My name is Megan and these are my Bieber experiences. For the past 6 years I have done everything I possibly can to meet Justin. I spent the first 5 years going to his concerts, waited for him after shows, went everywhere I could just to see him. My first luck started when I won tickets to see him live at the VMAs 2 years ago. That day was incredible. I thought my luck ended there but it didn’t . Later that year, my sister and I scored tickets to the Ellen show the day he was there , we were SO close to him. We even got to go to the premiere after and see the movie. But still did not get to meet Justin. Weeks prior, we had bought tickets to see Never Say Never the movie at City Walk because we had heard Justin might show up and surprise fans. The next day we went to our movie, and he did. He came to thank us all but we still did not get to MEET him. All of these lucky moments with him made me more and more eager to meet him. I wanted just a picture or to say hi. I kept getting so close. One full year went by and it was not till May 16th 2012 my dream came true . Just that month Justin had moved into the neighborhood near me. I knew he would be living there but I did not ever expect to see him with how busy he is. While at dinner with my family, my sister and I noticed Justin’s van in the parking lot. We thought maybe he would be in Maggianos since him and Selena had gone there for dinner one time. We waited for 20 minutes outside because we did not want to disturb him if he was on a date. We finally saw him and his friend and bodyguard go walking into the book store right next door. We waited a little and then went up to him to ask for a picture. No one was really around to notice him because it was dark so we were so thankful we got the chance. It was late and im sure he wanted to go home, but he was really nice, took a picture with us and told us it was great meeting us . The next week I was at the commons studying for a final with my friends. That was the same day Justin had the altercation with the paparazzi. My friends and I were all there for the incident. We did not get to talk to Justin but we see him. However, we did talk to Selena during the incident. Although emotions were high and her and Justin were obviously upset about what had happened, she was so sweet and kept thanking us for helping . It really made me respect both her and the relationship they had . The picture ended up being taken by the paparazzi. And my last and final moment was July 30th, just 4 days after my birthday. I was waiting to meet my friend for lunch when i heard this girl say “I think it’s that Bieber kid”. I turned the corner to see him and Jazzy holding hands. I was on the phone but in shock. I smiled and said “Hi Justin.” I didnt want to bother him while he was with his family. He smiled and said hi and walked by. When he found out the sushi place was closed, he turned and walked past me again. At this point people started to notice him and one family took a picture with him. I was still standing there, in shock, and alone . He started to walk away when he noticed me and said, “ Oh did you want a picture too”. I panicked. He actually noticed me . I felt horrible because it was his day to relax but I said, “If it’s too much to ask then yes” . He said it was not a problem and he took my phone and flipped the camera towards us. He spent a good minute finding the right angle so the picture wasnt over and under exposed and you could see us just right. That actually meant a lot because he wanted to make sure our picture turned out just right . I never in the world, thought I would ever get to meet him. It took 6 years of being a fan, 5 years of waiting, and 1 year of luck. If you have not met him dont worry, I promise you will have your chance one day. Never say never. Thanks for reading my story. ‘X Factor’ judge talks breakups and goes ‘old school’ on the latest stop of her summer tour. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato performs at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on Friday Photo: HOLMDEL, NEW JERSEY — Not even rain showers could scare away the Lovatics who crowded the PNC Bank Arts Center to catch the latest stop on Demi Lovato ‘s summer tour Friday night. The star, who’s fitting in the trek between her judging duties on the “X Factor,” brought out some of New Jersey’s most devoted Demi fans. The star swaggered out to a killer guitar riff before busting out the night’s first song, “All Night Long.” She shimmied all night in red shorts, a black-and-white blazer and a sheer top, never once stumbling in her sky-high platforms. She displayed her rock-star bravado when she teased and flirted with her band during tracks that were hardly audible over all the screams. “Thank you so much for coming,” she told the crowd, “You guys are