It was well-deserved! Lupita picked up the Best Supporting Actress Oscar while John Ridley got the Best Screenplay Adaptation and “12 Years A Slave” earned the biggest award of all. It’s a great moment for blacks in Hollyweird but some people are already complaining that they’re tired of slave films. Are the complaints valid or should we allow ourselves this moment to celebrate the achievements of a great film that documents a painful past? Rack, Rack City Bish… Tyga Hosts Grand Opening Of Last Kings Flagship Store Celebrities, media, influencers, family, friends and fans gathered at the Last Kings Flagship store on Melrose starting last Thursday as rapper Tyga celebrated his new apparel collection, Last Kings. The Rack City rapper’s fashion line aims to “mix luxury with affordable street wear,” according to his press release. Speaking of luxury, Tyga spared no expense when taking over the former Christian Audigier store location on Melrose Ave, dropping over $120k on authentic Egyptian decoration and customization fit for a pharaoh…including a custom-made tomb. Reports TMZ : Tyga doesn’t need drugs to get hieroglyphic … he just dropped $20,000 on an Egyptian-made tomb for his new L.A. store … and it’s pretty rad. Sources tell us, Tyga spent more than $120,000 decorating the newly-opened Melrose clothing store called Last Kings — the tomb was just a drop in the bucket. We’re told $100,000 went toward painting the place’s ceilings like the Sistine Chapel — and the remaining money went toward the tomb, as well as a bunch of other Egyptian-made Pharaoh-phernalia … like the black and gold guard statues … and sand. Yes, Tyga actually paid to import sand from Egypt … and his store is 10 miles from the beach. At least it looks cool. Check out what they mean: Tyga was recently listed by Forbes as the next moneymaking rapper to watch, but do you think all that extravagance was really necessary for a brand few people are yet familiar with? Either way, Tyga got a ton of support from his celeb friends for the store opening, with guests like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Wiz Khalifa, Rajon Rondo, Brittany Gastineau, Keke Palmer, Quincy and Lil Twist, Bow Wow, and NFL Star Desean Jackson all stopping by. Via Page Six reports : Nas, who’s had 13 Grammy nominations and no wins, says he doesn’t see it as an snub. “I like that the Grammys nominated me,” he said at the Paley Center for Media during a panel for VH1’s “The Tanning of America.” “I know the hugest platform for music is the Grammys, it matters . . . but something that huge is never gonna get it right. So it’s OK. It gives me the opportunity to wear a nice suit on a red carpet.” He also says, “As far as the state of rap music, it’s a lot of jingles . . . And that’s cool . . . I see a lot of young black kids making money, and I’m very happy with that.” LOL @ “it’s a lot of jingles”

Big news for Simon and his boo thang. Simon Cowell Welcomes Baby Boy Now that all the shadiness is out of the way…they can enjoy their bundle of joy. According to TMZ: Simon Cowell is officially a father … his pregnant GF Lauren Silverman has finally popped in NYC. 36-year-old Silverman just gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Eric after Simon’s father at Lenox Hill Hospital — after Simon flew across the ocean from London to be by her side for the delivery. As we reported, Lauren went into labor early this morning and Simon hopped on a plane as soon as he heard. The boy is 54-year-old Simon’s first child and Lauren’s second — she also has an 8-year-old son with her ex Andrew Silverman. Congrats again to the happy couple. WENN
