GLOBAL POLITICAL AWAKENING: Young Boy strip searched by TSA

Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn't end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn't hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins. added by: GLOBALPOLITICAL

Jay-Z Talks Tupac, Beyonce During Charlie Rose Interview

Rapper chided veteran talk-show host for mispronouncing Tupac’s name. By Jayson Rodriguez Jay-Z Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images BROOKLYN — Jay-Z’s new book, “Decoded,” may be about translating the lyrics in his songs, but when the iconic MC sat down with talk-show host Charlie Rose, he promised to “decode” everything. Rose interviewed the rapper on Thursday before an audience at the Brooklyn Museum for a future episode of his PBS program, and the pair touched on much more than music. With Beyonc

How to Avoid Mistakes When Raising Green Kids

When you become a parent, you want to extend your eco-awareness to your kids so that they too can reap the benefits. Sure, you’ve chosen cloth diapers and are careful about recycling and packing nutritious, organic lunches, but what are you missing? Chances are some things you haven’t even thought of. Check out four of the most common mistakes parents make when trying to raise healthy, happy, green kids. 1. Hidden Chemicals Just because a product is labeled as natural or even organic does not mean that it is a healthy choice. In fact, many common seemingly healthy products aimed at kids are filled with harmful chemicals. Check out this amazing book, Excitotoxins: The Taste that Kills, to find out the truth about the dangers of common preservatives and food additives. What you’ll find is that there is concrete scientific evidence against common substances like MSG found in a variety of foods (not just Chinese food!!). These harmful additives are used as flavor enhancers and represent a billion-dollar-business. The problem is that they are also making us sick. The good news is that we can do something about this. Check the labels of foods and stay away from packaged foods that contain an abundance of chemicals. Also, be careful because seemingly harmless ingredients such as “enzymes,” “hydrolyzed vegetable protein,” “natural flavors” and “spices” are sometimes food additives in disguise! Two of the biggest culprits aimed right at our kids are Campbell Soups and Lunchables. 2. Toxic Toys and Clothes We live in a world where quantity is often chosen over quality — especially when it comes to our kids’ clothes and toys. Even the most environmentally aware parent can get caught up in a wave of seemingly never ending consumerism. Worse yet, parents often end up buying an abundance of toys and clothes for their children that are actually toxic and harmful to their health. In fact, according to the New York Daily News, dangerous levels of lead and hazardous chemicals continue to pop up in some popular children’s products like Barbie Bike Flair Accessory Kit and the Dora the Explorer Activity Tote. Also, conventional clothing can retain toxic chemicals that can cause rashes. So what is a parent to do? Check out wonderful websites like WildDill.com that offer a variety of clothes and toys that are safe, educational, high-quality and eco-friendly. 3. Over Juiced Sure, consuming some juice is OK for our kids' health, but nowadays over consumption of juice is becoming a real problem. So much so that even the American Academy of Pediatrics has issued a policy statement about “The Use and Misuse of Fruit Juice in Pediatrics.” According to the AAP, drinking too much juice can contribute to obesity, the development of cavities and gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea, excessive gas, bloating and abdominal pain. Also, NRP, a California environmental group, has found amounts of lead in bottled juice, juice boxes and packaged fruit that exceed federal limits for young children. And compounding this problem, juice boxes are often not recycled and end up littering our landfills. 4. Carbon Kid Print When is the last time you calculated your carbon kid print? Um….never? If you are like many parents who calculate their individual footprint and its impact on the environment, you might realize that you’ve never even included your kids in this equation – or started a conversation with them about how they can have a positive impact on the environment. Thankfully there is this wonderful website called ZeroFootPrint Kids Calculator that can help. The site consists of five easy to understand categories: Transportation, What You Eat, Home & School, What You Use, and What You Throw Away. After the amounts are entered, the site tallies the results in terms of carbon dioxide emitted per year. Plus, one of the best parts is that kids can see how their results compare to those in different countries such as Australia, Brazil and China. http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/news-harmful-mistakes-parents-make-when-rai… :+environmentalgraffiti+(Environmental+Graffiti) added by: treewolf39

