Jewel and Ty Murray to File for Divorce

It’s all over for Jewel and Ty Murray. The singer and the rodeo star announced today that they are splitting after nearly six years of marriage. “My husband, friend and partner of 16 years and I have decided to get a divorce,” Jewel blogged this afternoon. “Ty and I have always tried to live the most authentic life possible, and we wanted our separation as husband and wife to be nothing less loving than the way we came together.” Jewel and Murray exchanged vows in the Bahamas in 2008 after dating for a decade. They have one child, son Kase Townes, who turns 3 next week. In a joint statement on the country artist’s official site, the pair affirmed its commitment to raising Kase together. “Our dedication to our son is unwavering and we are both committed to being the best partners in raising our son. Beyonce Hints That Jay Z Cheated on Her in Concert?

Rumors that Jay Z cheated on Beyonce have been circulating for months now, with no official response from either half of the power couple.  However, it now seems Queen Bey may have finally addressed the allegations during a recent concert. Beyonce: “Resentment” That’s Bey performing during a stop on her and Jay’s On the Run tour . She’s singing an as-yet-unreleased song entitled “Resentment” that tells the tale of a woman who’s been cheated on. Observant fans noticed that Bey changed the lyrics at certain points, possibly to more accurately reflect her own situation: At the 2:27 mark in the above video, a line that originally read, “I’ll always remember feeling like I was no good/Like I couldn’t do it for you like your mistress could,” has been changed to: “I’ll always remember feeling like I was no good/Like I couldn’t do it for you like that wack bitch could.” Okay, so artists improvise and change lyrics to songs during live performances all the time. But it’s the changes that Bey made at the 3:25 mark that are really raising questions: The lines: “Been riding with you for six years…I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had half of me,” have been changed to: “Been riding with you for 12 years…I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she’s had half of me. She ain’t half of me. That bitch will never be me.” Yeah, she sounds pretty angry. We think you might have your 100th problem, Jay. 9 Concert Moments That Make Us Bow Down Before Queen Bey 1. Lily Tomlin Accuses Beyonce of “Selling Sex to Teeny-Boppers”

Lily Tomlin is on Team Bill O’Reilly. The Fox News host has slammed Beyonce on multiple occasions for being a bad role model , arguing that the artist is part of the teenage pregnancy problem because she sensationalizes sex in too much of her music. And Tomlin agrees. The 74-year-old actress was recently asked by Pride Source what she thought of Beyonce as a “modern-day feminist,” responding that she does like the singer… but has an issue with Beyonce “selling a lot of sex to teeny-boppers.” “She is a pretty popular woman and she’s married to a very powerful man,” Tomlin said. “But she’s still selling sex.” In one of his diatribes against Jay Z’s better half, O’Reilly said that Beyonce “doesn’t seem to care” that about 70 percent of pregnant young girls in the African-American community are unmarried. He added that the idea of Beyonce “empowering” these impressionable youths through her songs and lewd music videos is “nonsense.” Tomlin didn’t get into such detail, admitting she isn’t even “terribly conversant” and adding: “She’s fantastically beautiful and dances, but, you know, it’s very suggestive. If I was a 10-year-old, I would try to emulate her like most 10-year-olds do” – and that could be problematic. What do you think? Does Beyonce set a poor example? Beyonce Labeled "Anti-Feminist Terrorist" by Oddly Named Book Scholar

Not everyone is excited about the  On the Run tour . During a panel discussion about “liberating the black female body” at the New School in New York City this week, famous literary scholar bell hooks (real name: Gloria Jean Watkins) made her feelings about Beyonce very clear. In response to a fellow panelist saying Beyonce served as an inspiration due to “owning her body and claiming that space,” hooks offered up a contrasting viewpoint. “I see a part of Beyonce that is, in fact, anti-feminist – that is a terrorist, especially in terms of the impact on young girls,” the Ain’t I a Woman? author said. “I actually feel like the major assault on feminism in our society has come from visual media and from television and videos.” Bill O’Reilly used different language recently, but made similar points regarding Beyonce. The Fox News host believes Beyonce is part of the teenage pregnancy problem and that she’s a terrible role model for young women due to her lewd music videos and racy song lyrics. Beyonce, of course, covers the Time 100 cover and is considered one of the world’s most influential people by that publication. But hooks wonders if the fascination with Beyonce doesn’t boil down to one word: MONEY. She asks: “Would we be at all interested in Beyonce if she wasn’t so rich? Because I don’t think you can separate her class, power, and the wealth from people’s fascination with her, that here is a young black woman who is so incredibly wealthy.” The self-proclaimed feminist them concludes: “Let’s say if Beyonce was a homeless woman who looked the same way, or a poor, down-and-out woman who looked the same way – would people be enchanted by her? Or is it the combination of all of those things that are at the heart of imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist patriarchy?” Man. No one tell The Beygency about this. 9 Concert Moments That Make Us Bow Down Before Queen Bey 1.
