Pauly D Says Britney Spears Album Is ‘Amazing’

‘This is gonna be one of her greatest albums,’ ‘Jersey Shore’ star raves. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: Bobby Bank/ WireImage Perez Hilton loves Britney Spears’ new single, “Hold It Against Me,” and now it seems that she’s getting some love from “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D. Pauly got to hear some of Brit’s new tunes because he and the pop star have the same management team. “Her album is amazing — like, I can’t even believe it,” he told Billboard.com about the March release. “I will be playing her tracks in the club, they’re so good. I think this is gonna be one of her greatest albums. … Britney’s awesome. We have the same management, and that’s how we meet a lot.” Brit’s “Hold It Against Me,” set to drop Tuesday , is certainly a club banger, and Pauly believes that these days, with so much pop going dance , the singer is right on the cutting edge. “Everyone’s steering towards dance and everything like that, and she’s right there,” he explained. “That’s how I judge good music, is where I’m gonna play it. Like, ‘alright, I’ll play that in the car or I can play that in the club.’ You can definitely play her stuff in the club.” So is it all dance, or is Brit also slowing things down a bit? “She has some tracks you can play in the car, too,” Pauly said, so we’ll take that as a yes. Pauly’s not the only one who’s heard some other new Britney tracks. Ryan Seacrest revealed that he’s heard another song, “I I I Wanna Go,” describing it as a “powerhouse single.” As for “Hold It Against Me,” Seacrest raved about the song’s final cut. “WOW. The demo doesn’t even compare!” he teased. Related Photos The Evolution Of: Britney Spears Related Artists Britney Spears

Usher, Ke$ha And More Help Dance Music Go Pop In 2010

But is it here to stay? Our music-industry experts weigh in. By Akshay Bhansali David Guetta Photo: Raymond Boyd/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images In 2010, pop princesses, R&B icons and chart-dominating newcomers all danced to the same beat. Not only did dance music go pop, but pop music caught the club-music bug. Between Katy Perry’s “Firework,” Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R,” Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World),” Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It,” Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” and “OMG” and countless other singles, established artists definitely looked to dance beats for surefire hits. And two of this year’s biggest success stories in music were Jason Der

Dr. Dre’s ‘Kush’ Premieres, And The Party Can Finally Begin

Video featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon shows revelers frozen in time until the Doctor arrives. By Jayson Rodriguez Dr. Dre Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Detox is on the way. And as the latest proof that Dr. Dre ‘s long-awaited album will see the light of day soon, he premiered the video to the first single, “Kush,” co-starring Snoop Dogg and Akon , on Friday (December 10). The video, directed by Joseph Kahn (Eminem, Britney Spears), begins as Dre is seated in a sleek, black Lamborghini, attempting to flick a lighter. Once the Left Coast maestro gets the light on, the beat drops, and he exits the car. Dre approaches the club in a setting similar to “The Next Episode,” one of his past hits. But the festivities around him are ice cold; the club patrons are statue-like, frozen in the parking lot and inside, in mid groove. The good doctor’s last project was 1999’s 2001, and perhaps things haven’t been quite the same without him, the video suggests. Snoop Dogg kicks things off on the second verse, and the lanky L.A. rhyme spitter is surrounded by a bevy of beautiful, frozen women. They’re smiling, drinks are pouring, but they’re also statues compared to the rapper. As Dre makes his way into the club and to the bar, however, the party livens up. Dre pulls out his lighter, engraved with the song’s title, and holds it to the sprinklers overhead and sets them off. As water rains down on the partygoers, they come back to life, gyrating to the thumping track’s production. Later, Dre and Snoop leave the club, and Dre drives off into the night on an empty highway, surrounded by the streaking lights of cars that are no longer there. Recently, Eminem told his satellite radio station, Shade 45, that he and Dre have been in the studio wrapping up Detox. “Kush” and “I Need A Doctor,” featuring Eminem , leaked back to back in November. Eminem On His Concerts With Jay-Z: ‘Both Cities Were Crazy’

