While the original boasts rhymes from Ace Hood, Wiz Khalifa and Wale, Chris Brown has no problem taking the spotlight on this gritty, unreleased verse. He raps, “Every n–ga in the industry done f–ked my b–ch/ And all my n–gas said I told ya / Now all these rap n–gas wanna be political.” “Nah, f–k that I’m a real lyrical killer!”
His political career destroyed long ago, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced Thursday to a stunning 28 years in prison for corruption. The apparent last step in a series of scandals that destroyed his career and helped steer a crisis-laden city even deeper into trouble was an emphatic one. Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced to 28 Years Kilpatrick, who served as mayor from 2002-2008, fattened his bank account by tens of thousands of dollars using tactics better suited for a TV drama. He traveled the country in private planes and even strong-armed his campaign fundraiser for stacks of cash hidden in her bra, according to evidence at trial. “I’m ready to go so the city can move on,” Kilpatrick said. “The people here are suffering, they’re hurting. A great deal of that hurt I accept responsibility for.” In March, Kilpatrick, 43, was convicted of racketeering conspiracy , fraud, extortion and tax crimes. The government called it the “Kilpatrick enterprise.” It was described as a years-long scheme to shake down contractors and reward allies, and he was doomed in the end by his own text messages. Kilpatrick’s texts revealed efforts to fix deals for a pal, Bobby Ferguson, an excavator who got millions of dollars in city work through the water department. Contractors say they were forced to hire Ferguson or risk losing lucrative deals. The government alleged that he in turn shared cash with Kilpatrick. Agents who pored over bank accounts and credit cards said Kilpatrick spent $840,000 beyond his salary during his time as mayor of the Michigan city. Defense attorneys tried to portray that insane sum of money as generous gifts from political supporters who opened their wallets for birthdays or holidays. The government said Kwame Kilpatrick also tapped a nonprofit created to help distressed Detroit residents, to pay for yoga, golf clubs and travel. Judge Nancy Edmunds said before imposing the sentence: “A man with the charisma and ability of Mr. Kilpatrick chose to use his talents on personal aggrandizement and enrichment when he had the potential to do so much for the city.” The sentence was a win for prosecutors, who recommended Kilpatrick serve at least 28 years in prison, while defense attorneys argued for no more than 15. Kilpatrick, a Democrat, quit office in 2008 in a different scandal that was extraordinary at the time but seems smaller compared with the sweeping federal probe. Sexually explicit texts (again) revealed that Kilpatrick covered up an affair with aide Christine Beatty and reasons for firing police officers who suspected wrongdoing.

According to a new report, Khloe Kardashian is afraid to divorce Lamar Odom. Because she’s afraid of being alone? No. Because she’s afraid Odom will kill himself. The episode, of course, was filmed many weeks ago and Lamar’s problems – with drugs and other women – have only spiraled out of control ever since. Now, an insider confirms to TMZ that an official split between Khloe and Lamar is “inevitable,” but Kardashian is worried about the timing and the effect it will have on an already-fragile Odom. Quite simply, she fears he will overdose or somehow commit suicide if the couple were to divorce. There are no plans in the immediate future for a divorce to take place, as Khloe has put her life on hold in order to help Lamar. But at some point she must put herself first. It’s just unclear when that will that will take place and, unfortunately, what the emotional fallout will be for all involved.

According to Hollyscoop, Khloe is ready to move on and is even prepared to give away the property at a loss, only listing it for $3 million when she and Lamar purchased it years ago for $4 million. Chris Brown and Drake have buried the hatchet. Rumors have surfaced in the past week that they’ve let bygones be bygones, and now it’s been confirmed. Not only that, it appears they’re collaborating on new music together. “Hangin with Drake in the studio,” Brown wrote on Facebook today. Chris Brown is clearly turning over a new leaf. He’s Tweeting his support for gay rights … he’s in the studio with Drake … what the heck is going on here?! In any case, bro time is a promising turn of events for the pair. The Chris Brown-Drake feud has been long-simmering, and escalated to the point where their respective posses came to blows last year in a club. The W.i.P. club melee led to injuries, lawsuits and rumors galore, with Drake saying after the fact that the “feud” was all his rival who refused to let it go. Looks like he now has. A source says they cleared the air at last month’s IHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, with the “Started from the Bottom” rapper visiting Brown’s dressing room. “They made peace and are cool now,” a source says . “Rihanna is in the past. They decided to start fresh and be cool with each other and they are now.” No word yet on the nature of today’s meeting, or whether they’re discussing the Rihanna “Pour It Up” music video right now, but we’re glad the beef is quashed.
