounds and seven assists. “We’ll work to help make it easier for [James] in the next game,” Erik Spoelstra said. “I’ve got to do a better job of making sure he’s in better positions to be aggressive and efficient.” Nowitzki played despite a fever and was congested during his postgame news conference. “Sitting at 2-2 right now and obviously we would like to get Game 5 at home before going back to Miami,” Nowitzki said. “That’s a big game for us.” The Heat trailed 82-81 with 30 seconds left when Wade missed his second of two free throws. Nowitzki scored on a driving layup with 14.4 seconds left to give the Mavericks an 84-81 lead. Three of eleven??? Get it together, LeBaby! You know this is your only chance to shut down the perpetual hate! Source

Chris “Cry Baby” Bosh Celebrates His Birthday With A Big Baller Bash In Miami

Chris Bosh celebrated his birthday last night in Miami along with his boo Adrienne, most of his teammates and a few “Basketball Wives,” can you guess whether Adrienne is in the circle or down with the non-muthafu*kin factors? If you guessed non-muthafu*kin factors… you guessed right! Suzy, Royce and a few other non-Evelyn lookin’ broads showed up to party with the ballers. Chris and friends had a birthday dinner at Phillippe’s before bringing the party to Louis. Apparently a “distinguished gentleman” theme was in effect but King James didn’t get the memo. {gallery}

This also means the Lakeshow didn’t beat the Heat once this whole season. The Lakers could have finally wished their fans a Merry Christmas, along with a belated apology for their behavior back in December. Instead, they gift-wrapped a game Thursday and handed it to the Miami Heat. The Lakers’ messy last two minutes led to Miami’s 94-88 victory and ended two streaks at once — the Lakers’ eight-game surge and the Heat’s five-game skid. There was no getting even for a humiliating loss to Miami on Christmas Day after Kobe Bryant committed two late turnovers and missed two long three-point attempts, one from 28 feet at AmericanAirlines Arena. Bryant wasn’t the only one at fault. Ron Artest missed an open layup attempt with 1:04 left. Merry March, Miami. Or as Andrew Bynum said in his own way, “We tricked it, for sure. We definitely had an opportunity to win this game and we gave it away.” Their game Saturday in Dallas is more important to the Lakers, but this one was taken plenty seriously. Bryant warned teammates the previous day not to stay out late in always-rocking South Beach and to make sure the game was the focus of their trip to Miami. He had 24 points on a poor shooting night (eight for 21) and was still angry about it 30 minutes after the game. So he returned to the court and shot a slew of three-pointers and mid-range jumpers as three Heat ball boys fetched rebounds and fed him passes. His Lakers T-shirt was wet with sweat by the time he finished. He played almost 40 minutes in the game and stayed on the court for more than an hour afterward. “It’s my job,” Bryant said. “This is what you’re supposed to do if you’re not feeling comfortable with something and you feel like you can tweak some things.” The game ended feebly for a team that had been playing so robustly, beating Portland, Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Atlanta on the road since the All-Star break. Bryant started it by coughing the ball up to Dwyane Wade, who fed LeBron James for a dunk and 90-88 lead with 1:27 to play. Then Artest missed his easy shot. Then Bryant lost the ball out of bounds while going up for a shot down low. Then he lofted an off-balance, 28-foot, three-point attempt. By the time the misfires were added up, the Lakers had lost, though Coach Phil Jackson took the blame. As everyone knows, he rarely calls timeouts and often still has one or two in his pocket for end-of-game situations. This time, he called his last one with 46 seconds to play and the Lakers down by four. “I really took responsibility for screwing up the end of the game,” he said. “I had no timeouts…” As for Artest? “I should have made the layup, but they grabbed my arm, I got hit in my head, and then, well, goaltending too possibly, right?” Artest said. “But that’s an excuse, man. I should have made the layup.” The Lakers initially thought the Heat took the rebound with the ball still in the cylinder but stepped back from their thinking after conferring with their video coordinator. The Heat couldn’t be happier, ending a five-game losing streak that tugged on the franchise and its celebrated trio of All-Stars. “This was a very big game and we had everything riding on it,” said Heat forward Chris Bosh, who complained about his touches earlier this week and had 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting Thursday. You know who’s really happy? The owner of Whiskey Tango in Hollywood, FL, who promised to pay $25 of everyone’s bar tab every time the team lost. So far, it has cost John Todora $85K. Source

Is Evelyn Lozada Quitting “Basketball Wives?”

Follow this link:

“Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada may be looking for a new job. TMZ is reporting that Evelyn claims she was stabbed in the back by producers and wants to leave the show for good. Apparently Evelyn feels the producers of the show violated her trust by spilling sensitive information about an illicit relationship she had in the past.(Could this be Evelyn sleeping with Tami’s ex?) But wait, didn’t Evelyn blow herself up with this one??? I’ve been saying this show is scripted and edited to provoke confrontation and drama week after week, so I’m not surprised. Or could it be that Evelyn feels once she marries Ochocinco, she’ll hit paydirt and won’t have to work anymore.. Evelyn fired off an email to the producers last night saying she’s out!!! “Basketball Wives” Evelyn Lozada Slept With Tami Roman’s Ex-Husband!
