Atlanta Christian Rappers IV His Son Go In On Eddie Long & Creflo Dollar [VIDEO]

More:

IV His Son — two Atlanta-based Christian rap artists — and Jovan Mackenzy, in partnership with online production company CrownRightsMedia.com have made a video that is causing quite a stir in the Christian community. In the video IV His Son and Jovan Mackenzy are seen standing in front of the popular mega churches of two controversial Atlanta pastors, Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and Creflo Dollar of World Changers Church International . IV His Son asks the listener if they are supposed to follow Long and Dollar in lieu of all the controversy surrounding their “prosperity gospel,” as well as the sexual accusations that Long settled out of court despite vowing to fight them. IV His Son raps that believers should be following the Bible instead. Watch the video and let us know what you think! Rick Santorum hates religion but he hates puppies even more

What a silly over-the-top thing to say. It’s the sort of rhetoric that is ruining this country, damnit, and this is the greatest country on earth. Why, it’s a little bit like saying that the whole separation of Church and State thing we have baked into our constitution is out-dated, like Rick Santorum said on Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Balloon Juice Discovery Date : 26/02/2012 17:19 Number of articles : 2

The artistry leaps off the stage as black legs, brown arms and high-yellow bodies soar through the air in dances such as “Revelations.” At an Alvin Ailey performance it’s not quite clear what’s more beautiful: the black people on stage, or the ones in the audience swelling with pride and awe as they see people who look like them performing ballet and modern dance. African Americans so rarely see themselves dancing majestically. Pop dances such as the “Fox Trot” and the “Charleston” have now been replaced by the “Dougie” and the a’Wobblea’. At an Alvin Ailey performance however, black men and women are the manifestation of hopes and dreams as well as pain and suffering. Watch this snippet of “Rock My Soul” “Ailey will rock your soul!” from AlvinAileyAmericanDanceTheater on Vimeo . Ailey, born during the Depression in Texas, grew up in the church and juke joints. The conflicting forces fueled his sense of black pride and influenced what would later become a world-renowned dance company. Ailey started his troupe after moving to New York in the late ’50s and being dissatisfied with the style of dances performed at company’s there. “Revelations” is his most notable work, but its precursor was “Blues Suite.” The piece was derived from blues songs and it conveyed the African Americans’ suffering. While “Blues Suite” focused on the pain of black folks, “Revelations” showcased the perseverance and tenacity. It is a work of celebration influenced by Ailey’s rural upbringing in Texas.

Rev. Franklin Graham: Muslims See Barack Obama As A “Son Of Islam”

Who asked this guy for his shady opinion?? Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of evangelist Billy Graham and a prominent evangelical leader in his own right, waded into contentious waters Tuesday when asked for his views on the religious beliefs of President Obama and the GOP hopefuls. Graham, the CEO and president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, told a Morning Joe panel he couldn’t say for certain that Obama is a Christian. “You have to ask him. I cannot answer that question for anybody. All I know is I’m a sinner, and that God has forgiven me of my sins,” Graham said. “You have to ask every person. He has said he’s a Christian, so I just have to assume that he is.” But Graham also said he couldn’t “categorically” say Obama wasn’t a Muslim, in part, because Islam has gotten a “free pass” under Obama. Graham also said the Muslim world sees Obama as a “son of Islam,” because the president’s father and grandfather were Muslim. According to Edina Lekovic, director of policy at the Muslim Public Affairs Council, being born in a Muslim family doesn’t make one a Muslim. A person has to make an active choice to become a Muslim, Lekovic said. Obama has said again and again that he is a Christian, both as a presidential candidate and as president. “I’m a Christian by choice,” Obama told a group of New Mexico voters last September, answering a question from a member of the audience. He said he has embraced his faith even though growing up, “my family didn’t, frankly. They weren’t folks who went to church every week.” In Chicago, Obama was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for years, but he quit in May 2008 after videos of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s racially-divisive sermons surfaced on the Web. “Our relations with Trinity have been strained by the divisive statements of Reverend Wright, which sharply conflict with our own views,” Obama and his wife Michelle wrote at the time. The debate over the president’s faith was brought up again on the campaign trail this Saturday, when Rick Santorum told a Tea Party crowd in Columbus, Ohio, that Obama’s agenda is “not about you. It’s not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your job. It’s about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology.” Thoughts?? Source More On Bossip! R.I.P. Kevin Costner Remembers Whitney Houston at Funeral [Video]

