Britney Spears Presents, Dishes on Candie’s Line

The incomparable Britney Spears dished a little bit on her newest offerings for her Candie’s clothing line, available only at Kohl’s, in an interview with InStyle . After spending three years as the face of Candie’s , Britney Spears has stepped into a new role: designer. She’s co-created her own line, Britney For Candie’s. “I love the black trench coat,” Britney said. “You can wear it over your outfit or as a dress. There’s also an amazing studded skirt that’s perfect for going out.” “I wanted to make the clothes cool and edgy yet girly,” she added . “I also love jeans, so I had to make sure there were some great pairs in the collection.” Britney Spears is all smiles (for once) at a Candie’s photo shoot . Of the design process, she says she met with the designers first, and “we sketched the items together. I loved it when I saw the samples for the first time.” The pop icon also said that because her “personal style is mix of comfortable and flirty, I love cute little dresses but I also love comfy sweaters and jeans.” You know there are no bras in the collection. Just saying. It’s great to see our girl taking on a bigger role in the clothing line that bears her name. Drake Opens Up About Rihanna: ‘I Was A Pawn’

He also talks about other women who influenced his music in an upcoming New York Times profile. By Jayson Rodriguez Drake Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images A profile of Drake is set to run in Sunday’s New York Times. In the story, the rapper opens up about his childhood, the making of his breakout mixtape So Far Gone and his fling with Rihanna . “I was a pawn,” Drake told the newspaper about his time with Rihanna, which began with an invite to pen a track for the singer . “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear. I was like, ‘Wow, this feels terrible.’ ” Drake channeled the experience into song, penning a verse on “Fireworks” dedicated to Rihanna, though he never mentions her by name. “I could tell it wasn’t love/ I just thought you’d f—ed with me/ Who could have predicted/ Lucky Strike would have you stuck with me,” Drake raps on the song, referring to the Manhattan bowling alley where the two reportedly made out. “Damn, I kept my wits about me, luckily/ What happened between us that night, it always seems to trouble me/ Now all of a sudden, these gossip rags want to cover me/ And you making it seem like it happened that way because of me.” Later in the story, Drake talks about the moody and melodic tracks that populate So Far Gone. The songs were inspired by a breakup with a woman he was dating who was involved with a far more famous rapper before Drake. His music was so intertwined with his relationship, he tried to push off material on Trey Songz. “I don’t even know if I wrote a rap song in that whole nine months,” Drake said. “Because I wasn’t a rapper anymore. I didn’t believe in myself. I was someone else’s property.” The rapper eventually rebounded, and his next pursuit served as the driving force behind his breakout hit “Best I Ever Had.” “A lot of So Far Gone was predictions,” he said of the collection. “I was rapping about things I’m only going through now.” What do you think about Drake’s thoughts on Rihanna? Census workers can enter your apartment in your absence

Census workers can enter your apartment in your absence 6:00 am May 26, 2010, by Bob Barr Thousands of census workers, including many temporary employees, are fanning out across America to gather information on the citizenry. This is a process that takes place not only every decade in order to complete the constitutionally-mandated census; but also as part of the continuing “American Community Survey” conducted by the Census Bureau on a regular basis year in and year out. What many Americans don’t realize, is that census workers — from the head of the Bureau and the Secretary of Commerce (its parent agency) down to the lowliest and newest Census employee — are empowered under federal law to actually demand access to any apartment or any other type of home or room that is rented out, in order to count persons in the abode and for “the collection of statistics.” If the landlord of such apartment or other leased premises refuses to grant the government worker access to your living quarters, whether you are present or not, the landlord can be fined $500.00. That’s right — not only can citizens be fined if they fail to answer the increasingly intrusive questions asked of them by the federal government under the guise of simply counting the number of people in the country; but a landlord must give them access to your apartment whether you’re there or not, in order to gather whatever “statistics” the law permits. In fact, some census workers apparently are going even further and demanding — and receiving — private cell phone numbers from landlords in order to call tenants and obtain information from them. Isn’t it great to live in a “free” country? http://blogs.ajc.com/bob-barr-blog/2010/05/26/census-workers-can-enter-your-apar… ***DOES ANYONE ELSE FIND THIS DISTURBING?!*** added by: curtisreed

Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift Show Feminine Finest At Met Costume Institute Gala

Katy Perry lights up the carpet, while Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Richie bring back ’70s glam. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart at the Met costume gala Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Hollywood’s and New York’s brightest stars lit up the red carpet at the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala held in New York City on Monday night. In a sea of sparkling nudes and flowing black gowns, a few celebs broke the mold in bright pops of color. But as they celebrated the “American Women: Fashioning a National Identity” exhibit, most were displaying their haute couture finest. Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift And More At Costume Institute Gala Kristen Stewart hit the carpet in a black Chanel taffeta gown that was very feminine for the “Twilight” star — and its sheer, beaded skirt was certainly eye-catching. Taylor Swift was all flowy romance in a long, white, vintage-inspired Ralph Lauren dress. Nicole Richie embraced ’70s disco glam in her floor-length silver Marc Jacobs gown, complete with silver sparkles and black velvet belt. Equally disco-chic was Sarah Jessica Parker in a shimmery, nude-colored pleated gown by Halston. She went a little Carrie Bradshaw with her big, matching hair-bow. Jennifer Lopez’s structured, silver Zuhair Murad Haute Couture gown had intense detailing from the bodice, down through the skirt. But Katy Perry had the most unique detailing of all: LED lights sewn into her pastel-pink dress. Among the other stars who dazzled at the event was Jessica Biel, who kept it sophisticated in her champagne-colored Ralph Lauren Collection silk charmeuse gown (and Justin Timberlake as her best accessory). Gwen Stefani hit the carpet with hubby Gavin Rossdale in a lam
