Miranda Barbour says she left a deadly trail of bodies in her wake before being arrested for a single murder earlier this winter, but is she telling the truth? The claims are chilling … but are they possibly true? The D.A. in Northumberland County, Pa., doubts that the 19-year-old girl killed anyone beyond LeFerrera, whose sex ad on Craigslist she answered. Who stupidly returned to the scene of the crime and got caught, then gave herself up? The D.A. doesn’t buy it, and he may have reason to be skeptical. Anyone twisted enough to do what she did to even one person is clearly capable of inventing the rest, so it will be interesting to see what the investigation yields. Barbour has committed one murder, however, in his mind. That would the man who she says she and husband Elytte met on Craigslist and stabbed 20 times.  He may ask for the death penalty for that offense alone, although Barbour’s lawyer has already asked a judge to block any bid for execution of his client. Michael Dunn Convicted of Attempted Murder For Firing on SUV Full of Teens Playing "Rap Crap"

Michael Dunn was found guilty on four charges, including three for attempted second-degree murder, in connection with a shooting involving an SUV full of teens. Dunn allegedly got into an argument with them over loud music. He is looking at decades in prison, and yet there was no verdict on the first-degree murder charge related to the death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis. Michael Dunn Guilty of Attempted Murder Dunn’s lawyer, Cory Strolla, told reporters on Saturday that his client was “in disbelief … even as he sat next to me, he asked, how is this happening.” “It has not set in. I don’t think it will set in anytime soon.” The incomplete finale to this emotional, hot-button trial, largely because of the fact that Dunn is white and the teens who were shot at, including Davis, are black. For many, the Florida case echoed George Zimmerman ‘s trial for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin about 120 miles down the road in Sanford. While the state’s controversial Stand Your Ground law wasn’t used by Dunn (or Zimmerman), his lawyers similarly argued that he fired in self-defense. Given the partially hung jury, State Attorney Angela Corey said prosecutors would press for a new trial in Duval County, Fla., on the murder charge. “Justice for Jordan Davis is as important as it is for any victim,” said Corey, whose office also famously handled the Zimmerman case in 2012-13. Dunn is not a free man , unlike Zimmerman. Nor may he ever be. Prosecutor Erin Wolfson explained on Saturday night that each attempted second-degree murder conviction carries a minimum sentence of at least 20 years. “You are looking at basically at life in prison,” Strolla said, even as he vowed to challenge the convictions. “At 47, that’s a life sentence regardless of count one.” The decision to convict on these counts, and not on murder, didn’t come easily for a jury that had deliberated for about 30 hours since getting the case. Judge Russell Healey said earlier that the jury of four white women, two black women, four white men, an Asian woman and a Hispanic man was “struggling, obviously.” “But it’s not for want of trying to reconcile all of this,” he said. “I think we’ve got some analytical people trying to do just that – trying to analyze this from every possible angle.” The lack of a murder conviction upset some, including protesters who marched outside the Jacksonville courthouse calling for Corey to lose her job. “The people united will never be defeated,” they also chanted. Yet Davis’ mother, Lucia McBath, didn’t express any anger when she addressed reporters last night. Her family, she said, is “so very happy to have just a little bit of closure.” “It’s sad for Mr. Dunn that he will live the rest of his life in that sense of torment, and I will pray for him,” McBath said. “And I’ve asked my family to pray for him.” It was back on November 23, 2012, when Michael Dunn pulled into a gas station in Jacksonville, parking next to a red Dodge Durango full of teenagers. The teens pulled in for gum and cigarettes; Dunn ad just left his son’s wedding with his fiancee, who’d gone inside the convenience store for wine and chips. Dunn didn’t like the loud music – “rap crap,” as he called it – coming from the teens’ SUV. He asked them to turn it down, and what came next depends on whom you ask. Dunn says Davis threatened him, and he decided to take matters into his own hands upon seeing what he thought was the barrel of a gun sticking out of the Durango. But prosecutors asserted that it was Dunn who lost control, firing three volleys of shots – 10 bullets total – at the SUV because of the music he didn’t like. Prosecutors challenged specifically what he did after the altercation: He left the gas station and drove 40 miles away to a bed and breakfast in St. Augustine. There, Dunn walked his dog, ordered a pizza, then drank rum and cola, “stunned and horrified, (shocked how) things escalated the way they did over a common courtesy.” After learning almost six hours later that he had killed Davis, Dunn testified that he became “crazy with grief,” experiencing stomach problems for hours before napping. “My intent was to stop the attack, not necessarily end a life,” he testified. Yet his fiancee, Rhonda Rouer, testified that Dunn never mentioned any weapon to her – be it a shotgun, a stick, a barrel or a lead pipe – unlike what Dunn said. In fact, police found a basketball, basketball shoes, clothing, a camera tripod and cups inside the teenagers’ Durango, but no evidence of any firearm. Dunn himself never called police, either. The first contacts he had with them were at his home in Satellite Beach, 130 miles south of St. Augustine, as he was being apprehended in the case. Arguing that he wasn’t in a rational state of mind, Dunn admitted, “It makes sense that I should have (contacted authorities). We didn’t. I can’t tell you why.”

