SMH. These people ain’t isht ! Via KOMO News : The Sedro-Woolley woman accused in the death her adopted daughter was found guilty Monday afternoon of manslaughter and homicide by abuse. Carri Williams had long professed her innocence in the case, but a jury disagreed. Her husband Larry Williams was also convicted of manslaughter. The jury could not reach a verdict in the homicide-by-abuse charge against Larry Williams. The judge declared a mistrial on that count. Attorney Rachel Forde represented Larry Williams in the trial and said her client will appeal Monday’s verdict. “Oh, we’re disappointed. It was unjust,” she said. “Actually a tragedy because Mr. Williams did not cause Hana Williams’ death. There was no theory and insufficient evidence of manslaughter in the first degree.” The couple was accused of causing the death of Hana Williams in the backyard of the family home in May 2011. The girl died of hypothermia and malnutrition. Prosecutors say she was starved, beaten and forced outside as punishment. Prosecuting Attorney Rich Weyrich spoke about the horrors that Hana Williams lived with after arriving in America from Ethiopia. “She came to America, you know the American dream and all those sort of things, and you know it was more like ‘Nightmare on Elm Street,’” he said. Carri Williams denied any wrongdoing in the death and told a 911 operator she thought Hana killed herself. “She’s been throwing herself all around and then she collapsed,” she said. Carri Williams was defiant and emotional when she took the stand late last month. She admitted to the jury that Hana had lost weight prior to her death and said she believes the girl “unintentionally killed herself.” “I never treated my daughter like a dog,” Carri Williams said. Both Larry and Carri Williams could face life in prison when they’re sentenced. Defense attorneys say both will appeal the verdict. Andrea Sneiderman was led out of a DeKalb County (Ga.) Superior Court in handcuffs after being sentenced to five years in prison this week. Andrea Sneiderman Convicted of Perjury Her husband, Rusty Sneiderman, was gunned down and killed in the parking lot of a day care facility in 2010 after taking his son to class there. A jury found Sneiderman guilty Monday of nine of 13 felony counts, including perjury and making false statements to police during their investigation. Lawyers for Sneiderman talked Tuesday of seeking an appeal of the verdict and getting her before the parole board in as little as two months. “We believe we have multiple grounds for appeal,” said Doug Chalmers of his client’s prospects. “This is a fight Andrea Sneiderman is going to win.” Prosecutors alleged that Andrea Sneiderman had had an affair with her former boss at GE Energy, Hemy Neuman, who was convicted of fatally shooting Rusty Sneiderman. Andrea Sneiderman did not testify, but her testimony during Neuman’s trial played a role in her conviction. She testified in Neuman’s trial against the advice of many. “I was shocked when the prosecution began attacking me,” she said. “I fought back, and I tried to defend myself. I’m embarrassed when I watch the tape of my testimony.” Sneiderman and her supporters had asked the judge for leniency after the prosecution sought a prison sentence of 20 years. It was not to be. She got five years on each count, which are set to run concurrently. “No one’s ever gone to prison for perjury,” said J. Tom Morgan, one of Sneiderman’s attorneys. “It is even lower than the lowest level on the grid.” Sneiderman showed no emotion as she was being led out after a morning of testimony by her and others. She said her only regret was allowing Neuman into her life. “I never thought Mr. Neuman was capable of murder,” she lamented. “The line of appropriate conduct was blurred,” she acknowledged, while insisting there was never any sexual contact between the two. “I thought I could handle him. I thought he was a man just being a man.” The brother of Rusty Sneiderman said his sister-in-law deserves it. “She thinks she’s special, but she’s not,” Steve Sneiderman said. “She’s a common criminal. She lied to her family. She lied to her friends. She lied to Rusty.” “Without her lies and betrayal to her death, Rusty would still be here with his children,” he said. “A very special man is gone because of her actions.”

The murder case against former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez has shocked the country, but those who know him well say to reserve judgment. He was a fun-loving teenager at Bristol Central High School, where he followed in the footsteps of his older brother, D.J., a tight end at the University of Connecticut. Some recall him struggling with the death of his father, Dennis, in 2006, but staying determined to become a pro athlete, spending hours working out before and after school. As Bristol police assist Massachusetts investigators, arresting one local man as a fugitive from justice, the community is left to ponder the fall of the hometown hero. A former high school teammate, Andrew Ragali, 24, said the troubled street hood he has seen portrayed on TV is not the Aaron Hernandez he knew. “You could maybe say he was immature, but he wasn’t a gang-banger,” Ragali said. “Not at all. I think when he went to college things might have changed, hanging around with the wrong people, but in high school, he wasn’t like that at all .” Ragali recalled seeing Hernandez again, years after high school, at a Hartford bar. He described him as quieter, and with many more tattoos. But said he was still very nice, asked about his family and took pictures with his girlfriend. It was after his father’s death that Hernandez began smoking marijuana and hanging out with a rough crowd, Hernandez’s mother, Terri, told USA Today. “The shock of losing his dad, there was so much anger,” she said. Hernandez’s mother works in the office at the local South Side elementary school, and other family members still live in Bristol, a city now in shock. “All I can say is that he will be cleared of all these charges in the end,” she told the Bristol Press outside her home Wednesday. “Just let it play out until the end.” The 23-year-old Hernandez was arrested Wednesday at his mansion in North Attleborough, Mass., and accused of orchestrating the execution of his friend, Odin Lloyd. Alll allegedly because Lloyd had talked to the wrong people at a nightclub. He was denied bail at a hearing Thursday in a Massachusetts courtroom, where his lawyer argued his client is not a risk to flee and the case against him is circumstantial. Hernandez, who is being investigated for two more murders – this time stemming from a drive-by shooting in Boston – remains behind bars, however. On June 16, the night before the slaying, a prosecutor said, Hernandez texted two friends and asked them to hurry to Massachusetts from Connecticut. A few minutes later, he texted Lloyd to tell him he wanted to get together, the prosecutor said. Authorities said surveillance footage showed the friends arriving. They did not say who they believe fired the shots. Bristol police have been assisting investigators in Massachusetts and that Carlos Ortiz, 27, of Bristol, had been charged as a fugitive from justice. He is being held on $1.5 million bail in Hartford.

Montia Marie Parker, an 18-year old student at Hopkins High School in Minnesota, is facing felony charges for allegedly pimping out a 16-year girl with developmental issues. The cheerleader is accused of setting up a Backpage.com ad for the younger student; driving this girl to a man’s apartment for oral sex; and pocketing the $60 she made from the act. According to The Minnesota Star Tribune , the victim’s mother called the police after discovering disturbing text messages on her daughter’s phone.
