My family and I took a summer vacation to LA to visit my aunt, uncle, and two little cousins. A few days before we were getting ready to go home, my uncle told me that he had gotten free VIP passes to the Teen Choice Awards on the day before we were leaving for my mom, my aunt, and myself. I was so excited! There were tons of people I couldn’t believe I was going to meet. When we finally got to Universal City Walk, where the awards were being held, I headed straight to the red carpet to see if there was anybody there that I recognized. I saw Shay Mitchell, Raven Symone, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, and so many other cool people! I even got a picture with Alfredo Flores! Finally I saw Justin Bieber walking down the carpet, and he was nice enough to talk to every one of his fans. He came to me and my friend and said hi, then I went to hand my friend my camera so he could take a picture of the two of us, when Justin said, “Hold on! I’ll take the picture!” It was so nice of him to offer to do that. Has Christopher Nolan cleaned up the prologue’s soundtrack? Let’s discuss in The Weekly Rising . By Kevin P. Sullivan Tom Hardy as Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises” Photo: Warner Bros As highly anticipated as “The Dark Knight Rises” is, an unfortunate parenthetical has followed most praise of the six-minute prologue and the first theatrical trailer. Tom Hardy ‘s voice became the hot topic of Batman conversations as soon as critics saw the first minutes of the film, which focus heavily on the masked villain Bane. Fans complained, too, wishing they could comprehend more from a character they wanted to like so much, but almost every complaint came with a caveat tacked on: “I’m sure Nolan will fix it.” Then, at the height of discussion, an unnamed source “close to the movie” told The Hollywood Reporter that Nolan had no intentions of completely reworking Bane’s voice, insisting he would only make slight changes to the sound mix. Now, Collider has the testimony of a source that claims Warner Bros. sent a new soundtrack for the prologue still attached to select IMAX showings of “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” making Bane’s dialogue “40 to 50 percent” clearer. Here is the source’s full account: “A friend of mine who is an IMAX projectionist told me they received a new soundtrack for the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ prologue. He said it’s now a combo soundtrack with ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,’ but the cool thing about this is that they’ve cleaned up the dialogue. They’ve gone in and lowered the background noise of the plane and other things, thus making Bane’s dialogue clearer and more understandable. He asked some people after they left the movie if they could understand Bane and they all said they had no issue understanding him, and were excited for the movie.” Warner Bros. told The New York Times ‘ Dave Itzkoff that there was “no truth” to the rumors, but Collider followed up its initial report with a letter purportedly from IMAX sent to its projectionists. The letter instructs them on how to dub the combined tracks properly and perfectly aligns with the original report. This is certainly looking like the tweak we’ve expected from Nolan since The Hollywood Reporter article. If the director is adamant about keeping the gargled effect on Bane’s voice and encouraging the audience to participate in the film more, this is the change that needed to be made. Regardless of whether you’re part of the camp that insists the voice is comprehendible, the change, however slight it may be, was needed. Are you looking forward to a cleaned-up Bane? ‘I’m a square in the movie, and I pretty much maintain that squareness,’ Wiz tells MTV News of his February film with Snoop Dogg. That’s why it’s so hard to imagine the Taylor Gang general as a geek, but in his and Snoop Dogg ‘s upcoming film “Mac & Devin Go to High School,” the Pittsburgh rapper plays just that. “I’m super square in the movie,” Wiz told MTV News, laughing backstage at his and Snoop’s New York concert last week. “I’m a square in the movie, and I pretty much maintain that squareness. I mean, I walk on the wild side, I do some cool things, but I tapped into my nerdy side.” Though the “Mac & Devin” soundtrack hit stores Tuesday, the stoner comedy won’t be out until February. According to Wiz, it wasn’t difficult for him to turn down his cool for the camera. “That’s kind of who I am as a real person too; I was really reserved,” Khalifa said about his high school days at Taylor Allderdice High in Pittsburgh. “I was really fall-backish, so I can totally connect with my character Devin in the movie. It was real easy.” Fans got their first real glimpse of Wiz as Devin in the duo’s “Young, Wild & Free” video . In the clip, which mixes movie scenes with performance footage, Wiz’s character is seen wandering through the school halls looking extremely studious with his shirt buttoned all the way to the top. It was quite the transformation. “I had to do makeup every day to cover my tattoos. I had to spray my hair to get the blond out, but it was cool. My name is Taylor and my Bieber experience happened on November 23rd, 2011 at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York. My best friend Kathryn (the blonde) and I (brunette) came all the way from California to meet Justin and it was so worth it! Her family brought us down. We were lucky enough to get to meet him before he performed. We got there an hour early and we ended up being the first in line. While we were waiting, we saw Kenny, Scooter, Alfredo, Scrappy, and Dan. I was so pumped; I was texting my mom everything I saw. Scooter walked by us so I did a little wave and said, “Hi Scooter!” He responded with “Hey guys.” He was busy. While I was looking around (I was zoned out), Kathryn’s mom said, “TAYLOR! GET IN THE SHOT!!” I looked over and Kathryn and her little sisters were huddled around Kenny for a picture. I was like, “WOAH OK!” and I scurried to get in the picture. We were starting to calm down when Fredo came down the stairs. I pointed him out, and Kathryn’s mom asked politely for a picture with him. He accepted, and we took a picture. He was such a sweetheart. A few minutes later, Dan Kanter came around the corner. I freaked out and quietly yelled, “Oooh my gosh it’s DAN KANTERRR!” and he replied with, “Hey!! Whats up?!” and he put up his hand for a high five. I was panicking so I quickly put up my hand hoping that that was the right thing to do. This was when everyone else started to flood into the room. The line was re-positioned numerous times, so much that I gave up on wondering where Justin was gonna enter. He was an hour and a half late. Finally, Kathryn said that she thought she spotted him on the upper floor. She was right. He came down the stairs and the reaction from the entire room was, “…..GASP…….AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” I kept my cool surprisingly well; I didn’t burst into tears!! The moment I saw him, my body froze. I was completely numb that whole night. He got all the way down the dramatic flight of stairs, and he was doing a cute little dance. A guard looked at us and gestured toward Justin and we power-walked over to him. We tried telling him what we’d been practicing all afternoon, but he interrupted with “No!! Picture! Picture!” [By the way, he had about 15 minutes to take pictures with around 90 people.] We took the picture and I had to walk across him to leave, so I attempted to hug him, which was a fail, so I walked away with a somewhat distressed face. According to Kathryn’s mom, Justin reached over as far as he could and grabbed my arm. I turned around because I was hoping for more, not because I felt him grab my arm (remember, my body was numb. I was in total shock). I looked at my arm which was held by Mr. Justin Bieber, and then I looked up at him. He looked at me with the cutest smile, he waved at me, then he winked at me . I was overpowered with shyness at that moment, so I quickly turned around to tell Kathryn. Now for the awkward part. Everyone was told to go UP the escalator, but WE weren’t supposed to. I didn’t get that memo. We were halfway up when Kathryn’s mom told us to come down. We were so starstruck that we didn’t hear her the first time. We came back to earth, and so we rushed DOWN the UP escalator. Right in front of Justin. We RAN for the stage (where we were supposed to go in the first place), and we were pushed right into front row. The performance was absolutely incredible.
