My name is Emilee and this was My Bieber Experience. From the…

My name is Emilee and this was My Bieber Experience. From the first time I heard “One Time” I was instantly hooked. I remember my friend showing me it because she thought the girl in the video looked like one of our friends from school. When she was showing me the video I had little interest in the girl and a wholeeee lot in the amazing boy who was singing the lyrics. Ever since then, Justin was (and still is) all I ever thought about. Now let’s fast forward to October 2010. That was the first time Justin was coming to my city with the My World Tour. Sadly, I didn’t have tickets and wasn’t able to go. I sat in my room that whole night and bawled my eyes out . I was so upset. I remember thinking there is no way I will ever be able to see him again. All of that changed when he released Believe on June 15th, 2012 and I found out he was going to have another tour! I was SO excited! The day the tickets went on sale, me and my sister sat on the computer trying to get them. Unfortunately, they sold out before we could even sign into Ticketmaster. I still remember that day. All I did was cry that whole day and think I really was never going to be able to see my idol live in person. I was crushed. That whole summer me and my sister spent our weekends driving all around our city trying to win tickets with different radio stations. We had no luck. But in October 2012, a local radio station released a new contest. It was called “Dads In Drag”. Yeah, that’s right. Exactly what you are thinking about. The contest meant your dad had to dress up like a drag queen and get as many votes as possible! The winner won two backstage passes, two meet and greets, two lower level tickets to the show, and $100 cash to spend at the merchandise table!! There was just one catch … There was only going to be 40 finalists out of like 1,000 entries. I was so nervous! I begged my dad to do it anyways and he said YES! I was so glad and thankful that he did! Guess what happened. My dad was chosen as one of the finalists!!! No one has any idea how excited I was when my mom called and told me! Now all that was left to do was vote! We had exactly one week to get as many votes as possible. That whole week it was all we talked, tweeted, and posted on facebook about. We were trying whatever we could to try and win these tickets. By the end of the week we had people from EIGHT different states voting for me to win! Eight! Finally the day had come and the radio station was going to announce the winner. I had school that day and the whole time I was freaking out. I kept texting my mom every 5 minutes asking if they had announced it yet. Finally they told everyone they would announce the winner at 3. I got out of school at 2 so I would be able to hear it. My dad came and picked me up from school that day and on the way home I got the best call any belieber could ever get. It was the radio station. I answered the phone and this is what they said, “YOU JUST WON TICKETS TO SEE JUSTIN BIEBER THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2ND!!!” I screamed as loud as I possibly could and started crying! I couldn’t believe I was getting to meet my idol in person in less than a week! It was seriously a dream come true. I will never forget that phone call, that summer, that contest, and November 2nd, 2012. a.k.a. THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!  The picture above is the picture my dad sent in for the contest.  We also were lucky enough to meet Dan Kanter! Thank you, for giving me a chance to share My Bieber Experience with other beliebers! Hopefully it gives them hope that one day there dreams can come true just like mine did!  Read the original: My name is Emilee and this was My Bieber Experience. From the…

Black Community Must Protest Stand Your Ground Law To Protect Black Youth

I’ve been trying to meet Justin since 2009. He’s…

I’ve been trying to meet Justin since 2009. He’s been my idol for 4 years now. I’ve participated in a lot of contests but I never won. I wanted to buy M&G tickets but they were sold out so I got normal tickets. One day, I was on bieberfever.com and I saw this contest to win M&G to the show in my city. I was a member so I decided to enter. My show was on November 26 th 2012, and on November 25 th 2012 I’ve got an email from BieberFever saying that I won the contest. I’ve never screamed like that, I was so excited I couldn’t believe it, I’ve never been lucky in these kind of things. Me and my friend have planned to go around the Bell Centre to maybe meet the crew or Justin, so we went even though we were already going to meet him. We waited 5 hours outside in the cold but it was too cold so we left at 1:30 to go to Starbucks. At around 4:00 p.m. we went to pick up our M&G wristbands. It was really long but we finally got in. In the line up, Dan showed up because he knew some people in the line. He stayed there for the entire time we were waiting. When it was time to meet Justin we went in the little tent. He said, “Hey guys” and I said “Hi Justin!” I wanted to hug him but the security told us we didn’t have time so he took me by the hips and put me behind him. We took the picture and then the security guard pushed me away. I said ‘JUSTIN’ and he turned around and looked at me and smile. I gave him the letter I wrote for him and he was like, “Omg this is for me?” He was really happy. I said, “Yes! Goodbye I love you so much,” and he said, “Aw I love you too,” with the cutest smile. He was so flawless and beautiful, and he smelled amazing. It was only 15 seconds but it was perfect. Then when I got out, Kenny, Jeremy, Jaxon and Jazzy were standing there. I said hi to Kenny and got to shake his hand. Then I said hi to Jeremy and he said hi back with a big smile. He has a really beautiful smile, that’s why Justin’s smile is so perfect haha. Jaxon and Jazzy were concentrated on something so I didn’t talk to them but they were adorable. I walked away because the security told me to leave, and when I left I saw Bruce. It was the best minute of my entire life. The show was beyond amazing, I’m so proud of him. Never give up on your dreams and never say never. I never thought that I would meet him one day and I never thought one day I would write my Bieber experience , I feel really lucky and I’m very grateful. I wish every belieber can experience it because it’s the best feeling in the entire world and every belieber deserves to meet Justin and the crew. -Laurence (@oneD_kidrauhl) See the original post here: I’ve been trying to meet Justin since 2009. Random Encounters: Drizzy Drake And Food Network’s Guy Fieri Whippin’ It Real Hard

