Desiree Hartsock & Brooks Forester: True Love on The Bachelorette? Or Misdirection?

On a show as telegraphed as The Bachelorette, Desiree Hartsock’s confession Monday that she’s “in love with” Brooks Forester seemed to come out of left field. The Bachelorette spoilers have hinted for months that she’s been sweet on one guy from the start, and Brooks sure looks like he is in fact that guy. But is it all a case of classic misdirection from the producers? While the obvious takeaway from Des’ reveal to Chris Harrison was that Brooks is a lock to win , a contrarian view might suggest it’s proof he does not. Count former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky among that camp. “I can’t believe she actually told [Chris H] she’s in love with Brooks! I know this sounds SO weird, but that fact that the editors left that in, makes me really think Brooks is NOT the one,” she writes. “Why would the producers show us this with so many episodes left?!?!” It’s an interesting theory. And based on teasers for the remainder of the season, it may not be off base, as there are a lot of tears left to be shed apparently. Is it possible the L-Bomb was left in by ABC because Desiree Hartsock is heartbroken when Brooks doesn’t reciprocate, and ends up alone in the end? The other, albeit shocking possibility? It’s a reality show being real. Desiree loves Brooks, Desiree tells Chris she loves Brooks, Desiree tells Brooks she loves Brooks, and Brooks comes around by the end of the season. Fedotowsky says that’s certainly possibly … but not a guarantee. “If Des picks Brooks and we’re witnessing the real love story,” she says. “Then I couldn’t be happier for them! Happy that the show is showing us the raw love story! And just happy in general!” “I’m not saying the show is fake. It’s not. I’m just saying the producers/editors try to keep us guessing up until the very last episode. Why would they give away the winner so soon?” What do you think? Is Brooks Forester the one? Desiree Hartsock: Will Bachelorette Choose No One?

Does Desiree Hartsock’s quest for love end with her choosing no one? The Bachelorette spoilers have given a pretty strong indication of who the favorite is, but that doesn’t mean she won’t end up right where she started. Asked recently if the guy Desiree chooses is a better fit for her than Bachelor Sean Lowe, franchise host Chris Harrison paused and then mused: “Um, well, it depends on if she ends up with anybody.” Hence the rumor that she picks no one in the end. “We haven’t said anything about how the season ends,” Harrison says , “but I can tell you that Des is in for an emotional, wild ride before we get to the end.” “It’s definitely not what everybody is going to think.” “It’s a tough one. I liked going through it with her, and not to speak for everybody, but I think she represents the normal, average woman very well.” “I think she’s incredibly relatable.” On last night’s episode , she trimmed the field once again, but many questions – and characters – remain as the season starts to kick into high gear. As a further sign of a possibly shocking Bachelorette season finale, Harrison hints that viewers might not be completely thrilled with all of Des’ choices. “Desiree doesn’t try to worry about what everybody is going to think,” he says. “She just shows her true emotions. She doesn’t try to be cool at all.” “I really like that about her.” What do you think? Do you find Desiree Hartsock to be as relatable and likable as Chris does? And who do you think – if anyone – she’ll pick in the end?

Desiree Hartsock Forgets Ben Scott’s Name on Bachelorette Special

Ben Scott may be playing a major role on The Bachelorette so far this season, from his young son on the premiere to brazenly c–k-blocking the competition. It doesn’t look like he made a lasting impression on Desiree Hartsock, however. You don’t need The Bachelorette spoilers to tell you how this is going to play out. Just check out today’s Katie, in which she forgets his name on camera: Desiree Hartsock on Katie Chris Harrison is on hand today to help host an all- Bachelor special on Couric’s show (CBS Evening News, this is not), but the highlight comes from Des. When Katie asks about the Ben Scott drama, Desire Hartsock replies “I guess there were some things that were red flags with, um, what’s his name?” Yeah. We wouldn’t put money on Ben if we were the betting types (which we totally are), but you can expect there will be lots more of him this evening. Every season needs a villain who isn’t there for the right reasons.

The Bachelorette Rap Video: Desiree Hartsock Featuring Soulja Boy (Seriously)

Desiree Hartsock rapping is kind of adorable but also really awkward, and she does so alongside Soulja Boy in a special Bachelorette music video. Yes, we’re serious. Not exactly earth-shattering Bachelorette spoilers here, but she and a bunch of suitors recorded this on the season’s first group date. Take a look, and try not to cringe too noticeably: The Bachelorette Rap Video – Desiree Hartsock ft. Soulja Boy Remember Emily O’Brien, from Ben Flajnik’s season? That girl could RAP. Desiree Hartsock ? Not so much. We’ve seen THG’s interns do better. Then again, that’s Des for you. She was always a little bit awkward, not your stereotypical pulled-together girl, which is why we love her so hard. On the other hand, one of the guys dresses up like Jason Mesnick’s son, Chris Harrison appears at the end, and Soulja Boy’s career is apparently over. So it’s not without merit. Call this one a wash.

Desiree Hartsock: The Bachelorette!

