An attempt at a kind gesture turned very scary for Demi Lovato in Paraguay last night, as the singer was forced to leave the stage and put a halt to her concert when fans leaped up and tried to embrace her. The 19-year old initially tried to give fans a better seat, only for attendees to get carried away and actually jump on stage. Security intervened. Demi walked away. Order was restored and she eventually returned to finish the set. But it’s easy to imagine just how frightening it can be to see an influx of hyper strangers heading your way. Watch it all unfold now: Demi Lovato: Attacked in Paraguay! Earlier today, a series of Demi Lovato tour dates around the U.S. were unveiled. Demi Lovato was forced to stop her concert in Paraguay on Thursday after a concertgoer rushed the stage. Lovato had just allowed the audience to move closer — warning them to “be safe” — when one overly-enthusiastic fan ran up and gave the singer an awkward, unexpected hug. My name is Hailey, I’m 14 years old, I’m Canadian and I’m a huge belieber! December 21, 2011 was when Justin was in Toronto for his concert ‘Home for the Holidays’ at Massey Hall. I found out about him coming home about 2 weeks in advance, but I had no clue where he was going to be. About 2 weeks before I knew any of it, my best friend Maggie and I decided we would plan out what we will do to see him! By that, I mean we wrote down what we were going to do to get noticed, what would we say to him if we met him, how we will get tickets and so much more! We did a whole wack of stuff like the for about 2 weeks. Then on December 16 we found out that he was having a concert at Massey Hall and tickets were going on sale December 18! Short time notice! On the day the tickets went on sale, we stayed on the website for an hour with our mouse on the “Get Tickets” button. There it was, 1 minute until they went on sale, my heart was pounding so much! 3.2.1 TICKETS WERE ON SALE. We tried SO hard to get tickets on that website but we weren’t giving up. We stayed on for an hour trying to get tickets until it said, “All Sold Out”. We were devastated but we told each other to Never Give Up and to Stay Positive! We were still going to go and wait outside of Massey Hall and try to get tickets, until i get a Facebook chat from Maggie saying, ”MY MOM GOT TWO FRONT ROW TICKETS ON EBAY FOR $2000” I couldn’t believe it, but I did! It was REAL not a dream, I was crying so much from happiness. I was so thankful! Two days before the concert we got EVERYTHING ready! Then December 21 2012, was the day! We skipped school to get ready and to go earlier! We waited outside of Massey Hall and we saw all these girls crying with the saddest faces. We told them to stay positive because that’s what we did and look were we got! The concert stared and I was SO happy. I started crying as soon as he came out! After he was done playing guitar, I looked at his guitar pick and thought to myself, ‘what if he threw it and I caught it’, and guess what, he threw it and I got it! Later, during ‘Mistletoe’ he came near my side of the stage and he was really close. He put his hand out and I grabbed it for about 5 seconds. A little while after that Justin said to the crowd, “Does anyone have any songs they want me to sing?” and I rose my hand as quickly and as I could, he pointed at me and said “You” and I said, “Pray”. He’s like “Pray” and I’m like “Yea!” and he sang it. It was absolutely the best day of my life. I’m so thankful for for everything! Stay Positive like we did, and something good will come out, I promise. This isn’t a full on meeting him, but everyone has their own Bieber Experience and this was mine. -@xxTEAMBELIEBExx At 2:53 you can see Justin pick me when I asked him to sing PRAY! My name’s Katelen and I’ve never written anything like this before, so here it goes! I live in Perth, Australia and I’m nearly 14 years old. In late 2010 (December) Justin’s first Australian tour came on pre-sale and I knew I would never be able to afford tickets. So Mum and I entered all the competitions you can enter for tickets to his concerts, or even more; a meet and greet as well. Tickets kept on selling out so I’d cry, then they’d release more tickets so everything would be alright. I saw so, so, so, so many competition winners be announced from the radio stations, music t.v shows, newspapers and even social messaging sites (MSN). Everyday I got so jealous. On April 18th I got a mention from a girl on Twitter saying “Congrats on winning the Justin Bieber Competition”. I instantly got very excited and replied “Which one?” because I’d entered a lot of them. I logged onto my emails to find 2 emails from ninemsn – I cried. The first one was just a “Congratulations you won!”, the second one was from a Representative. Confirming my address and phone number as my phone had been turned off from being at school. Julia (The Representative) rang me and told me personally that I was going to meet my idol! I also had the choice to choice a friend; I chose my Mum. She was the one who helped all this happen after all. The morning of 7th of May was very hectic. My dad came around to get my brothers because mum and I wouldn’t be home until late. I was the only one home my mum had to take my brother to one of his competitive football games north of Perth. 