Chris Evans Is Proud Of Just Three of His Films — Which Ones?

In a new interview at Prestige Hong Kong , Chris Evans , he of Fantastic Four and Captain America and the upcoming Avengers fame, admits that some — okay, a lot — of his films haven’t been very good. In fact, he’ll even give you a number: “I’ve made about 20 movies and I’m probably proud of three,” he said, admitting that press tours do a number on his nerves because he’s forced to put on a brave face to promote “piece[s] of shit.” Aww, Chris. Fret not! You’ve got some solid movies under your belt! Let’s name them and guess which trio of credits Evans is most proud of. You’ve got to give Evans points for candor; even while he was promoting Captain America he acknowledged that it took a lot of convincing for him to take on the responsibility of a ginormous superhero franchise that could make or break his career. According to his Prestige chat, he sought help from a therapist to deal with the pressures of the gig even before filming, which might be when this revelation hit: “I started to realise, I think the main reason I struggle so much in press, is because I’m usually promoting a piece of shit. It’s really difficult to find a flowery way to tell people to go see this movie, that your face is all over, that your name is all over, that you’re endorsing. And then you begin to feel like a liar, like you’re transparent. You feel undeserving and it makes the interview extremely uncomfortable, for me at least. But you know what? Sunshine , which he’s said is a favorite of his , was great (well, until the end). Captain America earned far more critical acclaim than his previous superhero stint in the Fantastic Four films. And Evans lent a fantastic injection of mocking Hollywood swagger to his Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World . Hell, even Not Another Teen Movie was pretty funny, and launched Evans’ career, and despite its mixed reviews, the indie drama Puncture , in which he played a drug-addicted lawyer, was a bold move. Granted, there have been many misfires — 16 out of 19 of his films are “rotten” on Rotten Tomatoes — but they’re not all complete stinkers, are they? Surely he’s proud of his work in more than just three? Take a look at Evans’ full filmography and chime in. The Newcomers (2000) Not Another Teen Movie (2001) The Perfect Score (2004) Cellular (2004) Fierce People (2005) Fantastic Four (2005) London (2005) TMNT (2007) Sunshine (2007) Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) The Nanny Diaries (2007) Battle for Terra (2007) Street Kings (2008) The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (2008) Push (2009) The Losers (2010) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010) Captain America (2011) Puncture (2011) What’s Your Number? ‘The Avengers’ Trailer #2: Team Strife, and a World in Danger

http://www.youtube.com/v/tY9DnBNJFTI

Original post:

We’ve joked in the past couple months about the fact that Marvel’s choice of early stills for The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon and starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, have been fairly dry. We’ve learned more about the movie from box art Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 29/02/2012 17:41 Number of articles : 3

‘The Avengers’ Trailer #2: Team Strife, and a World in Danger

It’s Double the Scarlett Johansson in New Russian Avengers Trailer!

Back in October, Marvel released the first trailer for Joss Whedon’s superhero supermovie Avengers , which will feature Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). My only complaint with the first trailer was that it didn’t give enough screen time to Scarlett Johansson ‘s Black Widow, whose role in the preview seemed to be limited to Sexy Background Extra in Black Spandex. Now, a foreign trailer finally gives Johansson’s Black Widow — one of the only females in the male-dominated superhero industry — an actual speaking part. The only problem… is that here, the lines are in Russian. Did I mention there aren’t captions either? Well, who needs captions to understand what is happening: Robert Downey, Jr. delivers some quippy dialogue, Captain America throws a shield, the Avengers bust a lot of bad guys and in the process, a lot of sh*t is blown up.