Desiree Hartsock started out as one of 26 women vying for Sean Lowe on The Bachelor, finishing fourth behind Catherine Giudici, Lindsay Yenter and AshLee Frazier. This summer, she’ll be the one everyone is competing for. Fan favorite Desiree (known affectionately as Des) will be The Bachelorette, as expected! The news was confirmed last night on the After the Final Rose special. “I just can’t even believe I’m here. It’s just such a blessing,” she said. “I could never have imagined signing up for The Bachelor and having this opportunity.” Overwhelmed by the crowd’s standing ovation. Desiree had tears in her eyes. “If you’re crying now, we’re in for a long season together,” Chris Harrison joked. The host then asked her about watching The Bachelor finale . “I’m so happy for them,” she said of Sean and Catherine. “I could only hope to have the love that they’ve found and I am very hopeful in all of this. And I do hope to meet the man of my dreams.” “I do believe [in the show]. I’m ready, I’m open and I’ve seen it happen,” she added. “I did realize that the feelings are real, the emotions that you go through.” “It is a real relationship and I’m going to have many of them! I know that it can happen and one of them will be hopefully my true love, as cliche as it sounds.” Is Desiree Hartsock ready for the pressure of starring on her own ABC television show, or the sheer volume of dating 25 guys at the same time? “I can handle them, oh yeah,” she said. “Bring them on!” What do you think of Des as The Bachelorette?   Yes! She’s like perfect for the show! No, I prefer Lindsay/Catherine! No, someone new entirely! View Poll »

Ryan Seacrest Praises Charlie Askew as "Courageous"

American Idol announced its Top 10 of Season 12 last night and, to no one’s surprise, Charlie Askew was not among the group of finalists. The contestant suffered through a mini meltdown on Wednesday night, struggling through a rendition of “Mama” and then confiding to Ryan Seacrest on stage that he’s really an unhappy individual. Charlie Askew – “Mama” “I was impressed that he was courageous enough [to] talk about it,” Seacrest told Access Hollywood yesterday. “But I could tell when he was singing and when he was standing there and the judges were talking to him… he was going through a tough time.” Seacrest handled Askew’s admission – that his smile masks his discontent – with aplomb and support on stage, adding at the show’s party in Los Angeles last night: “I think something’s going on and I just wanted him to know that we know him, we’ve gotten to know him well. And if he needs a friend… we’re there as a friend.”

Sean Lowe "Still Happy" With The Bachelor Winner, Chris Harrison Promises

Sean Lowe is still happy with his decision, The Bachelor’s Chris Harrison says. And you don’t even need The Bachelor spoilers to guess the result, he adds. “Going into the finale, I knew [who he would pick],” he told E! News this week. That was a stark contrast from the hometown dates, when he had “no idea.” On Monday night’s season finale, Sean chooses between his two finalists, Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter. Opinion is split on who fans prefer. Harrison won’t give away who wins (the link above takes care of that if you must know), but promises Sean is ” definitely still happy ” with the outcome. Despite backlash from fans for eliminating Desiree Hartsock and AshLee Frazier , Sean has no regrets about his final two, or his fiancee, Chris says. “He was happy with Lindsay and Catherine [as the final two],” Harrison adds. “I think he aspires and hopes to have something like AshLee represents, I think that’s what his parents have. But I also think that in the end he realized he’s just not there yet.” “She’s a little more mature and further along. Catherine and Lindsay are younger at heart and more fancy-free, where he can think, ‘OK, that’s a little more me right now.'” Chris also says Sean’s values made for a great season. “Sean is a really religious guy and a man of high moral fiber, which he got from his family,” the host with the most explains. “So that’s the way the season went.” “If he would have been a playboy, it would have been a different season. I don’t think everyone can be like that, it’s just not in him, and that made things interesting and very real.” And a very real relief for his final rose recipient to know he didn’t also get it in with two other girls in the Fantasy Suite. There’s that benefit as well. Who do you want to win The Bachelor?   Lindsay Yenter Catherine Giudici View Poll »

Sean Lowe: The Virgin Bachelor?!

Is The Bachelor star Sean Lowe a virgin? A new tabloid cover insinuates this, but it’s not totally accurate. The more appropriate way to put it is that the 29-year-old Texan is a “born-again” virgin. Basically, he “no longer believes” in premarital sex, even though he has had it before, and is waiting until his wedding night to get his freak on again. The Bachelor spoilers totally didn’t mention that, although we did hear that he will forego overnight dates in the fantasy suite because of his beliefs. Apparently he takes this seriously and it will be addressed as The Bachelor winds down the home stretch of its 17th iteration, Chris Harrison says. “Sean doesn’t want to have sex until he’s married. It’s very important to him,” says a source, who adds that his future bride is respectful of this, too. Sean Lowe is engaged to one of the final four women from this season, but they are waiting until walking down the aisle before they go down that road. Who is it? Follow the above link to find out, but the lucky final rose recipient, who will remain nameless in this post, is reportedly having a hard time waiting. No wonder they’re allegedly planning to wed this summer. “She wasn’t celibate going in to The Bachelor , so it’s a big change,” adds the source of Sean and future Mrs. Sean. “She’s dying to do it. Waiting is tough!” Indeed. The final contestants vying for Lowe’s love are Catherine Giudici, 26, AshLee Frazier, 32, Desiree Hartsock, 26, and Lindsay Yenter, 24. Who do you think he should pick?   Catherine Giudici Desiree Hartsock AshLee Frazier Lindsay Yenter View Poll »
