Illuminati Files: Uncle BDR Doesn’t Think There’s Anything Wrong With Making A Profit From The “Occupy” Movement

Uh-oh! Uncle Russell ‘s true colors are starting to show… Russell Simmons has been attempting to co-opt the Occupy Wall Street movement for quite some time now, even though not everyone wants him to be there ( he has been asked to leave countless times ). Yet he returns to show his face, push his Rush Card debit card, make a few statements to the cameras, and get his photo taken. Recently, he even pat his pal Jay-Z on the back for introducing an “Occupy All Streets” t-shirt to the Rocawear clothing line . Now Billboard magazine has published an interview with Simmons, after tossing him some softballs last week. When asked about the t-shirt, Simmons says: What’s wrong with selling goodness? There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s not the most preferred. In yogi scripture, at least, the highest form of giving is giving without expectation. Selfless. But a lot of people need incentive. You should sell things you’re happy about. You should sell products that you’re inspired by, that promote lasting and stable well-being. Give the world something or sell the world something that you’re proud of. Jay-Z didn’t make a T-shirt [that said] “Fuck the Bums on the Street.” He wrote a T-shirt “Occupy All Streets”—I’m happy, it furthers the movement, it inspires the movement. Listen, I’m going to get every corporation that wants to support us to get branding as part of the process. No one’s against business. We’re against business having too much control over our government. Yeah, we’re glad we’re not the only ones noticing the sheep’s clothing don’t exactly fit this wolf. Source More On Bossip! Dirty Soap Season Finale Recap: Let’s Go Camping and Talk About Relationships!

On the season finale of Dirty Soap, Fary tried to set Nadia Bjorlin up with a guy, JP and Farah hit a turning point in their relationship, and everyone went camping. Kelly Monaco, meanwhile, prepares for life after General Hospital – funny that this is a new reality show about a declining genre – by better building up her brand. Whatever that means. She’s trying to branch out, let’s just leave it at that. Also, Kirsten Storms (pictured) is still MIA, but not forgotten. Get well girl. Tension between John-Paul Lavoisier and Farah Fath begins early when he says, at a group dinner, that he will never wear a wedding ring. Passive-aggressive much? Farah gets upset, and asks if he’s scared to move out to L.A. with her. He says she is the only reason he would move there, but still seems willing to take the plunge. Brandon Beemer plans a fun, totally non-scripted-by-E! camping trip for the gang to attend. Everyone, sans Kirsten of course, sets up camp near the beach to chill. There, Farah’s friend Danny asks Nadia about her mom and Brandon, and if her mother Fary is one of the reasons why she and Brandon aren’t already married. She says yes, basically, and he tells her to live life for her, no one else. Farah talks with Jenna about being career oriented and managing work and family life. Kelly Monaco interjects, saying she would love to be a mother one day. Kelly, of course, never married her ex after a 17-year relationship. She says while she firmly believes in commitment, it’s not a necessity to have a piece of paper. The men, meanwhile, are all on Brandon’s side. The Beemer admits he fears their relationship is not going to work out if Nadia believes anything that Fary says. Farah basically just wants to know if JP will marry her. He’s not saying. Then the elephant in the room comes to visit around the fire. The future of daytime TV is tepid at best and the gang does not know what lies ahead for them. Talk then turns to Kirsten Storms. girl who took over for Kirsten on General Hospital is good, but she’s not Kirsten. No word on her health. They toast her honor. Danny stars meddling, getting on JP for not popping the question, then riling up Farah while she’s drunk and making her cry over the prospect of JP not proposing. Good friend right there. He does get them to talk, however. JP says he wants to spend his life with her and all that, but she wants him to tell her flat out if he doesn’t want to get married. JP’s response? He just wants to hang out. Wrong answer. Farah tells him she’s going to break up with him. JP doesn’t want to, but it looks like he has no choice. The next morning, he comes around and decides life without her is too sad to risk losing her over this. He says one day they will get married. She’s like, thrilled. Kelly meets a guy to help her expand her brand. She begins to educate herself on clothing lines and meets with a designer at a convention whose line she may rep. Then the most awkward moment of all time. Nadia meets Fary for lunch and finds that her mom has brought Fernando along to meet her. She’s being set up. Nadia texts Brandon to meet them as Fary talks Fernando up. He starts flirting with Nadia pretty good too. But then Brandon shows up, much to Fary’s chagrin. Needless to say, lunch ends abruptly. Brandon and Nadia talk about how to handle this going forward, and he’s clearly thrown off by it, but they’re still okay. This woman clearly needs to be cut off – no one with any respect for their kid treats them like that – but we’ll see if they’ve got the guts to stand up to her. And there you have it. Until next season, hopefully … What did you think of the season finale of Dirty Soap? And the season as a whole? Who are your favorites and least favorites? Comment below!

