Not Cool Bruh: DL Hughley Apologizes After Calling Columbus Short’s Estranged Wife A Thirsty Ho!

DL Hughley is finally being made to eat crow for his black woman hating ways . DL Hughley Apologizes For Calling Columbus Short’s Wife A Thirsty Ho On Radio Last week Hughley came under fire for comments he made on his radio show regarding Columbus Short’s ugly estrangement from wife Tanee McCall-Short . Here’s a rundown of what was said, via xoJane : “I think that broad shouldn’t be telling all his business if she gone take him to court,” said Hughley. He dismisses the concerns of his female co-host, Jasmine Sanders, to converse with male co-host Steve Wilson because he has “nuts.” As Wilson intermittently laughs in the background, Hughley stops just short of calling McCall-Short a liar whose friends posed as witnesses to her abuse. “I don’t think you believe half the isht you saying right now, Jasmine,” said Hughley as Wilson laughed. “This b***h was thirsty. The b****h was thirsty. What, she gone go back to dancing? She gone f**k her money up?” “I think that broad shouldn’t be telling all his business if she gone take him to court,” said Hughley. “When you’re very young, you’re very volatile,” Hughley said. “I’ve been in situations where the police were called. I don’t believe that every time someone says something in the heat of anger, they actually mean it. Everybody want a thug dude, a passionate dude, until you gotta live with your mother in an undisclosed location. You know what kind of dude you picked. Stop it.” Sanders chimed in and said, “I don’t think that’s always the case.” Hughley’s response? “Well, you’re dumb.” Whoa… Not that we thought anybody should ever pay DL much attention, but no wonder he’s apologizing now!!! In a statement posted on his website DL Hughley asked forgiveness for his comments: Last week during an after-show segment of my radio show, “The DL Hughley Show,” I unintentionally offended some people. In regards to Columbus Short’s legal issues, I jumped to a conclusion and blamed Tanee McCall-Short; and I’m sorry. My intent was not to quiet victims. When I did speak of the topic on air, I repeatedly emphasized then, and as I do now, that anyone who is convicted of domestic violence, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law; and that is what I believe. Today, as always, the phone lines to The DL Hughley Show will be open. We’ll address this topic with the DL Question of the Day and will discuss it throughout the show today from 3pm – 7pm ET. Do you think the apology is enough? Would you accept it? Hit the flip to see what he had to say for himself on the air today. WENN

Connecticut Judge Under Fire For Sending Transgender Girl To Adult Women’s Prison After She Attacked Guards And Inmates!

Belles with balls in cells with broads? Judge Criticized For Sending Transgender Girls To Adult Women’s Prison Via NYDailyNews An unusual decision to put a transgender girl at a Connecticut women’s prison is sparking a heated debate over how to handle a teenager called dangerous by the state but portrayed as vulnerable by her attorney. A judge sent the 16-year-old girl, identified as Jane Doe in court papers, to York Correctional Institution this month at the request of the Department of Children and Families. Authorities say state law allows judges to transfer custody of juvenile delinquents from the DCF to the Correction Department when they are deemed dangerous and cannot otherwise be safely held. Aaron Romano, the girl’s attorney, said putting her in an adult prison violated her rights and federal law; he wants her placed with a foster family and receiving treatment. He said she’s been kept in a cell 22 to 23 hours per day in a wing for mentally ill inmates. “There are prisoners who are screaming and banging and yelling all hours of the day, all hours of the night,” Romano said. “That is not the way that the constitution says that we treat our juvenile delinquent.” The case marks the first time a transgender juvenile has been transferred to the Connecticut Department of Correction, according to Romano and a Correction spokesman. It’s the second time in Connecticut that a judge has granted DCF permission to transfer custody to the Correction Department, Romano said. The girl was born male but identifies as female and has undergone hormone treatment, her attorney said. Sounds like a clusterf**k. DCF Commissioner Joette Katz said that although the law suggests that anatomy determines the placement, DCF worked intensively with prison officials to have her placed at the women’s prison. “I asked the Juvenile Court to transfer the youth to the adult system with great reluctance and sadness,” Katz wrote in an op-ed in The Hartford Courant. “It was the only acceptable option to ensure the safety of other youths for whom I am responsible. She has repeatedly, and over an extended period, assaulted girls and female staff members.” The latest physical assault left a staffer with a concussion, eye injury, bites and bruises, Katz said. The girl said in a statement released by her attorney that a prison guard watches her take a shower or use the bathroom. She said she’s been moved away from where women were constantly screaming and crying. “I keep telling myself that this is just a nightmare but it doesn’t end,” she wrote. “I know that I need to work on my issues and I want to work on my issues but this is not the place for that to happen. I am afraid of the women here and I don’t want to be around them. They yell comments to me and make fun of me when they see me.” She needs quit her b****hin’, grab her sack, and show those criminal beyotches who’s boss if she was so big and bad in the juvenile detention center. What do you think of the judges decision? Image via Shutterstock

