Emma Watson#39;s sartorial slip-up aside, the Brown University senior looked elegant as ever wearing a bespoke Ralph Lauren Collection column halter gown, which featured a pleated silk-georgette panel at the hip. Watson accessorized with Anita Ko earrings and Jennifer Fisher cuffs and carried a Jimmy Choo clutch. When she recently opened up her beauty bag, it included Commando Better Than Nothing panties. Watson#39;s “whoopsies” moment is just the latest in a long line of embarrassing events.
Rape is never okay, but it is especially sad when it happens to young children. Girls Raped By Congo Troops According to The Huffington Post Congolese troops fleeing the M23 rebels last November raped at least 97 women and 33 girls, some as young as 6, a U.N. report released Wednesday said. The U.S. Africa Command trained one of the units involved, Commando Battalion 391, in 2010 to be “a model for future reforms within the Congolese armed forces,” according to the AFRICOM web site. The U.N. report covered “mass rape, killings, and arbitrary executions and violations resulting from widespread looting,” U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky told reporters. A report by the U.N. Joint Human Rights Office says most of the rapes took place over Nov. 22-23 in the eastern Congo town of Minova. The report says that “One or two of the soldiers would leave with the looted goods and at least one would stand guard as the remaining (Congolese) soldiers raped women and girls in the house. Victims were threatened with death if they shouted; some were raped at gunpoint. Most victims were raped by more than one soldier.” “The victims included 33 girls aged between 6 and 17,” Nesirky said. During their occupation of Goma and Sake, “M23 combatants perpetrated serious violations of human law and gross human rights violations,” Nesirky said, including at least 59 cases of sexual violence. The mass rapes occurred in November, 2012, after the Congolese army was defeated by the M23 rebels who seized the provincial capital of Goma, in eastern Congo. The national army retreated in disorder. A small, dusty town on the shore of lake Kivu, Minova is home to several thousand people. For days, the Congolese army raped, killed and looted in anger and disarray after their defeat, before discipline could be re-established by army commanders. The report says 11 Congolese soldiers have been arrested by the Congolese military prosecutor’s office, “including two for murder, but only two for related cases of rape.” The other charges were not specified. The commanding officers and deputy commanding officers of the two main battalions suspected of committing these acts, as well as officers of eight other units, have been suspended, the U.N. said. Military magistrates from both North Kivu and South Kivu, U.N. peacekeeping and humanitarian agency staff traveled to Minova and surrounding villages from Feb. 6-13, and “military investigators took testimony from several hundred victims, including a large number of victims of sexual violence,” the report said. Roger Meece, head of the U.N. mission in Congo, said the investigation “should be pursed in an independent and credible manner.” “Those responsible for such crimes must know that they will be prosecuted,” U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said in a statement, calling the sexual violence outlined in the report “horrifying” in scale and systematic nature. The world can be a cruel place. Not only is Olivia Wilde open to appearing partially nude in movies — as she does in Cowboys & Aliens and the upcoming Change-Up , but she is totally down to talk about said partial nudity at length in interviews. Earlier this week, she admitted that her own exposed behind in the latter film was a surprise, even to her, and the other night on a special Jon Favreau-directed episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! , the actress told the host (and all of America) about the CGI movie magic involved in her topless Change-Up scene with Ryan Reynolds.

Juan-Carlos Cruz was the Food Network’s Calorie Commando . More recently, he allegedly hatched a plot to recruit homeless people as commandos to kill his wife. Santa Monica, Calif., police say Cruz was arrested and booked on suspicion of solicitation to commit murder. Cruz is currently being held on $5,000,000 bail. The homeless men say they were instructed to “cut [a] woman’s throat.” According to one of the men, Little Dave, Cruz said he wanted someone to do “dirty deeds done dirt cheap.” He says Cruz told him he’d give him “a grand.” Cruz then gave Little Dave a box which contained a box cutter, a disposable cell phone, gloves, a pocket watch and half of 10 $100 bills. Yup, torn in half. Juan-Carlos Cruz: Calorie Commando. Really bad henchman . Juan-Carlos promised to give him the other halves when the job was done, and Little Dave says Cruz showed him a picture of the other half of the money. Little Dave says he then told his friend Shane, who called Cruz on the phone and discussed the plan. They got a third dude, named Big Dave, involved too. Big Dave contacted Cruz, who met all three homeless men in Santa Monica. Cruz went over the plan, showed Big Dave a picture of the alleged female target. The target was later identified as Cruz’s wife. He told them he picked his wife up at a certain place each day, and wanted one of the homeless men to jump out as she got in her car and slit her throat. After being arrested for loitering, Big Dave blew the whistle on Cruz. Police got in touch with all three men and asked for their cooperation in busting Cruz. The men called Cruz and asked to meet with him again. Big Dave was wired and a cop was nearby videotaping the meeting, which was used to nab Cruz.
