He said that if I didn’t take them out then he couldn’t schedule me for shifts until I did.” Tompkins, who has only been working at the clothing store for a month, added: “I have never been so humiliated and degraded in my life by a white person.” She also tried to explain to her boss about protective styling, but it seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. “Box braids are not a matter of unprofessionalism, they are protective styles black women have used for their hair and to be discriminated against because of it is truly disgusting and unacceptable,” she wrote. “There’s no reason why a white person should feel allowed to tell me that I can’t wear my hair the way that I want bc it’s too black for their store image. #boycottbanana Banana Republic.” READ ALSO:  Meet The Woman Suing Her Job For Firing Her Over Menstrual Leaks A spokesperson from Banana Republic stated that “as a company, we have zero tolerance for discrimination. We take this matter very seriously and we are actively conducting an investigation. We are committed to upholding an inclusive environment where our customers and our employees feel respected.” As the New York Daily News  points out, despite the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission considering  treating someone differently based on hair texture race  discrimination, many judges have not ruled in favor of plaintiffs suing employers for that kind of discrimination. Just last year we reported that an appeals court ruled that banning employees from wearing their hair in dreadlocks is not a form of racial discrimination. The lawsuit was brought to the court of appeals by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which charged that an Alabama insurance claims processing company had discriminated against Chastity Jones in 2010. They offered her employment [but stated] that she needed to get rid of her dreadlocks because of their grooming standards. When Jones refused, the company withdrew its offer of employment. Why can’t the world just let Black women and our hair be great? Kailyn Lowry Gives Birth to Baby #3!!!!!!

The self-described “longest pregnancy of the year” has come to an end for Kailyn Lowry. Because this Teen Mom 2 star has finally given birth to her third child! In exciting news broken by Radar Online, Lowry has delivered one of The Hollywood Gossip’s most anticipated children in several months. Adding to her controversial family early Saturday morning, the reality star welcomed a baby boy at 3 a.m. on August 5. He weighed seven pounds and 15 ounces at the time he became an official human being. We do not yet know the bundle of joy’s length nor, more importantly, do we know his name. Lowry had teased both the gender and the name of her impending child for most of the spring and summer. At one point Kailyn tweeted that she was considering ” Griffin, Nixon, Ripken [or] Silas ” if the baby proved to be a boy. So it may very well be one of those monikers. As recently as six days ago, meanwhile, Lowry expressed irritation at still being pregnant, writing on social media: “I’m convinced I’m never having the baby and it’s all a dream. I feel no progress here lol.” But shortly after the Internet blew up with confirmation that she did, indeed, have the baby, Kailyn chimed in herself via Twitter. “Mother of boys,” she simply wrote, mere minutes ago. The Teen Mom 2 mainstay reluctantly announced her pregnancy in February, confessing at the time that she hadn’t planned on going public with the big news just yet. Already the mother to a seven-year old named Isaac (with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera) and a three-year old named Lincoln (with ex-husband Javi Marroquin), Kailyn “wanted this to be a private time.” Lamenting that she just hoped “I could be excited while not getting chased by paparazzi and bothered with crazy headlines,” she wrote on Instagram, blaming “people” in her life for selling her out. In other words, announcing her status before she was prepared to tell the world. Did she plan to get pregnant, though? Or was this a mistake? “Please know this was a choice I made,” Lowry wrote earlier this year, adding: “I already know some won’t agree, but I’ve been showered with support by the ones I love since I found out… “I know this isn’t an ideal situation but I know everything will be okay.” The next few weeks were filled with viral speculation over the identity of Kailyn’s baby daddy. Was it Javi? Was it an MTV producer with whom she carried on an explicit relationship? No, it’s apparently some dude named Chris Lopez, who has a very low profile and who reportedly met Lowry while she was earning her college degree. While Kailyn’s relationship status with Lopez is unclear at the moment, the pair do not appear to be exclusive boyfriend and girlfriend. They don’t appear to be on very good terms at all, unfortunately, with sources recently saying Lowry is afraid Lopez won’t be in his son’s life . In any way, shape or form. That would be very sad, if it ends up being the case. “Kail became a relationship of convenience for him,” a source told Radar Online, explaining of Lopez and how he viewed his baby mama: “He never actually loved her. It was a relationship, but he just decided he wanted something different and things didn’t work out so they went their separate ways.” That would typically be fine and all. But now there’s a little person that exists and who would benefit greatly from having two active parents in his life. View Slideshow: Who is Kailyn Lowry’s Baby Daddy? Meet the Contenders, Ranked! Therefore, no matter what you may think of Kailyn Lowry and the decisions she’s made in life, please join us in hoping she and Lopez can work something out. Something, anything. For the sake of their brand new baby, at the very least, and for the two she already had, who are going through a lot as it is. We wish nothing but health and happiness to Kailyn’s latest child, and to her entire family at this exciting if tumultuous time. SMH: High School Recalls Yearbook After Caucasian Buffoon Writes “Build That Wall” As Senior Quote

Getty Images High School Recalls Yearbooks Over “Build That Wall” Quote A high school in North Carolina (go figure) is making headlines after a seemingly xenophobic quote made it to senior yearbooks . Somehow the girl thought it was ok to use “build that wall” as a senior quote, referring to Trumps immigration wall he wants us to pay for to keep “bad” Mexican immigrants away. Race aside, the politics behind the quote stirred hundreds of feathers. One facebook user posted the quote, raising awareness to friends about it. So Richmond county school system allowed this to be printed in their 2017 year book. I already knew this city was racist. Get a court date you’ll find out. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Richmond country schools have since confiscated the year books according to a statement on Facebook . Earlier this week, it was discovered by school administration that Richmond Early College yearbooks had errors and inappropriate comments. The principal immediately collected the distributed yearbooks. We regret that this incident has occurred and are currently working with the yearbook’s publisher to make corrections. As a district, we do not and will not tolerate inappropriate conduct toward any of our students. In each situation, our goal is to provide for the well-being of all of our students and prevent recurrences of inappropriate conduct.

Alex Trebek Raps on Jeopardy, Is Totally Lit

Over the years on Jeopardy, Alex Trebek has frequently impressed viewers with his rapping skills. Remember when he spit out lyrics to Drake's “Jumpman ?” Or when he went all Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on us? Both are great clips, to be sure, but neither compares to the fun Trebek had this week throughout an entire category on the College Tournament of Champions. The category was titled “Let’s Rap, Kids!” It required Trebek to read lyrics from such smash hits as Drake’s “Started from the Bottom,” Lil Wayne's “6 Foot 7 Foot,” Kanye West’s “Famous” and Desiigner’s “Panda.” 'Cause the F is for Finisher, people! Lamented Trebek when the category was over: “I was just getting into this rap thing. I’m not too good at it, but I was getting into it.” Eh, we don't know. For a 76-year old white guy from Canada? Trebek isn't bad! Some might even say he was “lit” during the episode. Would YOU say this? Watch the beloved game show host rap away and decide for yourself:
