White folks have child support drama too! Clay Aiken Gets $90K In Child Support From Jaymes Foster Via RadarOnline reports: Clay Aiken is really hoping to win the Congressional seat in North Carolina this fall, and not just because he wants to serve his country. RadarOnline.com has learned that he could use the paycheck because the only other steady source of income the former American Idol contestant collects each month is the child support payment from his baby mama, Jaymes Foster, sister of mega record producer, David. Even though Jaymes has primary custody of her five-year-old-son with Aiken, Parker, “Clay is given a substantial amount of child support from her,” an insider revealed. “The basis for the child support payment — which is more than $7,500 a month — is that Jaymes is raising Parker in a very luxurious lifestyle, therefore, Clay needs to be able to maintain and provide that for his son also. So, mommy pays for that.” Now, “Jaymes is hoping that Clay wins his bid to become a Congressman so she could petition the Court to reduce his child support payments,” the source said. “Clay doesn’t have any other source of steady income besides his monthly child support from Jaymes.” Members of Congress are paid $174,000 annually and are given annual allowances to offset travel costs between their district, and Washington D.C. Though Aiken is homosexual, he and best friend James decided to have a son together back in 2008. Since then the two have been in and out of court in Los Angeles over custody issues involving their son. Aiken was runner-up to Ruben Studdard on American Idol in 2003, and recently won the Democratic primary for a North Carolina congressional seat. Foster had served as executive producer of Aiken’s last three albums for RCA, which didn’t create a lot of buzz. The source added, “Clay is very jealous of the success that Jaymes has accomplished in her career, and he wants to live the life of luxury, and not pay for it. There is absolutely no demand for Clay as a musician. He is always trying to get more money out of Jaymes. It’s just a sad situation.” Wow! Clay wouldn’t be the first politician with money issues and baby mama drama though…

Sure, Ellen Page came out as gay recently and has since heroically defended LGBT rights and helped make the world a safer, more comfortable place for young men and women who are questioning their sexuality, but clearly her biggest of late is taking her top off for Flare magazine! We kid. But seriously, Ellen clearly hit the gym hard for her role in X-Men Days of Future Past . She talks to Flare about reprising her role as Kitty Pryde in the highly anticipated summer film, but more importantly Ellen opens up about the challenges she faces as a gay woman working in Hollywood: “You hear things like, ‘People shouldn’t know about your life because you’re creating an illusion on-screen,” Ellen says. “But I don’t see other actresses going to great lengths to hide their heterosexuality. That’s an unfair double standard.” On struggling with her decision to come out, Ellen says, “I felt scared about people knowing. I felt awkward around gay people; I felt awkward about not being myself.” Since coming out, Ellen has eagerly embraced her role as a gay rights icon. Earlier this year Ellen’s response to anti-gay criticism on Twitter won her legions of new fans. Actor Matt Bomer came out as gay in February of 2012 and in his announcement, he expressed his gratitude to his boyfriend, Simon Halls. Very few were surprised by Bomer’s coming out as he made little effort to hide his relationship with Halls. The revelation Bomer made today, however, was quite unexpected: Turns out Matt and Simon have been married for three years! Bomer dropped that bombshell in an interview with Details magazine to promote his upcoming film The Normal Heart . No word yet on why Bomer downgraded his relationship status when he first came out while giving a speech at a charity event, but we’re guessing that it made for an awkward ride home. Matt and Simon were already raising three kids together at the time (six-year-old twins and an eight-year-old), so it probably wouldn’t have blown anyone’s mind if Matt flashed a ring, but for whatever reason, the actor held off. Bomer was an early favorite to play Christian Grey in the sure to be cringe-worthy film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey . He’s opted instead for prestige projects such as Heart , for which Bomer went McConaughey-method by dropping 40 pounds to portray an AIDS patient in the early days of the epidemic. We wish Matt the best of luck come awards season and we’d like to offer out (much) belated congrats on his marriage! 26 Celebrities Who Are Out and Proud Open Slideshow 1. Soon you may be able to blaze the green yah mean without getting busted. Lawmakers Could Approve Bill Decriminalizing Kush If this bill passes, people are going to be puffin’ piff on 420 like it’s going out of style. According to Raw Story: A recently passed D.C. bill decriminalizing sticky icky must now pass through a GOP-controlled committee before going into effect, allowing the public and politicians alike to light up without facing criminal charges. The bill, signed by D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray (D), now goes before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee headed by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA.), and the Government Operations sub-panel, led by Rep. John Mica (R-FL.), according to The Hill. Both panels will review the law when Congress returns from their two-week spring recess. Under the new law, smoking sticky icky in public would remain a jailable criminal offense, but carrying small amounts of the herb or smoking it in the privacy of a home would only be subject to a $25 fine with no criminal charges filed. Because of the unique nature of Washington D.C., Congressional approval is needed for the bill to go into effect. Under the rules governing the nation’s capitol, Congress is given 60 days to review – and possibly block – the proposal before it takes effect. Rejection of the bill would require action by both the House and Senate. Do you think the bill should be passed? Shutterstock Continue reading →

Someday, the following list will not be necessary. Someday, celebrities will not need to make any sort of official announcement regarding their sexuality because, quite simply, no one will care and society will be fully accepting of all orientations. But that day hasn’t arrived yet, for reasons explained so eloquently by Ellen Page when she came out as a lesbian on Friday: Perhaps these stars can make a difference. Maybe they can positively influence others struggling with their sexual identity, using their public platform to push for tolerance. So, with all that in mind, we join many in Hollywood in saluting Page and other famous folks who are very out and awfully proud: 24 Celebrities Who Are Out and Proud Open Slideshow 1. The petition to deport Justin Bieber back to Canada has garnered over 100,000 signatures, surpassing the threshold for official White House review (seriously). Actor Drake Bell and tens of thousands of fed-up citizens have signed an online petition to deport Justin Bieber on the government’s We The People site. Any petition that earns more than 100,000 signatures within 30 days qualifies for an administration review and response … no problems in this case. The Bieber petition already has more than 102,000 in just six days. Deport Justin Bieber! He didn’t mention it in his 2014 State of the Union address , but if there were any political issue President Obama and Congress can agree on, it’s probably this. The petition calls Justin Bieber a dangerous and reckless drug abuser who is “not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence.” Sounds about right. None of Bieber’s alleged crimes – even his DUI drag race adventure – would get the dude deported under current immigration law … but it’s worth a shot. His people might say Selena Gomez is a bad influence , but are there any petitions to deport that cute singer circulating around the Internet right now? Didn’t think so. In other Justin Bieber legal news that may actually have consequences, he is scheduled to be arraigned for the aforementioned joyride on February 14. Should Justin Bieber be deported? Yes, good riddance! No, I’d miss him so much! View Poll » Justin Bieber Police Report Open Slideshow 1. Justin Bieber Police Report, Page 1 Justin Bieber was arrested for DUI in January 2014. Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95, according to reports. Increased activity was noted around the Johannesburg home of South Africa’s first black president, who has been very ill, in the past 24 hours. Mandela’s death was confirmed just minutes ago. South African President Jacob Zuma announced Mandel’s passing, which marks the final chapter in a revolutionary life that changed South Africa forever. Zuma spoke about his predecessor on national TV. “Our nation has lost its greatest son, yet what made Nelson Mandela great was precisely what made him human,” Zuma said. “We saw in him what we seek in ourselves.” “In him, we saw so much of ourselves.” Family members had gathered after Mandela’s eldest daughter said the ailing icon was putting up a fight from what she nonetheless called his “deathbed.” Nelson Mandela spent nearly three months in the hospital with a lung infection earlier this year, but kept pressing on, as has always been his way. He had been receiving intensive home-based care since he was released in September, but his health slowly declined and he passed away today. Mandela’s journey and struggle remain one of the defining stories of the 20th Century. Trained as a lawyer, he became involved in politics after 1948. As South Africa moved into a system of racial apartheid, he initially spoke out and espousing non-violent protests with the African National Congress (ANC). However, he eventually founded a militant organization and was behind a bombing campaign in the early ’60s. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1962. Mandela’s imprisonment soon became an international cause, and was eventually released in 1990 after intervention by President F. W. de Klerk. A free man at last, he spearheaded South Africa’s transition from white-minority rule after that, marking the end of apartheid with the aid of de Klerk. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and was elected South Africa’s first black president in 1994. He stepped down after five years in office. Mandela is survived by his wife, Graca Machel, six children, and 17 grandchildren.
