Skye McCole Bartusiak, an actress best known for her role in 2000’s The Patriot, was found dead at her home in Houston yesterday. The young star was 21 years old. Bartusiak was only seven when she played Mel Gibson’s daughter in the aforementioned drama. She also portrayed the child of Michael Douglas’ character in 2001’s Don’t Say a Word. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but Bartusiak’s mother (Helen McCole Bartusiak) told CNN that her daughter had been suffering from epileptic seizures of late. Magic Johnson is taking the high road when it comes to Donald Sterling. In his interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN last night, Sterling did apologize for his recent racist rant, which was directed at girlfriend V. Stiviano and released as an audio recording a few weeks ago. But the 80-year old Clippers owner also went off on Magic for some reason, blasting the NBA legend for having AIDS and for doing nothing to help the African-American community. His words really needs to be heard to be believed: Donald Sterling Slams Magic Johnson In response, Johnson called in to TMZ this afternoon, denied talk that he’s trying to purchase the Clippers and said: “I’m a proud black man. I’m a leader in the black community and I take that role seriously.” Magic, of course, has famously moved movie theaters, Starbucks and other franchises into inner cities area, greatly boosting their economies and providing many new jobs for residents. Despite insisting that he isn’t racist and has no problem with Magic Johnson, he spent a good chunk of his interview going in on Magic , his disease, and Black people’s inferiority to Jews when it comes to giving back to their communities. You really have to see this one for yourself to believe the reckless words falling out of his mouth. Via CNN : While saying he admires Johnson and that his role in the scandal is “irrelevant,” Sterling questioned Johnson’s character in the CNN interview. “Well, what kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV? Is that someone we want to respect and tell our kids about?” Sterling asked. “I think he should be ashamed of himself. I think he should go into the background. But what does he do for the black people? He doesn’t do anything…” Sterling had choice words for Johnson, telling Cooper he thinks Johnson wanted him to not respond to the media firestorm that erupted after the recordings surfaced so Johnson, who is a part of the ownership groups of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the WNBA team Los Angeles Sparks, could buy the Clippers. “He thought the whole thing will be resolved in two weeks,” Sterling said. “What has he done? Can you tell me? Big Magic Johnson, what has he done?” Sterling said Jewish people spend great amounts of money helping other Jews who are poor while rich black people turn their backs to people in need. “That’s one problem I have. Jews when they get successful they will help their people and some of the African-Americans — maybe I’ll get in trouble again — they don’t want to help anybody,” he said. Grandfather Calls 911 On Grandson For Being Lazy Even though his grandson was lazy it’s pretty inconsiderate to call 911 for something so petty when there are people with real emergencies. According to The Smoking Gun: A 72-year-old Ohio man called 911 to report that his teenage grandson was a layabout who refused to do household chores and spent his day playing on his computer, according to a police report. Edward Friel told Lorain County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he has custody of his 17-year-old grandson Justin, whom he said was “lazy and does nothing around the house.” The elder Friel summoned police to his South Amherst home Saturday morning after asking Justin to “do some work around the house.” When the teen “continued to play on the computer,” Friel “cut the internet cable cord since he was not listening to him,” investigators reported. The teenager became incensed and punched a hole in a kitchen wall before leaving the home and walking into nearby woods. “Mr. Friel stated Justin did not threaten him but is tired of him being lazy.” No charges were filed in connection with the damage to the wall (or the boy’s laziness). According to The Washington Post: Lupita is coming, Lupita is coming! As Washington prepares to take a weekend-long back seat to the celebrity guests now at the center of the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, the VIP rolls are rolling in. The biggest get? Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, who People magazine named “the most beautiful” person of 2014, will be basking in all her “it girl” glory at the Time table. The Huffington Post will host Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman. No doubt funnyman Kevin Hart, a guest of NBC Universal, will be critiquing comedian Joel McHale’s performance. We’re not sure if Thomson Reuters invitee Darren Criss will be singing for his supper, but the “Glee” star has had plenty of practice. CBS and ABC will be trotting out some of their networks’ biggest stars, with Julianna Margulies of CBS’s The Good Wife” and Tony Goldwyn of ABC’s “Scandal” expected to attend. No word on who Vanity Fair or CNN will extend a golden ticket to, but so far it looks like reality stars and game show second runner ups shouldn’t wait for the mailman. Just earlier today we declared the singer the queen of the photo-sharing site thanks to Selena’s hot selfies that seem to never end. Hours later, however, Selena de-friended everyone she was following and posted a photo of some cryptic Mary J. Blige lyrics. You won’t believe this, but a Dallas man who sent a resume, job application, and photograph of his penis to a Texas company did not get the position. He is, however, in a precarious legal position as a result. He faces a misdemeanor charge for his trouble, as the recipients were apparently unamused. The man was hilariously applying for a position at Texas Workforce Solutions, a company devoted to, of all things, preparing clients for the workplace. When a 25-year-old employee of the organization received the guy’s application and unique letter of recommendation (so to speak), she promptly called police. They tracked his application, which had been sent from a personal email and issued the man a ticket for “obscene display or distribution,” a class C misdemeanor. A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department confirmed this actually happened , and said that as far as he can tell, the man is still unemployed. “I think I know why he can’t find a job,” he reportedly told the Dallas Observer . Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments drew the ire of many last year, but son Willie Robertson is quick to defend his father. Willie and his wife, Korie, sat down with CNN last week to talk about the controversial statements Phil Robertson made to GQ about modern immorality. Willie and Korie Robertson CNN Interview The 67-year-old Duck Commander founder had pondered in the magazine’s January issue how “a man’s anus” could be more desirable than a vagina. He also likened gay sex to a sin comparable to bestiality and paraphrased 1 Corinthians, which lists those who will not inherit the kingdom of God. “I believe what the Bible says,” Willie Robertson said. “That’s what he says to put those in.