amazing. Let me just tell you guys, I love being in Jersey. It is one of my favorite places. You guys are the rowdiest fans.” Several tracks in, Demi displayed her musicianship by strapping on an acoustic guitar for “Catch Me,” only to switch over to a yellow electric one mid-song, proving that a ’70s rock goddess lurks inside the 19-year-old. Soon though, it was time to slow it down and she showed off her R&B princess side for the Unbroken ballad, “My Love Is a Star,” her vocal pyrotechnics mirrored by the lightning and thunder taking place just feet away from where the singer was performing. “This next song is a pretty personal song for me,” she told the room. “How many of you guys have been through a breakup? As you all know I’ve been through a few. I’ve been there and I made it through. I love you and I’m always there for you.” She then launched into an emotional version of her track, “Fix a Heart.” The intense moment, in which Lovato looked as though she was struggling to hold back her emotions, was met with cheers. She followed it with her now famous cover of Lil Wayne’s “How To Love.” But, things didn’t stay slow for long. “Who’s That Boy” picked up the pace followed by “You’re My Only Shorty,” “Here We Go Again,” and “La La Land.” And then came the perfect time for her big (albeit fleeting) plug of the night when she reminded room, “Recently I’ve been working on a show ‘X Factor’ [and I get to sit] next to Britney Spears … I’m gonna slow it down a little bit. Basically I just want to see you guys,” she added, requesting that the room hold up a cell phone or glow-stick or lighter if “you’re old school.” The firefly effect only made the impact of her slow jam, “Lightweight,” more grand. Next she sat at the piano and said, “Before my concerts I get to do a meet-and-greet with some of my fans, and some are brave enough to share some of their stories,” however as she got personal a guitar fell and she joked, “Well there goes that moment. … You don’t realize I got through my issues and my problems [because of you guys].” That was the perfect set-up for her defining power ballad, “Skyscraper.” Then, in an interesting twist, she went into the cover of Chris Brown’s “Turn Up the Music.” And to wrap up the first act of the show she did her own tracks “Together” and her rock-tinged “Remember December.” She came back out for her encore to deafening screams where she kept the energy turned up to a big 10 thanks to her disco anthem “Unbroken” and her current single, “Give Your Heart a Break.” Lovato will be on the road through September 1, with her special guests Hot Chelle Rae. The tour wraps up just in time for the premiere of “X Factor” September 12. Related Videos ‘Demi Lovato: Stay Strong’ Demi Lovato’s Year In Review Related Artists Demi Lovato

Gaga’s tour promoters are negotiating with government officials for Jakarta concert to go forward despite threats from extremist groups. By John Mitchell Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Lady Gaga has responded to the increasingly volatile situation surrounding her “Born This Way” concert in Indonesia, saying on Twitter that she has been asked by authorities to censor her show and has received threats of violence from Islamic hardliners should it go on as planned. Earlier reports indicated that Gaga’s planned June 3 concert at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium had been canceled after Indonesian national police refused to issue a permit, citing objections from Islamic groups who worried that Gaga’s performance would corrupt the nation’s youth. However, Gaga’s tour promoters are currently negotiating with government officials and police for the concert to go forward as planned. “The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence,” Gaga tweeted Tuesday (May 22). “If the show does go on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWBall alone.” Fifty thousand tickets for the show have been sold. While Indonesia is a secular state governed as a multi-party representative democratic republic, it has the world’s largest population of Muslims, most of whom practice a moderate form of the religion. However, there are also more extremist fringe groups that have in recent years become increasingly vocal, particularly regarding Western entertainers visiting the country. Beyonc