Let Aubrey cook… Drake And Guy Fieri Pictured Cooking Together Via Hollywood Drake’s official fansite posted this photo to Instagram, sending fans of Drizzy and Flavortown into a tizzy. What wisdom could celebrity chef and New York Times victim Guy Fieri be teaching Jimmy Brooks? Conventional wisdom (and Fieri’s tweets) suggest that Drake was simply cooking with the TV host at a Toronto haunt while Fieri was touring the city for his show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. After all, Drake is a native of the the big Tee-oh, so who better to show Fieri around? Representatives from the Food Network have not returned requests for confirmation at the time of publication, but the evidence is pretty stacked. What do you think these two are bumpin’ their gums about? Image via Instagram

I know almost about everyone who has wrote a MyBieberExperience…

I know almost about everyone who has wrote a MyBieberExperience always says “I never thought I would be writing one of my own”, but I honestly never thought I would be writing one. It all started about a year ago with my best friend. I have been a fan of Justin from the beginning. My friend and I were in the city over the New Years holiday and we knew Justin was going to be performing in Time Square. We begged our parents to let us stay in Times Square to watch him perform but they said it was too much of a hassle. Anyways we were so devastated, but our parents promised us next time Justin came in concert, they would try there best to get us meet and greets and good seats. When we found out about Justin’s Believe Tour we told them right away. We ended up not finding out that we got MEET & GREATS AND 2ND ROW SEATS till 20 days before the concert at Madison Square Garden! Finally the day arrived. We got our hair done at a salon and started our way to the city to check into our hotel. Once we arrived at the venue we waited for our wristbands. Then we got in the line to MEET JUSTIN BIEBER. We were second to last. Finally it was our turn to go in. When I first saw Justin it was like a dream. I stopped walking and just stared at him. All that could come out of my mouth was “JUSTIN.” He said, “Hey sweetie how are you?” I couldnt say anything else but “I LOVE YOU.” Then he laughed and said “I love you too” and told me to go stand next to him for the picture. Once we took the picture I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a side hug. Then I left. As soon as I got out of the room with Justin I broke down. It was the best minute of my life, I couldn’t believe I just met my idol JUSTIN BIEBER. The one I sing and dance to in my room, the one who makes me happy when I’m sad, the one who gives me hope to BELIEVE AND NEVER SAY NEVER. After that we went to the concert and had amazing seats. JUSTIN SANG PART OF “BE ALRIGHT” AND POINTED TO ME. I couldn’t control my emotions. It was the best day of my life. I could relive it over and over again. If your reading this Justin I just want to tell you thank-you.  See the rest here: I know almost about everyone who has wrote a MyBieberExperience…

