South Carolina native Stephen Colbert is the top choice of Palmetto State residents to fill the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by Jim DeMint, a new poll indicates. DeMint is stepping down to head a conservative think tank. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will appoint a successor to complete DeMint’s term, which ends in 2014. That November, an election will be held … but until then it’s Haley’s call alone. According to Public Policy Polling, The Colbert Report host would be the most popular appointee . Colbert has already expressed interest in the vacancy, too. The Comedy Central staple has been asking viewers to tweet at Gov. Haley, a Republican who he calls a “friend of the show,” and lobby her to appoint him. The federal government would certainly become a lot funnier overnight. Could this really happen? Probably not, though Haley’s approval ratings are way down with Democrats and independents, so a PR coup might not hurt. Just saying. Colbert is famous for trying to insert himself into the political process. He attempted to run in this year’s South Carolina primary and started his own Super PAC. Should Stephen Colbert be appointed to the U.S. Senate? Yes! He’s hilarious and smart, too! No, someone else! View Poll »
Po’ lil tink think… Earlier this week, a very emotional Katt announced his retirement on a street corner in Seattle insisting that he was, “kinda done.” Welp! Looks like crazy Katt might be back to doing rocks comedy… Katt Williams Unretires From Comedy Via TMZ reports : But now, Katt’s management team says he’s undone … telling us, “Katt is definitely NOT retiring. He will be moving forward with the tour … Friday is Texas, Saturday New Orleans, and on to Alabama.” Management adds, “The reason why he made remarks was due to him feeling totally disrespected by all the things that happen to him in the city of Seattle. He had a moment where he felt very unappreciated. He now just wants to move forward from those unfortunate events and give his fans outstanding shows from this point forward.” Katt has also not retired from dealing with court … TMZ has learned Williams was just charged with 2 counts of 4th degree misdemeanor assault in Seattle stemming from a bar fight this past weekend. As we reported, Katt was arrested Sunday after allegedly threatening the bar manager with a pool cue and refusing to leave the establishment … then later throwing a cigarette at a woman’s eye. Police claim Katt also threw a rock at the woman’s car as she left. Of course, this is just one incident in Katt’s long string of bizarre behavior recently, including slapping a Target employee and leading Sacramento police on a wild three-wheeled motorcycle chase. Vegas should start taking bets on when he will arrested next.
Popular song by Atlanta’s Trinidad James has a spoof. It’s called “All Ashy Everything”, watch below: Katt Williams Slaps Target Employee! Don’t Believe Me Just…
The unveiling of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival line-up has begun! (Get the first wave of titles in the U.S. and World dramatic and documentary slate, plus the NEXT selections here .) Here are ten intriguing, surprising, and promising figures and filmmakers to look forward to following around Park City as their films vie among the 16 dramatic and 16 documentary films in competition this year — including a certain Twilight maven, everyone’s favorite boy wizard, and two kinds of Bries. 1. Stephenie Meyer ( Austenland ) When you think “billion-dollar vampire franchise” you don’t necessarily think “Sundance,” but after producing the last two films in her Twilight series ( Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2 ) and the upcoming adaptation of her sci-fi novel The Host , Stephenie Meyer came onboard to produce another lit adaptation, Austenland , based on Shannon Hale’s book — and the Jerusha Hess-helmed pic, starring Keri Russell, Bret McKenzie and JJ Feild, makes its debut in competition in Park City. Thirtysomething, single Jane is obsessed with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice. On a trip to an English resort, her fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman become more real than she ever imagined. 