Ever since Caitlyn Jenner revealed herself on the cover of Vanity Fair this afternoon, we’ve expected an outpouring of support from her loved ones. And, to their credit, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian and company have all weighed in with the utmost respect and admiration for the woman they are sort of just meeting for the first time. But an unexpected celebrity has now also made his voice heard on Jenner and the significant step she has taken: President Barack Obama. Having only recently joined Twitter, the President used that platform this evening to send a very positive message Caitlyn’s way, writing: “It takes courage to share your story. Your story matters in the fight for LGBT rights.” Having the Commander-in-Chief actually acknowledge a gender transformation in such a way in a major step for the LGBT community. Caitlyn Jenner, meanwhile, is already on Twitter herself. Girl Tries To Kill Mom With Bleach Over iPhone A 12-year-old Colorado girl is accused of attempting to kill her mother with bleach after the woman took away her phone. Via HuffPo reports: The girl, whose name has not been released, allegedly tried to poison her mother’s drink with the cleaning fluid two different times, ABC News reports. The first time, on March 2, the woman felt ill after drinking a smoothie and smelled some bleach in the glass, but chalked it up to the girl failing to clean the glass correctly. The second time she smelled bleach in her beverage, on March 6, the mom “confronted her daughter and her daughter told her that she was trying to kill her for taking her iPhone,” Boulder County Commander Heidi Prentup told KDVR. The sheriff’s office began an investigation after the mother checked into the hospital on March 6, and the daughter was arrested March 20. The mother’s health is not in danger. The girl was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and is in custody at the Boulder County juvenile center. WTF?!!?!?
Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson said in a new interview with Larry King that he is not the judge when it comes to others, specifically gay people, only God. “I’m not the judge,” Willie said when King asked whether he thought being gay or lesbian was a choice. “Larry, I’m trying to figure that out right now, I really am.” “God’s going to be the judge, so it’s not my job to convince people to change their lives,” the Duck Commander CEO added. “If I just introduce them to Jesus, He’ll do that.” Willie also explained that he did not necessarily agree with the infamous Phil Robertson GQ interview last winter that triggered a national controversy. The younger Robertson’s sentiment follow those he made in March, when he diplomatically said that people have to read the Bible and make up their own minds. “You have to decide and God will ultimately decide that,” he said. “We don’t profess to be God,” Willie added of his family, “and we certainly don’t profess to be perfect at all because we have our own sins that we deal with.” Phil’s interview with GQ set off a firestorm when he stated that homosexual sex was “just not logical” and led to his temporary suspension from Duck Dynasty . “That’s just me,” the Robertson patriarch said. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying?” “Hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical. Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine. Don’t deceive yourself … it’s just not right.” Willie won’t throw his dad under the bus, but told King: “Some of the things he said in that interview, I didn’t agree with … I’ve even said so. We love everybody … In this business, there are a lot of people who are gay.” That there are, and while there’s little doubt where Willie stands in his personal beliefs, he certainly puts forth a more measured approach than his father. Sadie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame is going Dancing With the Stars, according to a reports, as the show seeks younger, fresher celebrity star power. The 17-year-old daughter of Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson and wife Korie Robertson will be a contestant on the upcoming season September 15. Korie hinted this spring that this might have been in the works, saying, “I think our kids are really natural in front of the camera and they have fun with it.” Sadie Robertson, who also designed her own line of prom dresses, “wants to maybe be on a talk show … she wants to be on Dancing with the Stars! ” The teenager has also performed a duet with country superstar Allison Kraus, and co-hosts YouTube series called “The New Different” with Kolby Koloff. Above everything else in life, Sadie says, “Faith is obviously my number one priority and I think you need to put God at the top of everything you do.” The young Robertson joins competitors Janel Parrish, Lolo Jones, and Antonio Sabato Jr., along with Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman and/or Josh Murray. It’s never too early to heed the Call of Duty, is it? Although the next edition in this video game franchise doesn’t come out for six months, Activision launched the first official trailer duty for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare today. The company says this version will be the first Call of Duty game not set in the present, as it will focus on “battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved.” And it will also feature Kevin Spacey! All we know is that the Oscar will play a powerful politician of some kind – and that his voice is featured in the following extended promo.