I can’t say I have been there from his very first YouTube video…

I can’t say I have been there from his very first YouTube video but I can say from the time I heard ‘Baby’ and ‘One Time’ on the radio, I was a fan. What really put me over the top? Seeing Never Say Never. The instant I saw that movie I got Bieber Fever. That same night I went home I looked him up and listened to all his music and learned almost every song in two days. When the director’s fan-cut came out I HAD to go see it again so I took my friend Lacey. She got Bieber Fever instantly too. From there out I was defiantly a Belieber. I just couldn’t get enough. I began listening to his music all the time. I was valedictorian for my high school and even mentioned Never Say Never and Justin in my speech. The summer of 2012, Lacey and I went to Stratford, Canada. It is beautiful there! It was so peaceful and calm. We went to all the locations mentioned on this special map they have made up for Justin. Even Madeline’s Diner which Justin “stamped” on the app. We even went to Pizza Pizza (the place they go to in Never Say Never) and the same guy was working there! It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back. Since we didn’t see Justin while in Stratford, we could not wait for our concert. I will never forget the day the tickets went on sale. I remember everyone talking about Justin being on the Ellen Show on Thursday of that week and that is when he would announce his tour and ticket sales. So I was waiting for that day. But when I woke up Wednesday I had a text from Lacey saying that tickets went on sale that day at noon! I had to babysit that day so at 7:30 in the morning I was running out of my room to go get on the computer to make sure this was true! It was so I began looking at all the tour dates. He wasn’t coming to my city or even my state so we had to figure out a place that was close because we knew we had to go to this concert. I had to go babysit so I had to take my laptop and make sure I could access the internet. Lacey was in class still so she was relying on me to get this tickets. I was shaking. When 11:50 come around I opened as many tabs as I could for the two closest cities to us. I had already transferred money for how much we thought the VIP would be because we knew we wanted those. When 12 hit I was clicking all the things I could to get these tickets. When I clicked on VIP they were more than I had planned! So I clicked them anyways and was watching the little clock that says how much time you have left to buy them so I could transfer more money. It said I still had at least 3 minutes left so I clicked to continue. When I clicked it said these tickets were no longer available! I was freaking out because it said I had time left. As soon as that happened I didn’t know what to do. This was everything we wanted. Lacey called me like 5 seconds after that happened and said she had tickets and she was about to put in her credit card information. I was so excited! She wasn’t even supposed to be home so luckily she got out of class early or we would have never got the opportunity we got. We started a countdown and just couldn’t wait. As it got closer I got more and more excited. I couldn’t believe I would finally be meeting Justin Bieber, this amazing guy that I thought I would never meet or even see in person. The day came and I skipped classes that day so we could get down there in plenty of time because we could not be late. We got to the arena and we just couldn’t believe we were there. When the doors opened for VIP we went in and got all the stuff we had to get. While waiting in line Kenny came to the top of the stairs and that’s when I knew it was real. They took us up and we had to wait another 20-30 minutes. Then Dan Kanter came out and that was even more real. Behind the black tarp we saw feet and knew it must be time, that Justin had arrived. They opened the curtain just for a split second to catch a glimpse of him. AHHH! I couldn’t believe he was like 10 feet away. The meet and greet started and it was then our turn to go in. I couldn’t believe Justin was right there. He was so tiny! The moment was so fast though, I didn’t have time to take it in. It was in, take a picture and go. I couldn’t even tell him my name. The only thing I said was “Can I have a hug?” and he said “Of course you can have a hug!” So if Justin, you read this, my name is Skylr and I met you in Louisville . I just want him to know my name. But it was an amazing moment to know Justin Bieber put his arm around me. After the meet and greet, we had to go back outside and wait to go back in. When we got to our seats I couldn’t believe how close we were! I had never sat that close at a concert. It was amazing! Second row, so close. Carly Rae Jepsen came out first and during part of her performance she come over and touched my hand! She picked my hand out of all the hands! But anyways…I couldn’t wait for Justin to come out. When it was his turn to perform I was too excited. I just could not believe I was there. I was so close to the stage and so close to him performing. I did not want the night to end. It was a great show and it was so hard to leave. I want to go to another show so bad. So the night had to end but the memories will remain forever. It was an amazing night and I still could not believe I had met this amazing person that I had dreamed about meeting for 3 years. Justin is so inspiration and just an all-around great person. I did not think I would ever meet him but I did. So if you read this, do not stop believing because anything can happen. Do not give up on something you want. I never thought I would get to go to his concert, sit 2 nd row, and meet him but when I want something, I will not stop until I get it. Never Say Never and just Believe. I can cross two things off my bucket list: meeting Justin Bieber and going to Stratford, Canada. Now, I just need to get Justin to follow me on Twitter. Even though I’m 19, I am not afraid to admit I am a BELIEBER! I will stand up and support Justin til the end. Belieber Forever & Always. -@SDM15  Read the original: I can’t say I have been there from his very first YouTube video…

What Does Nolan’s Final Word On ‘TDKR’ Mean For Those Joseph Gordon-Levitt Batman Rumors?

