Source: Prince Williams / Getty Tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta starts with the reminder of Rasheeda and Kirk’s couples retreat. This was after the point that Sierra revealed that she cheated on BK… after she was mad at BK for an alleged (as per Karlie) inappropriate conversation with Pooh. BK is pissed and pulls his hood over his face because he doesn’t want to look at her. He’s irritated that Sierra has been looking like “the perfect person” this entire time while he has been looking like a dog. Then Sierra, in her confessional, says they both cheated on each other, then BK cheated again so they need to keep their distance for the rest of the trip. Kirk and Rasheeda give them some advice then move on to Joc, his girl, Kendra, and all the stuff Karlie was saying about messing around with Joc. Karlie immediately starts getting defensive and Kendra ain’t with it. Kendra threatens to dog walk Karlie but that can’t happen because security got them on lock. Once everything calms down the group, mainly Bambi and Rasheeda, attempts to talk to Karlie about playing carrier pigeon and starting drama. Karlie gets defensive and this goes nowhere but everyone thinks she’s trippin, which she is. Rasheeda, understanding that Karlie Redd is going through some things (miscarriage and breakup), goes to talk to Karlie for some one on one time and to give her more advice, which is that a relationship comes with love, trust, and forgiveness. They hug it out then we head back to the city. Mimi meets Pooh for a kiki because she feels like she’s caught in the middle of Karlie and Pooh’s drama since their circle of friends go back about 10 years. Mimi calls Pooh out for what she had Che Mack do at the engagement party. Pooh basically said she was mad that Karlie didn’t invite her to the party. Yeah, she’s a bird. She also tells Mimi that she doesn’t mind talking to Karlie and trying to find a resolution and she doesn’t want the other girls to misunderstand her, so she’s going to throw a cocktail party and everyone’s invited. Yeah, that’s going to go well. On the final day of the retreat at the cabin, Rasheeda has them doing the same exercise that keeps popping up during various Love and Hip-Hop group trips lately, across the franchise. Basically, they write a message on a paper boat and then sail away. The message is supposed to be something they want to let go. Everyone gets off what they need to get off and they feel like they lifted a load off. And Mo even finds Karlie again and they make up. The engagement is back on Back in Atlanta, We find Tokyo Vanity performing at what Spice calls “one of the biggest shows in Atlanta.” Spice and Tokyo are buddy-buddy now so Spice is there supporting her girl. Che Mack is also there, chilling. Then Akbar V comes through and tells Che she feels some type of way about all these girls coming to Atlanta when she’s actually from there. Basically, trying to create beef out of nothing…but really for camera time. Anyway, she performs later on and starts trash talking on the mic about how “everybody comes to Atlanta tryna get on” then she starts rapping about how real she is and lowkey insults the other transplant rappers around her (aka taping the show). This is obviously aimed at Obviously Tokyo Vanity feels some type of way so she grabs a mic and tells her to put a name on it. Akbar V says Tokyo don’t want no smoke. But you know she does. They attempt to fight but security gets them together until Spice, who is watching this all goes down in the cut, stealthily kicks off her Louboutins, hurdles over a couch and sprints toward Akbar V in an attempt to deliver Yardie fade. But security. You already know they were not going to let that happen. So much for Akbar V “changing.” Anyway, let’s fast forward a bit. So, Pooh felt she was wrong about what she did to Karlie Redd at her engagement party. She also doesn’t want the other women to get the wrong idea of her so she decided to have a cocktail party. Because these types of things always go well. Anyway, it ends with Karlie Redd and Pooh trying to kill each other again, with Pooh once again talking about how Karlie licked her butt and she says Karlie owes her $750. Security doesn’t let them fight and that’s that. Next week we’ll have a Che Mack’s baby-daddy-cheating-scandal to look forward to. For the past several years, Meri Brown has appeared to have a serious problem with her polygamist lifestyle. It makes sense — being a Sister Wife looks like it really, really sucks. Meri has been unhappy for as long as Sister Wives has been a thing, and it’s easy to imagine her unhappiness existed before then, too. She’s admitted to struggling with sharing her husband, Kody, with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, and we’ve also seen some tension from the fact that she was only ever able to have one child. But in the past few years, things have definitely gotten worse. In 2015, Meri found herself in what we would call an emotional affair with a man she met online. The man turned out to be a woman — she got catfished — but still, she clearly developed feelings for this person that went beyond friendship. After it happened, the family tried to stand by her and spin the whole thing in an anti-catfish way, but at the end of the day, they saw that Meri had pretty much been stepping out on Kody. Which is fine, to be clear. Kody has three other wives, and no one could blame her for looking for something somewhere else, but the way the Sister Wives operate is that the women are faithful to their husband while he rotates marriages on a schedule. As we saw on the show, the relationship between Kody and Meri really