President Barack Obama stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, bringing with him more than just his Secret Service detail. He also brought his self-deprecating sense of humor! The 44th Commander-in-Chief participated in one of the show’s most beloved traditions on Thursday evening, reading mean Tweets about himself, just as countless celebrities have done before him on the talk show. Barack Obama Reads Mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel Live But while Internet users blamed Obama for the price of Coors Light… mocked his mom jeans… and wanted to see him shipped him off to a golf course, why do we somehow think Kimmel left out a few of the harsher Obama-bashing Tweets out there? Probably for the best, though. “Those weren’t that mean. You should see what the Senate says about me,” Obama later joked as a guest on the program. Perhaps next time Kimmel can dedicate a segment to what North Korea says about Obama . Or maybe Obama can sing Uptown Funk for real. You can check out all the action below when you watch Scandal online : Watch Scandal Season 4 Episode 15 Online One storyline focused on Susan Ross preparing to glide through the Senate confirmation process for Vice President. That didn’t take long. Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff are already broken up … according to a new tabloid cover from an unreliable source, anyway. The Bachelor spoilers don’t indicate anything of the sorts happened, but Life & Style claims Soules cheated on Whitney, and with her best friend! On this week’s finale, after he sent home Becca Tilley not really broken-hearted, Chris and Whitney finally made their public debut as a couple. On the After The Final Rose live show, the pair who gushed about wanting to get married all season long said there was no wedding being planned. Instead, they said, they just want to live as a “normal couple.” Fair enough, but from Soules and Bischoff, this came as something of a surprise … as is Chris going Dancing With the Stars starting next week. This turn of events has raised a few red flags among card carrying members of Bachelor Nation, with some speculating that they’ve already split. How you get from that to the tabloid cover above, proclaiming “Chris & Whitney Over Already: He Slept With Her Best Friend,” is beyond us, however. The cover goes on to tease an inside story detailing how Whitney Bischoff came to realize that Chris Soules was just “using her for fame and money.” Pretty hilarious assertion, given that Chris’ family farm actually does extremely well, and Bischoff was the one dying to move in together with him there. As for the Dancing With the Stars thing … it did surprise us. Sean Lowe did it too, however, and went on to marry Catherine Giudici and return to normal life not long afterward. So it’s likely a one-off for Chris too. Expect Whitney Bischoff to be in the ABC audience every week until Chris gets axed, even as rumors about the duo’s demise continue to swirl. Because that’s just how things roll post- Bachelor , y’all. You tell us: Will Chris and Whitney last? OMG Yes! Of course! They are made for each other! Maybe. Not sure, but they’ve got a chance. No way! I just don’t see the connection. View Poll »
Kelly Osbourne and other stars are reacting to Kathy Griffin quitting Fashion Police yesterday, and the collective response has been nothing but positive. The 54-year-old Griffin announced on Twitter that she is out of the E! series after just seven episodes, as her brand of humor did not fit with the series. Fashion Police has been extremely controversial as of late, which would seemingly make it a perfect fit for a star who courts controversy like Kathy. Not the case, though. While she can certainly be “inappropriate” in her comedy, as she admits, she feels the show goes too far for no reason at all. “I am a freedom-loving female and gay rights activist who loves to find the funny in all people, attitudes, beliefs, and appearances, but only when the context permits intelligent humor.” “My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT.” “Listen, I am no saint. But I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference.” She wished the show and its creative team well … but DAMN! Griffin thanked fans who back her efforts to “help women, gay kids, people of color and anyone who feels underrepresented to have a voice and a LAUGH!” Her comments quickly drew praise from her ex-colleague. Kelly Osbourne quit Fashion Police last month as well, and writes, “I could not be more proud of you @kathygriffin you have my love and support always!” The two stars’ departures both come in the wake of Giuliana Rancic bashing Zendaya during the Oscars with a joke many felt was racially charged. Griffin had previously condemned the joke, and Osbourne sought to distance herself from Rancic and the quip even before she bolted the program. Chelsea Handler, another former E! personality, also commended Griffin: “@kathygriffin way to go girl. Stick to your guns. Onwards and sideways. Lub you.” Rosie O’Donnell, Jane Lynch, Ashley Fink, Josh Groban, Aubrey Plaza and many others were equally quick to give Griffin props for her exit from E! The show’s future is far from clear. The next Fashion Police episode is set for March 30, even though only Rancic and Brad Goreski are left on the panel. Is this the end of an era? And would it be a good thing? 29 Celebrities With and Without Makeup 1. Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian’s doesn’t lie about the fact that makeup MAKES her who she is. Awesome; Danny Boyle is back with his first new film since 2010, and what it lacks in James Franco amputations, his latest, Trance more than makes up for in James McAvoy, and a reunion with writer John Hodge for the first time since 2000’s The Beach . Trance stars James McAvoy as Simon, an art dealer who plots with, then betrays a criminal gang over the theft of a Goya masterpiece. The leader of the gang (Vincent Cassel) bashes Simon in the head over the betrayal, an injury which Simon then claims as the cause of amnesia which has the convenient side effect of erasing the memory of where he hid the pilfered art. (Note to self: practice amnesia for my spectacular bank robbery plan.) The question of whether or not Simon is lying looms large, and the mobster then hires a hypnotherapist ( Rosario Dawson ) to draw the damaged memories out, which apparently leads to a confusing blend of reality and dream, plus, we assume, plenty of angry Europeans and punching. Basically, it’s Dreamscape meets Memento . Danny Boyle is inarguably great, but it’s been a while since I’ve felt anything beyond basic admiration for his films. Yay to him for returning to thrillers, and Scottish actors, after so many years.

To dispatch with the pleasantries and get straight to the but : Arthur Christmas favors the late-century style of computer animation that turns characters into smooth, plasticky dirigibles, adding a Made-in-China cello-skin to faces and scenery alike and vacuum-sealing the works for maximum digital freshness. I’ve never cared for the look — if cartoons could be embalmed, that’s how I imagine they’d be — and in sharing a release weekend with a Muppets revival, the limits of Arthur ‘s CGI puppeteering seem even more stark. That is of course, until you consider almost everything outside of my but — which may well not be yours — which is to say the near-total mitigation of aesthetic bummers with an avalanche of charm, wit, and enlivening, highly oxygenated performances.
Everyone seems to love the retro ’60s vibe of Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class . But do we really want to see Professor Xavier, Magneto, and Co. slogging through the not-quite-as-fashionable 1970s and 1980s in potential sequel story lines? (Think hard about this. On the one hand: Magneto in bellbottoms doing lines with Emma Frost at Studio 54. On the other: Dazzler.)
