Drake Says He’s Through With The Common Beef: Is He Taking The High Road Or Is He Being A Biggety Beeyotch?!

Drizzy don’t wanna catch a body like that…owwwwwwww Drake spoke to the good folks over at Nah Right and gave the scoop on Drake and his short feud with Common . Here’s what he had to say about that and a few other aspects of his career. So people want to know: will you respond to Common? No. Because despite how it’s been worded by him that situation is not a “hip hop moment” or a “battle for the sake of musical integrity”…it’s a ploy for attention around the release of an album. More than anything it was just disappointing cause what kid isn’t a fan of what Common has done for our genre. A guy who made such an incredible career for himself based off expressing genuine feelings about life and love is now targeting me for sharing my story. There’s a line from your “Stay Schemin” verse about Kobe’s soon to be ex-wife Vanessa that has gotten some negative attention. Can you speak to what you were trying to express with that line? That line came from a conversation about being this young and making this much money and the fear of losing it all. I just used his potential situation to address my own life. I never intended to offend Vanessa or anyone else. That line had everything to do with me and what goes on in my head as a 25 year old man with this much income flowing in. Kobe is and always will be a friend and an icon to me. Following the release of Take Care, rumors started to circulate that you had fired your entire staff, was there any truth to that? No my team is stronger than ever and ready for 2012. I’m excited for what this year will bring. So that’s the whole scoop. No diss to Vanessa. No firing of his staff. And no Common diss. Do you think he’s being the better man or he’s punking out of a battle he knows he won’t win? Sound off! More On Bossip! Which One Would You Wife? No Crossdressing While Crossing The Border: Canada Bans TRANS-Portation! If Your ID Says Ken, Barbie Can’t Board The Flight

Well ain’t that about a itchbay? Transgender people are not allowed to board flights in Canada! There is a disturbing new section in the Identity Screening Regulations used in airports throughout Canada. Simply put, Transgender People are Completely Banned From Boarding Airplanes in Canada. The offending section of the regulations reads: 5.2 (1) An air carrier shall not transport a passenger if … (c) the passenger does not appear to be of the gender indicated on the identification he or she presents; Although this obviously discriminatory smear of regulation did not come to significant public attention until very recently, it apparently came into effect on July 27th, 2011. It is important to note that these regulations are not actually a piece of legislation, which would have had to pass through readings and votes in the House and Senate (which is probably why it went unnoticed until now). Rather, the Identity Screening Regulations are a set of rules implemented unilaterally by the Ministry of Transportation, as part of Canada’s so-called Passenger Protect, which is essentially the Canadian Federal Government’s equivalent to the U.S.’s “no-fly” list. Minister of Transportation Denis Lebel is, of course, a federal Conservative MP appointed to the cabinet position by Stephen Harper. So what does this mean? Well, in order to change the ‘sex’ designation on a Canadian Passport, the federal government requires proof that surgery has taken place, or will take place within one year. So for non-operative transgender persons, for gender nonconforming (genderqueer) persons, and for the vast majority of pre-operative transsexual persons, it is literally impossible to obtain proper travel documentation marked with the sex designation which “matches” the gender identity in which they live. In the eyes of the honourable Minister of Transportation, that makes trans people unfit to fly in Canada. It is interesting to note that this regulatory adjustment occurred immediately following the federal election in 2011. In the previous parliament, Bill C-389, a bill to amend the Human Rights Code to explicitly enshrine protections against discrimination for transgender people, had successfully passed in the House of Commons, only to die on the Senate floor when Harper declared a Federal Election (thereby dissolving parliament). This is jacked up. Not that it’s okay for men to fly wearing nothing but women’s lingerie — but really is it that serious??? Like you can’t tell from the ID that it’s the same person? SMH. Not cool Canada. Not cool. Source More On Bossip! Which One Would You Wife? Sarah Palin Says Chris Christie Has "Panties in a Wad" Over Newt Gingrich Surge

Sarah Palin has a way with words. The 2008 V.P. nominee, who hasn’t formally endorsed Newt Gingrich but still told people to vote for Newt in South Carolina and is clearly glad he won Saturday’s primary, had some fun with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s reaction to Gingrich’s win. After Christie, a Romney supporter and surrogate, bashed Gingrich as an embarrassment to the Republican party, Palin stated, eloquently, that Chris just has his panties in a wad over his guy losing. Sarah’s words, not ours. Watch: Sarah Palin on Chris Christie

