Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell made headlines recently when he officially decided to run for mayor of Miami-Dade County, FL. Campbell is hoping to use his business savvy to help the city. Campbell stopped by WLRN-FM, a local station owned by the Miami Herald, to talk about his run for office. He repeatedly talked up his business savvy and how he brought new industry to Miami. “My business enhanced economics in this town,” Campbell told radio host Phil Latzman. “There was no music business here in South Florida in 1986 when I started off. We created a business. We employed people. We educated people.” We couldn’t help but chuckle at the 2:34 mark in the video when Campbell states that the mayor of Miami needs to have vision. By Kara Warner will.i.am and Jamie Foxx Photo: MTV News The new animated movie “Rio” has plenty of intriguing things going for it, including the wholesome love story of two parrots, bright colors, beautiful scenery and soothing samba music from composer Sergio Mendes. Even beyond that are the comedic stylings of the film’s supporting characters, namely smooth operators/ ladies’ birds Pedro and Nico, voiced by real-life ladies’ men will.i.am and Jamie Foxx . When MTV caught up with the jokesters recently at the junket for “Rio,” we asked what lengths they would go to in order to impress a woman. “I would do anything to impress women, because that’s why we do whatever we do,” Foxx said. “You actually think that we do this for money? That’s nothing. If tomorrow they said that women love tomatoes, best bet, I would have 40 acres of a tomato farm, letting girls do tours, you know what I’m saying? So whatever a woman likes is what I like.” And regarding their key strategies to being smooth, will.i.am had some very creative advice that may or may not involve a loofah. “The first key to being smooth is, you don’t necessarily always have to be smooth,” he said. “You feel what I’m saying? Girls know it. You need to be exfoliated. You can exfoliate with smoothness. You got to rub them rough edges, smooth ’em out. And the sold-out crowd of his birthplace loved him for it. All of Weezy’s I Am Still Music tourmates hit the stage on Thursday night, including Porcelain Black, Mix Master Mike & Travis Barker, and Ricky Rozay Ross, with an appearance by buddy DJ Khaled, each giving it their all, and the crowd was with them ever step of the way. After launching into the first quarter of his performance, “A Milli” and “Got Money” (with fellow Nola MC Mack Maine), Wayne gave the city another series of nods. Before getting into “Go DJ,” Wayne called out to DJ 45, “We in my hometown! You got some bounce for me?” And later, in his homage to fallen hip-hop icons, Wayne called out, “And if you from New Orleans, put your hands up for Soulja Slim,” paying his respect to the late rap star. Nicki Minaj had the audience in a frenzy when, instead of her typical move of choosing an audience member to give a lap dance to, she asked the audience, “So, y’all are Hornets fans? Usually I invite someone from the audience onstage. But today, there’s someone special.” The decibel level in the arena rose exponentially as Chris Paul seemed not too displeased at handling the honors for the night. The famed Hornets point guard sat down with a smile as Nicki did … well, what Nicki does. Young Money was on full display when Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda and Mack Maine joined Wayne for “Every Girl.” Ace Hood came out to perform “Hustle Hard,” his single with Wayne. Lil Chuckee, Lil Twist, Gudda, Mack and Millz came out for “Bedrock,” and Birdman graced the stage for a fiery set of “Fire Flame (Remix).” Then Wayne pulled out his final surprise of the night: bringing out Drake for “Miss Me” and “Forever.” Dreezy relished the chance to speak to his New Orleans fans and once more quell any rumors that he was leaving the Young Money family . “I wanna say one very important thing to you before I go,” Drake said. “I wanna let you know that New Orleans was truly the birthplace of my career. Y’all were the first people to f— with my music, and I recognize that. And just know that I’m Young Money forever, and this is my mother—-ing brother, and I love you, man,” he said turning to Wayne. During ‘MTV First,’ ‘Abduction’ star reveals favorite ‘Twilight’ scene. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Despite talk inevitably turning to Taylor Lautner’s upcoming action flick “Abduction” during his Wednesday (April 13), the questions we know everyone was dying to hear answered had to do with two other big movies he has on the horizon: “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” and “Part 2.” The “Twilight” gang has been filming the final two installments of “The Twilight Saga” since the fall, so we figured it was high time we ask Lautner which was the most exciting scene to film. “It’s really hard to choose because we’re filming two movies so we’ve been filming for five months. There’s been so much we filmed,” he explained. Still, Lautner admitted that there was one scene in particular that he shot not too long ago that he was a fan of because it was unlike any other that he’s filmed with co-star Kristen Stewart. “Recently we did a scene in the backyard of the Cullen house where Bella (Stewart) gets mad at me,” he said. “She just learned that I imprinted on her daughter, and she is literally throwing me around the backyard. So it was pretty fun to see Kristen try and act all tough. She’s a vampire; she’s chucking me across the yard into trees and stuff. It was funny.” In a tease that we rolled out earlier Wednesday (April 13), Lautner told MTV News that he thinks that by the time “Breaking Dawn” ends filming, there will be plenty of waterworks across the set. “Nobody will admit it right now, but I guarantee you there will be tears,” he said. We get it. Someone probably gave you a big check to carry out this foolishness, but it might be time to consider pulling the plug. Sheen and his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour limped and sputtered through town. And when the show ended — ahead of schedule — the actor ran from the stage like a scared felon ahead of a lynch mob. “F–k you, Charlie! F–k you, Charlie!” a row of young men chanted after Sheen sprinted from the theater. For an hour, Sheen chain-smoked like a criminal — “can I have a f–king cigarette?” — lobbed the F-bomb like a 4-year-old suffering from Tourette’s, and praised Donald Trump as a “real f–king dude.” He prattled and preened and told pointless — and worst of all, boring — stories about Hollywood, hookers, being rich and being Charlie Sheen. He talked about nearly getting caught after locking himself in an airplane bathroom while flying with actor Nicolas Cage and a seven-gram cocaine rock. “My balls are sweating like a gerbil in a Richard Gere convention,” he said. And that, my friends, was as good as it got. Then…it went ALL bad. After alternately motor-mouthing and begging for his job back at “Two and a Half Men,” Charlie abruptly ran out of gas. At the 45-minute mark, he simply stopped talking. Sheen sat onstage, smoking silently, next to a man who served as his interviewer — I never did catch his name. The co-star looked as if he wanted to cry. The paying audience should have. “Where are the goddesses?” an audience member cried. The two bimbos with whom Charlie lives smartly came out and waved — and then skedaddled. Charlie pulled the plug after losing the crowd, and ran from the stage ahead of trouble. Don’t say we didn’t try to tell you Chuck. Something bad is going to happen at one of these shows behind some drunk a**hole who wants to heckle you. The 35-year-old quarterback welcomed son Marshall Williams Manning and daughter Mosley Thompson Manning on March 31 in Indianapolis. The pair kept the pregnancy under wraps, as both are extremely private, but a source confirms : “It is true, and it is very happy news for them.” The newborn twins are the Mannings’ first children . Peyton’s younger brother, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, and his wife Abby welcomed a daughter, Ava Frances Manning, just 10 days earlier. The elder Manning, a surefire Hall-of-Famer, has dominated the NFL gridiron for more than a decade. He’s been married to Ashley for over 10 years, too.
