O’Reilly Discusses Comedy Central’s ‘JC,’ MRC’s Coalition to Ask Advertisers to Not Support It

On last night’s “O’Reilly Factor,” host Bill O’Reilly and guest analyst Arthel Neville discussed the possibly impending Comedy Central show “JC” – as in Jesus Christ. Given the network’s past treatment of Christianity, the portend for this show is hardly positive. Which is why the Media Research Center has put together a coalition to ask advertisers to publicly pledge to not underwrite/support the show.  Citizens Against Religious Bigotry (CARB) (which Ms. Neville graciously mentioned by name) is made up of many organizations – made up of Christians, Jews and Muslims – who would like to see religion not be the butt of raunchy/tasteless jokes, and who don’t think America’s advertisers should help fund said alleged humor. A petition to advertisers (to be found on the CARB website ) has garnered more than 115,000 signatures thus far. And if you aren’t familiar with how Comedy Central does Christianity, watch this video and you’ll get an idea of what can be expected should JC ever make it to the airwaves.

Jon Stewart Rips Obama’s Oil Spill Response: ‘The Ass Has Been Kicking You’

Jon Stewart Tuesday evening absolutely tore apart Barack Obama’s pathetic response to the Gulf Coast oil spill. Early in the almost ten minute segment of “The Daily Show,” the host chided the President’s comments to NBC’s Matt Lauer Monday, “We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers so I know whose ass to kick.” Stewart called Obama’s strategy ” AssQuest 2010 – The Search for Kickable Ass! ” After showing how the President referred to the situation in the Gulf as “complicated,” the “Comedy Central” star then demonstrated to viewers how this is the same excuse Obama has given to solving all the problems facing the nation including the financial crisis and healthcare. This led Stewart to wonder if the President’s favorite movie must be “It’s Complicated” with Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. In the end, “The Daily Show” host marvelously concluded, “I’m glad that you are looking for an ass to kick, but right now I gotta tell you, the ass has been kicking you” (video follows with commentary, vulgarity warning): The Daily Show With Jon Stewart Mon – Thurs 11p / 10c Ass Quest 2010 www.thedailyshow.com Daily Show Full Episodes Political Humor Tea Party Unfortunately, this segment would be much funnier if it wasn’t so true. As a result, it’s a bit sad given the seriousness of the situation down in the Gulf and the President’s abysmal response. Let’s hope the Administration eventually gets it.

Colbert Channels Our BP Anger, Whips ‘Tony Hayward’ (Video)

photo via comedy central Last night, Stephen Colbert, always the good samaritan, channeled our collective anger at BP over their never ending gusher. Colbert implored the president to show more anger at BP and its head, Public Enemy #1 CEO Tony Hayward. Hayward has raised our ire by saying insensitive things like he ” wants his life back .” The president seems to be listening to Colbert, telling the “Today” show he talk… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Howard Stern: I Won’t Work with Ellen DeGeneres on ‘American Idol’

Howard Stern stepped out in New York on Thursday night for the premiere of Matt Damon ‘s new film ‘Green Zone,’ and the radio icon offered ET his uncensored thoughts about new “Idol” judge Ellen DeGeneres and the changes he says he’d make to the show if he ended up joining it next season. “I read in the paper that they want to give me $100 million to judge a karaoke contest, and that seems like pretty good pay for something as dumb as that,” Stern said of the rumors that he’s received offers to be part of next season’s “Idol.” And he didn’t sugarcoat his feelings about the prospect of working alongside DeGeneres! Howard Stern On CBS ‘Early Show’: Jay Leno Bashing

Getty Images Howard Stern didn't have anything nice to say about Jay Leno today in his interview on CBS ' Early Show . He wasn't as lewd as he normally is on his own show, but he made no attempt to hide his disdain for the host. He bashed Leno pretty bad, and seemed like he had no qualms about his harsh words. Howard Stern (Getty) Among other things, Stern said Leno “seems to be the kind of showbiz animal who won't let go.” He said Leno was “fired” and that a “man” would move on. Guess he was on Team Coco, huh? Leno also apparently has an adverse effects on the shock jock's physical well-being. He said this morning: “Just the mere mention of Jay Leno's name makes me want to vomit.” How do you really feel, Mr. Stern? Howard also weighed in on the rumors that he'll be Simon Cowell 's replacement on American Idol next season. He didn't really answer the question either way, but said “in this economy,” he wouldn't turn down “100 million.” See the video here: See more pictures of Howard Stern here (click any picture):