Unedited Interview Reveals Bill O’Reilly Cut Best Of Jon Stewart’s Interview (Again)

Did you think that the conversation between Jon Stewart and Bill O’Reilly lacked “zazz”? For all the expectation of two of the heavyweights of opinion media world — ostensibly presenting differing ideological points of view — the jovial exchange lacked any real body blows to declare a “winner.” Well, thanks to the folks at Fox News, the entire unedited version of the interview is available, and it turns out that much of the un-aired portion includedthe most pointed commentary by Mr. Stewart, which we’ve summed up below. The edited version that aired on last night’s program, came out to just under 12 minutes of actual interview time (interrupted by a commercial break.) The unedited interview (embedded at link in two parts) rounded up to over 19 minutes. So what was cut out? Some of the most interesting parts to the interview, namely Stewart’s mocking of O’Reilly’s “folksiness” and blue collar perspective. More importantly, a fascinating back and forth over the Tea Party movement that Factor producers decided to leave on the cutting room floor. Unedited Interview @ link This isn't the first time Bill O'Reilly has heavily edited Jon Stewart's interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xobA2MoDzDY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLMQ2TIpfWk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzSxMdAxmC8 added by: Future_America

Krauthammer Smacks Down WaPo’s King Over Palin and Tea Party Agenda

Charles Krauthammer on Friday had a heated debate with the Washington Post’s Colby King over what the Tea Party stands for as well as who its leader is. As the panel on PBS’s “Inside Washington” discussed Delaware Republican senatorial nominee Christine O’Donnell’s surprising victory Tuesday, the conversation naturally gravitated towards the conservative movement reshaping the face of politics.   “They [the Tea Party] have a litmus test that goes into being right to life, social conservative issues that they’re strong on,” said King. Krauthammer pounced, “Look, I hate to say this, but I think that is completely wrong.” The battle was on (video follows with transcript and commentary):  COLBY KING, WASHINGTON POST: They [the Tea Party] have a litmus test that goes into being right to life, social conservative issues that they’re strong on. No, they would get rid of the IRS if they could. There is no room, there is no room for compromise because compromise is a bad word as far as they’re concerned. CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Look, I hate to say this, but I think that is completely wrong. The Tea Party has distinguished itself in being almost exclusively about governance, the reach of governance, taxation, economic issues. It is not the social conservatives. In fact, that is what distinguishes it. And I think the other element that is being missed here is it arose spontaneously as a reaction to an extremely aggressive, extremely ambitious left liberal administration that instead of, for example, attacking tax reform – which had it tried that at the beginning of its administration would have had bipartisan agreement and great success, as Reagan in ’86 – it decided it wants a reform of health care which nobody at the time thought was the major issue in the time of economic recession. KING: You just can’t rewrite the rules. I mean, Sarah Palin didn’t even come to the state of Maryland but endorsed the Republican opponent of Governor Ehrlich only on the basis of a checklist. KRAUTHAMMER: Palin is not Tea Party. She is not Tea Party the titular head or at all. KING: She is a major… KRAUTHAMMER: The Tea Party is a spontaneous, leaderless movement which is economic and not social conservative. KING: I get mail all the time from the Tea Party of Florida for example there, Tea Party spokesman from around the country, they, they exist as a unit. As readers can see, Krauthammer might think the Republican Party would have been better suited if Mike Castle won Tuesday evening, but he still is an outspoken conservative ready to smack down media members when they’re wrong. Despite many Tea Party supporters’ disappointment over his views on O’Donnell, America would be far better off with more straight-shooting commentators like Krauthammer.