‘I think I just wanna go home. My feet hurt,’ Em said when asked if he would continue to tour. By Shaheem Reid Eminem performs in Detroit Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Thank you, and good night. Eminem and Jay-Z closed out the last of their four shows dubbed Home and Home. The two goliaths started at the beginning of the month at Detroit’s Comerica Park , and on Monday and Tuesday nights, they rocked Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Right before returning to the stage Tuesday night to perform “Renegade” with Young Hova, Eminem, his DJ Alchemist, and D12’s Mr. Porter stopped to speak with Shade 45 ‘s Angela Yee. When asked to reflect on his stadium trek, Em simply said, “Both cities were crazy. I had a lot of fun.” Mr. Mathers was more interested in talking about his skills on the court. He went on to brag about shooting J’s in the eyes of Royce Da 5’9″ and Alchemist. Em also appeared on Sunday’s season finale of “Entourage.” In his scenes, Shady set it off in the club, with a right cross to the face of the series’ lead character, Vince Chase. Chase, high off cocaine, called Em out in the club and was punished. “It was great to be on ‘Entourage,’ ” Em told Yee. “I love the show. I’m a huge fan of it.” When asked if he’ll get back into headlining in films like he did with “8 Mile,” he says if the project is right, he’ll jump at the chance. “We just haven’t got the right script yet,” he said. “We’ve had a couple of things here and there, but nothing’s jumped out. It’s gotta be something that makes me wanna stop doing the music. It’s gotta be good enough to make me wanna stop doing that. I love it so much.” Em downplayed the Home and Home series being the spark for a proper tour. “I don’t know, man. I think I just wanna go home. My feet hurt,” he laughed. According to 50 Cent, Em has been back in the lab. Earlier this week, Fif tweeted that Em is reconnecting with the G-Unit. “Banks got a really heavy album. Hunger for More 2 is gonna be classic! Me Em, Kanye, on it. The 23rd is gonna be big,” 50 wrote . Do you want Eminem to tour across the country? Let us know in the comments! Eminem’s ‘Lie’ Video Shoot Was Like An Acting Workshop, Director Says

Joseph Kahn says Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan didn’t have an easy job on ‘Love the Way You Lie’ set. By James Montgomery Joseph Kahn Photo: MTV News Given that he’s one of the biggest names in music videos and his latest project featured both Eminem and Rihanna, Joseph Kahn should have had no problem casting the two leads for the “Love the Way You Lie” video . And yet, he considers himself “incredibly lucky” to have landed both Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox for the clip. “Megan is one of those choices, like, whenever you write a music video, you go, ‘I want a girl like Megan Fox,’ ” Kahn told MTV News. “I guarantee, like, 95 percent of music videos, they write, ‘I would like a girl like Megan Fox.'” Kahn said Fox is so popular, he didn’t initially consider her participation a possibility. “We were actually looking around for some other actresses, and then, midway through, I just thought, ‘Why don’t I just try this?’ ” he said. “I mean, I have the biggest artist in the world, with the hottest song on the planet, with the hottest female artist … and it’s a meaty role. It’s not like you’re just slipping in there and looking pretty.” Fortunately for Kahn, Fox is an Eminem fan, and she loved the song and the role. “So, she said ‘yes,’ ” he said. “I was blown away.” On the other hand, the director said he considered courting Monaghan right away. “I wanted him because he’s an actor who can bury himself [in his roles],” Kahn said. “You can do anything with him, and essentially, he’s a villain through all of [the video], and I think he did a great job.” So, with two big-name actors on set, and only two days to shoot the entire video, Kahn had his work cut out for him. Monaghan and Fox were going to need to channel conflicting emotions — anger one second, passion the next — and do it quickly. As the director, it was up to Kahn to help them harness all of that — often at a moment’s notice. Luckily for him, he had two of the best to work with. “I just told them: This is not like a normal film. We have two days on set, and we have to think of it as an acting workshop, because you’re going to have to ramp up into emotions in two seconds, you’re not going to know what the story is, and you’re going to have to trust one another,” he explained. “I’m asking them to go from zero to 100 in two seconds, so they were using all their techniques as actors. Dom would be calling her names, she’d be calling him names … to see them turn it on like that, it was really a fascinating acting study.” Related Artists Eminem Rihanna
