I don’t respect him and I don’t want to be involved with him.” [ madamenoire ] O-Dog AKA Larenz Tate Joins Cast Of Starz Series Power Veteran actor Larenz Tate, who exploded on the scene in his now-infamous role as violent gangster O-Dog in Menace II Society, has joined the cast of the Starz hit drama, Power. Tate will not be brandishing braids and pistols in this role, this time playing an elected official on the series. Deadline reports: Tate will play Councilman Rashad Tate, a city councilman from Jamaica Queens. Power follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a drug kingpin living a double life who in season 4 seeks to find redemption. Power returns for its fourth season this summer. Courtney A. Pregnant Beyoncé Will Still Perform At Coachella With Special Surprise Guests Previously we reported that Beyoncé’s recent pregnancy announcement posed a serious threat to her performance at Coachella this year. Despite the #BeyHive’s excitement that she was pregnant the thought of not seeing her take the stage was undoubtedly a disappointment to the fans and festival’s producers. That said, Beyoncé wouldn’t be Beyoncé if she wasn’t prepared to handle her business and make lemons out of lemonade. Let TMZ tell it, Bey has every intention of not only performing, but bringing some very, very, VERY special guests with her to help bolster her show. It’s said that one of the mystery guests is a Roc Nation artist (Rihanna? J. Cole??) and the other is from a different record label. Both have known for quite some time that Bey was knocked up and have been preparing for Coachella for several months now. No details on HOW Mrs. Carter will perform being that she will be so far along in her pregnancy, but in her world, 2 babies don’t stop no show. Beyonce To Perform At 2017 Grammy Awards Looks like Beyonce will be putting those twinsies to work next weekend. With speculation swirling on if Our Lady of Lemonade will be honoring her Coachella booking with a full womb in a few months…according to E!News , Bey is hopping her pregnant self on a stage for a live performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards. It’s a GREAT look for the broadcast, seeing as how a lot of big names have decided to skip out on the ceremony this year…potentially taking millions in viewer numbers with them. But this Bey announcement has likely saved the day. Most folks are going to want to see what the diva does on the stage while heavy with children. Azealia Banks has never really delivered on her early promise as a hitmaker. (In fact, she has has yet to attain “one hit wonder” status.) Take, for example, the video she posted last month, in which she revealed that she’s a witch who sacrifices chickens in the closer of her New York City apartment. We don’t think anyone was that coming. And then there are Ms. Banks’ political views . During the election, the rapper’s followers were shocked to learn that Azealia is a Trump supporter. It’s surprising in the sense that she’s expressed liberal views in the past, but so much when you consider the fact that Azealia is an angry racist . Then it makes perfect sense. Anyway, Banks is pissed – pissed! – that Trump’s inauguration is being headlines by 3 Doors Down and some woman who came in second on America’s Got Talent, and she would like to personally make the entire country say “Who?” by taking the stage herself: “Saw the entertainment line for the inauguration it made me very upset. This is an EPIC moment in modern history and it should def be celebrated in style'” Banks wrote on Facebook yesterday. “I would love to perform at the inauguration.” Most of Azealia’s fans reacted with confusion (the guy who commented, “The devil is in this post” seemed to just about sum up the consensus), but Banks has at least one fellow Z-list Trumpeter in her corner. Noted professional troll Milo Yiannopoulis commented that Banks is his “first, second and only choice” to perform at the inauguration. Phillip Anschutz’s Hater Politics A Reason To Pass On Coachella Passes Over the past few days social media has been abuzz over the 2017 Coachella lineup, which includes Beyonce , Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, Future, Travis Scott, Schoolboy Q and Gucci Mane as some of the acts performing… Social media is now on fire for another reason entirely, as many festival lovers are learning that the man who owns AEG (owners of Coachella operators Goldenvoice) has some pretty bad politics — including donating HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS to an anti-gay hate group . Afro-Punk reveals : Philip Anschutz is the billionaire machine behind Coachella and his politics are icky, sticky with the slime of the swamp that folks like president-elect Trump loves to associate with. Anschutz owns AEG, the entertainment and sports company only second to Live Nation in its reach, with investments in the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Kings and the Staples Center to name a few. But really where his money is doing the most damage is in his support of socially conservative causes. ProgressNow Colorado’s executive director Ian Silverii was quoted saying, “Phil Anschutz’s extensive influence in Colorado politics has been known for years, but the degree of his support for anti-LGBTQ groups that fund extremist hate groups like Gordon Kligenschmitt’s ‘Pray in Jesus Name’ is shocking.” In even more covert efforts, the Anschutz Foundation gave $110,000 to Alliance Defending Freedom, $50,000 to National Christian Foundation, and $30,000 to Family Research Council between 2010 and 2013, all of which have been known to support prejudice against LGBTQ efforts.Since 2008, the Anschutz Foundation has donated $175,000 to the Mission America Foundation, a far-right organization whose president considers homosexuality to be a “deviance.” Anschutz’ Walden Media group funds films that support his political views as well, funding “Won’t Back Down” and “Waiting For Superman” which are pro-charter school and anti-teachers union. To add insult to injury, Greenpeace notes that media companies owned by Anschutz figure prominently in the denial of climate science and the promotion of climate-change skepticism and even went as far as suing a small town for their regulations on fracking, but eventually lost the case. According to Jezebel : Mission America Coalition—has been classified as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for its promotion of travel restrictions for HIV-positive citizens, among other radically right-wing views. Anschutz was also a major backer of Colorado’s Prop 2, which passed and would have broadly legalized discrimination against LGBTQ people before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional.
