‘Hunger Games’ Star Urges Fans To Vote For ‘Underdog’ At Movie Awards

By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Leven Rambin Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — “The Hunger Games” star Leven Rambin is beyond appreciative of all the love fans have shown the movie since it dropped in March. But, she still has one request of you tributes: get out and vote for the flick at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards going down this Sunday! “All the fans that saw the ‘Hunger Games’ — they came out to all the events, they came out to the malls and the premiere and they camped [out],” Rambin told MTV News. “This was the first movie in our franchise and you guys showed so much love and hard-core dedication, so please give our little movie some votes this year.” The film is vying for a Golden Popcorn against the likes of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and the last “Harry Potter” flick, so Rambin knows the competition is stiff. “We know we’re the underdog and we’re the new kids and we really pushed through,” she said. “We made a great movie and you guys were awesome the whole time. So vote for ‘Hunger Games’ [for] Best Cast and I’m sure we’ll be there to receive our honors. Thank you for your support.” In addition to Best Cast , the film is also up for Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Best Hero, Breakthrough Performance, Best On-Screen Transformation , Best Fight and Best Kiss. Tune in for the extra dose of girl power Sunday at 9 p.m. ET! By Ryan J. Downey Jessica Biel Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images One gal has played a vampire, another a vampire hunter and the third (and most distinguished of them all) hunted a smooth-talking killer who made up for his lack of supernatural superpowers with an overabundance of vampire-like appetite. Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale and Jodie Foster have been added to the list of presenters at the Sunday’s 2012 MTV Movie Awards . Biel, who hunted vampires alongside Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes in “Blade: Trinity,” will hopefully keep her slaying prowess restrained around the stars from “Twilight” and the rest of the otherworldly and sci-fi types at the celeb-packed affair. Beckinsale, of course, has top-lined most of the “Underworld” movies as a cool and action-oriented vamp. Of her many memorable roles, Foster will forever be connected with Hannibal Lector thanks to her Oscar-winning performance in “The Silence of the Lambs.” None of them are strangers to the Movie Awards, of course. Biel was nominated for Best Female Performance as Adam Sandler’s love interest in the comedy “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” four years ago. Four years before that, in 2004, the former “7th Heaven” star was nominated in the “Breakthrough Female Performance” category for the remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Michael Bay’s World War II epic “Pearl Harbor,” co-starring Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett, set the stage for Beckinsale’s first nomination, which was for Best Female Performance in 2002. Two years later, she was up for Best Trans-Atlantic Breakthrough Performer, and in 2006, “Underworld: Evolution” earned her a non-gender-specific nomination for Best Hero. Foster was up for Best Female Performance herself for 1994’s “Nell,” which also earned her an Oscar nomination. Biel and Beckinsale star together in “Total Recall,” the remake of the ’80s sci-fi auctioneer that sees Colin Farrell stepping in for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Foster, who last appeared in the Roman Polanski talkative dramady “Carnage,” has a sci-fi flick of her own on the way. “Elysium” co-stars Matt Damon and was written and directed by Neill Blomkamp (“District 9”). The trio of actresses just announced will join a who’s-who of presenters that includes “The Amazing Spider-Man” stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield; Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron from this weekend’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” as well as Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg. Fans will be able to choose all the winners. Voting in all 12 categories is open through Saturday, June 2, over at MovieAwards.MTV.com . It’s up to you to decide who goes onstage to collect their Golden Popcorn on Sunday. “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids” lead the field with eight nominations apiece, with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” and “21 Jump Street” right behind with six nods each. The MTV Movie Awards will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Teen Choice Awards 2012: Nominations Revealed!

The 2012 Teen Choice Awards will, once again, arbitrarily celebrate the hottest teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web! In a star-studded event Sunday, July 22, the hottest of the hot will be feted. The Vampire Diaries leads the way with six nominations, with American Idol and Justin Bieber garnering five nominations a piece. Not shabby totals. Starting today, fans ages 13-19 can vote once each day per category for their favorite nominees at the official Teen Choice Awards website. Go to it! Kimmy Cakes isn’t content with being a successful reality star! Now she wants her own sitcom. Kim Kardashian Aspiring To Be Sitcom Star Kim Kardashian wants to branch out from reality TV to become a sitcom star. The ample-bottomed beauty is in the early stages of developing her own scripted half-hour comedy series, sources say, in addition to having just extended her family’s deal with E! Entertainment for three more seasons of their namesake hit, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” “Kim wants to move beyond reality TV and become a comedy actress,” says a source. “She really wants to be the next Sofia Vergara.” Sources close to the attention-craving, aspiring thespian add she’s eager to establish herself apart from her family. “Acting is something she wants to do just for her,” one source told us. “Kim wants to do something that wouldn’t involve her sisters [Kourtney and Khloe].” Kim’s desire to move on to her own show comes after a number of appearances away from her family and E! She popped up on a live episode of NBC’s “30 Rock” Thursday, playing herself in two scenes, and tweeted afterward: “Anyone see 30 Rock tonight??? I had a blast!!!! Love this show!” Jon Hamm, Paul McCartney, Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon also made cameos. Kris Humphries’ ex also played herself on an episode of Tim Allen’s ABC sitcom “Last Man Standing” in February. And she’ll play a character in Tyler Perry’s upcoming movie, “The Marriage Counselor,” opposite Vanessa Williams and Jurnee Smollett. It’s unclear who’ll produce Kim’s proposed sitcom, but sources speculate it could be “Kardashians” partner Ryan Seacrest. The “American Idol” host’s production company has been expanding into scripted projects, including a series for ABC based on the 2007 Scarlett Johansson movie “The Nanny Diaries,” as well as a feature film for Universal starring Reese Witherspoon. But one Hollywood insider says of any impending deal, “It’s not locked yet.” Reps for Kardashian had no comment. Do you think Kimmy Cakes has what it takes to make it as a real actress? ‘That’s My Boy’ A ‘Throwback’ To Early Adam Sandler