12 o’clock wouldn’t come quick enough! 12 o’clock came and we arrived at Burswood Dome at approximately 2:30pm. Bought some merchandise, and mingled with the other beliebers. At 4:30 we had to meet Pat at the box office, and he gave us and about 100 more fans their wristbands. We walked through the stadium, and backstage to see Alfredo, Ryan, Dan and Kenny! Justin was waiting behind the black curtain and we had to go in groups of 4. We went in with 2 other random girls. At first I wasn’t going to stand next to stand next to Justin, I stood next to the other girl and my Mum was about to walk around to the other side when Kenny asked her “Is this your daughter ma’am?” So he moved the other girl around the other side so me, mum and Justin could stand next to each other! (I’m on the right of Justin, and My mum’s the one looking over). We then got escorted out into the stadium and waited there until all the meet and greets were over. Then we went to the main area. We could either go outside or stay in there and get to our seats first, we decided to stay inside as the lines were kilometres long. We were allowed to go to our seats first; it was empty! Then swarms of other girls entered and soon it eventually was full! The show started late, and Dash and Will; the opening act came on, Then DJ Tay James came on and DJ’ed for 15 minuted then it started!! I couldn’t contain my excitement! I swear Justin pointed at me during ‘U Smile’ and ‘Somebody To Love’ but it could’ve been someone next to, behind, or in front of me! At the end of the concert I had no voice, and my Mum couldn’t hear anything! We got home after midnight because of detours. That was My Bieber Experience! My name is Belen and I’m from Uruguay. I’ve always wanted to go to a Justin Bieber concert and I always said that when Justin came to Argentina I would go to his show. I saved money to get front row tickets, I saved for over 1 year. I was planning on going with a friend of mine that is a huge fan too. I became a member of BieberFever so I could buy pre-sale tickets and maybe try to win meets & greets, but when they announced when tickets would go on sale, my friend said she wouldn’t come with me, so I ended up with no tickets. I was honestly devastated, it was my dream to go to one of his concerts and I even had saved enough money to buy front row tickets. One day my friend (that was coming to the show with me but cancelled) called me and told me she was going to see Justin with her mother, she had family in Argentina and they had bought those 2 tickets. I couldnt believe it, she was going with her mum and I wasn’t going, I felt so betrayed. So I didn’t know I was going to his concert until a few days before the show! I saw that a company was selling tickets for the 2nd date in Argentina. They were expensive but I really wanted to get them, it was my chance! I asked my mum but again I didn’t have anyone to come with me. I asked my cousin (30 years old) and she said she would ask her boss. I had written a rap with a friend for Justin a few months before, so I decided I would record myself rapping it and send it to BieberFever to try to win meets & greets. My cousin called me and told me she would come with me to the show! I started crying, I called my dad to tell him to buy the tickets as soon as possible, I called my brothers, my mum my friends, everyone! The show was in less than a week! My parents book a hotel room (the cheapest of course, just for 1 night), the buquebus and the tickets. All of this 3 days before the show.. it was crazy! I then saw I had an email from BieberFever. I opened it and it said that I HAD WON MEETS & GREETS to meet Justin! The next day I woke up at 6am to take the ship to go to Argentina with my cousin. When we were waiting in line for the m&g, everyone was freaking out and crying before getting in, but I was relaxed. I couldn’t believe I was going to meet my idol in a few minutes. I then saw ALFREDO FLORES walking past us and everyone said hi but didn’t pay him much attention. I wanted to actually talk to him, so I waited for him to come back and I walked up to him and told him I was from Uruguay. I asked him for a picture he said of course. Then it was time. THERE HE WAS, MY IDOL, JUSTIN BIEBER, TOUCHING HIS HAIR AND LOOKING HOT. I hugged him and he kissed my cheek. I told him I had written a rap for him and he looked at me and said, “REALLY? THANK YOU SO MUCH”. I gave it to him and a letter I had written for him and he put it in his back pocket of his jeans. Kenny told us to look to the camera and smile (I was already smiling obviously) Then Justin