We spotted the songstress walking the red carpet at the REVOLT Music Conference ahead of the Closing Gala that honored Queen Latifah. Before the big show, we chatted with Justine about her fellow Black Girl Magic maker whose iconic status was being celebrated and the importance of highlighting melanin. “I think it’s very important to have the [Black Girl Magic] conversation because every black girl has had a point in their life where someone made them feel less than,” Skye told BOSSIP. “I went to [elementary] school in Brooklyn and they would make fun of me, at a black school for being darker than them.
