Tom Cruise loves Scientology. This is not a press-stopping statement, as the actor recently came out and referred to the religion as special and beautiful . But a new report claims Cruise finds something else special and beautiful as well. Or someone else, we ought to say: yup, Tom Cruise has a girlfriend! And it’s allegedly serious! According to Us Weekly, Cruise has been “romancing a British woman” for several months. He is yet to jump on any talk show’s couch about her, so not many details about the relationship or the Tom Cruise girlfriend are known at the moment. Heck, we’re not even sure of her name. But the tabloid claims that Cruise and this unidentified new lover early met in London in early June when he was filming The Mummy. The two reportedly went on a date at that time to Bourton-on-the-Water, an idyllic village in the Cotswolds, two hours outside the city Of course, some Tom Cruise critics may have difficulty believing this story. It is a long-held stance by many that Cruise only dates women selected for him by The Church of Scientology. There’s been talk of girlfriend auditions and plenty of chatter over how his entire marriage to Katie Holmes was a set-up. But this Us Weekly cover story would have us believe otherwise. It claims that Cruise’s British girlfriend is “very normal and pretty” and has taken to living with the Jack Reacher: Never Go Back star at his rental cottage on the outskirts of London. “They go on bike rides through the countryside. Sometimes Tom’s sister would join them,” an anonymous insider tells the magazine. That sounds very sweet. But are you buying it? Cruise is very public when it comes to selling his movies and promoting them on various talk shows. He’s happy to discuss his professional life. But good luck trying to get him open up about anything personal, such as whether he’s seen Suri any time in the last three years . It’s been over four years since Cruise split from Katie Holmes and this Us Weekly source says he is eager to make his latest romance last. “He’s serious about this relationship and wants to make it work,” claims the tabloid insider. “Tom wants some companionship.” Awww! That’s so sweet! Also pretty sad and sort of scary if the Church of Scientology really is playing any kind of role in Cruise’s love life. But still. Dear Bossip , I am 23 years old and I am financially secure. However, my job that requires a lot of my time. I recently decided that I needed to focus on my personal life and start dating. I started dating two guys. One is a total sweetheart, while the other is a sensitive asshole. Now, I know you might feel this should be an easy choice based off description, but it gets complicated. The sweetheart is 6’3, handsome, and the sex is AMAZING. The downfall is that he is broke. He is taking care of his grandma who is sick, so all his finances go towards their household. He does try to do sweet little things, like cooking me dinner, or buying me a single rose, but I am used to being wined and dined. He is also great with communication, but he can be quite corny at times. With the other the other guy, he is a sensitive asshole. However, he takes me out all around the city. He has even flown me to different cities, but we don’t talk for days at time, and his sex is mediocre. He often likes to belittle others and he is very rude. He likes to talk about himself way too much, also. He is sweet mostly to me, but the way he treats others is a turn off. Why do you feel you have to make a choice? Why make a choice and you’re busy with work, and you won’t have time, and you’re going to cancel dates because of your busy schedule and work life? Just date and have fun. Don’t make this more difficult and feel that you have to make a choice. You don’t. You’re dating. And, dating is just hanging out, enjoying someone’s company, and you have companionship for movies, dinner, brunch, outings, and other social events. That’s dating. So, I don’t understand what choice you feel you have to make. Girl, you folks will make things so hard and difficult when it doesn’t have to be. I swear some of you don’t know the difference between dating and a relationship. And, you wrote that you were interested in dating. Therefore, date. As I stated, dating is not being in a relationship with someone. It is having fun with someone else, going out, and getting to know one another. If you choose to have sex, then make sure you protect yourselves, and enjoy it. You’re not committing yourself to someone by dating. You are exploring the dating scene, and keeping your options open. And, guess what? You can date as many people at one time as you choose. (GASP!) Yes, dating doesn’t make you decide on one person. It’s seeing multiple people and enjoying multiple encounters as you desire. A relationship is when the both of you are interested in being with one another monogamously. You both are seeking to be in a relationship with one another, and you only want to focus on each other. You have decided, after a number of dates, that you want to build a future with that person. You and that person feel that you would be great partners together, and you have strong feelings for one another. You enjoy each other’s company, and companionship. You like being one-on-one with that person and vice-versa. You can see yourself being with this person for the long haul and meeting one another friends, family members, and loved ones. That is a relationship. You are dating two guys. Date them. Enjoy the company, and what each one brings to the table. The first guy seems great, but he just doesn’t have any money to do great and extraordinary things like the second guy. However, the first guy is creative in what he can do, and how he can entertain you. So, enjoy it, and him and stop complaining. He’s a nice guy, handsome, and has great sex. You’re not making him your man, and he hasn’t asked you to be his woman. Therefore, date, have fun, and keep it light and easy. And, it’s commendable that he is taking care of a sick grandmother, and her household. He’s a gentleman and cares about family. He’s attentive, and compassionate. Those are great qualities to have. Appreciate that, and him. And, who knows what may happen in the future. His situation will not always be the same, and it will change. Don’t be so eager to get rid of him for circumstances that are out of his control. The other guy likes to wine and dine you, which