Chelsea Handler on Donald Trump as President: Blame the Kardashians!

Donald Trump is not exactly the most popular figure in Hollywood. But few celebrities have been as openly disdainful and distrusting of the President-Elect as Chelsea Handler. The comedian cried on air after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton on November 8. She then seriously considered moving to Spain, prior to staying put and deciding to use her talk show as a platform to talk about politics and the state of this country. Handler also plans to lead the Women’s March at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21. Just days away from Trump being inaugurated as President, Handler spoke to Variety from her home in New York City, responding to a question about the real estate mogul’s victory with a surprising answer. Does she blame a poorly-run Clinton campaign for the stunning Trump win? Frustrated white workers in states such as Florida and Michigan? Trump’s message on jobs? Nope, nope and nope.  Handler blames Kim Kardashian. And Khloe Kardashian. And Kourtney Kardashian. And probably Kylie Jenner , too. After blaming the media for treating Trump like an “entertainer” instead of a politician, Handler explained her viewpoint thusly: “We’ve turned into a reality show. I blame the Kardashians, personally; the beginning of the end was the Kardashians. The way these people have blown up and don’t go away – it’s surreal.” There’s certainly something to be said for the Kardashians representing a new age of social media and celebrity, one in which one can basically “do” nothing and still be rich and famous. But Trump did a lot during his campaign for the Presidency. He didn’t just pose for racy Instagram photos… thank goodness. “Everyone is for sale. We’re looking at a man that gets mad at Vanity Fair for reviewing his restaurant poorly,” Handler expounded to Vanity Fair, adding: “By the way, have you ever been to that restaurant? It’s the biggest piece of garbage you’ve ever walked into. That place looks like a Southwest airport lounge. It’s the worst.” In all seriousness, though, Handler is concerned about the future of our country. “The idea that so many people were so wrong about the outcome is so screwed up,” Chelsea says . “The fact that Russia is interfering with our election is beyond repair. How do we ever recover from that? What’s to prevent them from doing it for the rest of our lives?” Elsewhere in the interview, Handler refers to Trump as a “sociopath,” says Kanye West “needs to get on his meds” and says of her role as a celebrity: “[It’s] to reach across and figure out the people who are so disenchanted that they voted for him, and try to find some common ground.” Sounds like a tall order. And it may say something about the state of… well… everything that we’re partially turning to Chelsea Handler to help fill it. Keep fighting the good fight, though, Chelsea. We’re on your side.

Hillary Clinton: Activists Urge Candidate to Challenge Election Results in Three Swing States

On Wednesday, November 9, shortly after 11:50 am, Hillary Clinton uttered the words that tens of millions of Americans never thought they would hear: “Donald Trump is going to be our president,” Clinton told a crowd of supporters who had gathered in New York, many certain they would be celebrating an historic victory. “We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.” It was a gracious acceptance of a crushing defeat, and it seemed the speech was likely to serve as the conclusion of Clinton’s decades-long, glass-ceiling-shattering political career. Now, however, a group of election lawyers and prominent computer scientists are insisting that in light of new findings about the integrity of the 2016 election, Clinton owes it to the American people to contest Trump’s victory. According to New York magazine, the group – led by voting-rights attorney John Bonifaz and J. Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society – revealed this week that they’ve uncovered persuasive evidence that the election results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania may have been hacked . All three states went for Trump in 2016 after being won by President Obama in 2012. If they had gone blue again this year, it’s Clinton, not Trump, who would have secured the necessary 270 electoral votes to win the election. At this point, the group is not publicly speaking on its findings, and is instead focusing on privately lobbying the Clinton campaign to take action. Sources say on Thursday of last week, activists held a conference call with Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and campaign general counsel Marc Elias. The group reportedly presented findings indicating that in Wisconsin, Clinton received 7 percent fewer votes in counties that relied on electronic voting than in counties with paper ballots. Based on those numbers, analysts believe she may have been denied upwards of 30,000 votes in that state. She lost Wisconsin by just 27,000 votes. Despite Clinton’s concession, there’s still ample reason to call Trump’s victory into question. In addition to the fact that he lost the popular vote by more 1.7 million ballots (with several million more votes left to be counted, most in Democratic strongholds like California and New York), Trump may find himself coping with an Electoral College revolt led by “faithless electors” hoping to leave the decision of who will be our next president in the hands of the GOP-led House of Representatives. View Slideshow: Donald Trump Wins Presidency, Twitter Reacts The new information possibly indicating widespread election fraud may represent Clinton’s last, best chance at delegitimizing Trump’s victory. Unfortunately, her campaign is running out of time in which to contest the results. The deadline in Wisconsin to file for a recount is Friday; in Pennsylvania, it’s Monday; and Michigan is next Wednesday.

