Megan Fox Hopes She’s ‘Lucky Enough’ To Have A Long Career

‘I haven’t done the same thing twice, and I want to keep moving in that direction,’ ‘Jonah Hex’ actress tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Megan Fox Photo: Bill Sloyer/ MTV News Sometimes, it’s hard to fathom that Megan Fox ‘s prominent place in the pop-culture conversation only dates back to her 2007 breakout role as Mikaela Banes in director Michael Bay’s “Transformers.” Since then, she’s appeared in four films and has two more completed projects on the way, including this weekend’s “Jonah Hex.” And if Fox has her way, she’ll be kicking around on the big screen for several more years to come. “If I’m lucky enough,” Fox told MTV News about her hopes to make her acting career a longtime commitment. “I mean, I would love the opportunity to do that. But that’s not really up to me; that’s up to the world.” Surely, the world would throw its support behind Fox’s desires to stay on the big screen, if only because of her incredibly entertaining offscreen antics (see: her notorious Michael Bay feud ). But Fox doesn’t believe she’s a provocative personality , so much as a misinterpreted one. “I don’t feel like I’ve ever necessarily said anything that was provocative,” she said. “I think that people take relatively innocent statements and turn them into provocative things. … People have no idea how to react. It’s not that the statement itself is outrageous.” As for what the future holds for Fox aside from “Jonah Hex,” the actress will be seen opposite Mickey Rourke in “Passion Play,” a film in which she plays a winged circus performer. Additionally, she remains attached to “Fathom,” an action film based on the comic book created by the late Michael Turner. Beyond those commitments, Fox has only one concrete plan: mixing it up. “I don’t have anything specific, like, a specific genre film that I want to do,” she said. “I just want to keep doing things that are completely different, because so far, I haven’t done the same thing twice, and I want to keep moving in that direction.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Jonah Hex.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Cheryl Tweedy Can Do No Wrong

Look, I know that occasionally even the hottest women in the world like Cheryl Tweedy will on occasion make some weird ass faces, but that’s not to say that we should jump all over them saying they’re ugly. I’m aware that sounds a little hypocritical coming from a douche who makes his living pointing out the flaws of celebrities, but when it comes to Cheryl I have a soft spot. At least I used to have a soft spot, it’s getting kinda hard now that I’ve posted these pictures of my future ex-wife. get it? She makes me hard assholes. Enjoy.

GURLS who RUL! – peasant-geekery fanboydom,…at least.

Cheryl Tweedy Gets A Little Oral Action

I know that the title to this post may seem like I’m implying that my future ex-wife Cheryl Tweedy is doing something sexual, but sadly all she’s doing is getting some work done at the orthodontist. Boo. Luckily for you perverts I’ve got some awesome shots of her killer ass as she walks into the doctor’s office. Unreal. I would like to do a little oral surgery of my own on that thing. Too much?

‘Lost’ Stars: What’s Next?

Evangeline Lilly has a project lined up, while Josh Holloway takes a more relaxed approach to his post-‘Lost’ career. By Josh Wigler Jorge Garcia, Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly on the penultimate episode of “Lost” Photo: ABC After six seasons of action-packed adventure and routinely confounding mysteries, the story of “Lost” is over — no more Jack, no more Sawyer, no more anybody. But just because the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 are no longer gracing the television screen week in and week out doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the actors who play them. Fans are already used to seeing former “Lost” actors in other places. Elizabeth Mitchell is the star of “V,” for example, while Ian Somerhalder is one of three crucial characters on “The Vampire Diaries.” Soon, viewers will have all-new avenues to enjoy the work of their other favorite “Lost” actors too. Take Evangeline Lilly, for instance. The actress, who played fugitive Kate Austen on the series, has gone on the record with her intentions to take a break from acting after “Lost.” But Lilly, who previously held a small role in “The Hurt Locker” as Jeremy Renner’s wife, already has her first post-“Lost” gig lined up in the form of “Real Steel,” a futuristic boxing drama starring Hugh Jackman and fellow “Lost” alumnus Kevin Durand. Daniel Dae Kim, meanwhile, is not only staying on television, he’s also staying in Hawaii. The former Jin-Soo Kwon becomes Chin Ho Kelly next fall in CBS’ remake of “Hawaii Five-O.” Kim stars opposite Grace Park, an actress who knows a thing or two about ending a fan-favorite series in the form of “Battlestar Galactica.” Sarcastic pilot Frank Lapidus’ real-life counterpart, Jeff Fahey, has plans of his own too. He’s part of an all-star cast, including Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro, in “Machete,” based on a fictional trailer created for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse.” For some actors, the future is a bit unclear. Matthew Fox has long been attached to the comic book adaptation “Billy Smoke,” though a full year has elapsed since the latest major update on that project. Likewise, actor Nestor Carbonell is often mentioned for the role of Khan in the developing “Star Trek” sequel, though the rumor remains unconfirmed. Many “Lost” vets are taking things a bit easier. Josh Holloway and Jorge Garcia, for instance, have no immediate plans beyond returning to Los Angeles to find new work. Michael Emerson, meanwhile, is hoping to return to his roots as a stage actor. But if Terry O’Quinn has his way, it won’t be long before Ben and Locke reunite on the small screen. O’Quinn, who surprised audiences with his turn as the villainous smoke monster in the final season of “Lost,” has reportedly pitched producers on a television series starring himself and Emerson as two middle-aged hit men getting by in suburbia — a show that would certainly help struggling “Lost” fans through major bouts of withdrawal. Megan Fox Post-‘Transformers’: What’s Next?

