See for yourself now: Kelly Clarkson – “Dark Side” (Official Music Video) Clarkson – along with John Legend, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke – will anchor a new singing competition on ABC titled Duets . It premieres tonight.
ABC’s new reality singing show puts seasoned superstars onstage with amateur singers. By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News At first glance, “Duets” may just seem like another reality singing competition, but the new ABC show couldn’t be more different. Because this time, the superstars are not behind a judging panel, but onstage with the contestants. The show, which premieres Thursday (May 24), pits pop star Kelly Clarkson , Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles and R&B crooners Robin Thicke and John Legend against one another as they pair up with two amateur singers, whom they found before the show. Each week the stars will battle it out, duet style, in front of a live audience to ultimately win the grand prize for the amateur singer: a recording contract with Hollywood Records. “I basically just found my two people on my own,” Kelly Clarkson told MTV News recently at an event announcing ABC’s fall lineup. “[Robin] found them a completely different way and John found his a completely different way, it’s kind of really random, but it’s cool though.” Going into the competition, Clarkson figured she had a slight advantage given her experience on “American Idol,” which she won during the first season. But as soon as cameras started rolling for “Duets,” she realized she had her work cut out for her. “It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work,” Clarkson admitted. “I totally thought I had a one-up from ‘Idol’ … It is way harder.” “I’m just going to try and do kind of what I did on ‘Idol’ and hopefully that will help my people,” Clarkson said. “It’s not really as much up to us, the stars on the show, it’s more for the kids that really just need to make sure they are bringing their A-game every week.” Are you excited for “Duets”? St. Patrick’s Day is here, and what better way to celebrate than with beers and rears? Lasses named Pat are where it’s at, and Patricia Clarkson , Tera Patrick and more prove it. So wish yourself the lick ‘o the Irish with these pretty Patties, and you’ll be wishing they were kissing your Blarney bone.
She didn’t forget any lyrics, don any especially tight clothing or hold the final note for 45 seconds. Instead, Kelly Clarkson simply did what she did best prior to Super Bowl XLVI tonight: she showed off an incredible voice, clocking in the national anthem at just under one minute and 34 seconds (for those of us who may or may not have wagered on its length). Were you impressed by the performance? Did Kelly nail or or fail it? Watch Clarkson honor America now: Kelly Clarkson National Anthem (Super Bowl)
You know what day it is, right? That day that Madonna is performing on national TV! (And we hear some guys might be playing football, or something.) But as we await Madge and her plethora of special guests (reportedly including Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, M.I.A., and Cee Lo Green) there’s one more major artist making an … More » Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Idolator Discovery Date : 06/02/2012 00:24 Number of articles : 2
Republican presidential hopeful even shouts out the singer in a speech leading up to the Iowa caucus. By James Montgomery Ron Paul Photo: Getty Images Even as he continues to battle for votes in the final hours of the Iowa caucus , Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is already a front-runner in another contest: the quest for celebrity endorsements. Yes, in recent days, Paul has surged to the forefront of high-profile support, picking up the backing of singers Kelly Clarkson and Michelle Branch (both of whom subsequently felt the wrath of Paul’s detractors, though, hey, Clarkson may have gotten a sales bump out of it). But they’re just the latest in a list of seemingly disparate stars who have endorsed the candidate. “Fear Factor” host/ UFC fanatic Joe Rogan has already gone on the record as saying he supports Paul’s candidacy, as has comedian Doug Stanhope and actor Vince Vaughn, who introduced him at a political conference in Nevada back in September. Staind frontman Aaron Lewis is also onboard. In a speech Tuesday (January 3) at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa — given to an audience of young voters — Paul even mentioned Clarkson by name, asking the assembled students, “Does anybody here know the name Kelly Clarkson? … Recently, she endorsed me. … I had to admit, I didn’t know a whole lot about her, but I did know that our supporters were so enthusiastic about it they went out and bumped up sales of her record by 600 percent.” MTV is on the scene in Iowa! Kelly Clarkson stepped into some serious controversy last week when she endorsed Ron Paul for President of the United States. But the singer made up for that snafu in New Orleans last night, playing a long, free set as part of the the 2012 Allstate Fan Fest, an event that preceded this evening’s Allstate Sugar Bowl between two undeserving BCS teams, Michigan and Virginia Tech. Among other hits, the first-ever American Idol belted out such singles as “Since U Been Gone,” “Stronger,” “Mr. Know It All” and “Breakaway.” Listen to a version of “You Love Me” below: Kelly Clarkson – You Love Me (Live) “Thanks New Orleans! That was fun :)” Clarkson Tweeted after the concert.