Bradley Martyn’s Fitness Mannequin Challenge of the Day

His name is Bradley Martyn, I have never heard of him, but he’s got over 2 million fans on Facebook, works in the fitness space, is some kind of social media personality, and would be someone that Hilary Duff, who fucks her trainer, would make into her boyfriend if he wasn’t so relevant, because it’s harder to control people when they are out there surrounded by money and pussy and fans… The Mannequin Challenge, something that we can assume was inspired by the Clinton Campaign, is taking over social media, where people “FREEZE”….you know elementary school tricks that you used to do when your creepy teacher touched you inappropriately, maybe that’s just me… Most of these challenges are just dumb, but this one impressed me, mainly because of the tits, the flexbile chick, and the fitness tits… VIA FACEBOOK Other mannequin challenges include: Boozy Ivanka Trump… A video posted by Ivanka Trump (@ivankatrump) on Nov 14, 2016 at 7:11am PST And Russian Chicks A video posted by Sofia (@sofia_official_) on Nov 14, 2016 at 3:41am PST The post Bradley Martyn’s Fitness Mannequin Challenge of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Saturday Night Live Blows Viewers Away with Cold Open

There are many questions American citizens now have with Donald Trump having been elected the 45th President of their country. Will he deport law-abiding immigrants? Will he build a wall? Will he ban Muslims from the country? Will he last a full term in office ? And also this: How would Saturday Night Live react to his election? The last question was answered this weekend… in truly memorable fashion. The NBC sketch series opened last night with Kate McKinnon dressed as Hillary Clinton. But there were no witty lines of dialogue. There were no tears being cried. There was no interaction with Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump Instead, McKinnon simply say at a piano and sang the song “Hallelujah.” This was especially poignant because Leonard Cohen died this week, leaving this world as the man responsible for having written that iconic ballad. At the end of her rendition, McKinnon turned to the camera, and as Clinton, told viewers “I’m not giving up, and neither should you.” It was an amazing decision by Saturday Night Live. Some people are comparing McKinnon’s version here to when Paul Simon sang “The Boxer” on SNL’s first episode after 9/11 Watch the performance for yourself. Saturday Night Live Cold Open Why did “Hallelujah” feel like the perfect track for the moment? Check out the lyrics below and perhaps you’ll understand: Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord/That David played, and it pleased the Lord/But you don’t really care for music, do you? It goes like this/The fourth, the fifth/The minor fall, the major lift/ The baffled king composing Hallelujah. Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah. Your faith was strong but you needed proof/You saw her bathing on the roof/Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her/She tied you/To a kitchen chair/She broke your throne, and she cut your hair. And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah. Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah. You say I took the name in vain/I don’t even know the name/But if I did, well really, what’s it to you? There’s a blaze of light/In every word/It doesn’t matter which you heard/ The holy or the broken Hallelujah Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah/Hallelujah. I did my best, it wasn’t much/I couldn’t feel, so I tried to touch/I’ve told the truth, I didn’t come to fool you/And even though/ It all went wrong/ I’ll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah.

Stephen Colbert Reacts in Real Time to Donald Trump as President

On Tuesday night, America elected Donald Trump as the 45h President of the United States. Also on Tuesday night, Showtime aired  Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going To Clean Up This Sh*t? It was meant to be a comedy special. It was meant to be a coronation of Hillary Clinton. However, just like approximately half the people in the country, Colbert grew more and more stunned as the results rolled in and a Trump Presidency became more and more likely. Unlike approximately half the people in the country, however, Colbert was actually live on air while this development was taking place. At one point, upon learning just how close Trump was to 270 electoral college votes, he seemed to be at a loss for words. “I can’t put a happy face on that,” he replied. “And that’s my job.” When it was time to sign off for the evening, the outcome had not yet been made official, but it was very clear where things were headed. Colbert had to think of something to leave viewers with as an unthinkable nightmare inched ever closer to becoming a reality. “I think we can agree that this has been an absolutely exhausting, bruising election for everyone,” Colbert said to open his closing monologue, trying for a bit of levity. “And it has come to an ending I did not imagine. We all now feel the way Rudy Giuliani looks.” From there, though, the comedian turned serious and thoughtful. The Late Late Show speculated that the world is “going to be saying, ‘Has America lost its mind?’ And the answer is evidently, ‘Back off, buddy. We’ve got 300 million guns and we’re kind of stressed right now.’ ” Colbert then showed a couple of graphics that depicted a divided nation. They featured the results of polls about how neither side trusts the other. “How did our politics get so poisonous? I think it’s because we overdosed, especially this year. We drank too much of the poison. You take a little bit of it so you can hate the other side and it tastes kind of good and you like how it feels. “And there’s a gentle high to the condemnation.” Colbert nearly broke down upon talking about his mother, who was born two days before women got the right to vote and who wanted to vote for Clinton before she died. View Slideshow: Donald Trump Wins Presidency, Twitter Reacts He went on to deliver a few jokes about things we can all agree on (i.e. Kit Kat bars should be eaten in segments) before concluding as follows: “Above all, we, as a nation, should never, ever have another election like this one. Do you agree? Now, please. Get out there. Kiss a Democrat. Go hug a Republican. Give a libertarian a [sex act]… “The election is over. You survived. Good night and may God Bless America.” On a night with an unprecedented election result, Stephen Colbert gave us something close to an unprecedented television special. Not that he wanted to.