2. David Sedaris ( C.O.G. ) Bestselling author David Sedaris gets his first big screen adaptation in C.O.G. , based on a short story in Sedaris’s book Naked . Kyle Patrick Alvarez directs Jonathan Groff ( Glee ) in the account based on Sedaris’s own experience working as an apple picker in Oregon, joined by a colorful cast including Casey Wilson, Dean Stockwell, Corey Stoll, Dale Dickey, and Denis O’Hare. In the first ever film adaptation of David Sedaris’ work, a cocky young man travels to Oregon to work on an apple farm. Out of his element, he finds his lifestyle and notions being picked apart by everyone who crosses his path. 3. Lake Bell ( In a World… ) The hilarious Lake Bell stars in and makes her feature directorial debut with In a World after cutting her teeth on the comedy short Worst Enemy and episodes of Childrens Hospital . An underachieving vocal coach is motivated by her father, the king of movie-trailer voice-overs, to pursue her aspirations of becoming a voiceover star. Amidst pride, sexism and family dysfunction, she sets out to change the voice of a generation. 4. Harry Potter — okay, okay: Daniel Radcliffe ( Kill Your Darlings ) Daniel Radcliffe as Allen Ginsberg. Ben Foster as William Burroughs. Jack Huston as Jack Kerouac. An untold story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that led to the birth of an entire generation – their Beat revolution. 5. Sebastian Silva & Michael Cera ( Crystal Fairy ) Michael Cera stars in two upcoming films from Silva, who won the Sundance Grand Jury Prize in 2009 for The Maid , but they had me at “Mescaline-fueled psychedelic trip,” (Their second film, Magic Magic , is also set in Chile.) Jamie invites a stranger to join a road trip to Chile. The woman’s free and esoteric nature clashes with Jamie’s acidic, self-absorbed personality as they head into the desert for a Mescaline-fueled psychedelic trip. 6. Cherien Dabis ( May in the Summer ) Sundance alum Dabis nabbed the FIPRESCI prize out of Cannes with 2009’s Amreeka and serves as writer, director, and star of her sophomore feature, which also features Alexander Siddig, Hiam Abbass, Bill Pullman, and Alia Shawkat. A bride-to-be is forced to reevaluate her life when she reunites with her family in Jordan and finds herself confronted with the aftermath of her parents’ divorce. 7. Lynn Shelton ( Touchy Feely ) The busy Lynn Shelton ( Your Sister’s Sister ) is back in Park City with Touchy Feely , starring Rosemarie Dewitt, Ellen Page, and rising star Scoot McNairy, who should be your favorite breakout actor of 2012. A massage therapist is unable to do her job when stricken with a mysterious and sudden aversion to bodily contact. Meanwhile, her uptight brother’s foundering dental practice receives new life when clients seek out his “healing touch.” 8. The Bries: Alison Brie ( Toy’s House ) & Brie Larson ( The Spectacular Now ) Sundance-watchers get a double serving of girl crushes as Hollywood’s two gorgeous, adorable Bries pop up in competition pics. Toy’s House : Three unhappy teenage boys flee to the wilderness where they build a makeshift house and live off the land as masters of their own destiny. Or at least that’s the plan. The Spectacular Now : Sutter is a high school senior who lives for the moment; Aimee is the introvert he attempts to “save.” As their relationship deepens, the lines between right and wrong, friendship and love, and “saving” and corrupting become inextricably blurred. 9. Shane Carruth ( Upstream Color ) You’d be hard pressed to find a filmmaker whose new work will be as anticipated at Sundance as Shane Carruth, who presents his first film since debuting with the sci-fi indie hit Primer . A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives. 10. Pussy Riot ( Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer ) The Russian punk ladies imprisoned for being awesome are the subject of the documentary Pussy Riot – A Punk Prayer , which world premieres in Park City and competes in the World Cinema Documentary category. Three young women face seven years in a Russian prison for a satirical performance in a Moscow cathedral. But who is really on trial: the three young artists or the society they live in? Jamie Foxx is posted up on the December issue of Men’s Health magazine and from the looks of his biceps, we’re wondering just how powerful Django Unchained is going to be. Here are a few snippets from his interview in the mag: Jamie on why playing a cowboy in Django Unchained was second nature to him… “I watched Bonanza. I watched Hee Haw. I spun guns on my finger. Every kid, if you were in Texas, wanted to be a cowboy, whether you were black, white, Mexican, whatever.” Jamie after delving into centuries of American racism for Django Unchained… [A few onscreen fistfights were] “actually a breath of fresh air, to get all that tension out.” Jamie on being one of the most adaptable entertainers in the business… “You just have to live. As a comedian, you have to do it in different rooms. You can do it in the hood; I did it in the hood for a long time. And I took that same