told us, “THANK YOU SO MUCH, ENJOY THE SHOW!” I hugged him and we had to leave , as soon as I left the room I started shaking and crying. I couldn’t believe that had just happened. I waited ousite for the rest of the girls to finish and Alfredo was filming/taking pictures of me while I was crying . I hid my face cause it was embarrassing so he HUGGED me, he was so cute! The show was AMAZING, Justin killed it! To conclude, October 13th 2011 was the best day of my life. “Like It Is” Host, Award-Winning Journalist Gil Noble Passes Away This is another huge loss of yet another legend this week. Gil Noble, the longtime host of WABC-TV’s groundbreaking public affairs program “Like It Is,” on which he interviewed such notables as Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali and Jesse Jackson, died Thursday at age 80. The television station announced the death of the Emmy Award-winning journalist, who had a debilitating stroke last summer, on its website. “Gil Noble’s life and work had a profound effect on our society and culture,” WABC-TV President and General Manager Dave Davis said. “His contributions are a part of history and will be remembered for years to come.” Noble, who was black, joined WABC-TV as a reporter in 1967 and anchored the station’s weekend newscasts the following year. Also in 1968, he became host of “Like It Is,” which focused on issues concerning African-Americans. He was equally as comfortable interviewing heads of state such as Mandela or Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe as he was interviewing entertainers such as Harry Belafonte and Bill Cosby or sports icons such as Ali or Arthur Ashe. Noble also created documentaries on luminaries such as W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and Charlie Parker. U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, a friend, said Noble’s legacy “will continue as a trailblazer for African-Americans in journalism.” “For over forty years he was perhaps the nation’s most important black journalist, bringing the struggle for civil rights and black equality into the homes of millions of Americans,” Rangel said. Noble was the recipient of seven Emmy awards and received a lifetime achievement award from the National Association of Black Journalists. He also received five honorary doctorates and was cited with more than 650 awards from various community groups. He had a passion for jazz and was a member of the board of directors of The Jazz Foundation of America. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and five children. Funeral services haven’t yet been announced. Condolences to the Noble family. We are mourning his death along with so many others, as we continue to celebrate his legacy! R.I.P. You might win some, but you just lost one… Lauryn Hill Bombs In South Africa, Fans Walk Out Though award-winning Lauryn Hill was a last-minute addition to the 13th Cape Town Jazz Festival after Jill Scott withdrew from the line-up, Capetonians and music lovers from all over the world at the festival on Saturday, despite reservations, remained psyched for her headlining set. Thousands of concertgoers packed the main stage, Kippies, and truth be told, Hill had the difficult task of following an energetic performance by Hugh Masekela with special guests Thandiswa Mazwai (Blankets and Wine alumni) and Zolani Mahola (Freshly Grounded), which left the crowd begging for more. The crowd roared in anticipation for the US songwriter and rapper Hill, hoping to listen to renditions of tracks from her critically acclaimed ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.’ Hill’s powerful live band and backup singers kicked off the set with impressive beats and intense electric guitar solos, which seemed promising. Dressed in a flowing purple and auburn silk skirt, brown turtle neck, black leather jacket and too many accessories too count, Hill belted out tracks that seemed less than familiar with the crowd – or perhaps, the crowd simply wasn’t feeling the revamped musical arrangements. Hill continued her set with multiple interruptions, alleging that sound problems prevented the crowd from “hearing her.” At one point, Hill even left the stage to speak to someone backstage. By the end of her 3rd track, disgruntled audience members began streaming out of the packed venue and headed to the other headlining acts on the 4 remaining stages. Die-hard fans left the concert and took to social media to express their disappointment. Is Lauryn just embarrassing herself now? Should she just call it a career and hang up her mic and her aesthetically challenged wardrobe?? Images via SusanLUCKYWong/Twitter Source More On Bossip! Due to the success of Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never and Glee: The 3D Concert Movie, it’s only a matter of time before it’s par for the course for a pop star to release a big-screen flick of their live show — with a little bit of their own backstory to boot.
