JWoww to Dispense Love Wisdom in New Book

If there’s one thing JWoww from Jersey Shore knows, it’s utterly trashy couture. If there’s a second thing JWoww knows … it’s taking human growth hormone. Okay, so she’s not really a romance expert at all. Nor did we assume she could read to be honest. But JWoww’s writing a book on love advice just the same! The MTV reality star, real name Jenni Farley, is coming out with The Rules According to JWoww in February. N.Y. Times Bestseller List , look the f*%k out. JWoww’s just-released book cover promises to reveal “secrets on landing a mint guy, staying fresh to death, and kicking the competition to the curb.” Sometimes literally. Just ask Sammi Giancola . Inspired by the 1995 self-help classic “The Rules: Time-Tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right,” Farley’s love lessons are unparalleled. Some tips: “Learn to spot a man whore a mile away,” “Rule No. 17, Bust his balls a little,” Rule No. 52, “Hair belongs on your head, nowhere else.” Profound. Too bad they didn’t help with Tom Lippolis, apparently. She should have made a rule about not allowing JWoww nude photos to get out.

Dancing With the Stars Judge: No More Palins, More Same-Sex Couples!

Between Bristol’s run to the finals and reports that her father, Todd, may be next, many people can’t get enough of the Palins on Dancing With the Stars. One judge on the show certainly can, though. “I think one Palin was enough,” Carrie Ann Inaba told E! News, responding to Todd Palin speculation. “I think we need to go on a Palin vacation for a bit.” Palins mean ratings, but that’s not enough to sway one judge. “Although it was such great media attention, I think it was too controversial,” Inaba explained . “I think people got confused about what they were rooting for” “Are you voting for dancing on the show or are you voting for a Party? I think it made it uncomfortable for a lot of people who just want to see dancing.” “I like to keep it simple. I think it diluted things.” As for other reports that DWTS will follow in its Israeli counterpart’s footsteps by including a same-sex couple in the competition – Portia de Rossi is said to be on executives’ wish list if the U.S. version goes that route – Inaba is all for it. “I want it to happen,” Inaba said. “Although I think we’ll have to work on some of the judging and the techniques of leading and stuff like that.” “Once we get passed all that, I think it could happen.” Do you think DWTS should quit the Palins, or ride that train for all its worth in the coming seasons? Should they lobby for Sarah herself? Should the show glorify teen pregnancy by bringing on Maci Bookout or Amber Portwood instead? Moreover, should there be a same-sex couple? Vote below :

Ann Ward Interviews: Shocked, Grateful over America’s Next Top Model Victory

Should Ann Ward have been crowned America’s Next Top Model ? Yes, according to a majority of THG readers who voted in this poll . But the 6’2″ beauty wasn’t nearly as confident heading into this week’s finale against Chelsey Hersley. In an interview with The New York Post yesterday, Ward said: “I really thought Chelsey was doing better. It’s still unbelievable that I was even a part of the competition. It just goes to show that even if you are different, you can turn those negatives into really unique positives to be proud of.” Amen, Ann. Watch the 19-year old talk about her victory at length in the following video: Ann Ward Interview

Dane Cook Sizes Up New-Release Rivals Kanye West, Justin Bieber, More

Comedian drops I Did My Best – Greatest Hits the same week as new albums from Nicki Minaj, Ke$ha and a load of other megastars. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Matt Elias Dane Cook Photo: Getty Images With all the hype surrounding MTV News’ musical Mega-Release Week — Bieber! Kanye! Nicki! Ke$ha! Jay-Z! MCR! — you might not be aware of yet another album hitting stores this week: Dane Cook’s I Did My Best – Greatest Hits. Lucky for us, the man behind the album stopped by our office to discuss his just-released comedic stylings, as well as his thoughts on the other big albums dropping this week. So why release a greatest-hits album? “I’ve been doing stand-up comedy 20 years altogether — ten years of recording tracks and club sets and arena sets,” Cook explained. “So I thought it would be a great way to close out the decade, a great ‘thank you’ to fans to say, ‘These are the high-water marks that we shared,’ remaster it, make it sound great. To new fans that are always discovering me saying, ‘Where do I start?,’ this is really the collection of what I think are the highlight moments,” he said. And for the die-hard fans out there who already have some of those greatest hits, he included a bunch of unreleased tracks on the album as well. “There’s something for everyone on there,” he assured us. Regarding his competition in the new-releases category, we asked Cook to share his thoughts on some of the big names. First up, Kanye West. “Never heard of him. What is he about?” Cook deadpanned. “Kan-J? Kanye? I’m just going to call him West. That’s great. I’ll definitely look him up.” With Nicki Minaj, Cook pretended that we were asking about something suggestive — “Oh, no, I’m thinking of a m

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finale: Jennifer Grey Bests Bristol Palin

Kyle Massey comes in second place in the surprise-filled season. By Kelley L. Carter Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough on “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday Photo: ABC Is it safe to say that Jennifer Grey had the time of her life during this season of “Dancing With the Stars”? Considering that she took home the top prize during Tuesday night’s (November 23) finale, that’s a resounding yes. Before the winner was announced, past contestants from this season were invited back to settle scores and dance one last go-round. One dance highlight of the night was Rick Fox versus Kirk Warner — and the two played up their basketball and football backgrounds. Then the three finalists — Bristol Palin, Kyle Massey and Grey — came back to dance one last time before the big reveal. The moment that everyone has been waiting for came: The tension was thick, as viewers waited to find out whether Palin would nab a controversial win. Turns out, there was no need for all the controversy. Palin landed in third place but received a standing ovation from the crowd. “I have so many good memories in this competition,” Palin said. “It’s been a life-changing experience.” Palin smiled as she and her partner Mark Ballas watched a montage of their special moments throughout the season. Once Palin was eliminated, Grey and her partner Derek Hough being named the champions seemed like a foregone conclusion. The announcement was the first non-surprise of the season, considering that the actress had consistently been a front-runner in the dance competition. Grey, who had a flawless finale performance the night before, fought back tears while nodding in agreement when co-host Tom Bergeron mentioned that she didn’t think she’d be able to actually perform at the finale, given that she had a few injuries that were bothering her. Grey paraded and danced with the trophy before she and Hough were lifted in the air by their fellow contestants. Are you happy with the outcome? Share your thoughts in the comments! WaPo, ABC Pay for Poll Question on Bristol Palin’s Dancing Skills

