Mark Burnett: Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Are a Match Made In Ratings Heaven!

Mark Burnett is kind of loving the romance between his show’s two biggest stars. Gwen Stefani may no longer be a judge on The Voice , but she still serves as a mentor to boyfriend Blake Shelton’s team. And last night, Stefani and Shelton performed their new duet, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which was nine kinds of awesome to watch. Burnett is The Voice ‘s showrunner, and having seen his fair share of reality shows ( Survivor , The Apprentice , Shark Tank ), the Brit can safely say that romance is alive and well on his set. “It’s great for us. We love them ,” Burnett told Entertainment Tonight . “I consider both Blake and Gwen separately to be very close friends, and both of them went through a lot.” Both Shelton and Stefani announced separations from their respective spouses this past summer , and found solace in each other’s company when Stefani stepped in as a judge for Christina Aguilera. It would be great. They are so amazing, they’re amazing.” Burnett denies playing match-maker (“not at all” he insisted when asked if he had anything to do with their relationship) instead, he let true love take its course. “This is life, they happened to bump into each other, which is great.” Stefani gave a candid interview to the New York Times back in March, in which she describe how she fell for Shelton . The country singer “had been going through literally the exact same thing in literally the exact same time frame,” Stefani explained. We had anger, we had sadness, we had flirtation, we had sexy, and now we’re madly in love,” she said. “Never in my wildest, craziest dreams would I ever have seen this coming.” Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Perform New Duet, Eye-Bang Each Other

The Voice Results: Who Made the Top 11?

Following last week’s live playoffs bloodbath on The Voice, when 12 of the final 24 singers went home, only one got the chop Tuesday. As the competition – as renowned for its bizarre format changes as its talented crop of stars – hits the stretch run, who would survive? After Monday’s always-impressive live performances, the top 12 contestants on Season 10 of The Voice faced elimination last night. For the first time in this cycle, the results Tuesday were determined solely by viewers’ votes and iTunes downloads. No mentors’ help. Coaches Christina Aguilera, Pharrell, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton could only sit, watch, encourage and hope America got it right. Tuesday also saw the return of the Insta-save, in which the bottom two artists sang live, and viewers could vote on Twitter in real time. Heading in, it appeared that Daniel, Emily and Bryan could be at risk for being relegated to the bottom three among the final dozen. Were they? Let’s break down The Voice results … The first artists voted through to the Top 11 were Team Christina’s Alisan Porter and Team Blake’s Adam Wakefield, who killed it Monday. Team Christina’s Bryan Bautista then made it through, along with Team Pharrell’s Daniel Passino, his coach’s major comeback artist. Team Blake’s Paxton Ingram got the nod, and was soon joined by Team Adam’s Shalyah Fearing, the youngest artist left in the hunt. Adam’s protege Laith Al-Saadi then made it through, as did Team Pharrell’s duo of Hannah Huston and Team Christina’s Nick Hagelin. Finally, Team Blake’s classic country artist Mary Sarah advanced, leaving Team Pharrell’s Emily Keener and Team Adam’s Owen Danoff. Those two proceeded to sing for their lives. Keener was  first, singing “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” by Willie Nelson, accompanying herself on guitar and playing to her strengths. Danoff, also on his guitar, followed with “Lego House” by Ed Sheeran, which was also in his comfort zone, and it showed. He survived. Emily Keener has been eliminated. What did you think of The Voice results tonight? Did America get it right? Who do you think will take it all the way to the finals this year?

Lady Gaga to Sing National Anthem Before Super Bowl 50

Lady Gaga ended 2015 on quite a high note, winning rave reviews – along with a Golden Globe – for her role on American Horror Story: Hotel. And now the singer’s 2016 is off to an impressive start as well. She will sing the national anthem this Sunday in Santa Clara, prior to Super Bowl 50 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. Academy Award-winning actress Marlee Matlin, meanwhile, will perform in American Sign Language during this rendition of the country’s theme song. With this honor, Lady Gaga joins an impressive rundown of artists who have opened the most-watched sporting event on the planet with a nod to their nation. Idina Menzel did the honors in 2015, while past stars who have belted out the track at the Super Bowl have included Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and Carrie Underwood.  We wish, of course, that Lady Gaga was instead performing at halftime of the game. Instead, viewers and attendees will be subjected to Coldplay, although the band is at least expected to include such guests as Beyonce in its halftime set.

He was 34 years old. There’s no word yet on the exact circumstances of his passing , but he is sure to be greatly missed. Via NYDN : Former Mousketeer Marque “Tate” Lynche, who appeared on American Idol as an adult, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his Harlem apartment, authorities said Monday. The 34-year-old musician was discovered dead by his 44-year-old roommate at 4 p.m. at his apartment on W. 151 St. on Sunday, police said. There was no apparent trauma to his body, police said. The death was deemed suspicious and the Medical Examiner was determining the cause, cops said. “There was no note, no pills,” a police source said. “We’re waiting on the medical examiner.” Lynche appeared on the 1993 to 1995 seasons of the “All New Mickey Mouse Club” with Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera. Following his stint on the star-launching show, Lynche performed as Simba in “The Lion King” on Broadway and then as Tyrone in a production of “Fame.” “I am blessed to have a career where I can use the talent God gave me to put a smile on someone’s face,” the St. Petersburg, Fla., native wrote on his Facebook page. In 2004, Lynche was a semi-finalist as a contestant in Season 3 of “American Idol,” but was eliminated before the top 12. Fantasia Barrino went on to win that season. Lynche’s brother, Michael Lynche, a former college football player, competed in the show the following year and made it to the top four. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. So sad.