A Video I Made for Justin Bieber using the song “Beautiful Disaster (Live)” by Kelly Clarkson. Lyrics: He drowns in his dreams An exquisite extreme I know He’s as damned as he seems And more heaven than a heart could hold And if I try to save him My whole world could cave in It just ain’t right It just ain’t right Oh and I don’t know I don’t know what he’s after But he’s so beautiful Such a beautiful disaster And if I could hold on Through the tears and the laughter Would it be beautiful? Or just a beautiful disaster He’s magic and myth As strong as what I believe A tragedy with More damage than a soul should see And do I try to change him? So hard not to blame him Hold on tight Baby hold me tight Oh and I don’t know I don’t know what he’s after But he’s so beautiful Such a beautiful disaster And if I could hold on Through the tears and the laughter Would it be beautiful? Or just a beautiful disaster I’m longing for love and the logical But he’s only happy hysterical I’m searching for some kind of miracle Waited so long Waited so long He’s soft to the touch But frayed at the end he breaks He’s never enough And still he’s more than I can take Oh and I don’t know I don’t know what he’s after But he’s so beautiful Such a beautiful disaster And if I could hold on Through the tears and the laughter Would it be beautiful? Or just a beautiful disaster He’s beautiful Oh he’s so beautiful He’s beautiful http://www.youtube.com/v/AiG6ZECsC3k?version=3&f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Go here to see the original: Beautiful Disaster (Live) (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics
Farrelly brothers bring the Stooges into present day but leave their classic comedy style intact. By Kara Warner Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos and Sean Hayes in “The Three Stooges” Photo: 20th Century Fox The Farrelly brothers have finally unleashed the first trailer for their “Three Stooges” movie, and if you’re a fan of Larry, Moe and Curly’s classic slapstick, consider it an early Christmas gift. The nearly two-minute spot opens at the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage, where a burlap sack containing the baby Stooges is dropped at the doorstep, complete with the first eye-poke gag. The rest of the trailer features a smorgasbord of classic “Three Stooges” quotes, gags and slapstick, with a couple of modern twists thrown in. There’s the familiar “spread out!” shout when the boys prep for a fight, Curly’s panting and dog barks when he spots a beautiful woman (one of whom is played by “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara) and their “Mind your P’s and Q’s” gag. There are lobsters stuck to faces and dropped in pants, plus countless objects thrown at our main characters. In one scene, the guys are introduced to the iPhone, which Curly puts up to his eye to try and blink-talk with someone. The final shot of the trailer features some very familiar faces: JWoww and Snooki from our very own “Jersey Shore.” “Hiya, Snook, I gotcha a present,” Larry says, holding out a cardboard box to an unsuspecting Snooki. “Go on, open it.” Snooki opens the top and a hand jumps out and pokes her in the eye. “Owww!” she yells, and the trailer fades to black. After years of false starts and attempts to reboot the classic eye-poking, head-bonking comedy franchise with stars such as Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro and Jim Carrey , the movie now is being headlined by the trio of Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamontopoulos. Although the film is not yet rated, when MTV News caught up with the Farrellys earlier this year, they promised to keep things PG. “The Stooges, by the way, are just naturally and organically PG,” Peter Farrelly said. “That’s what it is. We wouldn’t want it to be what it isn’t. It’s like ‘Napoleon Dynamite,’ as funny as that was, that was a PG movie, not PG-13. It’s just natural, and this is what the Stooges is. “They are Moe, Larry, Curly as you remember them,” he added when asked if the co-directors had plans to modernize the characters at all. “It’s not a biopic. It’s the episodes just as you saw but we rewrote, we have all new episodes. We have three episodes. Technically, each episode picks up where the last one left off. Each one begins with its own theme, so it’s about an hour and 25 minutes. Three episodes, fun, old-fashioned, but it takes place present-day, and they look, dress and sound like the Three Stooges.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Three Stooges.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