you enjoy. That is something you desire in a man. So, you’re getting what you want. However, he is not a nice person. He’s rude, self-indulged, and mistreats others. Besides, his sex is mediocre. What you do like is his money and what he can do for you, like the trips, and dinners. It really shows more about you than about him. If you are willing to put up with all this just so you can get nice dinners, trips, and little trinkets, then you are shallow. But, again, you are dating. So, enjoy the outings, help him improve on the sex, and curb his rudeness and call him out on it. Look, stop making this about a choice. It’s not. You’re dating. So, have fun and enjoy yourself. Let both of them know that you are dating and not looking for anything serious. And, stop being too serious because it’s not that deep. One of them will emerge, and when it’s time to consider a relationship I’m sure one of them will ask you, and that is when you can decide if a relationship is what you want at that time. There has been very little positive feedback from a majority of Black Twitter when it comes to anyone shouting “all lives matter,” so one can guess at the type of response the flyer garnered. Both artists have spoken out since the flyer has gone viral. Fantasia created an Instagram video saying the show was canceled. Charlotte Protester Justin Carr Dies From Gunshot Wound The protester that was shot in the head during last night’s Charlotte protest has died in the hospital. 26-year-old Justin Carr passed away late Thursday evening, after being shot by an unknown assailant. Many witnesses on the ground claim that Carr was gunned down by a Charlotte PD officer during a police ambush on the peaceful protest…a claim which the city still denies. Via MailOnline : The demonstrator who was shot in the head during Wednesday night’s riots in Charlotte has died. Justin Carr, 26, died on Thursday after being critically wounded during the unrest over the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott by a police officer. Carr was shot as protesters clashed with police in riot gear lined arm-in-arm protecting the Omni Hotel at about 8.30pm. City officials say Carr was not shot by an officer, but some protesters have claimed that he was wounded by a cop. No arrests have been made in Carr’s death, but a homicide investigation has been launched. Police Chief Kerr Putney says the detectives are determined to find who fired the fatal shots. Among those who question the city’s account of Carr’s shooting is the Charlotte Clergy Coalition for Justice. Several coalition members were just 10 feet from the victim when he was shot, according to the Charlotte Observer. ‘I saw the man go down on the pavement,’ Minister Steve Knight of Mission gathering Christian Church in Charlotte said. ‘It was an ambush. The victim was shot while he stood between two ministers, and we believe he was shot by police.’ SMH. Driver Runs Over Black Lives Matter Protesters Tensions are running high in the wake of back-to-back police killings of unarmed Black men . With rightful outrage coming from the side concerned about the value of Black Life…of course there is the opposing force that either doesn’t care or wishes harm . During a peaceful protest over the death of Terrence Crutcher near the Eastern Michigan U campus, sa motorist decided to simply plow through the protesters — likely at least injuring a few — and speeding off. Protester Shot During Charlotte Protests As protesters flooded the streets of Charlotte to protest the senseless police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott as he sat peacefully reading a book …chaos has slowly descended on the ciy — culminating in the near-fatal shooting of a protester. Via CNN : One person was shot Wednesday night during a protest over a deadly police shooting in Charlotte, city officials said. The person, who was not identified, is in critical condition and on life support, the city tweeted. Earlier the city had tweeted that the person had died. One police officer was injured, according to a city tweet. The officer was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. The riots and protests came on a day in which the city’s police chief gave more details on the shooting that took the life of Keith Lamont Scott. Many rioters and protesters dispersed after police fired tear gas before 11 p.m. ET. But some on the ground say there is a major discrepancy in what the news is reporting and what really occurred. Clergy members on the scene wanted it known that they saw an OFFICER fire on protesters in what they describe as an “ambush” by armed cops on the peaceful crowd… Even a reporter from Daily Mail witnessed the protester get shot senselessly… Naturally, Charlotte news outlets maintain that it isn’t true and a random civilian did the shooting instead. So sad… Shawty Lo’s Father Died Just Days Before Him Just days before his fatal car crash, Shawty Lo was mourning the loss of his father. The rapper real name, Carlos Walker, attended a homegoing service for his father on Saturday before passing away on Wednesday on an Atlanta highway. The AJC reports: Milton Swift, the Shawty Lo’s videographer and chef, went to the crash site to see where his friend died. A copy of rapper’s “Put Some Respek On It” CD was on the side of the road. Swift said he talked to Shawty Lo on Tuesday. “We just wrapped up a video dedication to his father called ‘Letter to My Father,’” Swift said. “We just buried him two days ago, and now we got to deal with this right here.” Swift called the rapper his brother and said he gave him his first shot in the music industry. “This guy was loved by his city,” Swift said. “He loved life. He loved people. He loved his family. He loved all his kids.” Although his friend said the funeral was two days ago, Shawty Lo’s longtime girlfriend Jai Jai shared a picture from the service last weekend. She’s since updated her Instagram page and she’s rightfully devastated. So, so, sad. Condolences to Shawty Lo’s entire family. Instagram
2 Chainz Opens Escobar Lounge In Atlanta Rapper 2 Chainz can now add “restaurateur” to his resume, the G.O.O.D. music maker just opened his first lounge in Atlanta with a “late night brunch” themed party hosted by Def Jam. The space is in the Castleberry Hill section of the city, known for its art scene and loft spaces. The restaurant is call Escobar, an obvious ode to Pablo Escobar.