Latest episode features a massive departure from the source material. By Josh Wigler Alfie Allen in “Game of Thrones” Photo: HBO See that beautiful platinum-blond princess across the way? That’s Daenerys Targaryen. Stay away from her. Everyone she loves dies or gets taken away — not ideal for those of you who value your lives. Honestly, as much as I’m loving this season, I’m not happy with where “Game of Thrones” is taking Dany. I’m an avid fan of George R.R. Martin’s source material but not a stickler or purist who believes his novels must be adapted to the letter. Still, the liberties taken with Dany in Qarth, this week in particular, feel needless and damaging to who the character is. We’ll get deeper into that later in our recap. Keep reading for more updates from Westeros, most of them blood-soaked and reeking of death — with one lovely exception. Bye-Bye, Whiskers Northerners, man. Those guys have a hard time hanging onto their heads, don’t they? Ser Rodrick is the latest to die on the chopping block, at the hands of the traitorous (not to mention embarrassingly weak) Theon Greyjoy, now fancying himself Lord of Winterfell and Prince of the Iron Islands. As we say goodbye to the sweetest whiskers in Westeros, Rodrick’s final words ring true: Theon really is truly lost now. But where Theon falls, his performer rises: Actor Alfie Allen continues to kill it as Theon this season. If you think you’ve seen him at his lowest after this week — well, keep watching. Gone With the Reeds With Winterfell sacked, Bran and his companions are left powerless … well, not entirely powerless. The crafty Osha sleeps with Theon and manages to sneak Bran, Rickon, Hodor and the direwolves out of House Stark’s royal seat as a result. It’s cool to see this story moving so quickly, but still, where are Jojen and Meera Reed? The greenseer and his sister are huge parts of Bran’s story at this point in the books, but with their continued absence and Osha’s increasing prominence, I’m beginning to think they’re out of the picture for good. Casualty of adaptation, I suppose, but a change I’m sorry to see. Ra Ra Riot The North isn’t the only area of Westeros under fire. In King’s Landing, the wicked Joffrey’s awful behavior nearly costs him his life when he incites a bloody riot that turns the streets red. He barely escapes with his life — though he thankfully doesn’t evade a physical shaming at Tyrion’s hands once again — as does Sansa, who is nearly raped by a trio of rioters. Her life is saved by the Hound, who finally gets his long-awaited Terminator moment when he guts one of the would-be rapists and kills the other two in equally merciless fashion. One of the best characters in the books, Sandor Clegane hasn’t had much to do on the show so far. Perhaps this is the beginning of bold new things for the most feared burn victim in the Seven Kingdoms. Kissed by Fire It wasn’t all doom and gloom on “Thrones” this week. Finally, Jon Snow has met his match in Ygritte, a wilding warrior woman who is more than prepared to meet her maker should the worst come to pass. Of course, she also values her life greatly and isn’t afraid to make some moves on Jon to keep herself safe. That’s not great news for Jon; as a man of the Night’s Watch, Lord Snow isn’t allowed to take women into his bed. Then again, he’s a teenager and, well, you know — hormones and all that. Perhaps what happens north of the Wall stays north of the Wall? Where Are My Dragons? All the way east in Qarth, Dany is unsuccessful in recruiting the city’s leaders to her cause to sail to Westeros and claim the Iron Throne. Worse, when the khaleesi returns to her quarters after her failed attempt to secure a fleet, she finds many members of her khalasar — beloved handmaiden Irri included — dead, with her dragons missing to boot. None of this happens in the books. I’m guessing it’s a dramatic new way to get Dany to the House of the Undying, where she’ll experience her fair share of life-altering events. But it’s an unnecessary departure that, A) kills even more of the characters in Dany’s story despite their survival in the books, further complicating the butterfly effect the show will have to deal with as it gets deeper into Martin’s mythology, and B) cheapens Dany’s character by stealing her dragons right out from under her. Just as she says, Dany is a strong and fierce fighter fueled by fire and blood. She is the mother of dragons. There is no world in which Dany’s dragons are taken from her without her losing her life in the process. I don’t like what the show’s decision to steal Dany’s dragons away from her says about the character, but maybe that’s just me. What say you, readers of “Ice and Fire”: Are you as bothered by the new changes to Dany’s story as I am, or are you not sweating it? Hit us up in the comments below and let us know! ‘Saturday Night Live,’ Dalai Lama, Thom Yorke and fun. also honor Beasties rapper MCA. By Gil Kaufman Michael ‘Mike D’ Diamond, Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz and Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch of The Beastie Boys Photo: WireImage Two days after losing his life-long friend and band mate of 30 years, Adam “MCA” Yauch , Beastie Boys rapper Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz posted a heartfelt note on the band’s Tumblr