muscle and did it uptown, where the audience is Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and all those guys. You still remain the same person, and you get your stamp. It’s like a passport.” Jamie on the one experience that gave him a certain authority on the set of Any Given Sunday… “I got into the movie, and there’s Al Pacino, there’s Cameron Diaz, there’s James Woods, there’s all these incredible actors. But the one thing I had on my side: I played football. And I knew more about football than any of these guys. That’s what I relied on.” Jamie on his evolving career… “One thing I’ve learned: You have to rely on someone to tell you what is hot and what’s not as you get older. That’s what I do; I ask. When Kanye was telling me about ‘Slow Jamz,’ I was trying to sing it all happy, and he was like, ‘Don’t do that. This is hip-hop. Trust me, the simpler it is, the more effective it is.’ Music is changing. If you don’t change with it, you’ll be at the casino performing: ‘How y’all feel out there tonight?’ I’m still learning how to stay relevant and current–and at the same time not lose who I am, not be too young.” Jamie on his willingness to unlearn to stay on top… “Here’s what you’re going to unlearn now: Somehow you have to pull yourself away from media, not be so shiny in the next 10 years, because it hurts the art. When you go on talk shows, you have to be lighthearted, which helps and hurts. Now I’ve got to change the satellite a little bit. That’s the tricky part now. How do you navigate through the world you live in and still be an artist? Because that’s the only thing that’s going to survive.” Jamie on doing pushups during down time at his cover shoot… “It goes back to when you’re a kid looking in the mirror, and you want to be the guy in the magazine.” Images via Men’s Health Magazine
For real tho?!?! Clearly foreign affairs isn’t Kim’s strong point!! Acording to TMZ : Kim Kardashian is APOLOGIZING for “offending” some of her followers by tweeting about the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Kim says she wants “own up” for publishing two tweets — the first read, “Praying for everyone in Israel.” A short time later, she added, “Praying for everyone in Palestine and across the world!” Kim later deleted both the tweets — and issued the following explanation: “I want to own up to and explain that earlier today I sent out two tweets about saying prayers for the people in Palestine and Israel and after hearing from my followers, I decided to take down the tweets because I realized that some people were offended and hurt by what I said, and for that I apologize.” The statement continues, “I should have pointed out my intentions behind these tweets when I posted them. The fact is that regardless of religion and political beliefs, there are countless innocent people involved who didnt choose this, and I pray for all of them and also for a resolution. I also pray for all the other people around the world who are caught in similar crossfires.” Think before you tweet folks! Images via tumblr

Rush Limbaugh Calls Governor Christie ‘A Fat Fool’ For Hurricane Sandy Bi-Partisan Actions Meat-headed motor mouth Rush Limbaugh is doing what he does best and talking that talk in the worst way. This time the political prude targeted Republican NJ Governor Chris Christie for putting politics aside to work with President Obama in efforts to aid Hurricane Sandy victims . via Comedy Central President Barack Obama and Governor Chris Christie took a brotherly tour of New Jersey yesterday, each praising the others’ leadership as they surveyed damage in the state. But why the sudden comity? Why doesn’t Chris Christie reject federal aid in lieu of Mitt Romney’s canned garbanzo beans from Ohio? Or criticize the president for failing to appoint a horse judge as FEMA director? Or invite Paul Ryan into the state to cleanup all the debris that has already been cleared by DPW workers, like a real conservative leader? It could be that Christie actually cares about the state he governs, though Rush Limbaugh has an alternate explanation… “He’s fat and a fool. Don’t listen to Governor Christie. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about… “Christie’s the only Republican not just praising Obama, it’s a — let’s just put it this way. Is it wrong for one man to love another man? But that man love out there is isolated in the state of New Jersey.” Though this Comedy Central blog put this idiot Limbaugh on full blast in the most hilarious way possible, this fool needs to reign in his fawkery on a serious note and join his fellow douchebag Donald Trump in the aint-isht-people-of-the-year corner.