Jimmy Fallon Sued For Female Bias at Work

Jimmy Fallon is being accused of gender-based favoritism at work. Bu a guy. A fired staff member’s suing Jimmy and NBC Universal for discrimination. In a lawsuit, Paul Tarascio claims he was dropped from his position as first stage manager at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and replaced by a “totally incompetent woman.” Tarascio thus accuses Fallon of “gender bias.” Tarascio also alleges his replacement was “a less qualified woman” who constantly asked him how to do the job, and screwed up her stage manager duties. He claims other male staffers on the night owl program, such as audio technicians and a Prop-Master, were also replaced by women at Jimmy’s request. Tarascio says the director said “Jimmy just prefers to take direction from a woman and “knowingly fabricated alleged performance issues” about Tarascio. Tarascio is suing for punitive damages and lost wages. Calls to Jimmy’s rep and NBC Universal were not returned. It’s unclear if anyone still works there. [Photo: WENN.com]

Mitt Romney Stumped By Open-Ended Personal Question in Florida Debate

“Well, number one, I’ve raised a family,” Mitt Romney said during Monday night’s Florida GOP debate when asked what he’d done to further the conservative movement. “And I’ve – I’ve, with my wife, we’ve raised five wonderful sons, and we have 16 wonderful grandkids,” he awkwardly continued, before finally answering the question. He went on to mention his private sector and gubernatorial experience, but the reference to his family stuck, highlighting his inability to connect to many voters. It’s a problem evident in his defeat in South Carolina last week. He’s skilled at detailing the X’s and O’s of policy, but falls short in efforts to prove he’s authentic. Newt, meanwhile, talked about helping Barry Goldwater’s campaign in 1964 and later Ronald Reagan’s successful 1980 bid, as well as his own efforts as Speaker. The Gingrich campaign certainly reveled in Romney’s non-answer. Minutes after the debate, it sent an e-mail titled “Mitt Romney’s Top Conservative Achievements.” It was blank.

Jon Huntsman Drops Out Of Presidential Race

Former Obama ambassador failed to pick up momentum in race. By Gil Kaufman John Huntsman speaks during the 2012 New Hampshire primary Photo: Getty Images After a series of disappointing finishes and a failure to emerge from the pack, former Utah governor Jon Huntsman announced his withdrawal from the 2012 presidential race on Monday (January 16). Huntsman threw his support behind leading candidate Mitt Romney in a bid to unite a Republican party that is sorely divided over which candidate will take on President Obama in November. Huntsman served as ambassador to China in the Obama administration and was the sole voice of moderation amid a pack of White House contenders that have done their utmost to highlight their conservative bona fides. After skipping campaigning in Iowa
to focus all his energies on last week’s New Hampshire primary, he came in a distant third to Romney and Ron Paul. And though he put on a brave face and said his #3 finish in New Hampshire was a “ticket to ride” to the next contest in South Carolina on January 21, the reality of his anemic support base appears to have become clear to the man whose bid was launched on the promise of bringing civility back to the process. Almost from the start, Huntsman was unable to win over a Republican voting base that looked at his service in the current Democrat administration with scorn and blanched at his support on some social issues, including civil unions for gay couples. In a campaign that struggled to pull polling numbers out of the single digits for most of the past year, one of the bright spots for Huntsman was the media embrace of his music-loving daughters’
social-networking prowess. Sisters Mary Anne, 26, Abby, 25, and Liddy, 24, helped focus some attention on their dad’s often-overlooked campaign with their irreverent viral videos and tweets. . Speaking to MTV’s Power of 12 last week in New Hampshire, the Huntsman trio said the grueling campaign was a “family affair”
that they were really enjoying. “We call it a roller coaster: You never know which way the car is going to go,” said Abby on the eve of the Granite State contest when it looked like her dad’s poll numbers were finally inching up into the solid double digits. “We think [social media] is crucially important for this election cycle, especially for our younger generation, so we’ve kind of run with it,” added Liddy, referring to such now-infamous bits as a YouTube send-up of former candidate Herman Cain’s “smoking” commercial and a Justin Timberlake remake promoting their dad. Despite his pledge to endorse Romney, just last week Huntsman referred to the former Massachusetts governor as “unelectable.” With Huntsman — who, like Romney, was vying to be the nation’s first Mormon president — out of the race, leading candidate Romney is now facing off against Paul, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, former House speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Governor Rick Perry.