Whitney Houston’s close friend and The Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner delivered a touching speech at her funeral yesterday in Newark, New Jersey. He recalled to mourners gathered at the church and fans watching online that Houston, despite her fame, was a humble woman who doubted herself. “The greatest pop star in the world didn’t think she was good enough,” Costner, 57, said of Houston, who died of a possible overdose last week at 48. “There were a thousand things that seemed to her to be wrong.” Kevin Costner Euolgy For Whitney Houston Kevin said there were many men who could’ve played his part in their iconic 1992 film, after which he remained close to Houston, but there was only one Whitney. When she was screen-testing for the role, which was put in production a year later than slated because she was on tour, Whitney Houston asked herself: “Am I good enough? Am I pretty enough? Will they like me?” As those attending the funeral laughed, Costner recalled how she almost sabotaged herself re-touching her own makeup, which melted under the studio lighting. “I wanted to tell her that the game was rigged, that I didn’t care how the test went, that she could fall down and start speaking tongues,” he said. “That no matter what she did, I’d find a way to explain it as an extraordinary acting choice. And gee, weren’t we lucky to have her?” Indeed. R.I.P.

Bobby Brown Leaves Whitney Houston’s Funeral Over Seating

‘In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene,’ singer says in a statement. By Sowmya Krishnamurthy, with additional reporting by Rebecca Thomas Bobby Brown at Whitney Houston’s funeral services in Newark, New Jersey Photo: Bennett Raglin/ Getty Images Bobby Brown did not attend the funeral services of his ex-wife, singer Whitney Houston, in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18). Brown arrived and left after a disagreement with security over his seating inside the New Hope Baptist Church, a source confirmed to MTV News. In a statement released to the press by his rep, Brown explained, “My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. “Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina,” the singer continued. “In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.” Whitney Houston’s funeral, or Home-Going, was held on Saturday at noon, and the Reverend Al Sharpton, who was also in attendance, weighed in on Brown’s arrival and departure in a series of tweets. “I am at Whitney’s funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!” Sharpton wrote a little after 1:15 p.m. In a subsequent tweet, the MSNBC personality pleaded on behalf of Brown’s case. “We are out of the service. I don’t want anyone distorting Bobby Brown. He has shown love and respect today. Stop hatin’ ” The traditional Baptist ceremony was a celebration of Houston’s life, rooted in the church and her New Jersey upbringing. An array of family friends, including Dionne Warwick, BeBe & CeCe Winans along with luminaries like Clive Davis, Stevie Wonder and Kevin Costner , who starred with Houston in the 1992 hit film “The Bodyguard,” spoke and performed. Among the others in attendance were actor/producer Tyler Perry Mariah Carey, who shared the 1998 duet “When You Believe” with Whitney. Bobby Brown Leaves Funeral After 20 Minutes Over Seating Dispute

Earlier reports stated that former husband Bobby Brown was unwanted at Whitney’s funeral. However Bobby said that was false and did arrive to the funeral as planned. However Bobby misunderstood or flat out did not care about how many invites he had. Just 20 minutes after Bobby arrived you can see him depart with his nine person entourage after getting into an argument with family members at the funeral.  Bobby walked up and touched the casket then walked to the back of the church. Allegedly he had a seat up near his daughter but the rest of his entourage would have to make other arrangements. Along Bobby’s side was also his son Landon and other friends and family members.  Reports are saying the family did not want Brown to even attend the funeral siting he was one of the main reasons Whitney had her untimely passing.  However after Rev. Al Sharpton stepped in and tried to calm the situation down Bobby was frustrated and departed the church (as seen in video below caught by TMZ).  And before stepping back in the church Rev. Al tweeted “spoke with Bobby Brown, trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is a day about Whitney!” 1.1024958#ixzz1mlX3Pj2y