page about his late comrade. “As you can imagine, s— is just fkd up right now,” he wrote in the blog, which was accompanied by a picture of a hand with the message, “PWR 2 MCA” in front of a bank of CDs. “But I wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. I’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him.” Yauch, who died at age 47 on Friday after a three-year battle with cancer, was shouted out by many of his friends, admirers and acts he’d influenced over the weekend. Fun. threw in a verse of “Sabotage” as part of their encore at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club on Friday night and “Saturday Night Live” played a clip of the group’s 1994 performance of “Sure Shot” on the show featuring Rihanna as a musical guest. HBO dedicated the broadcast of last month’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony into its broadcast of the proceedings, where the B-Boys were inducted as only the third rap group to enter the the Hall. Among the luminaries weighing in was exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama, who released a statement in which he said, “Adam had helped us raise awareness on the plight of the Tibetan people by organizing various freedom Tibet concerts and he will be remembered by his holiness and the Tibetan people.” Yauch, a Buddhist who was behind the landmark all-star Tibetan Freedom concerts of the late 1990s, was blessed by the Dalai Lama last year. MTV News also took to the airwaves to express our appreciation for the influential artist with the one-hour special “Adam Yauch: Remembering a Beastie Boy,” during which we reflected on the legendary MC’s career and the indelible mark he made on music as a whole, as well as on society. Kim Gordon, former bassist for Sonic Youth, who were big supporters of the Tibetan Freedom shows, issued a statement to England’s New Musical Express , in which she praised Yauch’s lyrical abilities, “He told me once that he really liked the lyrics to [Sonic Youth’s] ‘Bull In The Heather’. It surprised me that he had even listened to it. It meant a lot to me that he went out of his way to tell me that, coming from such a great rapper and lyricist.” Another Tibetan Freedom supporter and performer, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke , posted a remembrance on the band’s website, in which he wrote, “I was very sad to hear the news of Adam Yauch’s death yesterday. We looked up to the Beastie Boys a lot when we were starting out and how they maintained artistic control making wicked records but still were on a major label, and the Tibetan Freedom Concerts they organized had a very big influence on me personally and the way Adam conducted himself and dealt with it all impressed me a lot. He was a mellow and v smart guy. May he rest in peace.” The tributes followed earlier ones from the likes of Madonna , the B-Boys’ longtime DJ, Mix Master Mike and Justin Timberlake as well as in-concert shout-outs from Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. ‘Adam was always into doing the craziest stuff,’ director Ric Menello tells MTV News of the late Beastie Boy. By Nadeska Alexis The Beastie Boys in 1987 Photo: Getty Images Adam Yauch leaves behind an impressive catalog of music and videos with his Beastie Boys brothers Ad-Rock and Mike D, but “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)” and “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” are, without a doubt, two of their most iconic releases. Ric Menello helmed the videos for both songs, with some help from co-director Adam Dubin, and looking back now, Menello tells MTV News, jokingly, “If I knew that people were going to be looking at them 26 years later, I would’ve done better!” While attending graduate school for film at NYU back in the ’80s, Menello befriended a young Adam Yauch, Ad-Rock and Mike D, who kept him company at his part-time job as a desk clerk, talking about movies and music into the wee hours of the morning. “I wrote the movie ‘Tougher Than Leather,’ which the Beastie Boys appeared in, then Rick Rubin suggested I would be a good director for ‘Fight for Your Right’ because I had new ideas and it was better to fail at a new idea than to succeed with a crappy old idea,” Menello explained. And although he was hesitant to take on the job, for fear of “ruining their careers,” he eventually enlisted the help of Adam Dubin to co-direct, adding that he “needed someone to blame if it stunk.” Once he accepted the job, they collectively brainstormed ideas and set to work. “We originally had an idea we couldn’t use, which was them disrupting a high-society, classy party at a gallery — because at that point, we didn’t know too many people who were classy or high-society,” he explained. “I came up with the plot, Rick Rubin and Adam added to it, and then