R.I.P.: 21-Tear-Old Louisiana Tech Running Back Tyrone Duplessis Found Dead After Having Chest Pains

So sad: Louisiana Tech running back Tyrone Duplessis died Thursday morning after medics responded to an emergency call at his off-campus apartment. Hazel Woods, the chief investigator for the Lincoln Parish coroner’s office, said the cause of death was not yet known and an autopsy is pending. Ruston police Lt. Tim Parker said authorities are not investigating at this time and are awaiting the coroner’s report. “Tyrone was a valuable part of this football family,” Bulldogs coach Sonny Dykes said. “This is a tragic, senseless loss, but he made a lasting impact on this team, university and everyone that knew him.” A roommate of Duplessis made the emergency call after the running back woke up with chest pain, Louisiana Tech spokesman Patrick Walsh said. The 21-year-old Duplessis, a third-year student from New Orleans, recently completed his sophomore season of eligibility. Dykes has informed his players of Duplessis’ death and the team held a meeting to discuss it. The university has also made grief counselors available to the team. “We were deeply saddened,” Louisiana Tech President Dan Reneau said. “Tyrone was not only a valuable member of our football program, but much more importantly, he was a valued member of the Tech Family. This is a painful loss for our campus community and our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.” “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tyrone and his family,” Athletics Director Bruce Van De Velde said. “Tyrone was a special young man who was loved and respected by the Tech Family. He will be dearly missed, but I am sure his teammates and friends will honor and remember him through their commitment to fulfilling their potential.” Duplessis was recognized as an all-state running back at O.P. Walker High School, where he won a state championship in 2007. He is survived by his parents, George and Mary, and two siblings, George III and Levoneshia Dixon. R.I.P. Source More On Bossip! Lindsay Lohan on New Year’s Eve Hosting Gigs: Pass!

Lindsay Lohan is adamant that she is proud of the progress she’s made with the judge in her probation case and as a result, she’s planning a low key New Year’s. She’s even passing up six-figure paydays as a result. The 25-year-old resurgent train wreck has gotten a bunch of offers to host some ragers on December 31, but has stunningly turned down each and every one. According to reports, Lindsay is desperately trying to change her party girl image and feels that staying away from NYE madness is a step in the right direction. Seriously, this is true ! LiLo’s decision will cost her big bucks, as she’s been offered upwards of $100K to ring in New Year’s Eve at various venues. But long term, it’s not worth it to her. The nearly seven-figure check she just got for her Playboy photos should ease the pain somewhat, as well. Imagine, nearly $1M for some Lindsay Lohan pics ! Saturday night, Lindsanity plans to ring in 2012 with a few close friends at her home, though she may go out to dinner beforehand. Girl, we hardly know ye! [Photo: WENN.com]

Justin Bieber Plays Generous Santa to Childhood BFF

We already know that Justin Bieber is an incredible boyfriend . Turns out, he’s a pretty awesome best friend, too. Consider what Justin gave childhood BFF Ryan Butler: a Mustang convertible! The pal, who had a cameo in the video for “One Time,” Tweeted a photo of the gift Monday night, along with the message: “Justin got me a present. #swag!!!” As for Bieber? He’s been chilling at home in Canada, as the superstar chimed in via Twitter on Christmas Eve: “spending time with family – feels really good.” He also presented fans with these two videos on Christmas Day. Granted, we’d rather have had a new car, but still.

Heavy D Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death

The autopsy results for Heavy D are in. The iconic rapper reportedly passed away in November from a pulmonary embolism – a blockage in one of his arteries, initiated by a blood clot in his leg – which may have been exacerbated by a long flight to the Michael Jackson memorial concert. Heavy D – Now That We Found Love The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has listed Heavy D’s death as “natural” and added that the artist suffered from heart disease. Relating his passing to the long flight he took to Europe a few days prior is speculation, but such extended inactivity is a common cause of death for those with deep leg vein thrombosis.

Heavy D’s Cause Of Death Announced

Rapper succumbed to pulmonary embolism, a result of a blood clot that traveled to his lung. By Rob Markman Heavy D Photo: Prince Williams/ FilmMagic Though he was only 44 years old, a medical examiner has concluded that Heavy D ‘s death last month was a result of natural causes. TMZ reported that Heavy, born Dwight Myers, died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep vein thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism is usually caused by a blood clot formed in the leg that eventually travels up to the lung, stopping blood flow. In most cases, the clots formed aren’t deadly, but officials from L.A. County Coroner’s Office also told TMZ that the rapper suffered from heart disease and that may have been a contributing factor to his death as well. According to WebMD, common symptoms associated with pulmonary embolism are sudden shortness of breath, sharp chest pains, lightheadedness and fainting. Police reported that on November 8 they arrived at Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home after a call was made to report an unconscious man. When the cops arrived, they found the rapper conscious, though he had difficulty breathing. The self-proclaimed Overweight Lover was then transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. TMZ also reported that a flight that Heavy took back from Europe after performing at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales may have been a factor in his death as well. It is believed that the blood clots formed in Heavy’s legs due to his prolonged immobility on the long flight. Heavy was laid to rest on November 18. The night before his funeral, his brother Floyd Myers spoke with MTV News about his brother’s health from his family’s home, apparently unaware of Heavy’s heart disease. “Heavy was in great shape,” Myers said. “You guys seen him at the BET Awards, and he just did the tribute to Michael Jackson; they flew him out to London to do that. Heav was in good shape, healthy, no heart problems. He constantly made sure that his health was in check.” At the time, the initial autopsy report had come back inconclusive and Heavy’s family, friends and fans were still searching for answers. Still, rather than speculate, Heav’s brother remembered the positivity that the rapper exhibited in his life. “He loved family, and that’s who he was, but it wasn’t too much different from how he treated his friends and his fans,” he said. “He showed everybody love and affection, and we’re gonna miss that.” Related Videos Remembering Heavy D Related Photos Heavy D: Life, Music And Friends Related Artists Heavy D & The Boyz

Game Checks Into An Insane Asylum! [VIDEO]

We all knew it was a matter of time before the music industry became too much for West Coast MC, Game . In his latest music video, “Martians vs. Goblins,” Jayceon Taylor finds himself in the loony bin. Tyler The Creator aka Wolf Haley is right along with Game rapping about throwing Rihanna in front of a train and tying Lil B up to a tank of propane to watch him blow up. Whoa, buddy! In an odd turn of events, Lil Wayne contributes vocals, but doesn’t appear in the visual. Asylum patients mouth Weezy’s parts. “The concept of the video is really trying to go more on the horror side. Game gets checked into the insane asylum and then he ends up getting taken to the coroner’s room and put to sleep,” offered the video’s director Matt Alonzo . This cut off Game’s R.E.D. LP reminds me of Russell Simmons ‘ failed horrorcore rap group, Flatlinerz . However, it is a cool Halloween joint, if that’s what you’re into. Hit up  Rap-Up.com for more details on the video.