Sister Wives Recap: Boston, Here They Come

Sister Wives took the show on the road this week. In the wake of a more serious episode that saw them discuss polygamist leader Warren Jeffs , TLC’s big happy polygamist family drama went road-trippin’ last night. The occasion was a panel discussion that Kody Brown and his four wives, Meri, Christine, Janelle and Robyn, agreed to attend at the request of a lecturer they met. Despite fears of facing a hostile audience, the fab five and the four oldest Brown children (Mariah, Logan, Aspyn and Madison) ventured out to the East Coast … The family first went out to dinner with Danielle, the pastor who invited them out and arranged this, and some college students to prep them for the panel discussion. Kody and the wives answered questions (at times personal ones) and a gay student, who worries that the Brown family wouldn’t accept him, learns it’s not the case. “How can we say we don’t accept your lifestyle, but please accept ours? We’re not like that,” says Christine, earning rave reviews from the student and her audience. The four teenagers, who are out there to look at Boston-area colleges, went out for ice cream with the college students, who asked about the plural marriage lifestyle. Specifically, will they continue it themselves when they become adults? Mariah, Meri’s only child, said, “I’ve decided I want to live like this.” Seriously. She even said she looks forward to having sister wives. That’s … good for her? Madison, however, has different ideas. She told the college students she doesn’t want to be in a plural marriage and Aspyn says she doesn’t think she will, either. Logan says Kody told him to just do whatever makes him happy, and really, that’s what it’s all about. As long as they’re not pressured and they have the choice. Finally, at the event, Kody worried people will call him a misogynist. That’s not exactly what happened, but he did face some tough questions just the same. Asked about the possibility of “brother husbands,” Kody was thrown for a loop and said he found the question “abrasive.” “That’s not a tenant of our faith,” Meri says. “Religions have rules and beliefs,” added Janelle, but you have to admit, that’s a fair question. Religion or not, what if the shoe were on the other foot, Kode-man? All in all, people were inquisitive, but receptive and tolerant.

Jay-Z Throws A Carnival For College Kids’ Scholarships

Jay’s foundation set up the Ferris wheel in New York on Thursday to raise funds for university-bound students’ scholarships. By Steven Roberts with reporting by Rob Markman Jay-Z at “Making The Ordinary Extraordinary” in New York City Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage NEW YORK — On Thursday night, Jay-Z hosted a carnival at the Hudson River Park pier for his Shawn Carter Foundation . But it wasn’t all Ferris wheels and funnel cakes — unfortunately Momofuku doesn’t make those. The event was called Making Ordinary Extraordinary, and it sought to raise funds for college scholarships. MTV News caught up with Mr. Carter at the event, where he said the evening was about having fun while raising money for a good cause. Jay said two of the worst things in life are a waste of talent and a person who applies him- or herself but is unable to advance due to financial hardship. He hoped this foundation would help ease such burdens and assist people in recognizing their potential. “Just providing opportunity and seeing what people do with that opportunity. If you want to go further and you want to further your education, just giving someone that extra little push [so] that maybe you’ll turn out to be someone special,” Jay said. Jay and his mother, Gloria Carter, started the foundation in 2002 to help those facing socioeconomic difficulties further their education at institutions of higher learning. The foundation started with one student earning a full ride through college and grew to offer 50 scholarships to students in 50 different states annually from 2003 to 2005. More than 750 students have been awarded scholarships totaling in excess of $1.1 million, and nearly 500 kids have taken part in the foundation’s college tours — some even rode the bus with Jay’s mom. “My mom has been running this for a number of years,” said Jay. “My mom gets on the bus and takes the kids and takes them to their orientations and she’s been riding around the college. It’s a real grassroots thing that she’s been doing on her own, and I’m just really trying to help her expand it so we can help more people. It started out as a Brooklyn thing, and then it started as a New York thing, and now hopefully we can take it to a worldwide thing.” Related Artists Jay-Z
