Charlie Sheen Gives Ashton Kutcher ‘Advice’ At The Emmys

‘Make us proud!’ actor tweets to his ‘Two and a Half Men’ replacement after backstage meeting. By Eric Ditzian Charlie Sheen and Ashton Kutcher backstage at the Emmy Awards Photo: Charlie Sheen The Charlie Sheen image-rehabilitation tour continues. Days after the former “Two and a Half Men” star began making the media rounds, confessing on the “Tonight Show” that he should have been fired and on the “Today” show that maybe pretending tiger blood coursed through his veins wasn’t such a good idea, Sheen popped over to the Emmy Awards on Sunday. Before presenting the lead actor award, Sheen, a four-time Emmy nominee during his run on “Men,” sauntered out onto the stage and told everyone at his old show, “From the bottom of my heart, I wish nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together, and I know you will continue to make great television.” As if this latest version of Charlie Sheen couldn’t get any stranger (or warm-and-fuzzier), the actor then tweeted a series of backstage pics with his “Two and a Half Men” replacement, Ashton Kutcher. “Giving the new kid a little advice!” Sheen tweeted , attempting a bit of elder statesman bonhomie, before adding some straightforward sincerity. “[G]reat talking to you! We’ll all be watching! Make us proud!” The flurry of apologies and normal-guy behavior comes ahead of the Monday-night premieres of Sheen’s Comedy Central Roast and the new “Two and a Half Men.” On Sunday night at the Emmys, Kutcher shared the stage with his new co-star, Jon Cryer, to whom he confessed, “I am not Charlie Sheen. Jon, I want to tell you something. I do not think that you are a troll.” Perhaps somewhere backstage, if not on Twitter, Sheen was able to apologize to Cryer for that troll comment a few months back. And if it didn’t happen on Sunday, it probably will in the future, for the Charlie Sheen rehabilitation tour shows no sign of slowing down, despite the lack of Adonis DNA onboard. Paula Deen to Anthony Bourdain: Get a Life, Uncharitable Snob!

In what may have been a slight exaggeration, Anthony Bourdain referred to celebrity chef Paula Deen this was as the worst, most dangerous person in America . What does Deen have to say about the No Reservations host in response? “Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life,” she told The New York Post . “You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael’s, Sandra’s and Guy’s. But it’s another thing to attack our character. I wake up every morning happy for where I am in life. It’s not all about the cooking, but the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country. In the last two years, my partners and I have fed more than 10 million hungry people by bringing meat to food banks.” Deen added that Bourdain has contributed nothing to society, aside from “being irritable.” Fighting words, folks! Charlie Sheen: A Changed Man?

With the exception of dodging some flying objects over the weekend, Charlie Sheen has remained relatively quiet over the last few weeks. Heck, he’s even made peace with Brooke Mueller . It may be confusing to those of us used to the actor’s Warlock ways, but Emilio Estevez says his brother is “a completely different guy.” This time for good, supposedly. Speaking to Access Hollywood , Estevez says Sheen has his “voice back.” The former Young Guns star credits a couple projects in the works for helping Charlie regain his “focus.” “He’s on a new show [ Anger Management ] and he’s gonna be roasted by Comedy Central – which I think is going to be hysterical,” Estevez says. “I think that he’s really got it together. And he’s very excited about the crew of the show he’s putting together.” [Photos: WENN.com]

Lonely Island Hype Turtleneck & Chain At Comedy Awards

‘You ever heard of Justin Timberlake or, like, Rihanna?’ Andy Samberg says to sell the collabo-heavy album. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer perform at the 2011 Comedy Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage When it comes to the Lonely Island, the comedy trio whose “Saturday Night Live” digital shorts like “Lazy Sunday,” “I’m on a Boat” and “Jizz in My Pants” have become immense viral sensations, it’s best to expect the unexpected. MTV News got a hold of the Lonely Island — comprised of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone — at the Comedy Awards , where they performed their Akon collaboration “I Just Had Sex,” but it didn’t take long for the group to take ahold of our interview. Our own Josh Horowitz attempted to ask the funnymen about their upcoming album Turtleneck & Chain, which drops May 10, but they decided to interview one another instead. Schaffer asked, to neither of his musical/comedy partners in particular: “Any guest stars we should know about?” To which Samberg dutifully responded, “I don’t know, you ever heard of Justin Timberlake or, like, Rihanna? You ever heard of her? … Do you know a guy named Akon? ‘Cause we do!” Upon hearing that, Schaffer shot back, “Wow, I’m sold. Thank you.” Fans are most certainly familiar with Timberlake, who has appeared on a number of popular Lonely Island tracks, including “Di– in a Box” and “Motherlover,” the latter of which will appear on Turtleneck & Chain. Another track on the sophomore album fans have already become familiar with is their dance-along number with Nicki Minaj called “The Creep,” which debuted during the January 29 episode of “SNL.” “She’s great,” Samberg said of Minaj. “She’s a little weirdo.” Schaffer agreed: “As soon as we saw she existed, we were like, ‘We have to do something with her!’ ” But that wasn’t all that drew the three men to the eccentric rapper, as Samberg joked, “We share a lot of attributes with her, ’cause it’s like lots of great rapping ability, super-bangin’ bods, really intense sense of style, nice smelling … did I say bangin’ bods?” Will you be buying the Lonely Island’s new record? Let us know in the comments! Don’t miss the Comedy Awards at 8 p.m. Sunday night on Comedy Central, VH1, Spike TV, Logo, CMT, TVLand and online at TheComedyAwards.com . Will Ferrell, Jon Stewart Crack Jokes At The Comedy Awards