Poor Thang: UConn Baller Shabazz Napier Says He Goes To Bed “Starving” After Winning NCAA Championship

Should student-athletes get paid? UConn Basketball Player Shabazz Napier Says He Goes To Bed Starving He’s one of the best basketball players in the country, and he led his team to victory in Monday night’s NCAA championshi p game. But the University of Connecticut’s Shabazz Napier recently told reporters he goes to bed “starving” because he can’t afford food, despite that UConn’s student-athlete guidelines include provisions for meal plans. Via CNN reports: The remark got the attention of state lawmakers in Connecticut, who are now exploring legislative ways to allow athletes at UConn, a state institution, to unionize — much like athletes are attempting at Northwestern University. Rep. Matthew Lesser said he and other state lawmakers are considering legislation. Unlike at Northwestern, a private institution governed by the National Labor Relations Board, Connecticut law governs whether employees at a public institution can unionize. “He says he’s going to bed hungry at a time when millions of dollars are being made off of him. It’s obscene,” Lesser said. “This isn’t a Connecticut problem. This is an NCAA problem, and I want to make sure we’re putting pressure on them to treat athletes well.” Napier recently called the Northwestern union ruling “kind of great” and said that although he appreciates his basketball scholarship, it doesn’t cover all of his expenses. So, should athletes be getting a cut of the millions that schools and the NCAA receive from big bowl games and championship tournaments? “I don’t feel student-athletes should get hundreds of thousands of dollars, but like I said, there are hungry nights that I go to bed and I’m starving,” he said. Asked whether he felt like an employee — a key distinction cited in the labor board’s Northwestern ruling — the Huskies point guard responded, “I just feel like a student-athlete, and sometimes, like I said, there’s hungry nights and I’m not able to eat and I still got to play up to my capabilities. … When you see your jersey getting sold — it may not have your last name on it — but when you see your jersey getting sold and things like that, you feel like you want something in return.” CNN’s calls to UConn’s athletic department were not immediately returned Monday, though the Huskies played the University of Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA men’s basketball finals in Arlington, Texas, that night. Connecticut won 60-54, fueled by a game MVP performance from Napier, who had 22 points, six rebounds and three assists. Many people argue that these athletes get a free education in return of their work. But is really a “free education?” These guys have to work more than 40 hours a week playing, traveling and practicing. Plus, they can’t work on the side to earn money due to NCAA rules. Should student-athletes be getting compensated for their work?