Justin Bieber’s arrest record has officially gone international. The singer turned himself in Canadian police last night and now faces criminal assault charges stemming from a night out in late December. Justin Bieber Arrested in Canada According to a press release from the Toronto Police Service, a limousine picked up Bieber’s party around 3 a.m. on December 30, following a Toronto Maple Leafs game and a few hours inside a club. An “altercation” then “occurred between one of the passengers and the driver,” with authorities saying “a man struck the limousine driver on the back of the head several times.” The driver pulled over, called the police and the alleged culprit “left the scene” before cops arrived. Witnesses have come forward in the past few days and said Bieber was the person who assaulted the driver. Russell Johnson Dies; Gilligan’s Island Professor Was 89

Russell Johnson, a veteran actor forever best known as playing The Professor on Gilligan’s Island, died this morning at his hom in Washington. He was 89 years old. Johnson’s agent, Michael Eisentstadt, confirmed the sad news and said his client passed away of natural causes while surrounded by his wife and daughter. Despite the star’s age, the death was unexpected. “I spoke to him right before the holidays and he did an autograph job,” says Eisentstadt.” He had just done that and he was fine.” Dawn Wells, who portrayed Mary Ann on beloved series, posted a picture of herself, Johnson and Bob Denver (Gilligan) on Facebook in response to the news and wrote: “My 2 favorite people are now gone. The Professor [passed] away this morning. My heart is broken.” Johnson starred on the show from 1964 to 1967. The only surviving members of the regular cast now are Wells and Tina Louise.

Ma’lik Richmond Released After Only Serving 9-Months In Jail Via RadarOnline reports: Ma’lik Richmond, one of the two Steubenville High School jocks convicted in the rape of a 16-year-old girl at an Aug. 2012 party, is a free man. Richmond’s lawyer Walter Madison said his client, 16-years-old at the time of the crime, saw the error of his ways during the nine months he spent in a juvenile facility. “While away, Ma’Lik has reflected, learned, matured, and grown in many ways,” Madison said in a statement. “He is a better, stronger person and looks forward to school, life, and spending time with family.” Bob Fitzsimmons, a lawyer for the victim, criticized Richmond for not alluding to the victim in his statement upon release. “One would expect to see the defendant publicly apologize for all the pain he caused rather than make statements about himself — rape is about victims, not defendants,” the attorney said. “Although everyone hopes convicted criminals are rehabilitated, it is disheartening that this convicted rapist’s press release does not make a single reference to the victim and her family – whom he and his co-defendant scarred for life.” The other teen convicted last March in the incident, Trent Mays, received a longer sentence due to a conviction he received for taking a naked pic of the underage victim. It’s appalling and sad someone gets 9 months for RAPE while others get years for traffic violations and lesser crimes.

This takes police brutality to a whole new level. Woman Had Arm Amputated Because Handcuffs Were Too Tight When someone loses an arm, it’s time for somebody’s azz to get fired. According to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: A Ross woman sued Allegheny County today, claiming that sheriff’s deputies injured her arm and the jail’s former medical provider ignored her complaints, resulting in amputation. Amy J. Needham, 35, of Ross, was arrested by county sheriffs on April 2, according to the complaint. Her attorney, Marvin Leibowitz, said she was the subject of a warrant because she missed a preliminary hearing on a charge that was ultimately reduced to a disorderly conduct. When sheriff’s office employees arrived, Ms. Needham said she was using the bathroom, but they broke down the bathroom door, according to the complaint. They shocked her with a Taser, applied arm bars and wrist locks, and put on handcuffs “that were too tight,” the complaint said. That treatment, according to the complaint, caused “compartment syndrome,” which is increased pressure in a muscle compartment that can damage both muscles and nerves. Over the course of around a week in jail, according to Mr. Leibowitz, Ms. Needham made 16 requests to see a doctor, but was denied. She was finally hospitalized at UPMC Mercy where her arm was amputated above the elbow, according to the complaint. “She feels that her life is ruined,” said Mr. Leibowitz, adding that his client is a mother of three children, ages 5 to 9, and previously worked at a restaurant. “I think she’s having psychological problems. You’re 35 years old and you lose your arm.” Mr. Leibowitz said Ms. Needham is off of work awaiting a prosthesis. They have sued Sheriff William Mullen, sheriff’s Lieut. John Kearney, sheriff’s Detective Jared Kulik, Allegheny County, and Allegheny Correctional Health Services, which ran the jail infirmary through August. The complaint alleges excessive force, cruel and unusual punishment, battery and negligence, and demands more than $75,000 in damages. Three decades and 500 magazine appearances later, the 52-year-old is still at it, and she looks amazing on the cover of Galore this month. Beautiful. Less beautiful? Her opinion of Kate Upton, whom she dissed as “a product of great media hype” and a “large size model.” Ouch. The claws are out! “Without Sports Illustrated, I’m not sure she would’ve made it in the industry as a high fashion model. Because she is more of a large size model,” Alt says. “And even if I’ve seen her in person, and I don’t think she’s in any way fat or overweight or anything. She is just more large-size than fashion models are.” “I think Kate is very good at hmmmm, how do I put it? She’s engaging. After ‘Ye threatened the paparazzi during his epic late night rant, strongly implying that he’ll keep using force if he deems it necessary, Gloria was fuming. Allred is representing photographer Danny Ramos, the paparazzo who has sued the rapper alleging assault, battery, negligence and violation of civil rights. Kanye claimed self-defense in that LAX airport altercation, but Allred isn’t buying it, and cites remarks by Kanye on Jimmy Kimmel as further proof of her point: “Mr. West made it clear that he thinks he has the right to attack anyone that antagonizes him by asking him a question he does not like. He thinks that paparazzi are fair game.” “In his televised appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show he sent a message that anyone that crosses him is not safe and that no one should forget that he is from Chicago.” “We have a message to you Mr. West in response. You will be held accountable for your actions both in the criminal justice system and in the civil justice system.” “Your remarks are shameful and add further insult to the injuries that you inflicted upon my client. You say that you bring ‘joy to the world’. I say you disgrace your profession.” Allred said that the volatile Kim Kardashian beau brings “shame to your hometown of Chicago when you make reference to being from Chicago as some sort of threat.” Ouch. Sounds like someone’s gearing up for a right. Unless he settles out of court beforehand, Kanye is scheduled to be arraigned on criminal battery charges November 7.