Christopher Nolan may have left the door wide open for speculation at the end of The Dark Knight Rises where Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Gotham cop John Blake is concerned, and he is producer/co-writer on Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel , which the rumor mill suggests could see a Very Special Gordon-Levitt cameo . But in a chat with Film Comment about his entire Batman trilogy, Nolan was asked if he was completely done with his Dark Knight universe. So what are the implications for those JG-L rumors? (Spoilers, if you haven’t seen TDKR …) “For me, The Dark Knight Rises is specifically and definitely the end of the Batman story as I wanted to tell it,” Nolan said, “and the open-ended nature of the film is simply a very important thematic idea that we wanted to get into the movie, which is that Batman is a symbol. He can be anybody, and that was very important to us.” I know, I know. Nolan keeps using phrases like ” specifically and definitely the end ” but it’s just so hard to let go of the hope that he’s just messing with us. ” Nah, J/K you guys — Joe’s totes the new Batman! ” the geekosphere desperately waits for him to say. Well, good luck getting anything concrete out of Nolan. I believe him when he says his run with the Batman universe is over, although that doesn’t mean it’s not possible that Gordon-Levitt might pop up at the end of Man of Stee l in a bat-cowl to give Superman a Justice League fist bump. Warner Bros. may love Nolan for giving them a super respectable, arguably Oscar-worthy Batman series, but they’re not dumb. WB will squeeze every drop of Bat-juice out of the character, regardless of how Nolan retains the integrity of his fully explored, definitely closed chapter of Bat-lore. “Not every Batman fan will necessarily agree with that interpretation of the philosophy of the character,” Nolan said, “but for me it all comes back to the scene between Bruce Wayne and Alfred in the private jet in Batman Begins , where the only way that I could find to make a credible characterization of a guy transforming himself into Batman is if it was as a necessary symbol, and he saw himself as a catalyst for change and therefore it was a temporary process, maybe a five-year plan that would be enforced for symbolically encouraging the good of Gotham to take back their city.” “To me, for that mission to succeed, it has to end, so this is the ending for me,” he continued. “And as I say, the open-ended elements are all to do with the thematic idea that Batman was not important as a man, he’s more than that. He’s a symbol, and the symbol lives on.” Symbol, protege, replacement, reboot — what do you make of the Gordon-Levitt rumors in light of Nolan’s comments? A “Lil Positivity”: DC Finishes The Year With Less Than 100 Homicides

For many in the DMV, this is definitely something to celebrate! From crack in the 80′s to being dubbed “the Murder Capital of the U.S.” in the 90′s, Washington, DC has gone from roughly 500 homicides annually to less than 100 this year. That’s something that hasn’t been done since 1963!! According to ABC News , the decline in numbers has been lowering each year: The crack epidemic that began in the 1980s ushered in a wave of bloodletting in the nation’s capital and a death toll that ticked upward daily. Dead bodies, sometimes several a night, had homicide detectives hustling between crime scenes and earned Washington unwelcome monikers such as the nation’s “murder capital.” At the time, some feared the murder rate might ascend to more frightening heights. But after approaching nearly 500 slayings a year in the early 1990s, the annual rate has gradually declined to the point that the city is now on the verge of a once-unthinkable milestone. The number of 2012 killings in the District of Columbia stands at 78 and is on pace to finish lower than 100 for the first time since 1963, police records show. “It strikes me probably daily as I ride around the city, or sometimes when I’m sitting at home at night, and it’s 10 o’clock and my phone’s not ringing. Or I get up in the morning, and I go, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve slept five hours,” said Police Chief Cathy Lanier, who joined the department amid violent 1991 street riots. “It strikes me quite often how different things are now.” The drop reflects a downward trend in violent crime nationwide and is in line with declining homicides in other big cities. Though killings have risen in Chicago, New York City officials say homicides dropped to 515 last year from more than 2,200 in 1990. Houston reported 198 homicides last year, down from 457 in 1985, while Los Angeles police reported fewer than 300 last year after ending 1992 with about 1,100. Across the country, violent crime reported by police to the FBI fell by 3.8 percent last year from 2010. Though D.C. is hardly crime-free today, and crime in some categories is even up, the homicide decline is especially notable in a place where grisly acts of violence — sometimes not far from the U.S. Capitol — embodied the worst of the crack scourge. The number of homicides in this city of about 600,000 residents averaged about 457 between 1989 and 1993, a staggering rate that attracted unwanted attention. “A war zone? No, Washington, D.C.,” was the sub-headline of a 1992 People magazine story that described Washington as a “city under siege.” The Economist in 1995 called it “the violence capital of America.” Tony Patterson, a longtime homicide detective, recalled one eight-hour shift when every detective on his squad landed a homicide investigation. Drive-by shootings with multiple victims were common, as were witnesses who’d see something — but say nothing. Officials say renovations, the Nationals MLB stadium, and of course…gentrification, have all contributed to the low numbers. Images via tumblr