Piers Morgan Signs Off from CNN, Makes Final Gun Control Plea

Piers Morgan concluded his final broadcast of Piers Morgan Live on Friday by addressing a topic that has become synonymous with this British TV personality: Gun control. The anchor famously went off on a pro-gun panel after a Naval Yard shooting in September. And, even more famously following the tragedy in Newtown in December 2012, asked ” how many more kids have to die ?” before America adopts similar gun laws to those of other first world nations. Here’s a look at what Morgan had to say to wrap up his show last night: Piers Morgan Gun Control Plea And for those who are more visual, here is a transcript of the highlights: I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater, and then, just a few months later, 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, the absurd gun laws in this country would change. But nothing has happened. The gun lobby in America, led by the NRA, has bullied this nation’s politicians into cowardly, supine silence. Even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms. This is a shameful situation that has made me very angry. So angry, in fact, that some people have criticized me for being too loud, opinionated, even rude when I have debated the issue of guns. But I make no apologies for that. As Sir Winston Churchill said: ‘If you have an important point to make, don’t try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time – a tremendous whack.’ My point is simple: More guns doesn’t mean less crime, as the NRA repeatedly says. It means more gun violence, death and profits for the gun manufacturers. And to those who claim my gun control campaigning has been “anti-American,” the reverse is true. I am so pro-American that I want more of you to stay alive. But I’ve made my point. I’ve given it a tremendous whack. Now it’s down to you. It’s your country; these are your gun laws. And the senseless slaughter will only end when enough Americans stand together and cry: Enough! Do you agree with Morgan? Disagree? Oreos as Addictive as Cocaine, Study Finds

We all know Oreos are addictive, but a new study suggests that the cookies are as addicting as actual drugs … at least in the way the brain responds to them. The “pleasure center” of the brain, the nucleus accumbens, apparently gets just as activated in response to Oreos as it does to cocaine and morphine. Oreos: Addictive! That could certainly have some pretty major public health implications if Oreos were as damaging to one’s system as the aforementioned narcotics. They’re not, of course, and the study was only done in rats. However, the Connecticut College authors say it’s likely relevant to humans as well. It could explain, they say why people have such a hard time resisting eating an entire sleeve of the cookies after they’ve set out just to eat one. The study, to be presented at the Society for Neuroscience’s annual conference, also claims that rats, like humans, like to eat Oreo’s creamy center first. To test how the animals responded to Oreos vs. drugs, the team trained mice to navigate a maze. On one side, Oreos were provided. On the other? Rice cakes. As you’d guess, the rats were more likely to spend time on the Oreo side. Rats treated with morphine or cocaine rather than Oreos reacted similarly. They found that regardless of what “substance” the rats were offered (Oreos, coke, or morphine) they spent about the same time on the “drug” side. “Our research supports the theory that high-fat/high-sugar foods stimulate the brain in the same way that drugs do,” professor Joseph Schroeder said. “It may explain why some people can’t resist these foods,” he added, echoing a common refrain, “despite the fact that they know they are bad for them.” The research may thus bear some relevance to public health issues, namely the fact that high-calorie foods are often low-priced and highly addictive. And the fallout from poor eating behaviors can be as dramatic as that from drugs, said the authors, even if the risk of death from one usage is lower.

When The Checks Stop Coming In: Ex-MLB Star Dwight Gooden Evicted From Jersey Mansion

Dwight just can’t seem to catch a break. Dwight Gooden Evicted From Mansion These ballers make all this scrilla and don’t have two dimes to show for it. Jermaine Dupri and Dwight need to take the same money management class. According to TMZ More problems for Doc Gooden — the troubled ex-MLB star has just been evicted from the NJ mansion he was renting after allegedly stiffing his landlord for months … TMZ has learned. What makes the situation even sadder … Dwight’s estranged wife was living in the home with their 2 young kids — who were all forced to leave in July, when officials enforced the eviction. According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, Dwight and his family moved in to the home back in September 2011 … and agreed to pay $4,500 per month in rent. But things went south in March — when Dwight’s wife got a restraining order against the former NY Mets pitcher following a domestic dispute, forcing Doc to move out. The homeowners claim Doc’s family stayed in the home all of March, April, May and June — but they never got a check from the Goodens for any of those months … and that adds up to some serious debt. The homeowners filed legal docs against Gooden — demanding the back rent plus penalties, totaling more than $18,984 … AND they also want legal fees. The court also granted the landlord’s permission to evict the Goodens — and on July 11, Docs family was forced out of the home. It’s unclear where they’re living now. We reached out to Dwight’s people — so far, no word back. That’s what happens when these athletes try to ball out of control, but their pockets are lighter than a feather. It’s sad the wife and babies had to be put out on the street.