‘Adam Sandler has always been one of my comedy idols, so to get to work with him was really fun,’ Will Forte tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler in “That’s My Boy” Photo: Sony Pictures No matter what you thought about Adam Sandler ‘s last few zany comedies, there are more than a few reasons to be excited about his next release, “That’s My Boy.” First, it’s Sandler’s first-ever R-rated comedy. Second, it features a cast of former and current “SNL” players like Andy Samberg and Will Forte , as well as James Caan and Vanilla Ice. And third, the outrageous plot revolves around a deadbeat father (Sandler) who attempts to reconnect with his long-lost son (Samberg) on the week of his wedding. MTV News recently caught up with funnyman Forte to find out all about the on-set antics, Sandler’s genius abilities in the art of swearing, how awesome Vanilla Ice is in the film and if we’ll ever see a “MacGruber” sequel. MTV News : In looking at the cast and concept of this film, it seems as though you probably had a lot of fun on set. Will Forte : It was a ton of fun. I’ve always watched Sandler movies and thought, “Oh my God, that looks like it would be so much fun.” They’re always in Hawaii or some glamorous setting, and it really is as much fun as you would think it would be. It was like going to summer camp for this. Everyone was so cool. He’s such a loyal and good person. He always works with the same people on the crew, so it’s a real family-like atmosphere. MTV : How does your character fit into the mix? Forte : I play this guy named Bill, and he is Andy’s best man. I don’t really know Andy that well, so you find out later when Adam comes to find Andy on his wedding weekend, I give up my best-man duties to Adam. It’s definitely not a straight man; he’s kind of a weirdo. It’s a fun character. There’s a mix of different types of characters in there. I’m one of the ones who gets to have a lot of fun and be an idiot. MTV : How does the R rating enhance the fun factor? Forte : It’s a completely different situation. There is so much going on in this movie. It’s a really fun movie. Adam Sandler has always been one of my comedy idols, so to get to work with him was really fun, and to add into that the R-rated part of this movie, it was so fun. There are very few people who can swear with the style and enunciation of Adam. He just hits them just right. It was so much fun. This movie feels like a throwback to some of the earlier Sandler movies, with the addition of swearing. I cannot tell you how fun this experience was. I feel like when you watch the movie, you can tell how much fun we had. MTV : How was it working with Vanilla Ice? Forte : I got to hang out with Vanilla Ice quite a bit. It was awesome. He is so different than I thought he would be. He’s this very sweet and loving person, just kind of normal for Vanilla Ice, if that makes sense. He’s this wonderful, warm person, but still the Vanilla Ice you want to see. He doesn’t disappoint you in not being Vanilla Ice-y enough. He’s an awesome guy. MTV : You have a lot of things on your plate in addition to this movie, like “Rock of Ages,” the comedy pilot “Rebounding.” What are the odds we’ll ever see a “MacGruber” sequel? Forte : We would love to do a “MacGruber” sequel! I don’t know if anyone with any money would love us to do a “MacGruber” sequel, but we talk about it all the time, and we might even — to just get it out of our heads — we might sit down and write a second one. If we could somehow talk somebody into putting some money up for it [that would be great]. We’re so proud of that movie and had so much fun doing it. There is no serious talk about making a “MacGruber” sequel, but there’s some non-serious talk about it. A couple of the people who were a part of it sit around and get drunk and talk about it; that’s the level of talk. “That’s My Boy” opens everywhere June 15. By John Mitchell Rihanna Photo: Getty Images Rihanna will hit the “Saturday Night Live” stage for the third time when she performs on the legendary sketch comedy show on May 5. New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will host. The pop star has a long history with the show and has always been a standout guest. While she always nails it on stage for her musical performance, Rihanna also tends to pop up throughout the show to flex her comedy muscles in sketches and, most notably, in rumored-to-be-departing Andy Samberg’s buzzed-about digital shorts. Her first “Shy Ronnie” short landed an Emmy nomination and she reprised the role for another digital short over Halloween weekend in 2010, playing Clyde to Shy Ronnie’s Bonnie as the unlikely couple holds up a bank and Ronnie’s bashful nature causes their plan to go array. For all intents and purposes, Rihanna’s appearance is to promote both her album Talk That Talk and her film debut in the upcoming “Battleship,” but for those still keeping an eye on the happenings of Ri Ri and ex Chris Brown, it’s worth noting that May 5 is also Brown’s birthday, so get ready for plenty of “will Chris Brown show up for a surprise appearance” speculation. The gig will be Manning’s first time hosting, though he made a brief cameo when his brother, Peyton, hosted in 2007. Are you excited for Rihanna’s “SNL” return?