After leaving ‘Transformers 3’ behind, upcoming roles for the actress include ‘Jonah Hex,’ ‘Passion Play’ and more. By Josh Wigler Megan Fox in a poster for “Jonah Hex” Photo: Warner Bros. There are conflicting reports regarding exactly why “Transformers 3” will proceed without Megan Fox in the passenger seat, with some indicating that Fox was dropped from the picture , while representatives for the actress insist that “it was her decision not to return.” Regardless of the reason, Fox is out of the picture — no more Mikaela Banes for Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky. But even with the “Transformers” franchise out of her life, Fox still has plenty of work in the pipeline. From high-profile action flicks to lower-budget indie fare and even a few rumored projects, the 24-year-old actress won’t be wanting for work now that her Michael Bay days are behind her. Fox is heading back to the big screen sooner than you might realize with next month’s “Jonah Hex,” director Jimmy Hayward’s adaptation of the DC Comics series about a scarred gunslinger (Josh Brolin) seeking vengeance on the man who killed his family. Fox plays Leila, a gun-toting prostitute and confidant of Brolin’s Hex who finds herself entangled in the Civil War veteran’s quest for revenge. “Jonah Hex” hits theaters on June 18. Additionally, Fox has already finished filming a considerably smaller-scale project called “Passion Play,” written and directed by “Scrooged” screenwriter Mitch Glazer. Fox stars as Lily, a caged circus freak with angelic wings growing from her back. A troubled trumpet player (Mickey Rourke) saves Lily from the clutches of gangster Happy Shannon (Bill Murray), provoking a relationship Fox described to MTV News as “clearly not going to be a typical [love story].” The actress is attached to other projects as well, including “The Crossing,” a thriller from writers Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi. Fox will star as part of a couple returning from a vacation in Mexico when their car is jacked and her husband is kidnapped. Fox’s character is subsequently forced to smuggle heroin across the border in order to save her husband’s life. Perhaps the film with the most personal investment for Fox is “Fathom,” based on the Aspen Comics series created by the late Michael Turner. The story focuses on Aspen Matthews, a marine biology graduate who unknowingly comes from a race of humanoid ocean dwellers known as the Blue. Fox has repeatedly stated that she’s a lifelong fan of “Fathom,” telling MTV News: “I want someone who loves her and loves the comic to play her. … I was sort of fiercely protective of it, because I didn’t want it played by someone who doesn’t give a sh– about it.” Beyond her actual commitments and attachments, Fox has been rumored for a wide variety of other movies including “Red Sonja,” a comic book adaptation about a fierce female warrior. The project was previously developed by Robert Rodriguez with Rose McGowan in the title role, though recent reports suggested Fox would take over the role. The actress’s representatives have denied her involvement with the project . ‘Iron Man 2’ Director Jon Favreau Wants The Mandarin For Third Movie

‘I’m curious to see how they handle all that stuff,’ Favreau says of Marvel Studios’ other superhero characters. By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jon Favreau Photo: MTV News Every great franchise deserves to be a trilogy — if not for the fans, then perhaps for the director who might appreciate a few extra hours to fully flesh out his tale. Nowadays, Jon Favreau is getting ready to unleash his second “Iron Man” movie on the world — and he readily admits that the idea of a trilogy appeals to him. “It does. I would like to [do another film],” he explained, before admitting that the biggest obstacle may be one unlike any director before him has ever had to deal with: a backlog of superhero movies from his studio that will be twisting, changing and growing his characters with minimal input from Favreau over the next few years. ” ‘Iron Man 3,’ to pay it off, there’s so much left to understand about what the world is going to be like then,” the filmmaker reasoned. “You’ve got ‘Thor,’ ‘Captain America,’ ‘Avengers’ all happening with different directors before ‘Iron Man 3,’ and that’s all going to affect ‘Iron Man 3.’ ” With each of those Avengers heroes receiving their own films between now and 2012, Tony Stark will be glimpsed as a secondary player, if at all. And it won’t be until after “The Avengers” that Marvel Studios will be willing to revisit the character. “And what’s going to have happened by then?” Favreau asked, not knowing the answer himself. “With ‘Thor,’ you’re going to have all this supernatural stuff happening, and magic. There’s a lot of stuff going on in the world; if it’s going to match the comic book, it’s going to be incredibly complex for a film. I’m curious to see how they handle all that stuff.” Much like Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, Favreau has built a franchise based on heightened reality. Yeah, you and I may not be able to build flying suits, lightning-whip weapons or repulsor-beam weaponry, but it seems more reasonable than superheroic men leaping tall buildings in a single bound. Favreau revealed that he has firm plans about who his desired “Iron Man 3” villain would be — and if the next few Marvel films develop as he hopes they do, perhaps supernatural elements will seem more reasonable in a few years. “You’ve got to do the Mandarin ,” Favreau said of the next “Iron Man” baddie, a martial-arts expert who has superhuman powers that can tear apart Iron Man’s suit with his bare hands. “The problem with the Mandarin is that the way it’s depicted in the comic books, you don’t want to see that. “He has 10 magical rings — that just doesn’t feel right for our [franchise],” the director reasoned. “So it’s either tech-based, or the rings are not really rings. But maybe with Thor and all those others, you’ll introduce magic to that world and it won’t seem so out of place.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Iron Man 2.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com .