‘The Golden Globes celebrate comedies every year — comedies like ‘Burlesque’ and ‘The Tourist,’ ‘ Andy Samberg points out to MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Will Ferrell arrives at the Comedy Awards on Sunday Photo: Getty Images If there were an awards show to celebrate the very best in comedy, you’d probably want Will Ferrell and Adam McKay there on the red carpet riffing about how “The Other Guys” was snubbed at the Oscars and now finally their genius is being recognized. “I was with Will during the Academy Awards, and he slowly got drunker and said, ‘What about my kind?’ ” you’d want McKay to say. “I kept saying, ‘It has to be nominated! It has to be on there!’ ” Ferrell would answer. “And I said, ‘Will, we know ahead of time if it’s going to be nominated,” McKay would respond. And Ferrell would shoot back, “‘No, tonight’s going to special! They’re going to announce a secret nomination.’ ” Here’s the funny thing: There is such an awards show — Comedy Central held the first annual Comedy Awards on Saturday night — and that exchange is exactly how Ferrell and McKay began a red-carpet chat with MTV News. And as other celebs joined them on the carpet — Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Andy Samberg, Tracy Morgan — they picked up on Ferrell and McKay’s theme: Does comedy need an awards show, or is laughter all the reward comedians need? “It’s all about winning things!” Andy Richter declared. “That’s the reason we all got into this. It’s all about trinkets and trophies.” Not so, said Stewart. “I’m not sure anything needs acknowledgement anymore, especially in the show-business arena,” the “Daily Show” host told us. “But here’s what I think it is: These carpets get no other use, and it would be wasteful not to use them. If you think about it that way, none of this is necessary.” Samberg, meanwhile, deadpanned that before the Comedy Awards, there was one show in particular around to reward the funniest people of the year. “The Golden Globes celebrate comedies every year — comedies like ‘Burlesque’ and ‘The Tourist,’ ” he said. “And ‘Chicago’ — another hilarious comedy. So no, we don’t need this night.”

‘The Situation’ Jokes About Slavery At Comedy Central Roast

Originally posted here:

At Donald Trump’s Comedy Central Roast last night, Jersey Shore cast-mate Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, got up on stage to attempt some stand up comedy. As I suppose you would expect from someone who spends their days GTL’ing (gym, tan, laundry) and proudly proclaims, ‘I’m hooking up with this girl, your girl’s girl, and your girlfriend’s girlfriend’s girlfriend. Somebody’s gotta do it’, he took the low road. According to The Frisky , The Situation, addressed Donald Trump and Snoop Dogg (who openly smoked a huge blunt while on stage), and said; ‘hey, Snoop Dogg, Donald Trump and your ancestors had a lot in common — they owned real estate, and your ancestors were property! … This is my first time doing comedy!’. Seriously? I would never have guessed. What a fool. I’m sorry, but joking about the slave trade, and calling Black people property isn’t funny. Thankfully, the crowd at the gala didn’t think so either, and booed him off stage, making him the first roaster to be booed in over 10 years. Sadly, people trying to make light of slavery, seems to be a trend (remember Chelsea Handler at the VMA’s?). I’m all for not judging people for others mistakes and trying not to dwell on a situation, but it really does bother me when White people try to make light of the African American struggle for freedom and equality. What do you think? Is it becoming acceptable for someone, especially a White person to make jokes about slavery? ‘Last Comic Standing’ Finalist Mike DeStefano Dead At 44

Comedian suffered a massive heart attack Sunday. By James Dinh Mike DeStefano Photo: Michael Schwartz/ Getty Images “Last Comic Standing” finalist Mike DeStefano died Sunday after suffering a massive heart attack, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A rep for the 44-year-old DeStefano, who was a finalist on the NBC reality competition, confirmed the news in a statement to TMZ . “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a dear friend, a true gentleman, a great comic, and a fierce warrior, Mike DeStefano,” his rep said. “Mike had a lot of wisdom to share with the world from his own life lessons and he always did it with laughter and a smile. “It’s hard to think that there won’t be any more ‘hey sweetheart’ calls, because Mike always made my day with his mix of kindness and warmth AND profanity filled rants against the wrongs of the world. He was the genuine article. We love you and will miss you, Mike,” the statement continued. A former heroin addict, DeStefano had been clean for 11 years as well as HIV positive at the time of his death. Prior to competing on “Last Comic Standing,” the Bronx native had appeared on other shows, including “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” and Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham.” The comic was set to take his one-man show “A Cherry Tree” back to his home borough on Wednesday. He had also recently wrapped up a line of sold-out shows called “Drugs, Disease and Death: A Comedy.” Share your condolences for DeStefano’s family and friends in the comments.