Rick, Adam and I directed it. The Beastie Boys definitely had creative input, and I recall Adam being the ringleader. They were friendly, cooperative, enthusiastic and creative guys, especially Adam.” Menello admits that he never could’ve predicted how legendary the clip would become. “It was kind of a dumb video, but it was done in a very sophisticated way visually. I often say the style of the video is ‘stupidity done in an intelligent way,’ ” he said. “The concept was infantile rebellion, and they were good actors for that. It wouldn’t have worked if not for Yauch, Rock and Mike D being pretty good actors and being funny. The whole point was for it to be comical as well as musical. “Adam Yauch, at that point, was the ringleader — he had a very dry sense of humor, a little different than everyone else’s. He was also enthusiastic to do anything, which came in handy on that video and when we did ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn,’ ” Menello continued. “If something had to be done that was the least bit risky, he volunteered immediately. There was a television set that we had to smash with a sledgehammer and it was very important that it didn’t look like a fake TV, so we made a hole in the video tube, which meant that there might have been an explosion — but he didn’t care! He was like, ‘I’m gonna smash the TV!’ All throughout the video, he was like, ‘I gotta do it, it’s gonna be great, we have to have that shot!’ And he stepped right up to do it. He was always into doing the craziest stuff, but he was a keen guy, very smart and quick to learn, so it didn’t surprise me that a few years later, he started directing his own music videos.” The fun didn’t stop with ‘Fight for Your Right,’ though, as the boys teamed up with Menello once again for “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.” “My favorite moments in the ‘No Sleep Till Brooklyn’ video were when Yauch was called upon to be Bugs Bunny and he got the face just right for that. He also had to figure out how to open the safe they were robbing during the concert, and he figured out the best way to open up the safe was to slam his head on top of it. So he smacked his head on top of the safe and it opened, and I thought that was hysterically funny. Usually when people try to open a safe they use tools, but he said, an exact quote, ‘My generation smashes its head onto it. That’s what my generation does to open a safe.’ “Even when they were worried if something might not work, they always gave their all. We really helped make it work,” Menello added, as a final thought. “It didn’t surprise me when later, besides comedy and satire, their music became more complicated, and they got into social issues.” Share your memories of Adam on Twitter using the hashtag #RIPMCA. My name’s Katelen and I’ve never written anything like this before, so here it goes! I live in Perth, Australia and I’m nearly 14 years old. In late 2010 (December) Justin’s first Australian tour came on pre-sale and I knew I would never be able to afford tickets. So Mum and I entered all the competitions you can enter for tickets to his concerts, or even more; a meet and greet as well. Tickets kept on selling out so I’d cry, then they’d release more tickets so everything would be alright. I saw so, so, so, so many competition winners be announced from the radio stations, music t.v shows, newspapers and even social messaging sites (MSN). Everyday I got so jealous. On April 18th I got a mention from a girl on Twitter saying “Congrats on winning the Justin Bieber Competition”. I instantly got very excited and replied “Which one?” because I’d entered a lot of them. I logged onto my emails to find 2 emails from ninemsn – I cried. The first one was just a “Congratulations you won!”, the second one was from a Representative. Confirming my address and phone number as my phone had been turned off from being at school. Julia (The Representative) rang me and told me personally that I was going to meet my idol! I also had the choice to choice a friend; I chose my Mum. She was the one who helped all this happen after all. The morning of 7th of May was very hectic. My dad came around to get my brothers because mum and I wouldn’t be home until late. I was the only one home my mum had to take my brother to one of his competitive football games north of Perth. 12 o’clock wouldn’t come quick enough! 