suffered for all of this, and at several points, it seemed like they weren’t going to make it . For a while, she told him that she didn’t want him staying at her house anymore, and more recently, he thought she was over it when she made the decision to buy her bed and breakfast. But for some reason, they’re still kicking, and now they’re kicking in a brand new state! Yep, last fall, the Brown family moved out of Las Vegas and over to Flagstaff, Arizona . And you’ll never believe this, but Meri seems to be unhappy with the way things are now. This weekend, she took to Instagram to explain the way she’s feeling these days, and honestly, it doesn’t sound great. “Yesterday I had this overwhelming emotion of missing Las Vegas, the place I called home for nearly 8 years,” her message began. “I mean, I was really really sad for not living there anymore.” “So much life there, so many friends,” she continued. “It was home for me. I loved it.” “Then this morning I wake up, sun is shining, beautiful day. I mean, my back yard is the mountains for heavens sake!” Meri said. “How could I not love this??” She then tried to turn her frown upside down by saying “Though I’m new here to Flagstaff and it doesn’t feel like home yet, I look forward to this summer, exploring the city, the amazing nature that surrounds me, and of course meeting new people, trustworthy friends.” “There’s a lot of life ahead of me here,” she finished, “and I’m anxious to see where it takes me.” So it really sounds like she’s not happy but trying to make the best of it, right? Story of her life. We hope that she really does start feeling at home in her new city, because it’s definitely got to be a difficult transition. But she could also, say, move back to Las Vegas on her own and ditch the Sister Wives crew so she can finally be truly happy. Just an idea!

Source: Jeffrey Mayer / Getty Tasha Smith may appear to be the epitome of stability and focus, but the Empire actress says that wasn’t always the case. Instead, when she was young, she claims she frequently dabbled in cocaine. On the March 29 episode of TV One’s Uncensored , the actress opened up about being a teenage single mother in Camden, NJ and being sucked into a life of drugs after dealing with a lifetime of abuse. “As beautiful as Camden was, it was a place where I dealt with sexual, physical abuse, a place where I did all kinds of drugs,” she said. “I was doing cocaine at the age of 14. I really could have been a crackhead today.” Wow. And while she faced a lot of adversity, the 48-year-old said even back then as a 15-year-old she recognized that the city gave her a sense of resilience as she hustled her way out. “[Camden] was also a place that gave me a lot of resilience, perseverance and hustle.” Eventually she moved to Los Angeles and began working as a comedian and actress, getting tapped by Tyler Perry to play in films such as “Why Did I Get Married.” “We all have situations to overcome, but you don’t quit,” she said. “You keep trying.” On a recent episode of the Wendy Williams Show , Tasha also joked about her past as a stripper, saying that if she had to strip now, she couldn’t make it. “Sis, it’s so funny when I hear myself talk about stripping because honestly if I had to strip today, honey I wouldn’t make it.” Adding, “I mean, I’m not that good. I knew how to shake my ass, and because back then you didn’t have all the booty injections.” “You didn’t have to do an acrobatic trick on the pole, honey. All that I needed…as soon as that top came off, I got the bag.” Tune into Uncensored on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TV One. ***Editor’s Note: HelloBeautiful is owned by Urban One , which also owns TV One. Source: The Washington Post / Getty Chicago To Elect First Black Female Mayor This Week Something historical is about to happen in the City of Chicago and for once it has nothing to do with stats about violence and death. Tuesday, the city will elect the very first Black female mayor of the city as both candidates, Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle, are Black women. Despite the sistahood invovled in this historical campaign, things did get VERY contentious with questions of racial authenticity, negative campaign ads, and public name-calling according to USAToday . The heated race has lead leaders like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to call for the two sides to agree to a “unity pledge” press conference on Wednesday morning after the election. “The race was competitive and often divisive,” Jackson said. “The race ends Tuesday. The healing must begin Wednesday morning.” Based on the polls, it looks like Lightfoot has a HUGE lead on Preckwinkle at 53% to 17% and the former recently compared the latter to the most disgusting of creatures… “It’s like cockroaches – there’s a light that’s shined on them,” Lightfoot said at an event where she signed an ethics pledge and took her shot at Preckwinkle and the other candidates. “They scramble.” Lightfoot, who is also part of the LGBTQ community, might have residual vitriol that stems from rhetoric far more incendiary than political name-calling… Lightfoot, who is a lesbian and would be the city’s first openly LGBTQ mayor, questioned whether Preckwinkle “was blowing some kind of dog whistle” to conservative voters after the county board president brought up her sexual orientation at a debate. (Should Lightfoot win, Chicago will become the largest city to be led by an LGBTQ person.) We’re glad to see that there are two Black women who are passionately chasing the highest office in The Windy City. Hopefully, that healing that Rev. Al and Jesse are calling for can be achieved.
