Charlie Sheen on Public Meltdown: Who Was That Guy?!?

What a difference a year makes. Nearly 13 months ago to the day – in the midst of a public meltdown that introduced the world to terms such as “Tiger Blood” and the ever-irritating “Winning!” – Charlie Sheen appeared on The Today Show and said he had no regrets over his behavior. “I’m going to live my life the way I want and I’m going to win every moment!” Sheen said at the time . Fast forward to this morning and… … Sheen told Matt Lauer this morning, on the same program, that he finds moments and quotes such as that “a little cringeable to watch because I don’t recognize part of who that guy was.” And who is Charlie Sheen now? Someone who still delivers the occasional rant , but who, through “a team effort, ultimately led by myself,” claims to have found a path back to sanity, one that will culminate this summer on FX’s Anger Management . “I couldn’t have the Two and a Half Men thing be my TV legacy – I couldn’t have it end on that note,” he said, bitter as always toward ex-boss Chuck Lorre.

David Archuleta Says (Not) Goodbye to Fans

THG’s second favorite Mormon is saying goodbye. Or not goodbye, based on the title David Archuleta has given his latest video blog. But the former American Idol runner-up is headed off on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at an undisclosed country and won’t be around for a very long awhile to update fans on his life or career. “It’s been a very emotional last week,” David says below. “It’s a decision everyone knows about but it’s a very personal thing and I wanted to keep it that way. So I hope you guys respect that, and you guys have so I appreciate that.” David Archuleta Says Goodbye Best of luck, Archie.

Pope Benedict and Fidel Castro met in Cuba on Wednesday, and the former Cuban leader asked the pontiff, “What does a pope do?” Benedict said his service to the church and foreign trips take up most of his time. The two octogenarians also joked about their ages during a half-hour meeting at the Vatican embassy in Havana. Kristen Stewart Promises Charlize Theron Will ‘Level You’ In ‘Snow White’

‘Ravenna and Snow White are bound,’ Stewart explains in new featurette about their young princess and evil queen characters. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart in “Snow White And The Huntsman” Photo: Universal Pictures In several new featurettes from Kristen Stewart’s “Snow White and the Huntsman,” fans get a taste of what looks to be a visually arresting, very dark spin on the classic fairy tale. With “No Church in the Wild” from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne album thumping in the background in the clip, Stewart and castmates Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron open up about making the Rupert Sanders-directed film. We also get a taste of what the film, which Theron describes as a “feast for [the] eyes,” will look like. “Snow White” is full of epic battle scenes and eye-popping CGI that helps tell the story of a young princess battling an evil queen. “The director, Rupert, conjured up visuals that absolutely transported you somewhere else and it wasn’t at all what I expected,” Stewart says. The big-screen retelling revolves around the feud between Queen Ravenna (Theron) and the inherently good Snow White (Stewart). “The Queen really symbolizes death and Snow White is the beating heart,” the director says of the struggle between the two leading ladies. “This is an incredible opportunity to create a world that people have never seen before.” Theron also talks about facing off with Stewart in another behind-the-scenes clip. “As on outsider, I see her for all the things the audience will, but as an insider playing her I had to not think about those things,” she explains. “Ravenna and Snow White are bound, in a way,” Stewart explains. “She can level you,” she added about Theron’s performance as the queen. A trailer will drop Monday during “The Voice” with an extended scene also hitting the Net that same day. In a new trailer sneak peek , the backstory is teased as Ravenna makes clear her intentions to kill Snow White. The film opens June 1. Hemsworth plays the Huntsman hired by the Queen to kill Snow and Sam Claflin rounds out the main cast as Prince Charming. Jessica Sanchez Channels Whitney on "I Will Always Love You," May Be "The One"

Jessica Sanchez sang Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” on American Idol this week, and with it, may have established herself as the Season 11 frontrunner. Seriously. If Jessica Sanchez wasn’t in your Top 5 heading into Wednesday night, she is now. It was awesome, in one word. Don’t believe us? Take it from the panel: Jennifer Lopez: [at a loss for words] “Just, just amazing.” Randy Jackson: “This is one of the hardest songs to sing.” Steven Tyler: “You may be The One. You just made 40 million people cry.” LOL. Try 20 million at best, Steve … which is no small feat of course. In any case, listen to the nearly flawless performance and try to hold back the tears below … Jessica Sanchez – “I Will Always Love You” (American Idol Top 13)

Will Hollie Cavanagh Get All the Votes That She Needs?

American Idol’s Hollie Cavanagh struggled a bit in her mentoring session, but she came through with flying colors on Dusty Springfield’s “All The Man That I Need.” Hollie definitely exudes a kind of Dusty Springfield vibe, both with her looks and with the arrangements she’s given, so it certainly works for her and then some. Mentor Mary J. Blige must have gotten through to her, as she gave Jessica Sanchez a run for her money for the night’s most complete female performance. “That’s the Hollie that I know from last year and this year,” said a wowed Jennifer Lopez, who’s predicting her for the finale after the following effort … Hollie Cavanagh – “All The Man That I Need” (American Idol Top 13)

Colton Dixon Makes Like Stevie Wonder on American Idol With "Lately"

Stevie Wonder. Colton Dixon. Those two things may seem like oil and water, and vocally, the latter’s rendition of the former’s “Lately” was not up there with the likes of Phillip Phillips . Nevertheless, he overcame any shortcomings in his pedigree and made do with effort and charisma … and besides, he’s got the heart throb thing down. How much you like Colton Dixon likely depends on your age and gender, and how far he lasts this season will hinge on whether he can expand that appeal. His “base” got him here, but he needs swing voters to carry him to the next level. Can it happen? An open question, but he’s not going home after this: Colton Dixon – “Lately” (American Idol Top 13)

Josh Ledet Makes a "Wish" on American Idol

“Mantasia” himself, Joshua Ledet, led off American Idol’s Top 13 with a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish” that he said was “totally out of my comfort zone.” With a little help from a piano player with a gospel background similar to Joshua’s, you wouldn’t have known it Wednesday night. He did a nice job with it. A pretty safe performance, perhaps, but a respectable one. “You just wore it out, at the top of the show,” Randy Jackson, never one to exaggerate at all, tells him. “You’ve got this amazing Church of God in Christ kind of voice … If you feel the beat and rock like that, you can sing anything.” Watch Josh Ledet perform below and see if you agree: Joshua Ledet – “I Wish” (American Idol Top 13)