12 o’clock came and we arrived at Burswood Dome at approximately 2:30pm. Bought some merchandise, and mingled with the other beliebers. At 4:30 we had to meet Pat at the box office, and he gave us and about 100 more fans their wristbands. We walked through the stadium, and backstage to see Alfredo, Ryan, Dan and Kenny! Justin was waiting behind the black curtain and we had to go in groups of 4. We went in with 2 other random girls. At first I wasn’t going to stand next to stand next to Justin, I stood next to the other girl and my Mum was about to walk around to the other side when Kenny asked her “Is this your daughter ma’am?” So he moved the other girl around the other side so me, mum and Justin could stand next to each other! (I’m on the right of Justin, and My mum’s the one looking over). We then got escorted out into the stadium and waited there until all the meet and greets were over. Then we went to the main area. We could either go outside or stay in there and get to our seats first, we decided to stay inside as the lines were kilometres long. We were allowed to go to our seats first; it was empty! Then swarms of other girls entered and soon it eventually was full! The show started late, and Dash and Will; the opening act came on, Then DJ Tay James came on and DJ’ed for 15 minuted then it started!! I couldn’t contain my excitement! I swear Justin pointed at me during ‘U Smile’ and ‘Somebody To Love’ but it could’ve been someone next to, behind, or in front of me! At the end of the concert I had no voice, and my Mum couldn’t hear anything! We got home after midnight because of detours. That was My Bieber Experience! My name is Jess, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Pennsylvania. I’ve been a huge fan of Justin from the start. On Justin’s official Facebook page he would reply to people’s comments on his wall because he wasn’t as famous yet. So, I decided to write on his wall and see if he would answer. On July 5 th , 2009 he answered me. He said “its me…and go after your dreams.” AHHH!! On December 15 th , 2009 I finally got to meet Justin Bieber. My friends and I got VIP passes for Pop-Con. We got to meet Justin and Selena Gomez. I can’t even describe how excited I was. We waited for 3 hours in line to meet him. When it was finally my turn to get a picture with him I just froze! When I walked up to him he gave me a big hug and we took the picture. After he said, “Are you excited for the show?” I said… YEAH!! I was in shock. He gave me a hug goodbye and I left. I was so happy that I finally got to meet him, if only it lasted for more than 2 minutes! That night I stayed at a hotel across from the concert. Justin’s dancers and Dan Kanter were staying there and were in the lobby. My friends and I got pictures with all of them and talked to them. I saw Dan Kanter standing by himself so I walked up to him and we started talking. I asked him, “Do you wear that hat to all the concerts?” He laughed and said that he LOVES that hat. He was so friendly that we talked for a while. That was just the start of My Bieber Experience. I’ve seen Justin in concert 7 times. At Pop-Con, q102 Jingle Ball ’09, q102 Jingle Ball ’10, and 4 of his My World Tour concerts. In Trenton NJ, at the Wells Fargo Center, MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and in Allentown. At the Trenton NJ concert, I even met one of Justin’s dancers, Marvin Millora. I gave Marvin a CHUCK NORRIS poker chip to give Justin, because I know he LOVES Chuck. After the concert, I tweeted Marvin to see if Justin ever got the chip. And what do you know… He tweeted me back! Marvin said, “Yes he did actually.” I was so excited! I REALLY wanted to go to the Madison Square Garden concert because that is where he was shooting his movie! I begged my dad to get my sister and I tickets but he said it was too late. 2 days before the concert my dad told me he got us tickets! My sister and I sat in a box suite and watched the best concert of our lives! My friends and I got VIP tickets for the Allentown concert and sat in row 6. This was the closest I’ve ever sat at one of his concerts. At this concert we got to go to sound check and go to a lunch with Justin’s backup singers, Legacy, Jessica Jarrell and Vita Chambers! My friends and I talked to Micah, one of the singers, most of the time. He was SO nice!! After the concert, my friends and I went to the tour busses and hung out with the dancers, Legacy, Dan Kanter, Kenny, and Ryan Good. When I was talking with Dan, he said to me “You look so familiar,” I was freaking out inside because he must of remembered talking to me at the hotel. My sister was with us and she thought Nick Demoura was REALLY cute; they were talking for a while! All of a sudden she goes “I’m hungry,” Nick had food so he gave my sister a bite of what he was eating! I was cracking up. Justin’s crew is so welcoming and friendly. I was one of the lucky winners to win an autograph of Justin’s and a piece of the Never Say Never film! That was very special. I won’t say that my Bieber experience has officially ended because hopefully it never will. I hope to meet Justin and his crew again! -@jp_jbforeverr Original post: My name is Jess, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Pennsylvania….
