Los Looking For Diddy To ‘Amplify’ His Career

‘Now it’s officially time to move forward,’ Baltimore MC tells MTV News of getting to work with Bad Boy Records. By Rob Markman Los Photo: MTV News Los had no idea that Diddy would be announcing his signing to Bad Boy with MTV News at the top of the month, but now that the cat is out of the bag, the Baltimore, Maryland, rap stand-out is excited to get to work. “He didn’t tell me that he was gonna say it. I think that he was just in the moment and he was just goin’ and it just kinda came out,” Los told MTV News on Tuesday. “I got the news at the same time other people got the news.” The The Crown Ain’t Safe MC officially signed his deal with Diddy’s storied label at the end of last year, but they had decided to save the announcement. The news broke a little earlier than Los expected, but he is hyped up nonetheless. “I was just excited about it. I was like, ‘Now it’s officially time to move forward, let’s get everything goin’,’ because we had been keeping low for a minute,” he said. This isn’t Los’ first go-round with Bad Boy, however. He auditioned for Puff’s “Making the Band 2” in 2002 and made it to the end of the competition, but wasn’t a part of the manufactured Da Band because he wouldn’t sign the necessary waivers. The truth is, Los wasn’t interested in being a part of a group, but he would go on to sign a solo deal with Diddy around 2005. The original Bad Boy deal went through a local independent label that Los was signed to, but after the owners of the label went through some legal trouble, Los was released from Bad Boy in 2008. Still, he and Combs maintained a connection. “He called me every day, every night; he called me,” Los said. “Man this guy don’t sleep; he would call me 2 in the morning, then text me 3 in the morning, text me 4, 5. I’m like, ‘Yo when is he getting rest?’ ” Diddy’s texts would pretty much mirror the motivational tweets he’s known to send. In the middle of the night, Los we get random messages like “Let’s make history” and “Let’s go!” It was that type of energy that the young MC craved. Eventually he decided that he would once again sign with Bad Boy. “It just reminded me of his brand and what it represents: no sleep, hard work, history, success,” Los said of the work ethic that has become synonymous with all things Diddy. “I decided to bring back to Puff, and I felt like no one could amplify my situation as much as he could anyway.” What do you think of Los’ decision to re-sign with Bad Boy? Rand Paul: Stop Trying to Marginalize Ron Paul!

Ron Paul’s son and campaign surrogate Rand Paul is making the media rounds, laying into his competition and challenging the notion that Paul is unelectable. The U.S. Senator from Kentucky says his dad, who claimed one of three tickets out of Iowa , has a lot of money to continue pursuing the Republican presidential nomination. He fears, however, the oft-repeated media theorem that Ron Paul can’t win will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. The “unelectable” argument is one he adamantly refutes. Specifically, Rand Paul took issue with Rick Santorum ‘s foreign policy in an interview with CNN, suggesting that he, not Paul, is the one out of the mainstream. The Bachelor Season Preview: Who IS SHE!?!?

The epic, four-minute trailer for the all-new season of The Bachelor that aired at the end of last night’s season premiere has to be seen to be believed. It has the feel of a big-budget film, not a reality show. Clearly, ABC ditched any pretense of love and ramped up the nudity, side plots and suspense. More power to them. Sure, Ben is a real nice guy who probably does want to marry his final rose recipient, but it’s ALL about the drama this year: The Bachelor Season Preview 2012 Straddling Ben, stripping buck naked in the ocean and openly taunting the competition, it seems safe to say Courtney’s the “bad girl” this winter. But who is the girl in red? Ben’s ex? Another familiar face? See our page dedicated to The Bachelor spoilers to find out (what we think is) the answer. And who is the woman in black? Is it the Black Widow herself?! Cloaked in mystery (and ridiculousness), she boards a chopper on what we presume is the finale, only to do “a 180” about saying yes to Ben Flajnik?! Share all your theories with us in the comments, and stay tuned all winter log as THG live blogs the scripted, contrived awesomeness of each episode.

Fabolous Will ‘Evolve’ On Loso’s Way 2

‘Musically, everything I do, I want to keep growing,’ rapper tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Fabolous Photo: MTV News Now that Fabolous has killed off his competition with Christmas mixtape There Is No Competition 3: Death Comes in 3s, the Brooklyn MC is fast at work on his sixth studio album, Loso’s Way 2. ” Loso’s Way 2 is a work-in-process. I put a lot in my mixtapes, but I definitely put a lot into my albums as well,” Fab told MTV News, referencing the DJ Drama-helmed TINC 3 and the upcoming album. “I know a lot of people like mixtape Fab, and albums, to me, you’re speaking to a broader audience sometimes. I take that at hand. I guess everybody doesn’t see that.” Since his rise in the late 1990s on DJ Clue’s street mixtapes, Fab has carved a niche as a witty lyricist, thanks to his clever punch lines and lyrics. It’s a style that he expertly employs on each of his mixtapes, but when the “Make Me Better” MC gets into album mode, he has a different focus. “With the album, I’m looking to evolve as well. Musically, everything I do, I want to keep growing,” he said. “I think people have seen my growth album to album. From Ghetto Fabolous to Street Dreams to Real Talk to From Nothin’ to Somethin’ to Loso’s Way, and now they will continue to see that with Loso’s Way 2. ” It wasn’t that Fab lacked substance in any of his previous works. On each of his LPs he included a vast array of topics, packaging party anthems, love songs and story rhymes. But while many of the top MCs like Eminem, Kanye West and at times Jay-Z began to open up about their personal lives, the largely private Loso remained so. Fab began to change things in 2009 when he released Loso’s Way. The #1 LP was anchored by Fabolous-style radio hits like “Throw It in the Bag” and “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere,” but the nimble-tongued MC also exhibited welcome artistic growth when he rapped about his love for his son Johan on the Marsha Ambrosius-assisted “Stay.” “It’s all a process for me; I’m in a different place,” he said. “My last album I was having my first son and now my son is almost 4 years old, so these are processes and you get to talk about those things. I will share them on the next album.” Since releasing “Stay,” Fab has seen much more of his personal life spill out into reality shows and the tabloids. His son’s mother, Emily Bustamante, is a star on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” and has been sharing tidbits of her and Fab’s relationship on the show. The rapper is not a fan. “It’s just not my cup of tea,” Fabolous told New York radio host Angie Martinez on her Hot 97 show earlier this month. “It’s one side of what’s going on. I don’t bash it, but I’m not really in support of it, either. I don’t think it depicts me the way I am. It just depicts a one-sided version of what’s going on.” Fab’s feelings about the show won’t deter him from opening up on Loso’s Way 2. “Children change a lot of stuff in your life,” he said to MTV News. “They change the way you look at things and do things. And I think the music will reflect that, too.” Are you looking forward to Loso’s Way 2 ? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Fabolous