Drake Says T.I.’s Legal Troubles An ‘Unfortunate Situation’

‘The man that he is, the trouble he gets into doesn’t reflect the person he is,’ T.I.’s friend and collaborator says. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Sway Calloway Drake Photo: MTV News There was one person conspicuous by his absence Sunday night during Drake ‘s performance of “Fancy” at the VMAs . Drizzy had special guests Swizz Beatz and Mary J. Blige join him onstage, but the other person who performs on the album version of he record, T.I., was not there. Tip has been dealing with matters more important than entertainment lately. T.I. was arrested for alleged drug possession in Los Angeles at the beginning of this month, and there is a chance that his probation could be revoked. While rehearsing for “Fancy” at the VMAs, Drake sat down and reflected on his friend’s circumstances. “I care about Tip a lot,” Drake said. “He’s held me down since the beginning. He’s always been extremely nice to me and embraced me. Before he went to prison, to this day, I still talk about the conversation he had with me about the game and trying to stay focused. “It hurt me the other day that somehow he found himself again in that kind of predicament. Especially with [the success of the movie] they just had out [‘Takers’]. It’s a personal thing. I’m not really here to say things about another man. Tip is a very smart man. I just think that, a part of me wishes he realized the power in the movement he has and what a legend he is and not get in trouble anymore. I just wish that wouldn’t happen. The man that he is, the trouble he gets into doesn’t reflect the person he is. He’s just a great individual. Yeah, it’s an unfortunate situation,” Drake continued. Related Artists Drake T.I.

Have Linkin Park Changed Too Much On ‘The Catalyst’? Fans Sound Off

Band’s supporters are split over whether new single and video are too much of a departure or a natural evolution. By James Montgomery Linkin Park on the set of “The Catalyst” music video Photo: Warner Bros. With its ominous tone and murky visuals, Linkin Park’s new video for “The Catalyst” is a far cry from the band’s previous, hyperkinetic clips. And, as bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell told MTV News earlier this month, that was sort of the point. “The Catalyst” was meant to shake things up and give fans fair warning that LP’s upcoming A Thousand Suns album is going to be a rather dramatic departure from anything they’ve done in the past. Of course, to most, that’s not exactly breaking news. After all, Linkin Park have basically spent the better part of a year touting the “grandiose insanity” of Suns, the album on which they “challenged” themselves to move beyond their n

Movieline Interview Flashback: Director Amir Bar-Lev On What You See (and What You Don’t) In The Tillman Story

Back at Sundance, I talked to director Amir Bar-Lev about his powerful documentary The Tillman Story, and now that the film is coming out in limited release, Movieline is republishing that very candid interview. Of particular note in this conversation? Bar-Lev’s excoriation of General Stanley McChrystal (a key figure involved with the Pat Tillman cover-up), who’s since been let go by President Obama following McChrystal’s unflattering comments about the administration in Rolling Stone.

Have you seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World?

YOU SHOULD, cause I did. It was freakin' fantastic. I saw it twice, just as I said I would. But the real reason for this conversation….. My question is where are the Conservative view points? Current was created to have a balance view. Where is that view? Name 15 who regularly post here? Oh…you so can't. You so can't. Why can't you? One Current bans those that think differently while allowing those that are vicious and attack others by stalking and ganging up mentality get 2, 3, 4 bannings for show but still are allowed back. Two, those that state they are tolerant bully and push and team up on those that don't think like them and those posters never come back because this place is hostile to anyone that thinks differently. I challenge you to actually point out who are the regular conservatives and what number do you come up with? Because I promise you it is dwarfed by the liberals that post here which is why the same crap and stupid thinking is always in the top ten because those that are part of the Current Gang make sure their views are seen, heard and BEATEN into those that don't agree's heads. Who are you? Are you someone that's actually tolerant? Do you actually care that a site that use to be about different views has now NARROWED it's focus so tightly it's become boring and predictable? added by: Unlie

The Real Housewives of D.C. Recap: Penile Volumetric Measuring Device for Sale!

On the second episode of The Real Housewives of D.C. , the stomachs of viewers turned Michaele Salahi celebrated a birthday and received lavish gifts from her husband. Such as what, you may ask? Our THG correspondent is here to provide that answer, as well as a humorous detailed review of the latest installment. Take it away… Tonight’s episode was a little slow. I think the most interesting character could be Ebong, Lynda’s tall, dark and mysterious younger (much, much younger) man. I hope we learn more about him in episodes to come. The most random moment of the show was when Stacie’s husband, Jason, took Ebong and Rich into Aunt Frances’ basement to tell them about his invention: “The Penile Volumetric Measuring Device.” WHAT?!!? He actually has a patent for it. Why?!?