It's fair game to discuss whether Bristol Palin arrived at the finals of ABC's Dancing with the Stars on talent alone (instead of being judged with

Bristol Palin Stays, Brandy Goes: ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Fans React

‘It’s not about talent, but a popularity contest,’ one MTV News commenter fumes. By Kara Warner Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy Photo: ABC With every season of “Dancing with the Stars,” there are early favorites and front-runners and at least one shocking elimination. On Tuesday night, viewers got their shocker of the season (or second shock, if you’re an Audrina Patridge fan) when consistent high-scorer Brandy was eliminated . “People vote and their voices count,” Brandy’s partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy said after the elimination was announced. “I don’t regret a second … of being on this season. It’s been an amazing journey.” “I don’t know how I feel right now,” Brandy said, crying. The reactions to Brandy’s departure have been coming in fast and furious since the announcement. Most commenters took issue with the fact that Brandy is gone and Bristol Palin remains in the competition. “Brandy is so talented and she worked so hard. I was shocked she was eliminated!” Sharon wrote. “I thought the competition was really between her and Jennifer Grey. Bristol [Palin] has improved but she should have been off the show weeks ago. That was painful to watch — very painful!” “It’s just a silly dance contest,” John wrote. “This is a network television [show’s] dream to make millions watch their shows!!! Create animosity and sparks and make people angry over the winner to get more people watching and calling. You know they’re making money from all those AT&T calls … plus the ratings are through the roof with this political angle they’ve cashed in on,” he said, referring to the outcry that supporters of former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin are keeping Bristol on the show. “Bristol is no star and has no talent and should not have been picked for the finals over Brandy,” commenter Marianne fumed. “Brandy did beautifully and got better each week. I can’t believe Bristol’s scores were more than Brandy’s. This show is a hoax! It’s not about talent, but a popularity contest. If Bristol wins, I’ll never watch this show again!” Other complaints brought up problems with the telephone voting system for Brandy’s phone line. They claimed they couldn’t get through until time ran out. Despite all the anti-Palin sentiments, a few folks came to her defense, however. “I can’t believe how mean you people are, always picking on Bristol,” Barbara wrote. “No, she is not the best dancer but she has progressed from a wall flower to being a confident young lady because of DWTS. She has become a ‘good’ dancer. It has taken a lot of courage to go on this show. At least 2 countries can vote and as many Democrats are eligible to vote as Republicans. How do you figure it’s just the state of Alaska and Republicans voting?? It also has to do with personality and improvement. Brandy is a great dancer but she is a whiner and Maks is arrogant! Jennifer is a beautiful dancer and she has improved greatly. Give Bristol a break!!!!” What do you think of the elimination? Will Palin get voted off next week? Share your thoughts in the comments! Peter Schiff — Purveyor of Libertarian Principles … When Convenient

For the past several years, we’ve heard the doom-and-gloom prognostications coming from perma-bear Peter Schiff: The Federal Reserve is the root of all evil. Inflation will be the United States’ undoing. Invest in gold and overseas because the American stock market is toast. Perhaps that’s a legitimate view, but Schiff argues a more libertarian approach to prevent these supposed calamities. He argues for a different way of handling monetary policy , less spending by the federal government and a rethinking of how regulation is handled . Yet, when a political campaign is waged in the halls of Congress by a partisan member against one of his competitors , he turns a blind-eye to the abuses of government power. “You know, I have my own gold company and it bothers me what they’re going to do,” Schiff said to CNBC’s “The Kudlow Report” fill-in host Michelle Caruso-Cabrera on the Sept. 24 broadcast. “I think that companies like, you know, like Goldline, you know that are basically marking up their gold coins 67 percent or whatever – it’s outrageous. I mean, most companies mark-up 2 or 3 percent, which is what I do. These type of companies give the whole industry a bad name. What I’m afraid of is we’re going to have a lot of regulation.” Caruso-Cabrera asked Schiff in these circumstances if it was a case of buyer beware. However, Schiff suggested it was fraudulent for coin companies to charge these prices for what by any measure of the law would be a legal transaction if a consumer chose to purchase coins from such a company. “If there’s fraud, it’s not buyer beware,” he continued. “But what I’m afraid of is I don’t want government regulating the coin industry so that people like me have to raise our prices to cover all the extra cost of regulation.” But assuming Schiff’s assumption were correct, wouldn’t he has a competitor be able to move in on the market and offer the same product for a lower price? Isn’t that how the free market operates? Schiff conceded that point, but complained he was getting beat because he couldn’t afford the advertising. “I mean, I think the free market should ferret out these companies that are grossly overcharging people who don’t know any better. You know, that’s the problem. People haven’t bought gold in so long and see how well it’s doing and get conned by these commercials that are all over television. But most gold companies like mine, we can’t afford to run commercials because we’re not charging that much.” Schiff makes regular appearances on all the cable news networks, with his firm’s logo Euro Pacific Capital on the backdrop and raised more than $3 million for his failed effort to win the Connecticut Republican U.S. Senate nomination. So is it fair to complain about his firm’s inability to market its products, if indeed they’re at lower prices than the competition’s products.