‘Avengers’ Trailer, By The Numbers

We break down the super sneak peek, from explosions to Tony Stark’s quips. By Kara Warner Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in “Avengers” Photo: Marvel Now that the “Avengers” trailer has finally premiered, we can spend the next few hours, days and weeks overanalyzing it and trying to decipher the many messages director Joss Whedon chose to tease in that preview’s action-packed one minute and 45 seconds. After multiple, careful viewings, here’s a closer look at a few interesting things that stand out, by the numbers: 12+ : Explosions in the first 25 seconds. The FX team did not discriminate here, as we see cars, a few city blocks, Grand Central Station, a plane, an unidentified Avengers hangout and buildings go up in smoke. 3 : Gratuitous “suiting-up” shots, wherein we see Cap/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) checking out his new uniform and then trying out his new shield; Thor (Chris Hemsworth) getting ready with a grip on his trusty hammer Mjolnir; and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) checking into his fancy Iron Man suit. 13+ : Number of “looking coolly off into the distance or deeply into someone’s eyes” moments. Whether lost in thought or in someone else’s gaze, the trailer is packed with meaningful looks. 6 : Avengers-in-action moments. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) shoots arrows! Cap runs and leaps over debris! Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) pulls off an impressive face-kick/flip maneuver! Iron Man flies during the day and at night! Thor wields his mighty hammer! Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) fires a rocket launcher! 1.5 : The number of Loki leaps. The aspiring supervillain, who looks even more menacing/unseemly with the longer, scraggly black hair, executes an angry-but-impressive jump thrust at the beginning of the trailer, then a half-jump toward the end when he uses his staff to fire a powerful bolt to destroy more cars and cement. 2 : The number of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents featured. “Iron Man” and “Thor” scene-stealer Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) is shown giving his new recruits a tour, watching a crisis unfold and making plans with his boss, Nick Fury, who also gets a few scenes to himself. 0 : Skrull sightings. The consensus among the Internet peanut gallery is that the God of Mischief can’t be causing all this destruction by his lonesome and must therefore be getting help from someone or something. All signs have so far pointed to shape-changing aliens the Skrulls , but alas, Whedon hasn’t offered confirmation yet. 2.5 : The number of times Tony Stark says something sassy. First, to Captain America: “No offense, I don’t play well with others.” Cap to Stark: “Who are you without that iron suit?” Stark’s response: “A genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.” To Bruce Banner/ the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo): “Dr. Banner, your work is unparalleled and I’m a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster.” 2 : The number of Avengers who get tossed out of glass windows and fall to the ground below. Captain America and Tony Stark get the honors here, both seemingly at the hand of Loki. 114 : Seconds we have to wait until seeing the Hulk. Rihanna is Esquire magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive 2011! For her sweaty photo shoot, she got down & dirty (literally), stripping her clothes off completely and covering her parts with only natural leaves. Inside, she (of course) is asked about Chris Brown: “It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I’ve put that behind me. It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.” Do you ladies believe in letting go of grudges, too? (P.S. Rihanna takes the “SWA” title after following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie in 2004 and Halle Berry in 2008. Nice.) How Many Sexual Partners Is Too Many?

Read more:

“What’s your number?” If your boyfriend or girlfriend asked this question, would you answer? Let’s not pretend we don’t all know what “number” I’m talking about and it isn’t your phone number (although for some guys out there your number actually may be approaching seven digits.) I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of the new movie “Whats Your Number?” starring Anna Faris and Chris Evans and since a healthy portion of the ways we govern our sexual and dating lives is based on our “number” I thought it would be interesting to find out just how important the number of partners someone has had really is. To give you a basic idea about the film, Anna Faris’s character has slept with 19 people and discovers in a Cosmo Magazine article that a woman’s chances of marrying after 20 partners drops significantly. This sends her on a quest to find all of her ex’s(with the help of an often naked Chris Evans) to ensure that the next man she gives it up to is the man that walks her down the aisle. Now I had the pleasure of speaking with the gorgeous Tika Sumpter (who can also be seen in the up coming Think Like A Man with Kevin Hart) on the red carpet who co-stars in the film playing one of Anna’s close girlfriends and I asked her about the importance of “the number” to women. So, should a woman ever reveal her number? Tika doesn’t think so saying, “Everybody always says they want to be honest I don’t think people really want to be honest with each other, so no. I don’t think everybody can take it, only a certain person can take it.” Personally I would have to agree, even as a man I can admit we may want to know but we may not always be happy with the answer, a sentiment she echoed for me saying, “Most men love being all over the place but if a woman can’t count(them) on her fingers then they don’t want to be with you. You want us to play as if we don’t have a lot of partners.” Well maybe Ms. Sumpter would want to know her boyfriend’s number? “Absolutely not,” she said. “Why would I want to know that? I just want to know that he’s safe and that’s it.” Which seems to be the right way to go about it. No one really wants to know their partner’s number because if it’s too low you probably won’t believe them(especially if it’s a guy) and if it’s too high you’ll probably want out of the relationship, or at the very least you’ll be thinking very heavily about who’s had your partner’s goodies before they got to you. What’s Your Number? is a very funny film, personally one of my favorite Anna Faris movies. It does a good job of expressing just how consumed women can become over something as silly as their number of sexual partners, how it affects their future, and Cosmo Magazine articles. It was a movie I wouldn’t have minded being dragged to by a girlfriend even if just to validate my belief of how women can sometimes over think things and have it played out comedically on screen for me. It’s no secret guys pride themselves on a high number and girls aim to keep it low. Society has pretty much conditioned us to think and act this way so don’t be too hard on yourself for your sexual behavior. So, would you tell your partner your number? Discuss it with them and us at TheUrbanDaily in the comments below now and after you go see What’s Your Number? in theaters this weekend.
